AZ State U. Students Disciplined For Harassing White Student Post Bizarre Video Accusing School of Racism

“We’re being persecuted for defending our multicultural center from racism and sexism.”

In September, we covered an incident at Arizona State University, where two white male students were approached in the school’s multicultural center by two female students of color who berated them, telling them that their presence was offensive.

The video went viral, and most people commenting on social media felt the female students were unreasonable and out of line.

Here’s the original video, in case you missed it:

The female students were apparently subjected to some kind of discipline.

FOX 10 in Phoenix reported in November:

Students who filmed viral incident at ASU multicultural center say they are being disciplined by the school

A viral video from September at Arizona State University’s multicultural center ignited a firestorm over race on social media.

The video showed a confrontation where two white students sitting at the center with a ‘Police Lives Matter’ laptop sticker and an anti-Joe Biden t-shirt were accused of being racist. Now, the students who filmed the confrontation say they’re facing discipline from the school.

The students of color who recorded the viral video say ASU officials are improperly punishing them, after they say they were violated by the incident that happened at the multicultural center.

“ASU is on fire. I cannot continue. I cannot continue creating pathways to help black students get into ASU if ASU is going to attack, harass, and not support Black students,” said Sarra Tekola, who recorded the video.

The two female students have since posted another video to the internet which was picked up on Twitter. In this bizarre rant, they accuse the school of discriminating against them, claim the investigation of the incident was racially biased, say that they are being persecuted for defending the multicultural center from racism and sexism, and that they are simply responding to Nazism and white supremacy on campus. Watch:

The incident in September was provoked by them. They approached the other students of their own volition. Also their claims of Nazism and white supremacy on campus are laughable. This generation of students has no idea what real racial strife and discrimination even look like.

Nazism and white supremacy have become a lazy catch-all for anything progressives don’t like.

It’s becoming clearer and clearer that we don’t have a race problem.

What we really have is a problem race.

Really? Are there no adults in these girls’ lives that can sit them down and explain how wrong them are?

They need to get tossed out of school and have to find work in the real world to support themselves. Although who would hire them if they saw this?

UnCivilServant | December 29, 2021 at 7:58 pm

When all you have is a hammer, every problem looks like racism.

So to summarize their position they believe that:
1. Racially exclusive zones are OK
2. Self appointed guardians of these zones are OK
3. These guardians alone determine who can be present, what affiliations are acceptable and many project their own interpretation of the affiliation onto the offender
4. The actions of the guardians should be celebrated and accepted, not challenged, refuted, resisted, evaluated, investigated much less punished or corrected
5. Civility and other aspects of the social compact are outmoded and unreasonable

I seem to recall several historical parallels to this sort of thinking on the part of these young women. Those periods were shameful and thankfully ended several decades ago, Yet new players have emerged to try their hand at ethnic and racial prejudice, discrimination, division and dominion. This needs to be stopped before a point of no return is reached and these emotionally immature narcissists encounter someone as willing to push back as hard as they are. Discipline these children.

Milhouse in reply to CommoChief. | December 30, 2021 at 12:10 am

You forgot 1a. A “multicultural space” is such a zone. That certainly wasn’t the university’s intention when it designated that space. “Multicultural” by definition includes white cultures.

They are of course correct that “whiteness” isn’t a culture, but neither are “blackness” or “brownness”. Whatever culture they claim has to share the space with all other cultures, and if they choose to initiate a discussion with someone there they need to be civil, just as they should expect those people to be civil to them.

Also, I don’t know where this logically fits in your numbered list, but another thing they believe is that policemen go around murdering black people, and are a danger to them. That a black person isn’t safe around policemen. And that is the worst falsehood of them all, because so many people believe it and yet it’s not even slightly true. It’s equivalent to the blood libel that Xians used to spread about Jews. And yes, I say that advisedly, because policemen have been murdered on the basis of that libel, just as Jews were murdered because of the blood libel.

MajorWood in reply to Milhouse. | December 30, 2021 at 11:16 am

Someone needs to tell them that the recent absence of the po-po has led to a significant uptick in the murders of blacks by other blacks, and we are talking 30, 40, 50+% here. That BLM thingie isn’t playing out the way that they epected.

CommoChief in reply to Milhouse. | December 30, 2021 at 11:41 am

Yeah I can see that about the blood libel; but if that’s the only card they have then I suppose they either play it or walk away from the table, and the current hustlers can’t do that and profit off their grift. Their statements to the two men implied that ‘whiteness’ simultaneously was synonymous with Western Culture; ‘this is our only space, you have the rest of campus’, but also wasn’t a genuine group; ‘white is not a separate culture/group’. So logic isn’t their strong suit. If not a legit group then how can that same ‘not a group’ dominate elsewhere?

Absolutely correct on their perception of LEO which ignores that many LEO are PoC, the overwhelming majority of LEO as with Americans not only are not racist in belief or actions but oppose it in all its forms. While also ignoring the disparate impact on victims. As we know the majority of perpetrators are PoC but so are their victims which always seems to get lost or overlooked in arguments about crime.

Arminius in reply to Milhouse. | December 31, 2021 at 11:04 am

“…It’s equivalent to the blood libel that Xians used to spread about Jews. And yes, I say that advisedly, because policemen have been murdered on the basis of that libel, just as Jews were murdered because of the blood libel.”

This, in and of itself, is libel. Wasn’t it you making a big deal when we said employers, full stop, with over 100 employees were plaintiffs suing the Biden administration over their vaxx mandate? Your issue was not all employers were plaintiffs in the lawsuit, and in fact some might even have been favor of the mandate.

And yet here you are saying that “Xians,” full stop, spread the blood libel about Jews. Great overgeneralization, Milhouse, but it’s exactly what I’ve come to expect from you. First of all, not all European Christians spread or believed the blood libel. And in fact some European Jews converted to Christianity when they realized that while some so-called Christians might be attacking Jews, others were defending them. Well, also after they read the New Testament and realized just how Jewish it is.*

By the end of the 1st century AD Christianity had spread far and wide; it had already spread throughout the Middle East, North Africa, and even reached India and sub-Saharan Africa. By the time of Constatine and Christianity became the official religion of the Roman empire (before then Christians had no power to persecute anyone and were often persecuted when they weren’t being merely tolerated) it had reached as far as China.

Outside of Europe no one had heard of anything like the blood libel. If you tell a Christian in India or NIgeria about it they’re stunned. They refuse to believe it; they have nothing like it in their history.

So, no “Xians,” full stop, didn’t spread the blood libel. Most “Xians” in the world had never heard of it, and it should go without saying you can’t spread the blood libel if you’ve never heard of it. You should be ashamed of yourself, but at least stop slandering “Xians,” full stop, with your broad brush. You’re only talking about a minority of “Xians” world wide.

*The idea of a plurality in the God head was very much in keeping with what Jews believed prior to the end of the second temple period.

      https://drmsh.com/the-naked-bible/two-powers-in-heaven/

“Twenty-five years ago, rabbinical scholar Alan Segal produced what is still the major work on the idea of two powers in heaven in Jewish thought. Segal argued that the two powers idea was not deemed heretical in Jewish theology until the second century C.E. He carefully traced the roots of the teaching back into the Second Temple era (ca. 200 B.C.E.). Segal was able to establish that the idea’s antecedents were in the Hebrew Bible, specifically passages like Dan 7:9ff., Exo 23:20-23, and Exo 15:3…

Early Judaism understood this portrayal and its rationale. There was no sense of a violation of monotheism since either figure was indeed Yahweh…

That acceptance changed when certain Jews, the early Christians, connected Jesus with this orthodox Jewish idea. This explains why these Jews, the first converts to following Jesus the Christ, could simultaneously worship the God of Israel and Jesus, and yet refuse to acknowledge any other god. Jesus was the incarnate second Yahweh. In response, as Segal’s work demonstrated, Judaism pronounced the two powers teaching a heresy sometime in the second century A.D.

In other words, during the Rabbinic period the Rabbis declared what they had long believed to be orthodox Judaism prior to that time a “heresy” simply as a hostile response to Christianity. The same animosity you display by spelling it “Xian.” But you have no right to libel all Christians for something that was only believed by a minority.

We bought land for them, now known as Liberia. Anyone promoting CRT in any of its forms, of any race, should be expelled.

Really? Who is this “we” who purportedly bought that land, from whom did you buy it, and how much did you pay for it?

henrybowman in reply to Milhouse. | December 30, 2021 at 3:19 am

The very same “we” who owned slaves.
You can’t have it both ways.

CommoChief in reply to Milhouse. | December 30, 2021 at 12:00 pm

Liberia has a troubled history and offers some warnings. The ACS, American Colonial Society, was one of the prime movers. Basically they were largely Northern and sought to remove free blacks to Africa from the North. Some motives were good and others not so good. James Monroe was a supporter thus the capital is Monroeville. Lots of fundraising from the SJW crowd of the day; 1820’s and beyond.

The warning or cautionary tale is that the people arrived and were colonialist in every sense. They didn’t integrate with people but essentially subjugated them and created a caste system in spite of the premise that they went there to escape a caste system in the US.

Marcus Garvey more or less picked up their torch and perverted the ideas for his own benefit. IMO he serves as the model for present day tribal race hustlers and grievance grifters.

Milhouse in reply to CommoChief. | December 30, 2021 at 6:28 pm

Of course they were colonialist. Why wouldn’t they be? How could they not be? That’s my point. Nobody bought them any land. They invaded someone else’s land, settled it, and enslaved the previous inhabitants. They weren’t from there, had no business being there, and had no interest in “social justice” or in actual justice. JohnSmith100’s claim to have bought them their land is just false.

CommoChief in reply to CommoChief. | December 31, 2021 at 10:55 am

Agreed. Every migration wave has three broad potential results:
          1. Assimilation with the existing culture and population
          2. Remain apart from and dominate/conquer the existing culture and population
          3. Remain apart from and become dominated/subordinate to the existing culture and population

To one degree or another and with a bit of overlap those are the historical results of every migration. That these folks choose to exploit the existing people/culture and become colonists isn’t surprising as that’s the very common option chosen in any migration.

Arminius in reply to CommoChief. | December 31, 2021 at 12:51 pm

That’s ridiculous, Milhouse. The former slaves did not enslave the indigenous population, one. And it was bought simply by paying for the resettlement. Although conquest wasn’t considered a bad or improper way to acquire land until the Marxists invaded our school system. The Bolsheviks didn’t it consider it improper. They never criticized the Czars for building an empire, and they never once considered “freeing” the conquered peoples such as the Kazakhs, Turkmen, Tajiks, Armenians, etc.

Funny how colonialism and imperialism is only bad when white Europeans do it. How did the Muslims acquire an empire stretching from Spain to India by 711 A.D.? By conquest. And if imperialism is bad, shouldn’t the left be as upset about the Ottoman empire? The Mongol Empire. Various Chinese empires? Imperial Japan?

The Comanche had by the mid-1800s acquired the largest buffalo hunting empire the world had ever seen. It covered what is now eastern New Mexico and huge swaths of Colorado, Oklahoma, Texas, and the state of Chihuahua in what is now Mexico. They didn’t get that land by being nice to their neighbors. They waged war against them mercilessly, massacring their neighbors such as the Apache, Kiowa, Arapaho, etc.

Same with the Aztec empire, Mayan empire, or Incan empire. These were brutal conquests. At least the Aztecs, Mayans, and Incas enslaved their conquered peoples, I suppose. Being more agricultural they could afford to keep enslaved peoples around. Besides, the Aztecs and Incas needed them for human sacrifice.

          https://www.history.com/news/aztec-human-sacrifice-religion

“…When the Spanish conquistador Hernán Cortés and his men arrived in the Aztec capital of Tenochtitlán in 1521, they described witnessing a grisly ceremony. Aztec priests, using razor-sharp obsidian blades, sliced open the chests of sacrificial victims and offered their still-beating hearts to the gods. They then tossed the victims’ lifeless bodies down the steps of the towering Templo Mayor.

Andrés de Tapia, a conquistador, described two rounded towers flanking the Templo Mayor made entirely of human skulls, and between them, a towering wooden rack displaying thousands more skulls with bored holes on either side to allow the skulls to slide onto the wooden poles.

Reading these accounts hundreds of years later, many historians dismissed the 16th-century reports as wildly exaggerated propaganda meant to justify the murder of Aztec emperor Moctezuma, the ruthless destruction of Tenochtitlán and the enslavement of its people. But in 2015 and 2018, archeologists working at the Templo Mayor excavation site in Mexico City discovered proof of widespread human sacrifice among the Aztecs—none other than the very skull towers and skull racks that conquistadors had described in their accounts…”

In North America, though, hunter-gatherer societies didn’t have the resources to spare to take prisoners, not even for slaves. So there are numerous pre-Columbian massacre sites that have been discovered and researched by archeologists and anthropologists.

Sites such as a cave in Southeast Utah wear bodies were dumped 2,000 years ago that show clear signs of hand to hand combat, crushed skulls, broken limbs, and arrow points still embedded in pelvic bones. This massacre site includes approximately 16 are women and 20 are children, some as young as 3 months old.

Sacred Ridge is a massacre site dating back to approx. 800 A.D. in Colorado, but this one is different. Because the 33 people, and women, were actually tortured. Their ankles were broken to hobble them. Some of the torture included flaying of the soles of the feet so badly that there are marks on the bones, and crushing and scraping the tops of the feet. So they weren’t only butchered and burned, but they were tortured before they were killed.

At least a minimum of 486 men, women, and children were massacred in approx. 1325 A.D. at Crow Creek in South Dakota. It’s hard to tell how many as bodies were decapitated (and based on the cut marks some show signs of tongue removal), hands and feet may have been cut off, and there are scattered bones at the site.

Fun fact: though the numbers may seem small, there wasn’t a huge population of Indians on the plains. The site is an ancient village; based on the size of the village, it appears that at least 60% of the villagers were killed. Whoever killed them intended to kill them all, although based on the lack of skeletons of 15-24 y.o. girls it seems whoever raided the village and killed the villagers intended to steal the girls for wives.

In other words, they were going to wipe out the entire population and the identity of the population by forcing the girls to have their babies. This meets the definition of genocide as the word is used today.

Frankly, I can’t feel to bad about “stealing” the land as that’s how they got it. Where ever human beings can live, the surface of the earth has changed hands multiple times.

The thing is, I’ve met some Comanche. They’re not at all ashamed of their history of conquest; they’re proud of it. The ones I met actually respected Americans because we beat them. They had beaten everybody before, including the Apache and other Europeans (i.e. the Spaniards). They thought they were invincible until we came along.

Another reason I can’t feel guilty is while for some reason the reservation system has gotten a bad name, those Comanche were amazed we left them with any land. When they were fighting other tribes it never would have occurred to them to leave their defeated enemies with any land at all.

“… buy an island and air drop them onto it permanently.”

That seems a bit extreme. Nevertheless, I’m actually pleasantly surprised that these cretinous nitwits were (apparently) disciplined. Does my heart good to hear them get on social media and boo-hoo-hoo about it.

The proper response is, of course, to ignore them. If they persist and can’t be ignored, tell them to sit down and be quiet. If they can’t do that, expel them from the school so as to gain some peace and set an example.

Perhaps consider returning them to the recently-renamed George Floyd MIDDLE SCHOOL in their city of choice. Encourage them to actually learn something this second time around.

Certainly a better fit for them, intellectually and emotionally.

“The proper response is, of course, to ignore them…. ”

Yes. That’s obviously the best approach.

But I have to admit, were I in the position of the 2 students being accosted, it would take all of my patience and reserve to not respond by mocking them in ways that would wind them up until their heads exploded.

    Ignore and punish.

Anything less is less than the tough love they need.

This is a classic case of people talking past each other. Some students demanded a minority activity center (a “safe space”) and wanted the whole building allocated to that purpose. The Administration repeatedly said that there would be no “black only spaces” on the campus — all students must be allowed in. After many more protests, the Administration said, “You can use this one room in the building for your center.” As you can see from the first video it was a study lounge room like many others. So, two white students studied there and the two ladies came up and claimed that the room was for “blacks only”. They were blown off and the Admiinistration, true to its word remained firm that it was not a “blacks only” space. So, all of their protesting was for naught.

I respect ASU for enforcing its rules and addressing harassment of (the two white male students) based upon their race. I think the punishment was measured and appropriate. The second video escalates the matter, and I hope that the conduct board hands down an appropriate second level penalty for failure to submit the 3 page essay.

I also hope that someone quietly discusses this with their parents. All of this national publicity is making the two ladies unemployable. I don’t think they could even enlist into the military at this point.

Actually, these black supremacists would be exactly the sort of material SecDef Lloyd Austin (America’s version of Théoneste Bagosora) would gladly welcome. He is always looking for a few good comrades willing to do the dirty work of killing whitey.

The UNCF makes certain they have their own colleges. They should attend them.

You raise a very important point. It would be absolutely illegal for any college, including a United Negro College Fund college to discriminate in admissions based on race The Supreme Court in the Bakke case made this very clear. Although HBCUs started out as segregated, they have all opened up to student of all races. Two HBCUs in West Virginia are now serving 80% plus white students. The school desegregation cases make it very clear that “separate but equal” has no place in education, particularly in higher education or professional education where there are intangibles like alumni networks that cannot be easily replicated.

ASU is a public (state-owned) college. The taxpayers fund the school, and ultimately, the state legislature sets the overall policymaking structure. There are no HBCUs in Arizonia.

I know several white students who were beat up in a black college for being white. The admin doesn’t care and the campus police won’t address the problem.

We’re living in an emerging new era where the cops just don’t want to get involved. Although I don’t approve of them shirking their duty, given the abuse and disrespect heaped on them, I understand up to a point. Be that as it may, for better or worse, this is the new normal. Well… let me stretch this way out. Go to a farm. Look at things like harrows, tractors, harvesters, cotton picking machines. Somewhere on each are loops or hooks fastened to hard-points or to the frames. This is to pull them about, without starting them, or, to pull them out of a place where they are stuck.

Given that some refer to American blacks, er, Blacks, as “obsolete farm machinery”, would not the nose ring…

        Oh, never mind.

The nose ring does have a purpose: it keeps this girl from rooting in the soil.

After seeing a young punk punch his girlfriend in the local pub, his nose ring came in quite handy for me to grab and lead him out the door

He’s just lucky I didn’t keep it on my finger as I tossed him, as a keepsake

Not at all. In Biblical times it was considered normal for both men and women to wear earrings and nose rings.

In Genesis 24:22 the servant gives Rebecca a nose ring, and in 24:47 he explicitly states that he put it on her nose, so she must already have been pierced.

And in Ezekiel 16:12 God tells the Jewish nation, metaphorically, “I put a nose ring on your nose, earrings on your ears, and a crown of glory on your head”. So these were considered normal adornments.

My uncles used a ring in the nose of bulls for safety and control. Whenever I see one these freaks w a nose ring all I see is a bull tied tightly from his nose to the stantion. Lol

Wow. These morons were not only loud, ignorant, obnoxious, and racist, they apparently made and published a video so that we could all see for ourselves how loud, ignorant, obnoxious, and racist they are. Amazing. This is like stupidity raised to the power of a google.

The truth is that other that new immigrants form Africa, nearly all fall between approximately 1/3 and 2/3 Caucasian linage. They need to internalize that fight.

We know from the first video that they violently disagree with whiteness as a social/cultural construct. 47% of ASU’s incoming first-year students in fall 2020 came from minority backgrounds. However, 28% of the ASU student population is Hispanic.

Why are those girls speaking English? Isn’t that cultural appropriation or something?

Forced segregation is contrary to our laws – a fact that society has been trained to ignore when it’s a ‘minority’ demanding “safe places” and such.

But the bottom line is that the buildings/rooms/whatever would be taxpayer funded clubhouses which restrict access based on race/gender. Legally, that’s a non-starter.

henrybowman in reply to Gosport. | December 30, 2021 at 2:08 pm

“Forced segregation is contrary to our laws”

The citizens of Jim Crow states were yanked from a social milieu in which segregation was statutorily mandatory, and plunged into another one in which segregation was statutorily forbidden… without ever having passed through one in which their own constitutionally-guaranteed freedom of association left it up to their own individual choices as to which way they should individually conduct themselves.

The Constitution rightly forbids discrimination by the government — it is a document written to constrain the governnment’s options, not the citizens’.

A racially exclusive clubhouse provided/operated/sponsored by a state university is a of course a prime example of a discriminatory government action.

As a side observation, isn’t it odd that some of the people who vociferously campaign for safe space racial segregation would in their next breath insist that bathrooms should be open to all sexes/genders without discrimination…. with no safe spaces needed or allowed?

You and me, both. Barry Goldwater warned us what would happen, and he was right.

I spent the better part of my time in college in a multicultural center to study and socialize. I met some of my best friends there. I was very rarely verbally attacked for being a white man in such a space, and every occasion was met with resistance from other students. I wouldn’t trade my experience there for anything in the world. So I find the behavior of these girls to be especially disgusting. The entire point of multicultural spaces is that everyone is supposed to be welcome. It’s not supposed to be a magical barrier that keeps “basic” white men out.
