Texas Democratic Official Resigns Over Racist Slur He Used Against Senator Tim Scott – Democrats Reject His Resignation

“I am deeply and sincerely sorry for my inappropriate and hurtful use of racist term I used to describe Sen. Tim Scott on my personal Facebook page”

A few days ago, Fuzzy Slippers wrote about a Texas Democratic party official named Gary O’Connor, who used a racial slur against Senator Tim Scott following his powerful response to Biden’s first speech to Congress.

Some high-ranking Republicans, including Texas Governor Greg Abbott, called on O’Connor to resign. Surprisingly, he did.

Houston Keene reports at FOX News:

Texas Democratic official resigns after calling Tim Scott an ‘oreo’

The Texas Democratic official who called Sen. Tim Scott, R-S.C., an “oreo” on Twitter last week has resigned from his position following a backlash.

Lamar County Democratic Party chair Gary O’Connor announced his resignation Tuesday in a statement, days after sparking a firestorm online by calling Scott an “oreo” in a since-deleted Facebook post.

O’Connor apologized for targeting Scott with the racial slur, which refers to a Black person who is perceived as acting White.

“I am deeply and sincerely sorry for my inappropriate and hurtful use of racist term I used to describe Sen. Tim Scott on my personal Facebook page,” O’Connor said in a statement to the Washington Examiner. “It was insensitive, and I have embarrassed myself and my party by its use.”

“As a result, I feel compelled to offer my resignation as chair of the Lamar County Democratic Party for consideration by the County Executive Committee,” he added.

To be clear, what O’Connor said about Tim Scott was truly vicious.

From Yahoo News:

After Scott delivered the Republican rebuttal to President Joe Biden’s joint address to Congress, O’Connor labeled the senator an “Oreo”, referring to a black individual who is perceived as displaying characteristics of a white person.

“I had hoped that Scott might show some common sense, but it seems clear he is little more than an oreo with no real principles,” the Texas Democrat commented.

Texas Governor Greg Abbott and other political officials slammed O’Connor’s words on social media.

“This is disgusting, hateful, and completely unacceptable. O’Connor must apologize to @SenatorTimScott & step down immediately,” Abbott wrote on Twitter on Saturday. “@texasdemocrats censure him.”

In a stunning move, the Lamar County Democratic Party has refused to accept O’Connor’s resignation.

Samuel Chamberlain reports at the New York Post:

Texas county Dems reject resignation of pol who called Sen. Tim Scott ‘oreo’

A Texas county’s Democratic Party rejected the resignation of its chairman Tuesday, days after he described Sen. Tim Scott (R-SC) as an “oreo.”

Lamar County Democratic Party chairman Gary O’Connor, who is white, told the Washington Examiner in a statement that he was “deeply and sincerely sorry” for using the “racist term” against Scott, one of three black senators and the only black Republican.

“It was insensitive and I have embarrassed myself and my party by its use,” O’Connor’s statement read.

However, the Lamar County Democratic Party issued its own statement late Tuesday.

“Our local Democrats have taken the last few days to reflect upon this incident,” the organization said, according to MyParisTexas.com.

“After much discussion — especially among our local [b]lack Democrats — we chose not to accept Mr. O’Connor’s resignation.”

From a Democrat perspective, this makes perfect sense. Why should O’Connor resign if Andrew Cuomo is still in office?

The most important thing to remember, is that progressives lost their minds because Tim Scott said America is not a racist country.

He’ll land on his feet: he will be hired as the VP of DIE at some virtue signaling company. It worked out very well for Coca Cola’s general counsel.

O’Connor: It was insensitive and I have embarrassed myself and my party by its use.
Lamar County Democratic Party: No no, we’re cool with it.

Just further proof that the Democrats are truly a party of racists. But we knew that already.

It’s impossible to embarrass an organization that has no shame.

If O’Connor is gone, they will just have to replace him with another racist Democrat. So, what’s the point? Being a racist is a qualification for leadership in the Democrat Party. They pattern is very solid with a long history.

Any time a person says that they are “sincerely” sorry, count it as a given that they’re not.

True contrition doesn’t require modifiers for amplification; their use is a sign of insincerity.

And, how predictable that the vile Dhimmi-crats would reject the resignation of this racist bigot.

“From a Democrat perspective, this makes perfect sense. Why should O’Connor resign if Andrew Cuomo is still in office?”

I strongly suspect this “resignation” was staged, and that O’Connor will either stay on or fall upwards. If the minnow O’Connor gets eliminated while the big fish Cuomo, Northam, and Biden* go free, the optics look truly horrible, so it is best to grant amnesty to everyone on their side. And as a rule Communists are NEVER held accountable for their words and actions, so why start now?

Besides – O’Connor merely expressed the genocidal hatred that lives in the heart of every Communist.

Exactly. He would not have dared resign if he had believed he would actually lose his job. This was all a bit of political theater, intended to show that Democrats care without having to actually do anything about it.

I’m waiting for Chairman Xi-den to offer his paternal wisdom, lecturing black Texans that if they make a big deal over O’Connor’s racist remarks, “you ain’t black.”

“Democrats refused his resignation” Of course they did: it’s about retaining every last shred of power they’ve got no matter how bad it makes them look. !

It won’t be long before the word uppity will be accepted by ends-justify-the-means leftists. Already they have mainstreamed the use of the term racist for opposition, any and all. So why not the “u” word for certain opposition?

No. Like saboteurs cycling through burner phones, Communists never return to a term once they have adequately sullied it, they just invent a new one (like equity) for the same odious concept (racism).
(Except for Progressive. Don’t ask me why. Failure of imagination?)

Can we still call Green Party Marxists “watermellons?”

I know it’s nigh impossible for a democrat, but next time engage brain before opening mouth.

1. Democrats accuse Repulicans of being racist. Business as usual.
2. However it is Racist Democrats who run the Democrat party
3. Racist Democrat leader says some racist, hateful, hurtful things that should ruin his career forever.
4. There is a little smoke but no fire
5. Guilty offender offers resignation
6. Racist Democrat party won’t let Racist Democrat leader resign
7. Things return to business as usual

Libs are actually the biggest racists. Any minority that doesn’t fit their stereotype is vilified and often mocked using racist language.

Good. Especially the part about how the Lamar County Democrat Party conferred with their black members before rejecting O’Connor’s resignation.

Because the Democratic party is truly racist to the core. And the idea of a race-traitor is a racist idea; after all that’s what Oreo means. Of course the black members don’t think O’Connor did anything wrong. He said exactly what they’re thinking.

As Joe Biden told a black radio host during one of his infrequent interviews during the campaign,’ “If you have a problem figuring out whether you’re for me or Trump, then you ain’t black'”

As far as the left is concerned, “you ain’t black” if you think for yourself.

I love it when people tell you exactly who they are.

“It’s not racism when we do it.”

This is exactly what I thought would happen, based on the wording of the resignation “and consideration… by…)

IIRC didn’t O’Connor use the same slur on numerous other occasions? Why did he “tender” his resignation instead of just saying he’s quitting?

How many times must the country watch as Democrats commit an act that results in zero consequence while other independents and conservatives who commit a far lesser offense are actively sought out and destroyed before the public realizes this incredible and destructive double standard?
