Dr. Leana Wen: Mandate Doesn’t Go Far Enough, You Cannot Travel Without a Vaccine

“That if you wish to have these privileges, you need to get vaccinated. Travel, and having the right to travel in our state, it’s not a constitutional right as far as I know to board a plane, and so saying that you want to stay unvaccinated, that is your choice, but if you want to travel, you better go get that vaccine.”

Drunk on power.

I honestly don’t understand Dr. Leana Wen, the woman Planned Parenthood fired for supposedly wanting to make it more about women’s health than infanticide.

I guess she’s trying to show them she is as woke as possible.

Last night on CNN she said Biden’s mandates do not go far enough:

“I don’t think it goes far enough. I actually think that what zeke [sic] said about interstate travel was exactly right, but in this case we have childhood immunizations [sic] that we don’t even think about. All 50 states have laws on the books to require childhood immunizations which we should be looking at the Covid vaccine the same way. When it comes to employers, I think what the Biden administration did was quite brilliant because it gives air cover for businesses that have wanted to do this, that have wanted to put vaccine mandates in place, but they didn’t want to have their employees complain about them. Now they can say, hey, we didn’t really want to do this, but the administration, the federal government, is making us do it. It also helps to level the playing field so that people aren’t then going to threaten to go to another workplace if every workplace has that same requirement. That’s a good thing. I don’t think this is overreach. I think this is what’s needed in the middle of a pandemic, and I think the Biden administration, if anything, could have gone further.”

Oh, it gets better.

Wen upped her tyrannical views this morning on CNN. She wants the government to ruin your life if you refuse to get a vaccine.

You know, these people better remember that there are some people who cannot get the vaccine for health or religious reasons. They should not shame anyone, I know. But there are plenty of people who want the vaccine and cannot have it.

“I absolutely think we should have that requirement. I think it is a major over sight on the the part of Biden administration to not issue this yesterday. And we have to talk about the reason. The reason isn’t so much that we need to keep train travel and plane travel even safer. They are pretty safe. Although I definitely think that having a vaccine requirement would make it even safer and probably encourage many people who are vaccinated or who have young kids and want to protect them, maybe it will help to encourage those people to start traveling again. But there is an even bigger reason too, which I think we need to make it clear that there are privileges associated with being an American. That if you wish to have these privileges, you need to get vaccinated. Travel, and having the right to travel in our state, it’s not a constitutional right as far as I know to board a plane, and so saying that you want to stay unvaccinated, that is your choice, but if you want to travel, you better go get that vaccine.”

Be quiet, Karen.

Indeed. Use a silencer on her.

If COVID is such an existential threat to our country, why doesn’t the administration require all illegals to submit to the vaccine? Why isn’t Dr. Leana Wen demanding all these people take the vaccine? Jen Psaki confirmed that the vaccine mandate does not apply to “immigrants” (aka Illegals, or unregistered Democrats) at a press conference this week. This is the largest fraud ever perpetrated on the American people.

Just open the Gulag already, I know you want to.

Read the Bill of Rights. These are amendments to the Constitution.

IV Amendment ….. a right “to be secure in their persons, houses, papers and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures.”

This right limits the power of the police to seize and search people, their property, and their homes. Forcing people to carry cards attesting to their religion, political view or medical status is unreasonable. There is a further law that protect health information, see HIPPA.

Dumb proposals always seem to come from the party that claims to be so educated and so superior. Funny how “follow the science” quickly turned into “follow what we tell you”. At the “do as we say” ruling class.

randian in reply to Ben Kent. | September 10, 2021 at 10:56 pm

HIPPA has been rendered irrelevant. While it forbids your employer from accessing your private medical records, it doesn’t forbid your employer from firing you for refusing to disclose them (such as for proof, or lack thereof, of covid vaccination, or any other purpose your employer demands them). Even if it did, I doubt any judge will sustain a wrongful dismissal suit on behalf of an employee who was fired for refusing the jab. Covid is Just That Dangerous.

Milhouse in reply to randian. | September 12, 2021 at 2:19 am

It hasn’t been rendered irrelevant. Of course it doesn’t forbid your employer from firing you for refusing to disclose them. Why on earth would it? Who ever supposed it did?

Milhouse in reply to Ben Kent. | September 12, 2021 at 2:18 am

      .

This right limits the power of the police to seize and search people, their property, and their homes.

      Which it is not doing.

Forcing people to carry cards attesting to their religion, political view or medical status is unreasonable.

Says who? But in any case, it is neither a search nor a seizure, so it doesn’t have to be reasonable.

There is a further law that protect health information, see HIPPA.

You’re an idiot. First of all, it’s HIPAA. Second, all it does is prevent your doctor or insurer from disclosing your information without your permission. It does not in any way prevent you from being required to disclose it. Nor does it prevent you from being required to allow your doctor to do so.

I suspect that you have never dealt with HIPAA in any meaningful manner.

The law does not allow information to be disclosed and does not require you to divulge any identifiable medical information to a non-covered entity.

Medical information can be gathered in the aggregate, and sent to agencies, but identifiable medical information need only be released to HIPAA covered entities, and then only with the patient’s permission.

Your way of thinking would render the law worthless and do the very thing it was intended to stop.

I won’t stoop to calling you an idiot, but you are woefully ignorant of the HIPAA regulations.

ArmyStrong in reply to Milhouse. | September 16, 2021 at 11:24 am

Using your logic, you have no objection if your employer demands to see your blood pressure, cholesterol level, or body mass index before you can be permitted to work. Are you willing to tell your employer about your status for AIDS, Herpes, or Chlamydia? I am not, and my right to refuse these requests are documented in the US Constitution and the HIPAA law.

They could just expand the one in DC holding all the Jan 6th political prisoners.

Dr Leana Wen as a child was able to enter this country from her native China with her parents under the “political asylum” provision… Allow me to go out on a limb here by assuming such a move meant her family wasn’t too keen on the way China treats its citizens… So now, after spending years collecting Masters Degrees from our political indoctrination “education” system (undoubtedly at taxpayer expense because her parents were poor) she’s on CNN explaining (for lots of money) why we must have chemicals injected into our bodies (to protect us from a man-made virus that escaped a Wuhan lab while likely being weaponized) so we can maintain our “freedoms”… And, all this coming from someone who recently headed up Planned Parenthood… Damn! Now there’s some serious irony, ladies and gentlemen, on multiple levels.

NOW THE BIG QUESTION is why should we trust a drug Made by China who has nefarious intentions, with the cure of the drug they infected the US/World to start with??? First responders including the military will be treated first. Should they all become sick and/or die, the US will have a difficult time to respond to China who wants to destroy the US. Look no farther than the evil people who stand to get wealthy with this cure or destruction….. George Soros, Bill Gates, Dr. “Fauxci” , Clintons, etc. These rat bastards took Beijing’s dollars and then parroted the Chinese Communist Party line on a whole host of issues. Something is not right here and needs closer examination!

QUARANTINE IS WHEN YOU RESTRICT THE SICK!!!!!……..TYRANNY IS WHEN YOU RESTRICT THE HEALTHY!!!!!!.

She’s Antisci, Pro-CargoCult, and probably subscribes to the Pro-Choice religion.

Makes me wonder if the family was a plant.

    Repeal Hart Celler.

Immigrants from China, Vietnam, and North Korea came from a system where Communism is worshipped. These immigrants came to the US where the public schools, universities, media, and most organizations worship Communism.

It should not surprise us when many of these same immigrants turn out to be just as bad (if not worse) than the genocidal maniacs who drove them out of their countries of birth. You can’t possibly respect freedom and human rights if you were trained your entire life to hate and abhor those things.

Whole family was probably a long range plant.

“There are privileges associated with being an American.” Hum… I thought they were “RIGHTS”! A little Maoist instinct showing up there.

“there are privileges associated with being an American. That if you wish to have these privileges, you need to get vaccinated. Travel, and having the right to travel in our state, it’s not a constitutional right as far as I know”

They are RIGHTS, “you ignorant slut.”

They are RIGHTS, “you ignorant slut.”

It’s really hard to say that after a couple of beers.

At least the FBI isn’t seizing booze like in Australia…. yet. Just a couple? That’s just the daily starter in Oz.

In 1980, I toured Australia…just finished med school and getting ready to be flogged during internship (spoiler… I was…read “The House of God” for insight). Major upgrade then was the ability to do liver transplants. The chief surgeon then paused and said… “if there is a normal liver in Australia”.

This is the globalist dream for the New World Order. The CMS regs.. if left standing… ends my medical career… for now. In a year or two… not so much.

henrybowman in reply to alaskabob. | September 10, 2021 at 6:35 pm

On the contrary. There will always be us outlaw deplorables in need of good underground medics. You just have to get used to taking 9MM instead of Medicare.

Milhouse in reply to alaskabob. | September 12, 2021 at 2:24 am

Nobody in Australia is seizing booze, except from inmates of government-run quarantine facilities. And they’re allowing them a reasonable quantity — up to a pint of spirits a day.

          AF_Chief_Master_Sgt in reply to Milhouse. | September 12, 2021 at 10:20 am

Jeez Milhouse. To read your comment, I guess you would be OK with “No one is seizing food except from inmates in government run concentration camps, and they’re allowing them a reasonable quantity – up to two chunks of bread a day.”

Milhouse in reply to Milhouse. | September 13, 2021 at 1:00 am

Not at all equivalent. Are you suggesting that it is actually safe to drink more than a pint of spirits a day, every day?! Or that government facilities don’t have a duty to prevent people in their custody from committing suicide?

“There are privileges associated with being an American. That if you wish to have these privileges, you need to get vaccinated.”

This is the kind of shit they make up out of thin air. And naturally it only applies to citizens. The government has been flying Illegals around the country without vaccinations and even without any kind of ID. Yesterday they crossed the border and their names were Juan and Maria, Tomorrow they go to the emergency room and they are Rosa and Ricardo. Give me a break!

Abortion is a right but traveling without papers is a privilege?

Is there like some kind of document or something where we can find these things written down so we can keep track? Something like a list of rights or bill of things we’re allowed? Some such thing?

It would be so nice if someone, somewhere, had defined what our government is allowed to do and what we are allowed, too.

Oh well.

    Abortion: “My body; my choice!”
Vaccine: “Your body belongs to the government!”

    American citizens traveling: vaccine required
Illegally sneaking across the border: no vaccine required

Disagree with a Republican: Protected by the Bill of Rights
Disagree with a Communist: Not protected by the Bill of Rights

    MS-13: spark of humanity
    White US veteran: terrorist

    Hope that clears things up!

Maybe Wen is the virus

Does this mean the borders are closed now? I mean, unless the coyotes provide COVID vax cards to their sex slaves right?

Führer Biden has decided that illegal border crossers are exempt from vaccine mandates and travel restrictions. In fact, his regime is providing free transport from the border to undisclosed locations throughout the heartland.

venril in reply to JHogan. | September 12, 2021 at 11:39 am

It’s almost like the plan is to use them as vectors, to cause more cases, to provide a pretext to more restrictions. Weird, I know.

Some, Select Immunity Science Matters (ISM)

I don’t even know where to begin. She’s so far off the mark even saying she’s wrong gives her too much credit.

Kiss off, Dr. Idon’tgiveacrapwhoyouare.

Fûck you ChiCom CU#T

Come force the vaccine on people yourself you worthless piece of flesh.

The more people help grill the hamburgers, the worse they are. There’s always one who thinks it would be safer to cook it longer.

AF_Chief_Master_Sgt | September 10, 2021 at 3:31 pm

Hey, ChiCom Whore, perhaps you need to check the Court rulings stating “The Citizens of each state shall be entitled to all Privileges and Immunities of Citizens in the several states.”

An 1869 ruling (Paul v Virginia) defined freedom of movement as “the right of free ingress into other states, and egress from them.”

So, thanks to your parents bringing you here in your childhood to escape China’s oppressive regime, but perhaps you need to take your slant eyed ChiCom ass back to China.

Master Sgt – most Asians in the USA love the freedoms and liberties in this country. They endured a great deal to get here and cherish the freedoms. In fact, I find the most liberty-loving Americans are immigrants from Eastern Europe, Asia and oppressive regimes like Cuba. Don’t think for a minute that Wen represents views of all Asians. The woke are persecuting Asians as much as Whites. Trying to limit their educational and career potential. So please don’t make this a racial thing. In fact most Asians agree with the frustration expressed here on Legal Insurrection and are dismayed at the direction of the USA under Biden and the woke mob.

She will approve travel to re-education camps.

Yes, when I want an expert in Constitutional Law, I immediately think a medical doctor.

So the freedom to travel from one place in America to another is now a ‘privilege’.

Because of a virus with an IFR > 99.99% for people under the age of 50. The seasonal flu is deadlier for people under 50.

An objective observer might start thinking they are using the virus as an excuse to assert as much control over the population as possible. Because they love power and have a few other things in mind down the road.

About that comparison to small pox and George Washington’s support for small pox vaccinations…

The fatality rate for smallpox is at least 30%. For some strains it approaches 100%.

The fatality rate for Covid is less than 0.5%. For people under the age of 50 it is about 0.01%.

Think George Washington would be concerned about vaccinating his troops from Covid?

But we were told Trump suspending travel from China to America was RACIST!!!

Now unvaccinated Americans shouldn’t be allowed to travel within their own country??

What changed??

I respect everyone’s choice whether they choose to be vaccinated, or not.

As for me, I can’t get the vaccine for medical reasons. If this Marxist whore thinks I will be prevented from traveling wherever I please, she’s got another thing coming. There’s more than one way to get things done.

randian in reply to SField. | September 10, 2021 at 11:08 pm

Yes, you could drive. For example, I’d love to go ride the coasters at Cedar Point. It would probably take 3 days each way from southeast Florida, plus all the excess fuel and lodging costs. That’s mighty expensive in time and money (mostly, in time) for a couple of days of fun, if you have limited vacation days to accomplish it. That is of course the point.

Some parks still require masks. No way in heck I’m wearing a mask all day in the summer heat. Especially in Florida.

Flight restrictions also basically mean I won’t being visiting my West Coast friends for the remainder of my working life.

I had aims of visiting Australia and New Zealand, but that’s another problem entirely.

Leana Wen’s 15 minutes are up.

Apologies to the good Professor, and Mary Chastain,, but I just gotta say this..

SOMEBODY SLAP THAT BEYOTCH!!!

Guys by using b9$+h and w$&3r you are providing ammunition to our political opponents. Not to mention it isn’t nice. Being polite doesn’t cost anything and usually pays dividends.

Great Chief, the fûcking house is burning and you are wondering if you left the TV on!

Black flag time. These people have to go.

They stopped being political opponents a long time ago. They are now the enemy by restricting freedoms.

Wear your soft chains of tyranny well Chief. You deserve them.

Evil Otto in reply to CommoChief. | September 11, 2021 at 8:07 am

Yeah? And what “dividends” does being polite to someone who wants to BAN TRAVEL BETWEEN STATES pay? By all means, tell me.

Wen is the sort of totalitarian who takes over while people like you are concerned with manners.

Brave Sir Robbin in reply to CommoChief. | September 11, 2021 at 5:27 pm

“Guys by using b9$+h and w$&3r you are providing ammunition to our political opponents.”

Saying “Thank you, sir. May I please have another,” is not likely to work. The side for tyranny needs to understand the depths of the feelings of the people. If they people decide it is required to chant “Fuck Joe Biden,” so be it. It is not necessary that he provoke the people. But it is necessary for the people to let their leaders know they have been provoked. And when they fail to listen, it requires a stronger and more emphatic voice.

Imagine if President Trump tried to mandate your health decisions. With Biden installed as president, we got rid of the mean tweets, and all it cost was everything

She is 100% right that while there is a constitutional right to cross state lines, there is no such right to do it by plane. We already had that argument and the courts decided it, back when leftists challenged the No Fly List and the requirement to have ID to board a plane. How many people here supported the challengers then? Now it is a res judicata.

By extension, she is saying there is no right to travel by any public conveyance across state lines unless one has received the jab. Sorry, but I don’t think courts would take kindly to her interpretation.

Wen comes from China, and is a whole-hog believer in its social credit system. She would have us producing “papers” for traveling from one area to another just because her own country of origin does it. Of course, her parents fled and received asylum, but apparently that escaped Dr. Mao-ess Wen’s memories.

I have no time for other physicians like her who decided to adopt a Hypocritic Oath instead of the Hippocratic Oath. She needs to lose her license and told to shut up.
