California Gov. Newsom Shocked To See The State He Governs Looks “Like A Third World Country”

Gavin the Clueless sputters: “What the hell is going on?”

About a week ago, California Governor Gavin Newsom was giving himself a pat on the back.

He messaged the state’s COVID numbers to compare himself favorably against a governor truly popular with the American people: Florida’s Ron DeSantis.

Newsom was asked to respond to a recent analysis by DeSantis about state governments implementing “politically motivated school closures, [and] workers denied employment due to heavy-handed mandates” (in other words, California).

“They’re performance artists, some of these people,” [Gov. Gavin Newsom] snapped. “All you have to do is watch Fox and then just decide to plug in. I mean, it’s about the easiest thing I’ve seen in politics. It’s just, ‘What’s the ticker on Fox primetime?’”

“With respect, we’d have 40,000 more Californians dead if we took [DeSantis’s] approach,” Newsom continued.

However, this week Newsom is getting a much needed lesson in humility.

In the wake of Union Pacific Railroad’s threat to pull out of Los Angeles due to continuing train robberies, the California governor alighted from his perch for a photo op during clean-up efforts around Union Station.

Newsom stunned those who attended with his uncharacteristically accurate assessment of the situation, likening the area to a “third world country“.

Attending a clean-up at the ravaged rail depot, the Democrat lawmaker exclaimed: ‘It looked like a third world country, these images, the drone images that were on the nightly news.

‘I took off the suit and tie and said I’m coming because I couldn’t take it,’ he added. ‘I can’t turn on the news anymore. What the hell is going on?’

Newsom’s uncharacteristic plain-speaking comes amid growing outrage at crime across Californian cities, with the plundered freight trains making headlines across the US.

The social media commentary that ensued ripped into Newsom for being as surprised as he was about the state of the state.

Newsom was immediately slammed by conservatives on social media who pointed partial blame at Democrat policies that he supports for the lawlessness and vagrancy that has plagued the Golden State.

“Yeah, boy, how did that happen?’ he looked around asking,” the Spectator’s Stephen L. Miller sarcastically tweeted. “‘Man this place that I run is a real s***hole. Ah well, next.’”

“The definition of a gaffe is when a politician accidentally tells the truth,” Republican California State Rep. Kevin Kiley tweeted.

“Even Gavin Newsom now thinks California looks like a third world country,” Republican congressional candidate Errol Webber tweeted. “He’s the one who made it this way!”

Meanwhile, Newsom says that more funding for the state’s Organized Retail Theft Task Force will help put an end to the train thefts. Interestingly, in his response analysis, California’s governor puts part of the blame on the greed of those damned consumers who are trying to find the best bargains online.

The state is adding CHP patrols along the railroad to supplement Union Pacific’s own police force and security measures.

The governor also called Thursday for prosecuting thieves who target trains under organized crime laws, which can carry harsher penalties. It wasn’t immediately clear how common that practice would become.

“We make charging decisions based on the evidence,” Alex Bastian, an adviser to L.A. County District Attorney George Gascón, told the Associated Press. “Our office takes Union Pacific’s concerns seriously and hopes to discuss this issue more in the coming weeks.”

The governor also asked consumers to do their part by using reputable resellers and being skeptical of items listed online for prices that are too good to be true. “A lot of this stuff ends up on platforms you shop on,” Newsom said, referring to stolen goods.

Do you recall the last time you heard DeSantis liken the Sunshine State to a third world country? Me neither.

Florida, for the win . . . despite the alligators, hurricanes and humidity.

If he is shocked he doesn’t deserve to be governor

I’m shocked to see it looks this good.

Best of all, Newsom had to apologize for referring to the thieves as gangs. He’s now calling them “package attracted persons.” Not really — he’s calling them “organized groups of folks that move from site to site.” You know, like gangs.

It’s an egg-dance to avoid microaggression gaffes when the vast majority of your political constituency are literally describable as one type of pejorative or another.

Next I expect to hear him say, “I inherited this mess.”

When you’re too busy greasing your hair back and dining at the French Laundry combined with your butt sucking staff and friendly media it’s hard to know what’s going on in California.

Newsom couldn’t care less about package theft, that is until his order of Horny Goat Weed from Amazon was stolen.

Yes, it’s our fault for buying a low priced item….must be stolen, that’s it.

HOW ABOUT DO YOUR DAMN JOB AND ENFORCE THE LAW AND LET US BE THE FULL TIME EMPLOYED WORKING CLASS CITIZENS THAT WE ARE YOU POS

By the way, it gets worse in PC bizarro world. Newsom said that “gangs” appear to be doing this, then had to walk it back to “organized groups” and apologize so as not to offend anyone affiliated with a gang.

Source was Fox news.

I’m so old, I remember being scandalized to see the leaders at “Hill Street Blue” precinct actually giving the leader of their biggest criminal street gang a seat at their planning meetings. I assume that’s probably SOP in all big blue cities now, hence the egg dance.

We fled California in 2011. The grocery store that was two blocks from my house started locking all the doors but one at dusk and that door had a armed guard on it. This was in Concord where I had lived since I was ten.

Concord has continued on its downward trajectory. I will no longer even visit that state.

Idiot Newsom should be sent to the border of the southern states and see the 3rd world invaders coming into the USA illegally and the trash they leave behind them! Perhaps he needs to join the states (Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, and even California) in their efforts to clean that crap up. This is the problem he has created, and it will be in Sacramento soon!

..the disrobing shall continue until the mouth of a babe opens.

OK, one could make a rational argument that from the coast to about 100 miles inland that it is NOT a part of the United States in that neither US law nor the US Constitution holds, AND it is hostile to both.

The fact that it is also 3rd world is from the point of view of the Left a bonus.

Third world dictators dictate to third world states, . it’s a third world manifestation of states’ rights.

But through the totalitarian characteristics of unfettered democracy, the bastard dictates.

I didnt vote for Joe, I didnt vote for Ted Kennedy, I didnt vote for Barack, not for Gordon Lightfoot, or whatever her Irish/Chicago name is.

But each has a national reach, a national power that clogs every citizens’ pores with their intestinal sewage.

Diversity [dogma] and democratic gerrymandering, politically congruent bag limits, regulations and economic recession, and an intermittent/renewable energy blight on the land.

“…more funding for the state’s Organized Retail Theft Task Force will help put an end to the train thefts…”

Typical solution to a problem created by their failed Leftist policies: Throw other people’s money at it.

There’s this thing called police…but why use actual direct enforcement when you can use bureaucracy instead???

I know which one scares the violators more.

and then he apologized for using the word “gangs” and called them organized groups instead

Snipers would take care of the train robbers. One can dream, can’t one?

A few brakemen could, oh, “accidentally” lock them inside the train cars. After a couple days in a shipping railcar, they’ll be more than happy to be taken to jail when the police open the doors at the train’s next stop.

In my dream, one of the looters laughs at the RR cop and says, “You’re just wasting your time, you know. They already let me walk three times with a $200 fine for trespassing, and they’re just going to do it again.” The cop replies, “I know, I recognize you. That’s why this time I’m just going to shoot you right here, and leave you to rot under this pile of old packaging, where you’ll never be found until they elect a Republican governor.”

How do you create the best (for the moment) 3rd world city? Take one 1st world class city and decay it.

Gov. Slickback spends day doing ecotourism instead of his job….that’s the real headline.

(and yes “ecotourism” is a real thing that you can look up…it’s for the rich to feel better about themselves by going on luxury trips and taking a few hours in one stop to pretend to be serving others)

If the law meant anything, the feds would get involved and start prosecuting as well. I figure there’s got to be at least one law on the books regarding train robbery as it relates to interstate commerce.

This goernor, Gavin Newsom,
His actions have been pretty gruesome.
He has made covid rules
For us lower class fools,
Of which he’s done broke not a few-some!

Gov Gavin once stood on the track,
And by garbage was taken aback:
“Why, it looks like World third,
And as foul as a turd!”
Dear Gavin, go sit on a tack!

“With respect, we’d have 40,000 more Californians dead if we took [DeSantis’s] approach,” Newsom continued.”

This is my favorite “statistical” approach: “If I hadn’t done what I did, it would have turned out even worse.” This is used all the time to justify gun laws. And it’s invariably bullshit.

Why isn’t Union Pacific hiring private security? It’s not as if the gangs attacking the trains are going to file charges after they get a well-deserved beatdown.

I’m sure the ACLU, BLM, the usual collection of churchless “Revrunns “ and other troublemakers would step in.

[Newsome] also asked consumers to do their part by using reputable resellers and being skeptical of items listed online for prices that are too good to be true.

Sure – let’s send more money to Amazon so Communist politicians can continue to get it back in the form of fat campaign contributions.

The Gentle Grizzly in reply to Recovering Lutheran. | January 23, 2022 at 6:35 am

Oddly enough, no one is compelled to use Amazon. There are other companies out there. About the only one I know about that I will not use, is eBay. There’s entirely too much counterfeit merchandise. That, or stuff that so old, but any warranties on the road long since gone. I’m referring to products with date code-based warranties like hard disk drives.

“’We make charging decisions based on the evidence,’ Alex Bastian, an adviser to L.A. County District Attorney George Gascón, told the Associated Press. ‘Our office takes Union Pacific’s concerns seriously and hopes to discuss this issue more in the coming weeks.’”

I’ve never seen more blatant lies (outside of Gavin Newsom’s, which are the main point of the article). First of all, when Soros prosecutors announce up front that they will not prosecute a long list of crimes then they obviously ARE NOT making decisions based on evidence. They are making decisions based on their announced social-justice policies.

Second, in Mayor Lightfoot-esque mode a lot of leftists have attempted to shift the blame from Soros DA Gascon to UP, saying they should be providing their own security. As you can read, they have their own police force. They are providing their own security. But when they arrest train robbers Gascon lets them go. Which is why they are threatening to avoid LA county entirely. So, again, Alex Bastian is simply lying on behalf of Soros DA Gascon when they say they take the UP RR’s concerns seriously. They’ve been laughing this whole thing off.

I suppose for his next act, Newsom will take a walking tour of SF with Mayor Breed and as he steps in human feces and gets a used hypodermic needle stuck in the side of his shoe he’ll turn to Breed and ask, “How does this kind of mess happen.” And she’ll say, “Governor DeSantis did this.” And he’ll just nod in agreement. “That f***ing performance artist is responsible for all the trouble in Kali.”

Could it be that CA is importing hundreds of thousands of homeless from the Mexico border with no way to make a legitimate income? Could it be that the liberal DAs in CA don’t bother to prosecute the offenders of such property crimes? Could it be that the Gov. has finally figured out that his policies are not working?

Portland Oregon looks worse. I won’t drive through it without a .45 and two extra magazines. Pretty soon you’re going to need an MRAP to get through the city.
