Biden Says Delta COVID Variant Won’t Trigger New Lockdowns

But he won’t rule it out either!

A couple of days ago, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) listed the “Delta” variant of the SARS-CoV-2 virus that causes COVID-19 as a “variant of concern.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) yesterday said that Delta, a highly transmissible COVID-19 variant first identified in India and currently sweeping through the United Kingdom, now makes up at least 10% of all US cases. On May 22, the variant had made up only 2.7% of cases.

The CDC also now designated Delta as a variant of concern, which means the agency officially recognizes that the variant may carry a risk of more severe illness and transmissibility. In addition to Delta, the CDC has noted five other variants of concern.

The rapid rise of the variant in the United Kingdom—where it now accounts for 90% of cases—has slowed that nation’s reopening efforts by 4 or 5 weeks.

In a press conference at the White House on Friday, Biden said that the Delta variant of COVID-19 won’t trigger new lockdowns in the U.S., but he is strongly encouraging vaccinations to prevent infections.

“No, it’s not a lockdown, but some areas will be very hurt,” Biden said at the White House as he celebrated the administration of 300 million vaccine shots during his first 150 days in office.

“Where people have gotten two shots, that Delta variant is highly unlikely to result in anything other than, I mean, it’s — the existing vaccines are very effective,” he said.

However, he wouldn’t rule it out entirely, either.

President Joe Biden said Friday that it is “unlikely” the coronavirus’s Delta variant will force the U.S. into another lockdown but hesitated to rule it out.

…”People getting seriously ill and being hospitalized due to COVID-19 are those that have not been fully vaccinated. The new variant will leave unvaccinated people even more vulnerable than they are,” Biden said. “This is a serious concern, especially because of what experts are calling the Delta variant. It’s a variant that is more easily transmissible, potentially deadlier and particularly dangerous for young people.”

The president added that “the best way to protect yourself against these variants” is to get fully vaccinated.

The governors of Michigan, California, and Noo Yuck just got a bright new idea. TY, Lord, I don’t live there.

Of course there will be lockdowns. No government entity will post up the opportunity to exercise control.

Lockdowns are reserved for people who are immune, but not inoculated. Vaccine profits and sociopolitical control matter. Science does not. That said, take a knee, beg, good boy, girl, whatever.

NY, CA and MI governors have not yet declared the COVID emergency to be over, just in case, ya know. If the Delta variant hits even moderately hard those three states will shut down again, IMHO.

    What about PA?

Planned Parent/hood reduces the deplorable population and relieves the Medicare/Medicaid “burden”.

It’s not over in NM either. The state is supposed to fully reopen July 1st unless our grasping governor can find another pretext to continue restrictions.

So many trial balloons.

So few pricking them.

Lets hope Delta Coronavirus zeros in on the right people. Like Marxists.

Biotech has so far to go.

“The Fauch” was quoted yesterday saying that the vaccine will protect against all variants. No word on whether that applies to those who recovered from the WuFlu or people who have natural immunity.

JusticeDelivered in reply to Pasadena Phil. | June 19, 2021 at 5:25 pm

Testing has already shown that existing vaccines are not as effective across the board on Delta. It appears that Pfizer-BioNTech is the most effective, and that there is not enough data yet on J&J.

It seems likely to me that persistence of CCP Coronavirus may well be similar to Spanish Flu, where that pandemic took 3 years to dampen down.

I hereby predict the Delta variant as well as the original will home in exclusively on idiots who have been proclaiming loudly that they will not get their shots because of (fill in black helicopter rant here).

Meanwhile the rest of us who rolled up our sleeves at first opportunity will proceed about our lives normally. I got my shot as well as my whole family. We’re good.

There is a difference between people who think the virus itself is a hoax, and who recognize both the danger of the virus and the malfeasance of our state governments.

I’ll see your lousy, dangerous vaccine, and raise it by a viral inhibition protocol that is applicable to any version of SARS.

You lost me at “lousy, dangerous vaccine”

JusticeDelivered in reply to NYBruin. | June 19, 2021 at 5:38 pm

The real issue about current vaccines is lack of through testing, people are right to be concerned. For people with serious preexisting conditions, that risk is not as bad as catching CCP Virus. That is my situation.

I just had a blood clot in my noggin without any vaccine

Not really anxious to have another one because of it

Lack of thorough testing? That’s not actually true. The vaccine used in the USA have been through every stage of testing. It’s been more than a year since the first shot was given to a human being. Out of 310 MILLION shots, 5343 deaths have been reported to VAERS. Adverse events that are reported should not be confused with proof the vaccine caused the event because other than anaphylaxis immediately following vaccination, there is no investigation or proof required to tie the vaccine to the event. By the time the paperwork is reviewed and final approval is granted, this vaccine will have been more thoroughly tested than any vaccine in history.

    So have we.

There are those who either didn’t take basic health class in the sixth grade and subsequent biology classes in junior high school., or don’t remember what the teacher was trying to drum into their skulls. Germ theory is the reason vaccinations can work so well. This isn’t a conspiracy. It’s the immune system in the human body at work.

George, if people have had Covid, they may do better than you have with the injection.

Even if Covid never comes back around, your children will have to worry about whether their future children will be born whole and healthy. And you have to worry about the possibilty of being afflicted by an autoimmune disease.

Sometimes it’s just better to risk the virus and die quick (or live) than risk 50 years of damage in the future.

CommoChief in reply to georgfelis. | June 19, 2021 at 7:50 pm

    George,

Well unless of the insertion of the genetically modified rna as a part of the immune system creates the biological equivalent of a ‘backdoor’ or a vulnerability to future bio weapons which are designed to target the specific modification….

Possible? Maybe. Maybe not. This is the first time we have used this process. Unintended consequences are unintended but no less consequential.

During my military career I have been inoculated against everything that has a vaccine to include the whole series of Anthrax vaccines. I am not anti-vax. Not even close.

I had Rona. I have antibodies which confer natural immunity. That’s how this works. The question is how long and how strong that immunity lasts. Studies in several Nations suggest at least one year.

I would point out that Pfizer and Moderna have already suggested that annual booster shots might be a good idea so your inoculation might not be as good as you believe.

Personally I have looking for J&J vaccine but availability is an issue. When available I will take it.

JusticeDelivered in reply to georgfelis. | June 19, 2021 at 8:35 pm

Delta is just one more in a string of mutations. What is a big deal here is that engineered spike on CCP Coronavirus. It is not natural and we really do not know the full implications of that.

chrisboltssr in reply to georgfelis. | June 19, 2021 at 11:13 pm

Yeah, we’ll be alright. Nobody cares some anonymous troll jabbed himself with a vaccine.

This is why it is necessary for the governors of these states to refuse to acknowledge the very real, effective outpatient treatments developed by our clinicians.

They are invested in vaccines, or more precisely, vaccine makers.

The outpatient treatments are cheap, and do not make money for the people who have government contracts.

So many weasel words. “May”, “likely”. Also, “highly transmissible”, “particularly dangerous for young people”, and “the new variant will leave unvaccinated people even more vulnerable than they are”? I don’t believe a word of this until they prove it.

If you’ve been following the Darkhorse Podcast Clips channel on YouTube the mRNA and viral vector vaccines are looking scarier and scarier.

lc in reply to randian. | June 19, 2021 at 7:54 pm

Yes, and the founder of the mRNA vaccine technology, Dr. Malone, is expressing some concerns on the latest podcasts.

“Biden says…”
.
At a recent news conference Biden said, “I will get into trouble if I answer any more questions.” Biden, who is supposed to be the most powerful man on the planet is afraid of getting into trouble for answering too many questions. So “Biden says,” means nothing. He doesn’t say anything without permission.

    The_Mew_Cat in reply to UserP. | June 23, 2021 at 9:00 am

Nothing Biden has ever said has ever meant anything. Biden probably doesn’t even remember what he said 10 minutes ago.

I can’t see the Biden* administration wasting any effort on another Wuflu lockdown. But I can see forever lockdowns/restrictions for global warming, the “epidemic” of gun violence, and combatting “white supremacy”.

JMO, but I don’t think widespread, everyone-stay-at-home lockdowns are as viable an option as they used to be, because there would be a lot of rather upset fully-vaccinated people if they are told to stay home. Plus people are out and about enjoying themselves so I doubt lockdown orders would be popular in general. Places where lockdowns are still in force, like the UK and Canada, can just keep them right on going, though.

What I can see happening is proof of vaccination becoming your ticket to moving around freely, so you’d better be carrying that piece of paper with you at all times. Otherwise, consider yourself locked down.

He got halfway through that statement and had already forgotten the first part.

nordic_prince | June 19, 2021 at 4:03 pm

Who cares what that dotard has to say.

They’re not his words, anyway. They are Susan Rice’s and Anita Dunn’s words.

You can tell a female is putting words in his mouth. At his news conference he said he talked to Putin about Russia hacking our pipeline and he said he told him, “How would you feel if someone did that to you?”

How would you feel if someone did that to you? That sounds.like a woman to me.

And then he said he gave Putin a list of 17 places not to attack next time.

One thing for sure, the public willingness to consent to a lockdown has certainly been lessened. The public health community has forfeited any pretense to public trust through a series of deliberate falsehoods.

Don’t wear a mask / mask protects you/ mask protects others/ send infected back to nursing homes/ need more ventilators/ send hospital ships/ set up emergency care facilities/ didn’t use hospital ships or emergency facilities/ hydroxychloroqine + zinc don’t work/ hydroxychloroqine+ zinc might actually work after all/ 6 ft apart/ 3 ft apart/ no school/ go back to school/ political protests for BLM won’t spread Rona/ Sturgis bike rally will spread Rona/ Sturgis didn’t super spread after all/ vaccines will take 5 years/ vaccines are ready in less than a year/ came from a wet market/ absolutly didn’t come from the bio lab/ may have come from the bio lab

This list of flip flopping positions and deliberate falsehoods given by our public health officials shows the utter lack of commitment to tell the truth to the public.

They undercut their credibility and I am unwilling to accept anything they say at face value. They can provide the evidence, allow it to be independently replicated and confirmed and then we can discuss the policy recommendations, not dictates, they advise.
