WaPo Goes Full Critical Race in VIDEO: ‘White Body Supremacism is not Episodic; It’s Structural’

WaPo Goes Full Critical Race in VIDEO: ‘White Body Supremacism is not Episodic; It’s Structural’

Coming to a school and job training near you: “understanding your whiteness and the ways that white supremacy benefits you is an important part of becoming self-aware.”

Thank you, Washington Post, for giving us another example of why we do not like Critical Race Theory.

I present to you…“What is White racial identity and why is it important?”

Description: “When George Floyd died, people across the United States started to look more critically at how white supremacy affects all of us. In this episode, we talk to mental health experts and scholars about why understanding your whiteness and the ways that white supremacy benefits you is an important part of becoming self aware.”

Resmaa Menakem begins the video by telling white people “why understanding your whiteness and the ways that white supremacy benefits you is an important part of becoming self-aware.”

He adds: “Racism, racialization, white body supremacism, is not episodic; it’s structural. Remember that there were thousands of George Floyds before the one that you saw. Your bodily response to this horror, right, is not the same thing as you dealing with the structural aspects of it.”

Menakem adds later in the video, “A living, embodied, anti-racist culture does not exist among white people. White people gotta start getting together around race.”

Host Nicole Ellis claims Floyd’s death opened the minds of white people to their “whiteness and the systemic ways that white supremacy affects all of us.” She insists that white people understanding their “whiteness is integral to becoming self-aware as a white person.”

Praise of White Accountability Groups

Professor and psychologist Rebecca Toporek, an old white woman, says: “White people in particular get aroused, get upset, say this is unjust, this isn’t right, this shouldn’t happen, here’s like an awakening that happens. And so part of their racial identity development is seeing that awakening. What they do with it is really the next piece of it.”

She continues: “Part of the structure of racism in the way that it’s maintained is to keep us from recognizing that racism is part of our daily lives and so it’s a longer-term process of looking at yourself in the world, both historically, but also contextually. The family you live in, the community you live in, and what role whiteness plays in that.”

Here’s a thought. How about we speak up when we see racism? How about we blame the racist instead of all white people?

Toporek praises white accountability groups (those exist?!) for providing help “in terms of having a place to process, having a group of people whose responsibility it is to call me on things or to challenge me.”

Did Toporek admit she is a racist and has racist thoughts? Did she admit she does not speak up when she witnesses racism?

Ellis seems happy Toporek admits she attends these white accountability groups, but wants to know “the pitfalls or risks” presented to people if this is the only path a white person takes.

Toporek responds: “The biggest answer is white people don’t really understand racism. Hence, so if I’m relying on other white people to teach me about racism that can only go so far. … I only best understand racism by talking to people who are directly impacted by racism from different perspectives. So in addition to having white accountability groups and white accountability buddies, it’s also really important to have sustained and meaningful relationships with people of color.”

Ellis jumps on that point by asking, “But is it fair or healthy to be seeking out relationships with people just to have a diverse network? For I feel like, for people of color, you’re kind of constantly trying to gauge whether or not it’s worth it to be vulnerable or share how someone hurt you when your white colleagues or coworkers or friends mess up.”

Toporek has an answer as always: “There’s a different cost for my friends of color to be in a relationship with me. So I think one of the things that’s really important is ongoing, being a friend on an ongoing basis for lots of different things, not just like, thinking about racism as a part of our friendship when there’s something horrible that happens. Those relationships are, number one, for me to be there for them as them for me, it’s a relationship, and so it should be reciprocal, but also so I have a broader understanding of the world.”

Small Town Oklahoma = Whiteness Comfort

Crisis interventionist Kelsey Arias brought up her upbringing in a small Oklahoma town where “whiteness was the default and whiteness was the comfort.” Therefore, her small town is the reason why she might have racist tendencies.

“The more you dive into that, the more I’m really realizing how deeply rooted racism is into, like, my everyday thought process,” stresses Arias. “No matter how much you work at that there’s still even almost work to be done.”

Arias’s testimony hits close to home since I live in Oklahoma. It is true the small towns lack diversity. However, when I student taught and observed at a small-town school, I saw teachers teaching students about slavery, racism, the Civil War, etc.

Arias complains, “I don’t have the ability, to like, inherently name things as upholding white supremacy or being racist. My whiteness is going to show up at different points in my life and at different points in my relationships.”

In other words, do not hold Arias accountable if she says something racist.

School Only Taught From a White Perspective

Ilyse Kennedy, a trauma therapist, adds some icing to the cake: “We’re unpacking wrong things that we have been taught in history class. I realized that I needed to back and unpack and reorganize everything that I had learned because it was completely through a white lens. Most of us, in doing this work, have experienced this, where there’s a period of deep shame for being white and acknowledging the harm that our ancestors have caused. And that is a very legitimate piece of this work. And — we can’t ask people of color to hold our hands through the shame piece; that needs to happen with other white people.”

Kennedy then grieves, “Everything I thought about how I existed in my white body in the world was very wrong and I needed this new lens to see the world through. So I think that been a big piece of my own work.”

Really? I learned slavery is bad, everyone is created equal, the color of your skin is not important, and that it is a damn shame it took 100 years after the Civil War for the government to treat everyone equally.

Also, how do these people manage to trace their ancestors to those who specifically have a history in colonialism, slavery, etc?

CRT in a Nutshell

This video incorporates the criticisms of CRT: teaching white people they are inherently racist because of the color of their skin. White supremacy somehow helps all white people and therefore we’re also white supremacists or something.

If people used CRT to go in-depth about the Civil War, slavery, Reconstruction, and the Civil Rights Movement then fine.

But no. The WaPo video shows us the truth about CRT. According to Ellis, they’ll have more videos addressing this issue in the future.

I cannot wait.

To believe that you would have to be a racist. You say something collective about a race and when you’re called out for being a racist you say oh no not me. Put your money where your mouth is. Give that job up.

WaPo MAJOR FLAW — FLOYD’S DEATH WAS NOT A RESULT OF RACISM

WaPo implies that Floyd was killed due to a racist cop. Deviously, they never outright say his death involved racism.

In fact, even the MN Attorney General (Ellison) said “racism was not a factor” in Floyd’s death. And prosecutors never once presented a single shred of evidence that the cop was racist or motivated by the color of Floyd’s skin. I, and many others, were waiting for the moment they would make the case that the cop was a racist. I felt they surely had to do so – not only because they have to show motive for murder – but also to justify the riots/arson and BLM narrative that the cop was the poster-child for racism in the USA. Surely, the investigators would have left no stone unturned in the hunt for a racist motive. So the failure to make a case for a racist motive was astounding. The prosecution silence on this topic spoke volumes to the false and destructive BLM / Progressive propaganda that we had all be subject to for 9 months.

Now, not only did WaPo fail to report to its readers that the BLM narrative was blown by the prosecutors failure to even attempt to make a case for a racist intent – they spin the Floyd case as if the cop was proven to be a racist.

This is beyond disingenuous. It is deceitful and coercive. Everyone with a voice in media – on FOX and other stations – should highlight this profound and revealing inconsistency.

So far, I have yet to see even conservative media reveal this fact. FLOYD’S DEATH WAS NOT A RESULT OF RACISM.

AFTER 9 MONTHS OF RIOTING – ANY OTHER HEADLINE IS BURYING THE LEDE.

So, Floyd was NOT an example of (1) Systemic Racism; (2) White Supremacy; (3) Extra Culpability of the City – which one would expect as justification for $27 million Payout using taxpayer $$.

We were told for months that it was. we were told society must be turned upside down. That our country and perhaps every movement and thought – was saturated in racism – whether we know it or not. These were all lies. Now, post-trial, any continuation of these lies is knowingly misleading the people.

When will it be time to start punching these racist motherfuckers in the mouth?

Ah. Refusing training is a dangerous thing to do.

Far better is to ask the trainer to stop, use gentle language to point out that their material breaks the law, and invite them to continue in a manner that doesn’t illegally discriminate.

Then you can go through the whole formal grievance process.

Laugh at them. Mock them. Humilate them. Vote them out of office. Fire them from your school districts. Boycott their media.

If that doesn’t work in their leaving us alone, we[ll be taking advice from to Paul.

When they’re within range and they start calling you “racist” to your face, that’d be about the right time.

henrybowman | June 21, 2021 at 5:45 pm

What bullshit.

We put up with 50 years of people screaming “Black Power!” Whites never screamed “White Power!” — those few who did were infiltrated, persecuted by the FBI, and imprisoned and/or ruined.

Yet we’re the ones with the “racial identity.”

Well, if one is going to be forced upon me, I may as well start shouting about how much I like it. Whites have 50 years of racial identity — racial solidarity — to catch up on, and now a whole lot of time left to organize it.

The Friendly Grizzly in reply to henrybowman. | June 21, 2021 at 7:24 pm

You are correct. It is time for some white solidarity. See my note about about walking out of things like this en masse.

It is time to tell advertisers: we want white people backs in ads again, White families, not just white people.

It is time to tell WalMart, Kroger, Walgreens, McDs, and other outfits, that boom-chucka-muthah-f….h music over the PA system is NOT acceptable, and we don’t give a good G——-n it’s black hysteria month.

It is time to tell school boards that our kids are there to learn how to deal with numbers, learn their nation’s history, customs, and Constitution (un-mofified), how to write declaraive sentences, and how to read. Period.

It is time for us to demand an end to racial quotas, race-normed test scores, and contract set-asides. The Tom Sowells, Walter Williams’s, the David Clarkes, will still fare well. The Cornell Wests will be in their rightful place as restroom attendants or janitors, Shiela Jackson-Lee will be cleaning hotel rooms. Let the blacks who can, do. Do not saddle the talented ones with thee burden of “he got the job because of affirmative action”.

    Yeah. Racist, yada yada.

      Guys,

IMO by adopting the tribalism doctrine of our ideological opposition you are allowing yourself to be manipulated into creating what doesn’t now exist: an identifiable ‘white supremacy’ movement.

The primary goal of CRT/Equity is to have as many fools agree to a Maoist reduction/indoctrination as possible.

The secondary goal is to generate a response based upon tribalism which creates the things that our ideological opposition projects onto us; racism.

Don’t fall for it. Continue to embrace the vision of MLK and denounce racism. Don’t let them trap or trick you into becoming something you are not.

The Friendly Grizzly in reply to CommoChief. | June 21, 2021 at 10:47 pm

henrybowman in reply to CommoChief. | June 22, 2021 at 2:32 am

Supremacy? Never said anything like that.

        Pride in our culture, yes.
Demand that we be treated exactly the same as anyone else, yes.
Rejection of set-asides based on color, yes.
A strong statement that politicians mess with any of the above at their peril, damn skippy.

Absolute nothing there that dear MLK wouldn’t agree with.

        Henry,

Okay that’s fair. Substitute ‘identity’ for supremacy .

JusticeDelivered | June 21, 2021 at 5:46 pm

Here is my take on this.

While colonization was difficult, people who were colonized did benefit in may ways. They often intermarried, with successive generations benefiting from increased intelligence. They also benefited from better technology, materials, medical advances and better cultural practices.

henrybowman in reply to JusticeDelivered. | June 22, 2021 at 2:38 am

To put it more simply, people of color flock to (and over) our borders, demanding to be let in. Nobody flocks to the Ethiopian Airlines ticket counter demanding to be let out.

George Floyd made people think that blacks have criminally poor impulse control, which is part of race realism that even Charles Murray, trying to be as non-controversial as possible while still sending the message, takes up.

Structural racism attributes it to some gas that wafts around instead.

What the structural racism gas actually conceals is that blacks have as an average a significantly lower IQ than whites, and so as an average don’t do as well. Schools are no help: they should be teaching good character instead of resentment. There’s a job for everybody of good character; there are no jobs for guys with a chip on their shoulder and a bad attitude.

Most of black criminal behavior is probably a rational way to seek status given that academic avenues aren’t easy for the bottom rungs. Acting out, status seeking, and defying authority. Typical young male behavior finely encouraged on blacks by their helpful media and leaders, completely self-defeating.

So I say criminality is not a first cause – no clear avenue to success is the first cause, and a school system and media that won’t sell good character as the path to success.

JusticeDelivered in reply to rhhardin. | June 21, 2021 at 6:09 pm

“Acting out, status seeking, and defying authority. ”

This is very common in classrooms, where really dull children disrupt the class, they do so because they just cannot hack it.

When there is 3-4 or more of these children in a class, then hardly anyone learns.

Dennis in reply to rhhardin. | June 21, 2021 at 6:26 pm

“What the structural racism gas actually conceals is that blacks have as an average a significantly lower IQ than whites, and so as an average don’t do as well.”

You don’t think the lower average intelligence level of African Americans might be, to some extent, the result of their lower social status? Concentrated poverty, environmental racism, etc?

rhhardin in reply to Dennis. | June 21, 2021 at 7:04 pm

That was certainly a hope for a long time. It doesn’t seem to be true. People were prepared to hope for an even longer time but started to get called racists to account for what turned out to be the result of hoping and trying to help, so the matter comes to a head.

The point of the head is making the right public policy choices instead of the wrong ones. Teach good character, find ways to valorize it.

Forrest Gump wasn’t a film about a dumb guy; it was a film about good character.

Milhouse in reply to rhhardin. | June 21, 2021 at 7:59 pm

Then how to account for the high performance of Africans in checkers and Scrabble? See the work of Chanda Chisala, as quoted by David Friedman:

In 2015, of the ten top players in the French Scrabble championship, three were from France, three from Gabon, three more from other African countries. Gabon is an ex-French colony with a population of 1.7 million. If one believes Richard Lynn’s figures on its IQ average and standard deviation, there should not be a single person in the country close to the intelligence level required to be a top Scrabble player. Similar arguments make it very nearly impossible that Nigeria could have as many of the world’s top players of English Scrabble as it does if his estimates were close to correct.

JusticeDelivered in reply to Milhouse. | June 21, 2021 at 8:55 pm

Intelligence tests more than one area of the brain, Scoring well in one area does not mean the person is intelligent in the broader sense, the most extreme example of this are idiot savants.

African citizens are quite sophisitcated. Shaka Zulu, for example, was a genius warrior.

And who better does Nigerian 419 scams than Nigerians?

American blacks would be miles ahead but for democrat racists who enslaved them to ghettos and perpetual victimization, and allowing themselves to be led by the likes of Al Sharpton, Jesse Jackson and the like.

French Scrabble? I was never ever able to spell correctly even one French word. I was always amazed they seemed to be able to do it. Knock the French all you want, but they sure can spell some French words. And some guy from Africa can do it better? That’s is truly amazing, indeed.

artichoke in reply to Milhouse. | June 21, 2021 at 9:29 pm

I think black people can be quite verbally adept, to the extent that it’s surprising how innumerate they are, and lacking spatial reasoning ability, typically of course.

Scrabble is a verbal game. But we don’t see black spelling bee champions, which should seem to go along with it.

You also mention checkers, a game which calls on spatial reasoning ability. But what is the performance of black people? The checkers champions I recall were white, but I don’t know much about who the top players are.

There is at least one black chess grandmaster, there may be more, but there aren’t many.

First of all, they value a very sound education. Secondly, the Bell doesn’t have a sharp high end cut off. There are smart people everywhere with every skin tone. There has to be an excuse for uniformly poor performance in certain groups and one dare not look at what values they place on education and hard work… just look at the definition of “whiteness” at the African American Museum of the Smithsonian.

I think it is behaviorially related. Do poor white people act that way? “Environmental racism”? lolz

artichoke in reply to rhhardin. | June 21, 2021 at 9:33 pm

Good character, per se, is not an avenue to success. One also needs to realize one’s relative strengths in remunerative activities and settle for what’s attainable.

Or, blame “structural racism” and “the man” for keeping you down. That can seem far more appealing, especially if a lot of other people will do it with you and you can talk a bunch of white simps into verbally stroking you and giving you stuff because of it.

That was funny. But the dumb girls in the video (or rather, their writers) failed to explain what to do when the Hitlers of the world attack. (Probably what Pajama Boy would do:

    Wear pajamas.

    Drink hot chocolate.

    Think about concentration camps.

Please oh please keep this up all the way through to the 2024 elections. d/progressive I don’t want you to lose hope when this is shoved where the sun don’t shine in the midterms. You just need to reform and charge again all the way to electoral irrelevancy.

This assumes, of course, those elections are free and fair. That there won’t be widespread election fraud.

And that the Dem/media/Big Tech propaganda, political oppression, and censorship campaign doesn’t work.

These things gave the Marxists the WH and Senate in 2020. And they’re are ramping up the effort using the full force of a federal government they now completely control. With the continuing support of NeverTrump and the much of the GOPe.

CommoChief in reply to JHogan. | June 21, 2021 at 10:05 pm

2016 worked out in spite of those obstacles and the not yet ‘proven’ fraudulent aspects of the 2020 elections are being discovered and disseminated.

Many States have already enacted reforms to mitigate if not eliminate the potential for a repeat of those actions.

If not in your State then you have some work ahead of you in pushing your State Legislature and State Office holders to adopt similar legislation.

The problems you describe won’t be wished away they will only be removed by rolling up the sleeves and getting to work.

henrybowman in reply to CommoChief. | June 22, 2021 at 2:46 am

2016 worked only because the differential in the vote was huge beyond anything the Democrats reasonably expected, and they didn’t have enough cheat prestocked on the shelves. And it still got thrown into the Electoral College.

Ellis claims Floyd’s death opened the minds of white people to their “whiteness and the systemic ways that white supremacy affects all of us.”
_____________

What bullsh*t.

George Floyd’s death had absolutely nothing to do with “systemic racism” (which is mainly a myth), or “whiteness” or “white supremacy” or any of that other nonsense that black people like to use to try and excuse their own excesses and failures.

Floyd died because he was a junkie and a criminal, with a severely diseased heart, who swallowed a fistful of speedballs when he saw the cops coming. Nobody forced Floyd to choose the lifestyle he lived. There were many other choices he could have made. Floyd and only Floyd is responsible for the mess his life was in that day, when he was stumbling around in the convenience store stoned on drugs, alongside his drug dealer and fellow criminal, passing counterfeit $20 bills. Floyd and only Floyd is responsible for Floyd’s choice to try and hide his illegal drugs from the cops by swallowing his drug stash. Floyd and only Floyd is responsible for Floyd’s choice to fight with the cops, rather than cooperate. Floyd and only Floyd is responsible for Floyd’s failure to take care of his health, and take his blood pressure medications.

Floyd’s life wasn’t a mess because of white supremacy or structural racism or any of that other bullshit. Floyd’s life was a mess because of stupid, irresponsible, reckless choices that Floyd made throughout his lifetime. He had plenty of opportunities to make other, better choices. He chose not to. That’s on him.

“Whiteness” had zero to do with it.

My race has been negligible in terms of advantage or disadvantage in my life. I suspect my study habits and horrid memory for formulas and names are what mostly held me back, but balanced in the positive by my refusal to smoke, drink, do drugs, mess around before marriage, commit crimes, or various other social habits that responsible people do.

Thanks Mom and Dad.

So true, my biological farther ran off when I was 3, my mother came from poor circumstances, but married a teacher. He adopted me, and frankly was my salvation. He anchored my mother long enough for me to grow up.

As a result, I highly valued education, I learned a work ethic working with him in the summer in our large garden, my first entrenpeur experience was a 12 years old selling fresh vegetables door to door, and got to keep the money.. During the school year, his paychecks were every other week, and I was allowed one tool from a big bin at the supermarket. His example made me a good father.

Lack of that kind of example is why so many children are incapable of becoming responsible adults and parents.

The Bride and I watched a documentary about the Holocaust, “We Will Not Die Now,” that streams on Amazon Prime.

All I can say is, “OMG, watch it.”

You’re white. You were born bad. You were born to oppress. You must work hard to make up for your inherent evil DNA.

According to the new Marxist definition of racism, these assertions are not themselves racist. Because only whites can be racists.

However, if you were to replace white with any other color the assertions are racist and pure evil.

Clearly they no longer teach logic and reason in American universities. Because, obviously, they’re racist tools of white supremacy.

The next step in this process is what happens to whites when they don’t work hard enough to overcome their racist DNA. Keep in mind only whites are racists. And all whites are born racist. Given the objective is to cleanse the world of racism, guess what are the options are.

My mother had the perfect expression for nonsense like this. She’d say dismissively “to hell with *that* noise!”

Let us never forget: obama owns all of this hate.

I feel like we’re in one of the later, sucky seasons of survivor where some people want to build stuff and win while others want to sit around and sulk/moan about their feels. There’s only one thing consistent in all of those seasons…the “friendships” are transactional and as fake as they come.

I’d rather listen to a bunch of Scientologists prattle on about thetans and Xenu.

There is no such thing as “white” people. I try to avoid any racial connotations, whenever possible, but, this is a word that I refuse to invoke. The phrase is a pejorative, dehumanizing, racist phrase used by the vile Dhimmi-crats to lump millions of people into a single category and to strip them of their individuality, their personal experiences and their unique backgrounds. Just contemplate how the vile Dhimmi-crats laughably claim that Jews — one of history’s most marginalized groups, consistently considered to be “the other,” for millennia — are now magically “white.” There are people of Russian, Polish, English, Irish, Italian, Croatian, Finnish, Swedish, Norwegian, Dutch, Spanish and Portuguese descent. But, I don’t call them “white.” The vile Dhimmi-crats can take their racist, tribalist, Balkanizing rhetoric and shove it where the Sun don’t shine.

SOCIAL DISTANCING TODAY, SOCIAL DISTANCING TOMORROW, SOCIAL DISTANCING FOREVER!

For the life of me I don’t think the George Floyd incident was racial, I don’t remember Chauvin being accused of anything racial in the trial either.
For the life of me I don’t think January 6 had anything to do with race either.

I think people who spend all their time obsessed with race are the racists.
