Tucker Carlson Shuts Down Leftist Confronting Him in Montana Store: ‘Settle Down, Son’

“You are the worst human being known to mankind. I want you to know that”

Tucker Carlson was recently approached in a Montana fishing tackle store by a man who berated him as the “worst” human being. Tucker handled it well, but the left is positively giddy about this.

I can’t help but recall Maxine Waters telling leftists to confront their political opponents in public.

Sara Boboltz writes at the HuffPo:

Man Confronts Tucker Carlson At Montana Store: ‘You Are The Worst Human Being’

When a local fly fishing guide spotted noted vaccine skeptic Tucker Carlson at a sporting goods store in Livingston, Montana, he did not waste time.

“You are the worst human being known to mankind. I want you to know that,” Dan Bailey can be heard telling the Fox News host in a video posted to his Instagram page Friday night.

He captioned the video: “It’s not everyday you get to tell someone they are the worst person in the world and really mean it! What an asshole!”

Although the video was filmed inside Dan Bailey’s Fly Shop on Friday, the store is not affiliated with the man who filmed the video, according to a statement on its website.

“This person has no affiliation with our business, other than he shares the same name as our founder, who passed away in 1982. To be clear, we treat every customer equally and respectfully. Our staff was professional and cordial to Mr. Carlson, as we are with all of our customers,” the store’s owner, Dale Sexton, said in a statement.

See the video below:

The “Occupy Democrats” spent the weekend trying to make the moment go viral:

The left despises Tucker because they fear him, and if you watch his show, you know why. He has a massive reach and is asking questions that Democrats do not want mentioned out loud.

You’ll notice that the HuffPo piece smears him as “noted vaccine skeptic.” Funny, I don’t recall the left using such words about Kamala Harris and Joe Biden.

The left needs someone to focus their hatred on, and with Trump gone, Tucker Carlson has been selected as an acceptable stand-in for their rage.

I’d be interested to know which company this cretin guides for …

MontanaMilitant in reply to The Packetman. | July 25, 2021 at 2:49 pm

Not sure he actually guides. I believe he is the Yellowstone Regional Manager for the National Park Conservation Association in Bozeman. Look him up at NPCA and send his boss a letter. I’m pretty sure they don’t want the headache of having this guy representing their organization as some of their wealthy patrons are conservative

Won’t do you much good. Plenty of sites saying that loser is in a very liberal town. He’s being hailed by a lot of that loser population. Montana has been pretty much a purple place for years.
However it would be fun to go there and get into his face and ask him why he’s supporting biden* when squid pro quo slo joe has let in a million unvaccinated illegal aliens and then moved them all over the country to infect real Americans. Bet goatfaceboi would be spitting mad but won’t have an answer.

henrybowman in reply to The Packetman. | July 26, 2021 at 2:31 am

Guides for? Who cares? The cretin actually works for the CIA.

Jack Posobiec writes: “The White House knew about the Tucker ‘confrontation’ and the entire set-up was planned out in advance, per WH official”

That’s some cognitive dissonance right there. It’s people like Tucker Carlson who keep that guy employed. Livingston doesn’t have an airport; if you’re flying commercial the closest airport is in Bozeman and you’re still going to have to drive to get to Livingston.

Another example of why a return to dueling might be in order. Actions have consequences. Some good, some bad. IMO, it’s past time all the keyboard tough guys, wannabe warriors and mouthy malcontents were forced to confront the karmic justice they deserve.

At a minimum the possibility that one would be forced to wager their health as a consequence of their behavior would lower the temperature on discourse and possibly cause them to reevaluate their commitment to confrontation.

Robert Heinlein used to say that an armed society is a polite society. Maybe that’s why the left wants so badly to take away our guns!

Bruce Hayden in reply to irv. | July 25, 2021 at 1:32 pm

Maybe obvious, but where I live in MT, almost everyone is armed. My guess is that 90% of the pickups you see on the road (unless they have WA, OR, or CA plates) has a truck gun aboard. And, everyone has a pickup.

Hey! I drove through Livingston a couple days ago in my WA plate Buick Park Ave with a gun aboard! Arrived in the shooting-gallery that is IL to visit the fam-damily who are all rootin’-tootin’ gun toting MAGA fans and looking forward to ousting anti-Trump Adam Kinzinger. We ain’t all bad, Bruce! 😉 😉

You’re absolutely right. I’ve resolved that if anyone ever calls me a racist to my face, I will beat their ass. I’ll argue that it constitutes fighting words, and we’ll let the legal chips fall where they may.

CommoChief in reply to Paul. | July 25, 2021 at 12:40 pm

      Paul,

I am proposing dueling as an alternative to an immediate curb stomping but I do concede that a thoroughly solid ass kicking would likely be effective, just more messy.

Milhouse in reply to Paul. | July 26, 2021 at 1:53 am

Where did you get the idea that “fighting words” allows you to assault the speaker? That has never been the case. Even if the “fighting words” doctrine is still valid (which is doubtful), all it would mean is that the state can make it a crime for him to call you that; it doesn’t and has never meant that you have a right to lay hands on him.

CommoChief in reply to Paul. | July 26, 2021 at 12:10 pm

      Paul,

The fighting words doctrine is predicted on the totality of the circumstances that taken together with the words would be likely to provoke a response that ‘disturbs the peace’. That’s how many States define it.

The narrowing of the doctrine over time is appropriate, IMO. Take a flag burning. Legitimate speech or likely to cause a disturbance? If on the courthouse as a protest then speech. In your own front yard, then speech. If at the local VFW where it is almost certain to incite a public disturbance? Very likely fighting words.

The words or actions matter. More important is the location and the recipient/audience of the speech. The latter two things provide the necessary context to determine whether the speech qualifies as ‘fighting words’ or is just speech.

Even then, unless your Sheriff, DA and members of the jury are likely to view things your way and either decline a prosecution or decline to convict my advice is to turn and walk away from anything that isn’t life threatening. The risk reward ratio probably isn’t favorable to you.

        mark311 in reply to CommoChief. | July 27, 2021 at 6:43 am

So much for supporting free speech. Dont you think that might have a chilling effect given how ‘fighting words’ is pretty vague.

Bruce Hayden in reply to CommoChief. | July 27, 2021 at 6:07 pm

I would suggest that if it is possible to walk away, then the Fighting Words doctrine would not be applicable. It presupposes anger so great that you cannot think clearly, and thus, consider walking away.

Set up. That dimwit leftist “fly fishing guide”, if you read about this story on another site, has the same name as the founder of the store. The current store owner says the guide has nothing to do with the business and that all customers are treated respectfully.

Really? Then why did the store staff not kick the offending leftist out of the store for bothering their customers? How is it that the fishing guide just happened to be there with someone filming him going after Tucker Carlson?

The leftist stalked and set this up, and I don’t believe the store owner for a second. Every facet of this says the owner and the guide orchestrated this.

A ‘man’ in a Montana store…Montana? I always assumed men in Montana were actual men. A lefty ‘man’? Must be an import.

A couple of progressive havens still. Worst, I think, is probably Missoula, esp near the University (the university, in Bozeman, MSU, being the Land Grant school, is not supposed to be as bad). Got into a yelling match with a guy at an Albertson’s, in NE Missoula in late May, about masking. Most of the rest of the state was wide open by then, but Missoula clung to its politically correct virtue signaling as long as they possibly could. I wasn’t used to it any more, so only put a mask on when I saw a sign. The one at the Albertson’s was facing the other way, so I missed it. Young punk junior manager demanded that I mask up. I told him that I hadn’t seen his sign. We went out, and it was turned away from the door. I put my mask on, and when reentering, and older (40-60 year old) gut told me he was offended that I was resisting the city’s idiotic rule. I responded that I was offended at him. He told me that it was a safety measure. I told him that I was vaccinated, and there was no scientific evidence in favor of masking for COVID-19. He told me that he was vaccinated too, but that wasn’t the issue (after having started with the safety issue). Rather, he likened it to obeying speed limits in town. I responded that the local rule was thus Malum Prohibitum, and not Malum in Se. No wonder no one else in the state (even in Bozeman) was enforcing a masking rule. I then proceeded to ask him, if the city required him to jump off of a cliff, would he? He stalked off, and glared at me (despite my stupid mask) every time I saw him in the store that shopping trip. After that, I stayed on the west side of town for the rest of that trip.

Bozeman has an insane amount of money slushing around. Livingston appears to have a lot of it too. Friend is a hydrologist, whose whole family went are Bobcats (attended MSU). About a decade ago, he interviewed there for a state job. He turned it down, when he realized that it would entail telling the weekend ranchers, jetting in from either coast, on their private jets, that they couldn’t legally use the water they were using. Apparently, the Yellowstone Club, costing $50k a year to belong, as well as owning a multimillion dollar house there, apparently has a private terminal at the Bozeman airport, so celebrities can avoid the paparazzi.

Tucker is a more gracious and patient man than I am. I would not tolerate someone getting into my face that close.

Wanna shoot your mouth off? Fine, do it from a distance, or be prepared for negative consequences.

Bruce Hayden in reply to SField. | July 25, 2021 at 1:28 pm

Most of Montana is very much live and let live. Part of it is about privacy. And part may be liberal gun laws, made even more liberal with the election of Gianforte as governor. Everyone, pretty much, is armed. Several times I have bonded with guys when they popped out their pocket pistols, and I reciprocated. Next came the truck guns. We live in a neighborhood of 9 houses. The only house that might not have a gun is owned by the probable lesbian. Not because she can’t shoot, but one of her brothers lives maybe a mile away. We also have a probable gay guy. No one asks, and no one makes a big thing about it. No one cares. It’s a private matter, and privacy is sacrosanct here.

SField in reply to Bruce Hayden. | July 25, 2021 at 2:08 pm

That sounds very much like where I live. I forget the exact statistical number, but somewhere around 75% of households here have at least 1 firearm.

Violent crime is nearly non-existent. It’s rural to the extreme, and really isolated here. It’s also bear country, so carrying a gun or having one close by is a must.

And like where you live, people here are very outgoing but we respect each other’s privacy as well. Best place I’ve ever lived. Needless to say, this is deep conservative Trump country.

Bruce Hayden in reply to SField. | July 25, 2021 at 3:25 pm

We had a little (brown black bear, probably a yearling, in the neighborhood for a couple weeks in early June. He spent a couple nights outside the bedroom window. Would wake my wife up crying. We got in a bit of a domestic dispute. I wanted the Fish and Game people to pick him up, and relocate him, before he became too habituated to humans. She told me that if I did that, she would divorce me. She predicted that if we just waited, he would head up to higher elevations, when it got hot. He did disappear shortly thereafter, but don’t know if he was relocated, or relocated himself. And do hope that he went south, not north, because the north ridge is where we have brown bears, which prey on black bears, and esp their cubs, in the county. I expect to see him back this fall.

The Friendly Grizzly in reply to Bruce Hayden. | July 25, 2021 at 8:13 pm

I would love to live in bear country. I fully know they are dangerous, but I find them to be amazing creatures.

I just could not take the brutal cold.

SField in reply to Bruce Hayden. | July 26, 2021 at 3:46 pm

Black bears are the predominant species here. I see one from time to time out in my backyard. There’s a small creek, so that’s the draw. For the most part they want to keep their distance. My attitude towards them is probably like most people here. Cautious admiration. Great to watch them do their thing, but keep your distance, and be careful.

As it probably is in most places with a significant bear population, problems only really happen if you surprise or otherwise encounter one while out walking. It’s funny, the only animal here I actually had charge me was a cow moose with two calves in tow. Drew my gun and put my truck between me and her. She got bored enough for me to get out my keys, unlock the passenger side door, and get in. We went our separate ways and all was well.

henrybowman in reply to Bruce Hayden. | July 26, 2021 at 9:20 pm

Griz: Plenty of bear in Virginia, if you’re politically masochistic. They used to show up in urban neighborhoods on an almost annual basis.

Bruce Hayden in reply to Bruce Hayden. | July 27, 2021 at 6:13 pm

Just be careful around bears, even black bears. We have the occasional adult come through the neighborhood late night/early morning, foraging. My wife throws out vegetable matter for the deer, but the one time she threw out meat, we had an adult grunting and eating, on the back porch for most of an hour. So, when I throw out meat or fish, ITV goes out by the highway, we’ll away from any human dwellings.

Conservative law: Amendment 2 – Right to Bear Arms

Liberal (i.e. divergent) laws include the Twilight Amendment (i.e. penumbras and emanations), not limited to establishment of the Pro-Choice religion; diversity (e.g. racism, sexism, ageism), inequity, and exclusion; political congruence (“=”); single/central/monopoly solutions; [catastrophic] [anthropogenic] immigration reform; wars without borders/social justice; selective-child, etc.

I want one to do this to me. It would take about ten seconds and five words to get him to take a swing at me…..a swing he would regret about a half-second later.
You want a fight? Step up, there is nothing but air and opportunity between us, son.

scooterjay in reply to scooterjay. | July 25, 2021 at 1:06 pm

Calling them “son” and mocking them really tears them up.
A few bloodied noses are in order, an order they have made but yet to recieve.

Apparently Tucker is right over the target …

The universal response should be “Mind your own business.”

I was mask-shamed once by a customer in a store that was the last to require masks (once the governor required it). I told him my asthma was so bad I could not physically wear a mask (true).
I then said “And what if I told you I had been trafficked as a child, and the order to mask my face brings back that trauma?”
His face went white, “I am sorry, I didn’t know.”
“No, you don’t know reasons people don’t mask, and it is rude to ask.”

I should have told him it was not me that was trafficked, but there is one I know for whom that is the case, and I would not have known except everyone kept bringing back the trauma by requiring a mask.

I live in Trump country, but we still have crazy leftie hold-outs. Like my bank. In April or May, I went to do some banking stuff. I was shouted at across the bank lobby that I had to wear a mask to do business there. Really? So I yell across the distance that I, like millions and may tens of millions, am already immune, had WuFlu, lived to tell about it, passed on the tee-shirt.

At some near point, we are all trafficked goods. I”m not loving that prospect.

Milhouse in reply to Morning Sunshine. | July 26, 2021 at 2:00 am

Mike Williamson’s wife has that problem. Even seeing other people in masks is difficult for her.

The lefty only knows how to escalate conflict. Tucker also knows how to de-escalate. I count him using five techniques: friendliness, calm response, low volume voice, asking the other party to de-escalate for the sake of his daughter, and finally distracting his opponent. Distraction finally worked.

I’ve never understood why some people feel the need to harass well known people in public. His life is so boring and has so little meaning, it is only worth anything if he makes a fool out of himself. I bet no one else ever shuts him down by calling him “son” — or else everyone does, and he can’t live it down.

The other guy who caught Tucker fly fishing years ago was rewarded with a great video and an interesting personal encounter.

The first guy was an ass, The second guy made a personal human connection.

Now, calm down, Skeeter. He ain’t hurtin’ nobody.

henrybowman | July 25, 2021 at 5:23 pm

Tucker saw the camera, figured out it was an ambush, laughed in the guy’s face, and walked away.
That’s class, I don’t care who you are.

Brute made an ass of himself

Frank Hammond | July 25, 2021 at 6:36 pm

Dan Bailey, the store owner is full of BS. If the attacker is a local guide then Bailey knows him and what kind of person he is.

Where was Dan Bailey when Tucker was getting attacked? Hiding behind a counter?

If you don’t know by now, this was a setup. Tucker is being monitored. Illegally, of course but there is no one to do anything about it.

The only cure for this is going to be a red liquid.

Fat_Freddys_Cat | July 26, 2021 at 8:28 am

Leftists fancy themselves as the smartest people in the room, but if they thought about it for five seconds they’d realize that blaming Carlson for vaccine hesitancy is speculative at best. Hesitancy existed before Carlson ever brought the subject up; and the vast majority of his audience aren’t looking to be persuaded, they’re watching because they already agree with him.

Are we really to believe that millions of people were going to get the vaccine but then decided not to because of something Tucker Carlson said?

    mark311 in reply to Fat_Freddys_Cat. | July 27, 2021 at 6:51 am

Except he has peddled anti vax nonsense, don’t you think it would have an impact if he actually told the truth about the vaccine. Sure some might still be hesitant but at least TC wouldn’t be feeding into that narrative.

“Are we really to believe that millions of people were going to get the vaccine but then decided not to because of something Tucker Carlson said?”
It almost certainly has had an impact, TC is a popular figure his words have influence otherwise he wouldn’t have a platform would he
