Arizona College Students Threaten Hunger Strike if Democrat Voting Bill isn’t Passed

“We’re prepared to hold out indefinitely now that the holidays are over”

Fine. Let them starve. Most of these college students probably don’t even know what’s in the bill, but they’re so brainwashed to think that whatever the Democrats want is good.

FOX News reports:

Arizona college students threaten hunger strike if voting bill isn’t passed by Jan. 17

Arizona college students threatened to go on a second hunger strike if Congress doesn’t pass the Democrat-led voting legislation by Jan. 17.

“We’re prepared to hold out indefinitely now that the holidays are over,” Leila Winbury, a junior at Arizona State University, told Fox News Digital. “I have seen the consequences of a broken democracy my entire life, so we’re willing to suffer the consequences of hunger striking rather than the consequences of the bill not passing.”

She said the next hunger strike will be “a lot bigger” than the 15-day one organized in December.

“Nationwide hunger-striking, more than likely,” she noted.

The Un-PAC students are advocating for the Freedom to Vote Act, which aims to take money out of politics, establish more lenient voting rules and make Election Day a federal holiday.

The bill repeatedly stalled in Congress in 2021 and doesn’t appear to have the support needed to pass by the students’ deadline. Democrats have argued the legislation would protect access to voting, while Republicans have said it would open elections to fraud.

“now that the holidays are over”

Sounds like a new years resolution diet to me!

Yeah, that statement just oozes commitment.

“But… but… Martin Luther King Day is Monday… and KFC is catering!”

(I’m sorry, the devil made me type that.)

Well go ahead and have a hunger strike. I would gladly walk by you while munching on my lunch. You are (supposedly) a college junior and to think that you going on a hunger strike will change ANYTHING, shows your lack of knowledge, intelligence and honor.

I feel so threatened.

That’s an excellent point. If the DOJ can sic the Federal Bureau of Instigation on parents attending local school board meetings, what are they going to do about these organized, quasi-militia-style groups threatening actions like this? (/sarc)

There’s always your safe space. You could hibernate.

Okay, I admit I googled “un-pac arizona state university” and learned that this group of about 20 so-called students are threatening to go on a hunger strike if Congress doesn’t pass a bill intended to ensure Democrats don’t lose elections. Naturally, they present themselves as a non-partisan group working to “fix” democracy.

Judging by some of the pictures accompanying the news stories about these self-important little twits, they haven’t yet decided on their gender this week, but they want to “fix” democracy.

Why wait till the 17th? Have them turn in their pudding cups today and get started.

“they haven’t yet decided on their gender this week, but they want to “fix” democracy.”

Don’t you understand yet? Gender-fluidity is the perfect model for fixing democracy their way. When you need the filibuster, free speech, bodily autonomy, or emanations and penumbras, poof, there they are; when they will oppose you, poof, they’re gone. Rinse and repeat with any constitutional safeguard you can name.

Let the little idiots starve. Who gives a damn? I’m sick of these little turds believing their 18 yr old “lived experience” of burning up mom and pops credit card limits actually affects anyone who has to work for a living. Screw ’em. When the 2nd day without a Starbucks latte passes, they will flee like the little thieves they are.

David Codrea writes: “The thought strikes somebody could make a killing if they set up a hotdog cart in front of them.”

Why should we care if they go on a hunger strike? Go for it, students! I might even contribute to the burial fund if you go the distance.

“…permit me to point out that you can purchase a 7-horsepower wood chipper from Amazon for $619 through our associates program, which pays me a modest commission on all products purchased through our affiliated links, at no cost to you. And you might say to yourself, “What would I do with a 7-horsepower wood chipper?” Trust me, it could come in handy, and I think you might soon decide you need one.”

Win/win. I’ll even volunteer to ride by the demonstration, enjoying a pizza.

I’d almost pay to see them on day 15 or so. Most of these idiots don’t know the meaning of being seriously hungry, and even so, I don’t much care about 20 or so college age children throwing a temper tantrum.

Several of the people attempting this stunt have been caught sneaking food. The flaw of a hunger strike is when no one believes you because your principles shift every day just like your gender.

Nevermind that these are the same types of groups that make up grievance hoaxes all the time…why would ever question their integrity or commitment? They can attempt to hurl some kind of -ism fireball but they’ll be lucky to even blow smoke at this point.

I’ll show up armed to keep food away from them

Let them strike. And ignore them. They are technically adults and their dietary choices aren’t news.

“we shouldn’t have to put our bodies on the line, blah, blah, blah” –tell that to the thousands of leos, emts, firefighters, first responders et al who actually DO get up every morning and put their bodies and lives on the line(as well as active-duty military)to keep your little entitled ass safe to stage your little “hunger strike”

presumptuous little twit

Poor little precious snowflakes. Hard to believe they’re mature enough to cross the street by themselves let alone are in college. Someone needs to check the admission tests.

Is it too early to ask if these mutts are starving yet?
I have popcorn and a beer….I want to watch.
