Former California Senator Barbara Boxer Mugged By Reality Of State’s Crime Free-For-All

Boxer “was assaulted in the Jack London Square neighborhood of Oakland. The assailant pushed her in the back, stole her cell phone and jumped in a waiting car. “

The last time we checked in with former California Sen. Barbara “Call Me Senator” Boxer, she was explaining her double standard regarding complaints about the Electoral College.

It seems she is back in the news again, as the latest victim of the state’s crime free-for-all.

Former California Sen. Barbara Boxer was assaulted and robbed while walking in Oakland on Monday afternoon, a spokesperson said.

The ex-congresswoman, 80, who retired in 2017, was attacked by an assailant in the city’s Jack London Square neighborhood, according to a statement posted on Boxer’s Twitter account.

Without identifying Boxer, Oakland police confirmed a robbery occurred in the neighborhood on the 300 block of 3rd Street at about 1:15 p.m.

The suspect punched the former lawmaker in the back and stole her phone before fleeing in a waiting car, according to Boxer’s statement.

The police have not offered a description of the suspect as of yet. The department is offering a reward for information.

The department’s robbery section is investigating the incident. A $2,000 reward is being offered for information leading to an arrest.

Boxer, 80, served in the U.S. Senate from 1993 to 2017. She was succeeded by then-California Attorney General Kamala Harris after she chose not to seek re-election.

Legal Insurrection readers will note that I indicated that opponents of Gov. Gavin Newsom have used the escalating crime rates to persuade voters to support his recall. An attack on a former senator is likely to underscore the need to address this issue seriously.

Of course, effective solutions are not likely to occur when the explanation for the crime rate is….anti-black bias.

Hate crime in California surged 31% in 2020, fueled mainly by a big jump in crimes targeting Black people during a year that saw the worst racial strife in decades, according to an annual report released Wednesday by the state’s attorney general.

Overall hate crimes increased from 1,015 to 1,330 last year, while the number of victims increased 23%, from 1,247 to 1,536. Black people account for 6.5% of the state’s population of nearly 40 million people but were victims in 30% of all hate crimes — 456 overall, up 87% from the previous year.

“What we see from these reports is what we have seen and felt all year — we are in the midst of a racial justice reckoning in this country. It’s multi-faceted, and it cannot be solved overnight.” Attorney General Rob Bonta said.

Furthermore, it was only a few, short weeks ago that Oakland stripped $17.4 million from the police department.

“I’m challenged by the decisions that were made on Thursday around the budget for the city of Oakland, particularly for the Oakland Police Department,” Chief LeRonne Armstrong said at a Monday news conference.

“We find ourselves in a crisis,” he added. “We find ourselves reeling from a weekend of violence, where we’ve seen four homicides over a three-day period. It now has us currently at 65 homicides for the year—a 90 percent increase compared to last year.”

Other crimes in the city are also on the rise, he said, noting that shootings have gone up 70 percent this year, robberies 11 percent and carjackings nearly 88 percent.

We hope Senator Boxer fully recovers from this incident. Yet, I think this might be a great opportunity for her to reflect on some of her past positions on crime.

I am sure she has more than enough money to buy a new cell phone. In the New California, she was just supposed to let them take it. The black kid needs it more than her. I have no idea what she is complaining about.

She should check her white privilege.

It was an Equity Positive act. So, all is good.

“The black kid needs it more than her.”

Not the way she whined about it. According to CBS SF:

“I said, ‘Why would you do this to a grandma?’ I was yelling at the kid as he was running with my phone,” she chuckled. “I said ‘I want to call my grandkids, why are you doing this?’ He could care less.”

“It’s insured, isn’t it?” So then t’s “not even theft.” Your grandkids will just have to be satisfied with their massive inheritances.

Did they call her hideous ass “senator”? She worked sooooo hard for that.

That news pegged my Schadenfreude meter. It made my day.

Hate crime in California surged 31% in 2020, fueled mainly by a big jump in crimes targeting Black people during a year that saw the worst racial strife in decades, according to an annual report released Wednesday by the state’s attorney general.

Nice try, Pinocchio. What better way to divert attention from your Party’s “defund the police” insanity than a fictitious “hate crime” surge?

BTW: the Officially Approved Designation has gone from “colored” to “Black” to “African-American” back to “Black”. Will “colored” make a comeback? Hey Maxine Waters! Just grow a pair and use the term you always wanted: Master Race. Come on – it’s what you really believe, and it’s time to let your freak flag proudly fly!

The hate crime designation is the product of bias, itself. It’s an arbitrary add-on to an underlying crime, and it’s preferentially used on white people.

Yes. A thought crime is not based on the behavior of the actor, it is based on the political objective of the ruler. It is fluid.

How do the statistic keepers define “hate crime”? Can a black person ever be guilty of a hate crime when he assaults a white person? Will the thug who mugged Boxer be charged with a “hate” crime?

It is telling when the thug, whose race is not identified in the story, is assumed to be a black man.

This is not because of a racist assumption but because a black man is statistically more likely to commit a robbery than a white man in virtually every state in the union.

That’s some white privilege acting out, if I’ve ever seen it. Whatever the circumstances, if the outcome is bad for the black man it is a case of white supremacy/racism. How privileged can you get?

Is her phone worth more than $950? In California, they don’t prosecute for thefts under $950, and all the thieves know it. I suppose the assault might count for something, but only because it was against a VIP the police and press will recognize.

I feel sorry for an 80-year-old lady that gets attacked and robbed by a thug. I don’t want this kind of thing happening.

However, this is the ordinary state of affairs for non-VIPs in California right now. So if this is what it takes to wake up our benighted State and local governments, I’ll thank her after they’ve done some cleaning.

There is a $2000 reward to catch the perp(s). The Oakland police don’t offer rewards to solve crimes when the plebes are the victims, but in the oligarchy known as the Peoples Democratic Republic of California, Boxer is a royal princess.

The crime against Her Royal Highness will be swiftly solved and the attacker(s) punished. Meanwhile, the woman who was knocked unconscious and her car stolen, the family of a young man killed by a stray bullet, and the old lady whose home was burglarized will have to stop whining and just suck it up. Know thy place, proles!

She’s a registered foreign agent of a Chinese surveillance company. Could be this was the only way she could give them her government secure cell phone and contacts list …

the 2k reward is bs, cell phones can be traced, and the phone would not be any good if it were reported as stolen to the cell phone company, the mei number would have to be changed to register it with a cell phone company. stealing a cellphone is one of the stupidity things you could do.

    TX-rifraph in reply to Valerie. | July 27, 2021 at 1:27 pm

“…if this is what it takes to wake up our benighted State and local governments,…”

This is not an issue of unawareness, anarchy is the plan. Marxists destroy the culture of freedom so they can install their totalitarian evil. Crime is a useful tool for destroying a culture. Boxer is a useless outsider now. She is just now learning that.

henrybowman in reply to Valerie. | July 27, 2021 at 5:00 pm

It’s like 1/6. Stuff happens to other people, it’s not important. Anything even reminiscent of that stuff happens to them, and the sky is falling.

henrybowman in reply to Valerie. | July 27, 2021 at 5:13 pm

According to CBS SF, “Police believe the robbery targeting Boxer was a crime of opportunity since her iPhone was worth more than a thousand dollars.”
    Oops.

The Friendly Grizzly in reply to henrybowman. | July 27, 2021 at 6:04 pm

They SELL for more than $1,000. Not sure about them being worth it.

        But, but…

According to AOC and the rest of the socialists we need to legalize theft in order to decriminalize poverty. Poor people NEVER steal to fence expensive electronics. They only need to steal food, baby formula, medicine for their kids, and other items they vitally need for personal use but can’t afford to buy.

Which is why San Francisco DA Chesa Boudin* won’t prosecute obviously impoverished shoplifters who steal out desperation.

Like this gang of shoplifters looting high end handbags from a SF Neiman Marcus.

        https://news.yahoo.com/looters-ransack-san-francisco-neiman-141600425.html

“Looters ransack San Francisco Neiman Marcus in broad daylight: Video”

*Parents guilty of murder and raised by radicals, Chesa Boudin is San Francisco’s next district attorney

He’s a prosecutor with a life story unlike any other — and a very different view of the criminal justice system.”

        https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/elections/parents-guilty-murder-raised-radicals-chesa-boudin-san-francisco-s-n1101071

Somehow I gather the vast majority of MFM activists/leftist political operatives pretending but no fooling anyone that they are journalists find Boudin’s life story inspiring and his view of the criminal justice system encouraging.

She is a rich witch and can afford to hire a dog walker and if she needs exercise she can afford a gym membership or a Peloton.

Ha, Ha, Ha, Ha, Ha, Ha

Reap what you sow.

Why was she by herself on the 300 Block of Third Street (standing, walking, … ?) ? Doesn’t appear to be anything there. … And, only her cell phone was taken ? … No purse ? Was she using her cell phone ? Calling who: 911 ‘Where am I ?’, Uber, … ? … 80 years old, “pushed” and not knocked down; no bruising ? …

Who’s going to commit robbery with an accomplice (face nine years – CA Statute) and use a car to aid in identification – for a “cell phone”. Police could not triangulate and locate the phone ?

She wanted to be back in the news and kamala (who replaced her in the Senate) “laughed”, … but nancy said “show you’re one of the ‘people’, … and I’ll get my nephew to put you back in the senate, when I get rid of ‘jowee’ and jill”. … “Ya know he’s wetting and soiling himself worse than jerry ?”

Unfortunately, given her history of pathological lies and the circumstances as described I have a difficult time taking the report seriously.

Well, if you go half a block south to Washington St.,, then a block north to 4th St., then another half a block to the south there is the Alameda County Sherriff’s office.

Just mentioning it because I hope a couple of deputies were nearby to get a good laugh over this.

Sorry, I don’t remember too much sympathy from the left for Rand Paul when he was attacked by his crazy leftist neighbor, suffered broken ribs and lung damage, and is still suffering pain from the attack. Perhaps it would be a good thing if Boxer also has some permanent reminders of what it means to defund the police. The perps committed this crime a stone’s throw away from the Sherriff’s office.

Not like I expect leftists to learn anything, ever. The leftist search for “root causes” of crime always ignores one of the greatest root causes of all. Leftists and leftism.

Arminius in reply to Arminius. | July 29, 2021 at 12:25 am

Actually you’d head east on Washington St., away from the bay and toward the hills. There’s no such thing as going directly north on Washington St.

Lucifer Morningstar | July 27, 2021 at 11:41 am

The police have not offered a description of the suspect as of yet.

So we know the perpetrator was black. Because if he was white they’d have his description plastered on the front page of every media outlet across California calling for his head on a silver platter.

The Friendly Grizzly in reply to Lucifer Morningstar. | July 27, 2021 at 1:10 pm

News story when perp is black: “The robber, described as between 5 ft 6 and 6ft, between 140 and 200 lbs, was wearing a hoodie and tennis shoes. His accomplice picked him up in an old station wagon.”

News story when the perp is white: The robber, described as white, 5-11 to 6 ft tall, had red hairm blue eyes, and was wearing blue jeans and a Cleveland Indians jersey. His accomplice, also white, picked him in a highly unusual car. One witness, a car enthusiast, said it was a brown 1963 Studebaker Wagonaire, and from the sound of it, had the Studebaker “Skybolt” 6-cylinder engine.

It also occurred in Oakland. A dead giveaway

Former Senator—-

I like the sound of that!

Can’t they just use the “Find My iPhone” app??

American Human | July 27, 2021 at 2:38 pm

Why does Former Senator Barbara Boxer’s twitter feed refer to her in the third person? Did she do that while a senator? 🙂

Not one bit of pitty, she has reaped the whirlwind and hope she knows that.

“Men of no particular appearance assault elderly white female.”

“A conservative is liberal who got mugged.”

I suspect in this case more than one mugging will be needed.

    dunce1239 in reply to gospace. | July 28, 2021 at 12:34 pm

it has been reported that the perp apologized for mistaking her for an old Asian, plus he said he would give her phone back but he already sold it and bought some crack.

She was walking about in Oakland … what the hell else did she expect would happen?

Gosh, how terrible. Thoughts and prayers! LOL

“Boxer “was assaulted in the Jack London Square neighborhood of Oakland.”

I find it interesting and no little bit ironic that Boxer was assaulted in a neighborhood named in honor of a socialist, eugenics advocate, and alcoholic.

Wacky, huh?

Another Racially motivated Hate Crime that will never be prosecuted as such.

The fact that the victim in this case is partly responsible for the completely racist manner in which the US DOJ “civil rights” division operates is little comfort to the tens of thousands of other victims every year.

Unless the phone was a new model less than 3 months old it has depreciated to be worth less than a thousand dollars. Phones depreciate quicker than cars in their first year of release then it slows down.

Nothing to see here but a member of the have’s getting what they imposed on the have-not’s.

I wonder if the mugger called her Senator?

She fully deserved reaping. the results that she played a part in creating.
