Obama Appointed Federal Judge Gives January 6th Rioters Harsher Sentences Than Prosecutors Sought

“There have to be consequences for participating in an attempted violent overthrow of the government, beyond sitting at home”

Federal Judge Tanya S. Chutkan, who was appointed by Obama in 2014, is handing out sentences to January 6th rioters that are harsher than the penalties sought by prosecutors.

This is political persecution, and more Republicans need to start standing up and saying that out loud.

Reuters reports:

‘There have to be consequences:’ Judge ups sentences for Capitol rioters

A federal judge in Washington has repeatedly sentenced people who stormed the U.S. Capitol to more prison time than prosecutors sought, saying that even people who were not violent should face consequences for joining the unprecedented assault.

In the past week, U.S. District Judge Tanya Chutkan has imposed sentences ranging from 14 to 45 days on four people who pleaded guilty to unlawful parading and picketing inside the Capitol building on Jan. 6 — a misdemeanor offense.

“There have to be consequences for participating in an attempted violent overthrow of the government, beyond sitting at home,” Chutkan said at one of the hearings…

On Wednesday, Chutkan sentenced two cousins who breached the Capitol and took selfies while doing so to 45 days in jail.

Prosecutors had asked Chutkan to sentence each of the defendants — Robert Bauer of Kentucky, and Edward Hemenway of Virginia — to 30 days in prison.

A day earlier, Chutkan sentenced an unrelated defendant, Dona Sue Bissey of Indiana, to two weeks of incarceration.

Prosecutors recommended Bissey, 52, serve probation, citing her early acceptance of responsibility and cooperation with law enforcement.

Here are a few Twitter reactions:

By the way, notice anything strange about the photo Reuters chose for this article?

The people who rioted at Trump’s inauguration got pretty much all of their charges dismissed. The vast majority of people who rioted and destroyed throughout the spring of 2020 suffered no consequences.

The treatment of the January 6th defendants is a disgrace and will not be forgotten by the American people or history. It is a blatant case of political persecution and the left is not even trying to hide it.

Another judge doing what the Party can’t do on its own. A true believer in action. Oh… didn’t Roberts say something about judges being impartial… if he says so.

The only attempt to overthrow the government that I’m seeing is this Judge’s abuse of the court processes, to terrorize patriots who were upset with the woke left canceling people and elections. His ideology mirrors the far left ideology that murdered 100 million people in the last 100 years, and spread misery across the planet. He is a terrorist and and threat to this nation. These far left thought cancelers should be treated as terrorist.

A government that does this deserves to be violently overthrown.

I love ““There have to be consequences for participating in an attempted violent overthrow of the government, beyond sitting at home,” Chutkan said”

Yes. And if anybody’s actually brought before your court and found guilty of such crimes, you can sentence them accordingly.

The point of having a political trial is to have a political trial. It’s a party warning to others.

Moral of the story?

The prosecutors are fucking liars, STOP PLEADING GUILTY.

Inside every Leftist is someone wanting the Gulag to open.

There are many more judges like her routinely being appointed.

If you listened to Trump and remained home Jan 5th let this judge me your guide into never giving the fascist party wins at the ballot box again go out and vote during elections.

The leftists always do this crap and then they act surprised when it turns around on them. New rules. Can’t wait to apply them to Democrats.

Chutkan is following orders. The real traitors are the Democrats and Republicans that gave Chutkan the powers of a judge.

“There have to be consequences for participating in an attempted violent overthrow of the government, beyond sitting at home.” Only a very weak mind could come up with such a really stupid line.

Our former Chicago bathhouse president appointed liberal judges? The good professor was too tame to question Barry’s bonafides when it mattered. That pass made all that followed possible in that it emboldened the enemy to think they could get away with anything. They were right.

she was confirmed by the Senate in June 2014 by a 95-0 vote. You can send the tank you note to the Uniparty
within this profile are a few notable cases

“There have to be consequences for participating in an attempted violent overthrow of the government, beyond sitting at home”

I have to apologize to anyone reading this who shares the same anatomy as this stupid broad. If I’m going to participate in the attempted violent overthrow of the government, I’m going to at least bring, I don’t know.

A FUCKING GUN!

I’m not going to go into it with a guy in a horned opera hat and NO FUCKING GUNS!

Sorry.

Hey, you know what the British brought with them when they sacked D.C. back in 1812?

Well, ships. And? And?

FUCKING GUNS!

I may seem like I’m having fun with this, and given the choice between laughing and crying, I am. The last transmission from the Czech freedom fighters who killed Reinhard Heydrich was, “Situation impossible, but not difficult.”

That may not be an exact quote, but something very much like it. And you know what they had with them, during their last stand against the Gestapo? Or whatever internal security forces the CJCS Gen Milley I mean all the good Germans ‘scuse me managed to assemble?

FUCKING GUNS!

I really like this gun. You don’t really give up too much, shot for shot, with a black powder shotgun. I’d say the 10 gauge is about as worthy as a modern 12 gauge 3″ magnum.

But you can expend your two shots and still crack some craniums with this …

Sorry. I recommend this shotgun. In my experience it has always patterned nicely out of the box.

I don’t know why it keeps defaulting to the 12 ga.

Big fan of the 10 gauge if you haven’t noticed.

I want you to have guns. Your government wants yo to have guns.

https://thecmp.org/cmp_sales/

Why don’t you have guns?

I put up with a lot of s*** from Texans who think I only came here from Kali to ruin the state. I only came here because we ran out of $79.95 SKSs. If I could still get an SKS for $79.95 I would have stayed..

OK. For twice that. I like the SKS. It’s sort of the Winchester M94 of semi-autos. Some people say you can use the bayonet as a stand. I never saw the point (no pun intended). If you need a precision rifle you don’t want an SKS. It’s just light, handy good out to a hundred yards and maybe a little more. Ammo is cheap.

I have a Polytech M14 because the CHICOMs f**ked up. The were supposed to arm the Filipino New People’s Army (NPA) but we, back in the day when we were the good guys, figured it out.

https://thearmedcitizen.net/firearm-reviews/polytech-m14-review/

If you want to believe the CHICOMs always wanted this rifle to be a commercial success on the North American market as opposed to providing a confusing silhouette for an insurgent, be my guest.

Just make sure you swap in a G,I, bolt. The Chinese bolts are soft.

“There have to be consequences for participating in an attempted violent overthrow of the government, beyond sitting at home”

And what of the consequences for participating in an attempted overthrow of the government from behind the bench?

What did he plead guilty to?
