Gay Man Accidentally Slams Pickup Into Florida Gay Pride Parade – Leftists Blame … Gov. Ron DeSantis

Before the facts were known, Fort Lauderdale mayor claimed the accident was an assassination attempt on Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz.

For some reason, lefties love to live in their own personal little hell in which everyone who is not exactly like them must be evil, racist, homophobic, and all the ics and ists they can dream up.  The joyless left thrives on their own hate and misery and want to spread it around to everyone else.  So it’s unsurprising when something happens, and they all immediately assume the worst, most hateful explanation and gleefully spew bile and vomit nonsense.

As a prime example, this weekend a truck driven by a member of the Ft Lauderdale Gay Men’s Chorus accidentally ran over some people, killing one, at a gay pride parade.  Naturally, the left—starting with Fort Lauderdale mayor Dean Trantalis—hears that a truck plowed into a gay pride parade and jumps to the conclusion, not waiting for actual facts, that it must be some anti-gay, MAGA-hat wearing redneck “terrorist” who hates democracy.

Oh, and it wasn’t “just” anti-gay, it was—somehow in Trantalis’ fevered little brain—an attempt to assassinate Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz. Yes, really.

Florida Local10 reports:

Fort Lauderdale Mayor Dean Trantalis, who was at the parade, said the truck missed Wasserman Schultz’s car “by inches” before crashing through a gate and into a plant nursery.

He said shortly after the crash that he believed it was a deliberate attempted attack of the Democratic congresswoman.

“This is a terrorist attack against the LGBT community,” Trantalis told Local 10 News. “This is exactly what it is. Hardly an accident. It was deliberate, it was premeditated, and it was targeted against a specific person. Luckily they missed that person, but unfortunately, they hit two other people.”

They just can’t help themselves.  Even after they learn the truth, they still blame Florida Gov. DeSantis.  Because apparently it’s his fault they are ridiculous.

One minute after it happened, before any facts are known, the Mayor blurts out, “This is a terrorist attack against the LGBT community,” And people all over the internet began accusing Trump supporters and white supremecists of terrorism. After all, DOJ told us that is the greatest threat we face in America today.

A then a little later, the facts come out. It’s an accident.

Okay, so what did we learn from this? Nothing.

And, one minute after the news git the wires, there were the usual “faggot” remarks from the closet cases who comment at sites like citizen free press and the liberty daily.

It has become highly obvious that Progressive politicians are using a complicit media to further their drive to initiate an internecine war in our country. Why?

Because the Dims have learned that it helps them to “Never let a good crisis go to waste.”

But what do they do when there aren’t enough “good” crises to leverage for more power?

    Create some more.

Come on man, a very large number of people think Bruce Jenner is a woman. Truth and reality are strangers to them.

The left’s obsession with attempting to demonize the right at every opportunity, without regard to who gets caught in their fire is just sickening.

If karma’s a bitch, we need that bitch to show up big time.

Most idiotic pseudonym since “Allahpundit”.

So, this had nothing to do with legislation that would permit drivers to flee if they feared for their lives when violent protesters threaten them, even if that meant striking said protesters with their vehicle. It was not an assassination attempt against Congresswoman Ramen-Hair. Nor was it a “terrorist attack” on the LGBT community.

Seems an awful lot of irresponsible people experienced premature regurgitation of divisive left-wing-nut talking points without bothering to gather facts before opening their pie holes…again.

I was under the impression the legislation you refer to actually limits the liability of a driver accidentally hitting a protestor. It had nothing to do with the scenario you paint. It’s a pretty troublesome law carving out a free pass on running over someone just because they exercising there democratic rights .

      Danny in reply to mark311. | June 20, 2021 at 5:58 pm

What the legislation states is that if protesters surround your car and threaten you you are entitled to defend yourself by escaping by driving through them, it was in reaction to protesters surrounding cars and attacking drivers.

You do have a right to protest, you do not have a right to abduct other people, and you don’t have a right to do violence on them and put them in a reasonable fear for their lives which surrounding them and threatening them is.

I do not think the law in Europe permits such behavior either and have yet to see European protesters do such a thing.

        mark311 in reply to Danny. | June 23, 2021 at 6:38 pm

That’s not what the legislation says at all I quote

“(1) A person may not obstruct or interfere with the regular
19 flow of vehicular traffic on a public road, street, or highway
20 during a protest or demonstration for which a public assembly
21 permit or other applicable special event permit has not been
22 issued by a county or municipality. A person who violates this
23 subsection commits a misdemeanor of the second degree,
        24 punishable as provided in s. 775.082 or s. 775.083.
25 (2) A motor vehicle operator who unintentionally causes
26 injury or death to a person who obstructs or interferes with the
27 regular flow of vehicular traffic in violation of subsection (1)
28 is not liable for such injury or death. In any action brought
29 pursuant to this section, a person accused of violating 30 subsection (1) or his or her representative has the burden of
31 proving that he or she did not violate subsection (1) or that
32 the injury or death was not unintentional.

Its pretty clear that its a deliberate attempt to make it difficult to penalise drivers who run protestors down. It has nothing to do with whether or not that driver is intimidated or threatened only the mere presence of a protestor on a highway without a permit. That’s literally it. Its fucking disgusting.

The point is that this tragedy had absolutely nothing to do with the legislation championed by DeSantis and the Left were trying to hang it around his neck as though he or the legislation were somehow responsible. Your response also highlights the desirability of being familiar with the facts before opining.

      Milhouse in reply to mark311. | June 21, 2021 at 1:19 am

There is no democratic right to block a public road and prevent people from going about their lawful business. I believe that when confronted with such an illegal blockade, whether it’s a demonstration, a picket line, or anything else, and they refuse to move when requested, it ought to be completely lawful to drive through them, and they or their estates should then be held liable for any damage to the vehicle. It shouldn’t even matter whether the driver is in fear of his life, though that is very often the case.

        mark311 in reply to Milhouse. | June 23, 2021 at 6:49 pm

This is about proportionality. Its absolutely wrong to inflict injury or death on another person out of inconvenience to your drive. In that’s situation call the police or find another route or both. Often the case they are in fear of there lives? Really that’s supported by evidence is it. I highly doubt that. I’m actually pretty disgusted by your comment which is in effect that a person can casually commit murder without penalty which is fundamentally what you are suggesting. Its been well reported that cars have been deliberately used to intimidate and kill protestors. The right to assemble peacefully is a first amendment right and you seem to be putting driver convenience ahead of that.

That’s the core function of Blue-Anon.
And put your damn mask on!

Transgender spectrum, huh.

It’s a pride parade. He was probably looking for lions, lionesses, and their [unPlanned] cubs playing in gay revelry. Instead, he was distracted by men and women indulging in liberal excess.

As for leftism, past (e.g. Jew privilege), present (e.g. White privilege), and progressive, diversity [dogma] (i.e. color judgment), not limited to racism, sexism, ageism, breeds adversity. Lose your Pro-Choice, selective, opportunistic, relativistic (“ethical”) religion practiced under a Rainbow banner of inclusive exclusion (e.g. black, brown), a weird and bigoted symbol to associate with human life.

“Never let a crisis go to waste.”

“Wait for the facts to come out? But that wouldn’t advance our narrative!”

It’s almost as if the d /progressive actually want dead bodies so long as those are made dead by their political rivals so they can then blame their rivals …..even when they aren’t responsible.

How can you “assassinate” DWS? She’s been brain dead for years.

Hey JB
You around?

Reading all these people posting factually incorrect opinion based upon their own bias and prejudice should be alarming but in reality it is the world that we live in today. These people drawing conclusions before the authorities completed even a partial investigation is where we are now.
It also pertains to those who posted that the driver was under the influence. This afternoon the police have released a statement saying that the driver was not impaired. He was a 77 year old male.
from an nbc6 miami story:
The driver remained on scene and is cooperating with investigators. A DUI investigation of the driver was conducted on scene and showed no signs of impairment.

No wonder people have less faith in the elected class and those in the regular and social media.

Let’s make a deal with the left:

WE take resopnsibilty for this parade’s victims, and THEY in turn take responsiblity for the 25 people killed during the blm riots. And all the other damage done from the Covid scam.

Deal?

Looks like a complete accident. Hey, anyone remember when a lefty tried to run over a GOP Congresswoman praying in front of an abortion clinic?

Anti-gay violence is a real thing. It happens and it’s horrible. But it’s not usually lethal, or spectacular. So the left keeps manufacturing incidents and seeing anti-gay attacks where they’re not there: That puts this incident in a class with the Pulse nightclub shooting, and with Matthew Sheppard (though in that case there was good reason to believe, originally, that it was an anti-gay hate crime; the evidence that it wasn’t only came out later).

Looks like we are in the early stages of “DeSantis Derangement Syndrome”, which will only get worse the more that DeSantis rises in the GOP polls.

Remember Ashli Babbitt!
