MSM Conveniently Changes How They Report on COVID Cases Due to Omicron Surge in Midterm Election Year

“The AP has recently told its editors and reporters to avoid emphasizing case counts in stories about the disease. That means, for example, no more stories focused solely on a particular country or state setting a one-day record for number of cases, because that claim has become unreliable.”

In 2020, then-Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden made some pretty sweeping promises about what he would do if elected. The most significant pledge he made was that he would “shut down the virus.”

“I’m not going to shut down the country. I’m not going to shut down the economy. I’m going to shut down the virus,” Biden wrote in a tweet a month before the election. He said it so often in 2020 that I lost count.

Here’s a compilation video of just a few of the many instances where he made such a claim during his campaign:

Now here we are a year into his presidency – and in an election year, and there’s been a sudden metamorphosis in the Biden administration on “shutting down the virus.” A few weeks ago, he admitted there was “no federal solution” to getting the Wuhan coronavirus under control. Senior members of his administration, including top health advisers like Dr. Anthony Fauci and CDC director Dr. Rochelle Walensky, have also conveniently loosened guidelines surrounding CDC recommendations, admittedly based primarily on economic considerations.

Remember, the Democrats and the press branded then-President Donald Trump and his administration as “murderers” when they factored economic considerations into the pandemic response.

But with the new sheriff in town, being a Democrat means different rules for how the media operates. Predictably, the mainstream media is now changing its tune on how it reports on cases, which they say is due to the surge in Omicron variant cases nationwide:

For two years, coronavirus case counts and hospitalizations have been widely used barometers of the pandemic’s march across the world.

But the omicron wave is making a mess of the usual statistics, forcing news organizations to rethink the way they report such figures.

Yet these [soaring case] counts only reflect what is reported by health authorities. They do not include most people who test themselves at home, or are infected without even knowing about it. Holidays and weekends also lead to lags in reported cases.

If you could add all those numbers up — and you can’t — case counts would likely be substantially higher.

Because of that, the Associated Press told its reporters and editors “to avoid emphasizing case counts in stories about the disease. That means, for example, no more stories focused solely on a particular country or state setting a one-day record for number of cases, because that claim has become unreliable.”

They then went on to note how other news organizations like the New York Times were changing the way they covered case numbers as well before getting around to admitting that hospitalizations are not always the best way to gauge outbreaks:

Hospitalization and death rates are considered by some to be a more reliable picture of COVID-19′s current impact on society. Yet even the usefulness of those numbers has been called into question in recent days. In many cases, hospitalizations are incidental: there are people being admitted for other reasons and are surprised to find they test positive for COVID, said Tanya Lewis, senior editor for health and medicine at Scientific American.

Gee, ya think?

Though the AP cited an expert who wanted to emphasize that case counts should not be eliminated from coverage, that same expert said they were important to note from a “societal impact” perspective, and that such stories “may not be told adequately if only hospitalizations and deaths are emphasized.”

Hmmm. Aren’t these some of the same things conservatives have said since the pandemic started? Why the change from the media now?

The reasons why are glaringly obvious. Because not only does it help Joe Biden, it also helps Democrat governors in blue states like New York where we’re seeing record case numbers. We’re also in a critical midterm election year where a lot is on the line for the media’s preferred political party.

These two images pretty much encapsulate what’s happening between the Biden administration’s shift in how they talk about surges and the media falling in line accordingly as they did for Biden in 2020. They also did this after White House officials conferred with media outlets last month on how to better spin gloomy reports on the economy more in the White House’s favor:

Bottom line: The goal here is to reframe Joe Biden’s presidency to make it look like he’s done what he promised he would do:

‘Nuff said.

Yes how terribly, terribly convenient eh. What could possibly have changed?

Maybe they will attempt to reverse course this summer as the South and Sun belt hit their flu season. It doesn’t really matter, too many people are too wide awake and far too tired of masks, lockdown and lies to ignore it. IMO.

Who would want to shut down such a pretty virus?

Why are we surprised? We saw them do exactly the same thing with the PCR cycle count.

Under Trump: ramp the required count up until goats, fruits, and pet rocks test positive for COVID.

Post-election: Back off the hammer, good buddies, we got ourselves a leftward convoy!

(I mean, one hour after the inauguration. How clear a FU do you need?)

The fact that PCR cycle counts are not disclosed on test results or in official test statistics tells you all you need to know. They are clearly manipulated for political purposes, and the non-disclosure is intended to make it impossible to compare time periods with each other or know if a surge/decline is real or not. Lower when the Democrats need a “win”, lower when the vaccines need to be seen as better than they really are (see CDC guidelines for vaxed vs unvaxed).

This is also why the dems want EVERYONE to be “vaccinated”! If you don’t have a “control” group (ironically, WE will be the “control” group that’s made up of “unvaccinated” people who COULD NOT be controlled) to compare the “vaccinated” with, you won’t know how dangerous and long lasting the adverse effects of the “vaccines” really are!

Quite Confused | January 14, 2022 at 10:10 am

Dr Kerry Mullis inventor of PCR
Meaning there was no diagnostic test for covid the whole time
On top of that with Ivermectin recocnized in January last year as a viable treatment method there can be no legal emergency auhorization for any vaccine which all should be back in clinicals now not discussed for mandated use of a private commercial product with immunity for any harms caused issued by the government

We knew this would happen! We also know that from the beginning they were lying when calling a death due to suicide as dying from covid! Car wreck deaths were tested for covid or simply added because of “symptoms”! What IS surprising is that it took so long to flip 180 degrees! I thought the changes would happen last Feb, but with the lack of support for their “vaccines”, they had to extend the FEAR FACTORS a little longer. Now that the jabs are IN, it’s safer to reclassify all the “Biden deaths” to reflect ONLY those who TRULY died solely FROM the FAKE FAUCI FLU! Look for that to be a major talking point when comparing the turnip in the White House’s efforts vs those of PRESIDENT TRUMP! Even the “vaccine” messaging has changed from “CURED” to “well, maybe you won’t die”! Message to the dems – PEOPLE ARE NOT THAT STUPID – at least ALL the time!

About a year ago, they changed how they were reporting the numbers, so I could no longer track trends in my zip code, county and state. to show it was not as bad as the media said. So, I stopped paying attention to their numbers. I have no faith that they are close to being accurate.

The scams continue:

Nancy Pelosi’s son Paul was involved in FIVE companies probed by the feds as shocking paper trail connects him to a slew of fraudsters and convicted criminals:

Looks like Joe Biden is getting shut down BY the virus.

Nothing says “fail” as loudly as this Omicron graph from the UK (H/T eugyppius).

The damage we have done to our young and middle-aged adults by this vax foolishness is capitally criminal, and it can’t be undone.

Early on in the vax debate, there was conjecture that the “almost but not quite identical (actually unique)” antibodies produced by the synthetic spike proteins might later be used as “homing designators” to target westerners with a subsequent engineered virus, leaving the PRC relatively untouched.

It does nothing to loosen my tinfoil hat to observe that this is precisely the behavior we are seeing from Omicron.

Is it possible that Omicron itself is engineered, and was a proof-of-concept (or even an insufficiently-effective first-strike) in such a program?

Putting “mainstream” before Media (i.e., MSM) is analogous to putting “fully” before “vaccinated.”

The dishonest media are anything but “mainstream”, much like those who partake in gene therapy are anything but “vaccinated” (new definition of vaccinated notwithstanding).

Please stop.
