Substitute Teacher Claims She Was Fired for Not Meowing to Student Who Identifies as Feline

“We no longer need your services if you can’t identify with all the children in the classroom.”

I don’t know if this teacher’s claims are true, but is it really so hard to believe today?

From PJ Media:

Sub Teacher Claims She Was Fired for Not Meowing Back at Student Who Identifies as Feline

A substitute teacher says she was canned for not “identifying” with all of her students, including a young boy who claims to be a cat.

In a TikTok video, a woman going by the handle @crazynamebridgetmichael claims she was let go for not meowing back at a student, who then stormed out of the classroom.

“I’m a sub, and the most important thing we do is take roll, so the school gets paid” the teacher rants. “So, I’m looking at the seating chart as I’m going up and down the rows and marking who’s here and who’s not. I get to the third row and I hear this ‘meow.‘ Uhhh, excuse me?”

The woman goes on to say that a little girl told her that the teacher needs to meow back because the boy identifies as a cat. The substitute jokingly asked if there was a litterbox in the classroom. The boy then stormed off, and the teacher barked at him.

She ends the video by stating that, when she went to the main office to check out for the day, she was told, “We no longer need your services if you can’t identify with all the children in the classroom.”

This will not end well. The arbitrator identifies as a coyote.

If true, then that episode of always sunny where dennis’s ex identifies as a cat in the courtroom is no longer funny.

I think this is very probably a joke about “transgender” policy in grade school. It’s an example I often use to illustrate my view on the whole issue — when a kid pretends she’s a cat, or a princess, the best idea is to humor her and play along, but not to forget that it is just a game, some healthy fantasy and role-playing, not reality.

Ok. I spent way too long on trying to figure out if this is real and that’s just a symptom of the problem of allowing too much of the absurd to be considered acceptable in society.

Regardless, I did find this and it even existing as a blurb on a website at a state university is ridiculous and symptomatic.

And I have no idea why there are that many spaces in the post. I’m going to blame the dog.

If you mean blank lines, it’s an artifact of ads being injected by the website. If you have an ad blocker, many of them will show up as big whitespace.

Oh, come on. There’s nothing wrong with furries. I don’t see the point in it, but I know a lot of people who do, and good luck to them. But the crucial difference is that furries don’t really think they are animals. It’s a game. A fantasy. A lifestyle. They know very well that they are normal humans, and the fact that they enjoy pretending otherwise doesn’t affect their real lives, any more than it does for D&D players.

gateway to insanity in the current climate.

If you want to act out those fantasies, that’s fine. Lots of people have fetishes and the freedom to use them without hurting others.

That crap ends when the university has official communications supporting it….they are a state entity and should not be creating “safe spaces” for such.

1. We speak “people talk” to cats. At least most of us do.
2. The child has no right to assume that the teacher is a cat.

This story is just too crazy to believe at first hearing. I’ll wait to hear if Ben Shapiro or Matt Walsh mention it. Can’t ask Snopes anymore and standard fact-checkers don’t return actual facts.

That said, schools have been pushing the boundary of crazy-is-normal for a long time. So I can’t dismiss this insane claim out of hand either.
