Liberals Lose Their Minds After Jon Stewart Makes Case for COVID Leaking From Wuhan Lab

“The disease is the same name as the lab. That’s just a little too weird!”

Stephen Colbert’s show went back to a live studio audience this week and one of his first guests was his mentor Jon Stewart, who immediately expressed his belief that COVID-19 leaked from the lab in Wuhan, China.

Colbert’s legions of liberal fans proceeded to freak out on Twitter.

The amazing thing about Stewart’s case is that if you said something like this a month ago, you would be accused of spreading conspiracy theories and risk banishment from social media.

Tim Hains of Real Clear Politics has details:

Jon Stewart Argues For Wuhan Lab Leak Theory: “The Disease Is The Same Name As The Lab!”

Former “Daily Show” host Jon Stewart appeared to go all-in on the Wuhan coronavirus lab leak theory on Monday’s “The Late Show.” Stewart was Stephen Colbert’s first guest with a full studio audience since the start of the pandemic.

“This is not a conspiracy,” Stewart said about the theory that COVID-19 leaked from a lab in Wuhan, China. “Oh my god, there’s a novel respiratory coronavirus overtaking Wuhan, China, what do we do? Oh, you know who we could ask? The Wuhan novel respiratory coronavirus lab. The disease is the same name as the lab. That’s just a little too weird!”

“I will say this — and I honestly mean this — I think we owe a great debt of gratitude to science. Science has, in many ways, helped ease the suffering of this pandemic, which was more than likely caused by science,” he said.

Here’s a quick clip:

If you watch the full segment below, you can hear Colbert respond by asking when Stewart went to work for Sen. Ron Johnson (R-WI). Colbert’s feeble, partisan mind couldn’t respond in any other way:

Now that Jon Stewart has said this, we all have permission:

People on the left did not respond well to this.

My two cents:

“Chinese American have been murdered because of this COVID 19 pandemic.”

No they haven’t. It’s because of CRT which is encouraging black people to commit hate crimes against other races.

Stephen Colbert should retire. He has not been funny for many years.

He is nothing but a political hack now. He is terrible at comedy, terrible at informing his viewers. It’s hard to actually watch him for more than 10 minutes.

God, I miss Carson. The late nighter’s now are the joke.

Really? You can watch him for 10 minutes?
    Not even on mute!

Like him or not, Jon Stewart is one of the few ‘comics’ on the left who are truly funny people. (Bill Mahr is another; Jimmy Kimmel used to be one, but he’s completely lost his mind.)

Stephen Colbert is bizarre in the fact of how UNfunny this guy is. It really is amazing.

As an aside, regarding the title, and in general usage, I cordially suggest not using the term “liberal” to describe any belief system or its adherents thereto, other than the classical ideology that embraces free speech and other concepts antithetical to the modern left. I’ve attempted to replace the typical use for “liberal” in my lexicon with terms at least as descriptive as “leftist.”

“Liberals Lose Their Minds After Jon Stewart Makes Case for COVID Leaking From Wuhan Lab”

Another point for accuracy in the headline – Liberals lost their minds a long time ago.

When you consider how cloistered liberals are in terms of the information they allow into their minds, are they crazy, or just horribly deluded?

Ask any otherwise ‘normal’ German who lived through the rise of Hitler and WW2.

Correct. The classical usage of “Liberal” is closer to describing what we now call “Libertarian” or even “Conservative” . The Left changes the language to fit their purposes. Liberals are fine, it is the Left that is the danger.

The Democrat party (and most of the GOP) and not”Liberals, they are Leftists.

Adjectives ring a bell with me. “Right” is almost always modified with “Far”, or “Extreme”. Have you ever seen anyone described as “Far Left” or “Extreme Liberal”.

Thought not. You cannot be too far Left.

I’m not a huge fan of Stewart – – too smarmy and abrasive. But I do think he is funny.

Best takeaway line of the whole thing:
“ ‘Oh, my God, there’s been an outbreak of chocolaty goodness near Hershey, Pa. What do you think happened?’ ” Stewart said. “Like, ‘Oh I don’t know, maybe a steam shovel mated with a cocoa bean?’ Or it’s the [expletive] chocolate factory! Maybe that’s it?”

He beat the Babylon Bee to it.

Jon Stewart was a Psychology major in college and then a stand-up comic. Why does anyone care about his hypothesis about COVID?

It reminds me of John Lennon, a sheltered British guitar -laying multimillionaire, lecturing Americans about geopolitics in the 70s.

“Why does anyone care about his hypothesis about COVID?”

Because he is a liberal opinion leader, for whatever reason, and his opinion on this issue will affect how many on the other side view it. He also bashed the zoonotic transfer crowd and the conflicted and corrupt “scientists” with effective public ridicule to an audience that needs to hear it, which is also good.

The funniest a comedian can be is when there is truth to the subject of his comedy. Any idiot reading both sides of the ‘news’ would undertstand why Stewart’s take was so funny: because of the idiocy of Colbert not seeing (or ingnoring) the FLYING obvious.

The irony is just delicious.

The left continues to eat itself. We just need to sit back and enjoy it. With or without the worthless masks. Just ask Fauci !

Amen to that! If only they were ‘liberal’. While we are at it I wish writers would drop the ‘far left’ when describing that species. They are leftists or lefties. No qualifier of ‘far’ is needed. It’s like saying ‘football ball’.

Stewart is a delusional narcissist with occasional moments of clarity, not unlike Bill Maher.

They are two peas…Colbert, on the other hand, lacks even those moments. He brings no value as a human being.

The insufferably obnoxious, snarky and smug Colbert is utterly vile. That said, Jon Stewart deserves no praise. When his show was on the air, he was constantly propping up and advancing the Dhimmi-crat narrative, treating Dhimmi-crat guests with kid gloves, fawning over the vile Obama, never asking tough questions of Dhimmi-crats, ever. And, of course, he always treated conservatives with hostility, mockery and disdain. Stewart was never an even-handed comedian. And, his entire shtick — to use comedy to promote “serious” political discussion — was ultimately undermined by his obvious political bias. Even Bill Maher, who is exasperatingly Leftist, will (to his credit) sometimes take the Dhimmi-crats to task for their obnoxious, totalitarian excesses.

So, I don’t care if Stewart has displayed a common-sense epiphany, regarding the Wuhan virus bioweapon — I view this guy with total contempt, based on his past behavior and political attitudes. In other words, it’s a little late to come to the party, with your newfound iconoclastic attitudes.

When Stewart had a major media platform — when speaking up against the Dhimmi-crat narrative would have mattered — he dutifully and fecklessly carried Dhimmi-crat water, just like the rest of the Leftist media prostitutes/clowns/lemmings.

Whether Stewart deserves any kudos here: he does. But it doesn’t elevate him to a trustworthy source of anything: he was just hiliariously funny, and Colbert looked like the dummy the joke was one.

It was fun, But it also proved why no comedians are funny anymore – and why Colbert has never been funny – they fail to mock the baffoonery of their leftist paymasters.

Jon Stewart will fill a venue in Las Vegas, because there will be a lot of laughs, in spite of his politics. Colbert couldn’t fill the a corner of a local coffee house on Saturday night: because he’s pathetically unfunny.

I REALLY wish so-called ‘conservatives’ would stop acting like something is a story when idiots like Maher or Stewart say something.

This is simply them starting to acknowledge that the lie is no longer believable.

Don’t discount the importance of this: the audience was roaring in laughter: at preening fool Colbert. It set a great precedent: money talks, and if club owners and tv comedy producers want to make the big money, they have to provide laughs.

Stewart, whether he intended to or not, broke the log jam. And, it was hilarious!

Agree, Olinser. We knew these things over a year ago and now Stewart says it? Pull the other one.

Headline: “Liberals Lose Their Minds…”

Not possible. You cannot lose something you do not have.

Stewart’s position is very scientific. It’s a simple case of Occam’s Razor, which says “If you’re walking down Broadway and you hear the sound of hooves approaching from behind, think horses, not zebras.

This virus came from the lab up the street, not pangolins, If you assert that the obvious answer is wrong, then it’s your job to offer proof to support your position. Name-calling doesn’t cut it.

Those who oppose his remarks as racist are welcome to their opinion, but Stewart’s position is absolutely scientific, to the core.
