Attack Damages Iran’s Nuclear Centrifuge Manufacturing Facility

Attack Damages Iran’s Nuclear Centrifuge Manufacturing Facility

Jerusalem Post: Strike “against one of the buildings of Iran’s Atomic Energy Organization (IAEO) caused major damage.”

An attack reportedly hit a facility linked to Iran’s nuclear weapons program. The site being used for manufacturing nuclear centrifuges suffered major damage in the attack, the media reports on Wednesday suggest.

Reports indicate a rotor-driven drone carried out the strike on the Karaj nuclear facility.

“The attack was said to have been carried out by a small drone against a manufacturing center used in the production of centrifuges,” The New York Times confirmed.

The attack comes as Iran deploys advanced centrifuges to produce near-weapons grade uranium.

According to media reports, the targeted site near the Iranian capital Tehran belongs to Iran’s rogue Atomic Energy Organization. The regime officials claimed that the Karaj facility uses nuclear technology to improve “quality of soil, water, agricultural and livestock production” — a bizarre assertion for anyone to take seriously.

No country in the region has taken responsibility for the strike. Iran has repeatedly accused Israel of attacks on facilities aimed at derailing its advancing nuclear weapons program.

The Jerusalem Post reported the details of the latest strike:

A sabotage operation against one of the buildings of Iran’s Atomic Energy Organization (IAEO) caused major damage – despite Iranian denials, The Jerusalem Post learned on Wednesday night.

Although Iran has claimed throughout the day that the sabotage failed and caused no damage or casualties, the Post has been given strong indications otherwise, though it has no way to independently confirm.

The Post also reported that the attacked site was likely one of Iran’s centrifuge manufacturing sites, which meant a major setback for the Islamic Republic’s uranium enrichment program for nuclear weapons. (…)

Hours after the Post report, a senior intelligence official and an Iranian familiar with the attack told The New York Times on Thursday morning that the attack targeted one of the main manufacturing centers for the production of centrifuges in Iran, known as the Iran Centrifuge Technology Company, or TESA. TESA was on a list of targets presented to the Trump administration last year by Israel, according to the report. (…)

The Iranian Mehr News Agency reported on Wednesday that a quadcopter was used in the attempt to sabotage a building at the AEO, but failed and was eventually shot down.

The attack comes days after Iran took its sole nuclear power plant offline amid media speculations. The Russian-built facility underwent an “emergency shutdown” for “unexplained” reasons, The Associated Press reported on Monday.

In early April, an explosion at Iran’s top nuclear site in Natanz destroyed advanced centrifuges and severely crippled the regime’s uranium enrichment capabilities.

The blast left “several thousand centrifuges damaged and destroyed,” a senior regime official admitted.

While the Mullah regime blames Israel for the attack, a nationwide manhunt was launched for a 43-year-old Iranian suspect who may have had access to the heavily-guarded underground nuclear site.

The latest report of the attack on an Iranian nuclear weapons-related site comes as President Joe Biden is striving to restore the 2015 nuclear deal.

Following the victory of the regime-favored candidate, Ebrahim Raisi, in the last week’s sham presidential election, the Biden administration has resumed the European Union-brokered nuclear talks with Iran in Vienna, Austria.

Tehran hopes to sign a nuclear deal with the Biden White House by August, the Iranian foreign minister assured last week.

We see, once again, that The Mossad never forgets and never sleeps!!

This news is positively awwwww-inspiring.

We know it wasn’t President Houseplant

What a shame. The latest in a seemingly endless series of unfortunate events. Iran seems to be getting more than its share of bad luck these days. Maybe they should open a FundMe account.

What is Hebrew for “oops”?

What a shame.

A little good news helps me get through the day of craziness

Since our current regime cannot be depended on to oppose Iran getting nukes and threatening not only Israel, but all Sunni nations; it is up to Israel to do the job. If necessary over our regime’s objections. And yes, eventually the means will become more serious.

It would be a crying shame if one or more of those sites got hit with a big rock from space. Or a little one travelling at really high velocity. Especially if said rock was aerodynamic and composed of the right sort of titanium composite to penetrate tens of meters of rock.

There are bunker buster bombs, if it is 30 meters deep, 10-to thirty of them dropped in exactly the same spot should be able to breach Iran’s facility. I assume they have more than one entrance, so perhaps after one is completely plugged up, another might need to be dealt with.

One thing is certain, Iran cannot be allowed to have nuclear weapons.

Biden has promised to spare no expense in bringing the perpetrators of this attack on Iran’s sovereignty to justice.

I used to work with a fellow who, over the years, had said he actually hoped that Iran gets the bomb, or that North Korea launches a nuclear attack against the United States. And, I’m like, what are you crazy?

And his response was …. Think back to what McNamara said. Nuclear weapons are useless from a conventional military standpoint. The only purpose of nuclear weapons is to deter your foe from using their nuclear weapons. But the corollary to that policy is that, if it fails to deter, the only response to an attack by means of nuclear weapons is an overwhelming nuclear counter-attack. Doesn’t matter who it is or why it happened, at that point, all bets are off, and you have no choice.

So, he continued, if the U. S. suffers a nuclear attack, or is otherwise drawn into nuclear war, we will have no choice but to respond with overwhelming nuclear retaliation. If that happens, regardless of whatever damage we sustain, those countries such as North Korea or Iran will literally be burned to a cinder and wiped off the face of the earth. Their civilizations will literally come to an end. Whatever problem or threat they posed will be gone forever. Problem solved.

I’m not that bloody-minded, but I see his point. It would be a tragedy beyond anything in human history. Let’s hope it never happens.

That’s why Iran should not have nuclear weapons. And why it was unwise to allow North Korea to develop nuclear weapons. They are just stupid, reckless, and deluded enough to use them, and risk their very existence, and the lives of every man, woman, and child in their nation.
