‘Modern-Day Slavery’: GOP Rep. McClain Slams Treatment of Immigrant Families at Border

‘Modern-Day Slavery’: GOP Rep. McClain Slams Treatment of Immigrant Families at Border

“The only people that are making out in this situation are the drug traffickers, the cartels, and the people that traffic these families over.”

Rep. Lisa McClain (R-MI) described the border crisis as “modern-day slavery” because the only ones who come out are the criminals.

McClain’s Trip to the Border

McClain posted pictures and videos on Twitter from her visit.

McClain to Fox & Friends: “It’s Worse Than I Thought”

“As a mother, first and foremost, you want the best for your kids. And what’s happening to these families is an organized form of illegal immigration that I would argue is modern-day slavery,” said McClain. “The only people that are making out in this situation are the drug traffickers, the cartels, and the people that traffic these families over. It is the worst — it’s worse than I thought. And I would suggest that before you have an opinion, come down from your ivory tower and actually go to the border and see for yourself what is happening. It was horrible.”

I’ve blogged about cartels using TikTok to enlist American teens to help smuggle migrants across the border.

Human smugglers use Facebook to connect with migrants. They promise them transportation across the border, but at a high price.

Host Todd Piro pointed out that McClain does not come from a state that borders Mexico. He knew she would take criticism for it, but she offered a valid point about the crime spreading across the country.

“Well it’s coming to your community in two-fold,” explained McClain. “One, I live in Michigan. So they do not have the facilities to house these underage illegal migrant children. What they’re doing is they’re bussing them and flying them up to my city, here in Albion, Michigan, number one.”

McClain continued: “Number two, where it’s coming to, a city near you, is because the border patrol agents are spending so much time dealing with all of these families that are crossing illegally, they have no time to protect the border. What do you think is coming in?”

McClain then encourages President Joe Biden to visit the border because “you can’t fix a problem unless you think we have one.” Biden has said over and over that America does not have a border crisis.

“I am telling you, Mr. President, we have a crisis at the border,” stressed McClain. “All you have to do is go down there and you will see firsthand.”

Biden appointed Vice President Kamala Harris as his go-to person for the border. She has not held a press conference in the 47 days since her appointment.

Slavery is when stupid politicians tells us that we must bear the cost, both financially, and in damage to the very fabric of our society.

No it isn’t slavery is slavery.

There are other bad things that aren’t slavery and what you described is not slavery.

henrybowman in reply to Danny. | May 11, 2021 at 12:45 am

      Taxation without representation is slavery.

When the tyrants running big, blue cities and states (that we never got to vote for) destroy their economies because of their heavy-handed response to a plandemic, or any other reason, and the federal government happily bails them out with your tax money and mine, extracted from us at the point of a gun, that’s slavery.

America has gone from a country in which 8% of the population were slaves for 100% of their lives, to a country in which 88% of the population are slaves for 50% of their lives… and we celebrate it as “progress.”

What. You vote right, you get to vote twice. Which is what you are implying. Making the claim that you can equate being taxed too much Vs actual slavery is stupid.

Take your complaint to Mexico or wherever else those Obamigrants came from. America owes them NOTHING. You want something, then do something and do it lawfully.

It would be a hell of lot cheaper to simply takeover the government in the nations where these “refugees” come from and make those places some place desirable to be. Hell, maybe Sean Penn or a congressional caucus can swoop in when all the hard work is done and try to buy up everything and ruin for the intended beneficiaries.

Easy to see who wins and who loses.

Win = Cartels + Democrats (interesting partnership)
Lose = 1. USA Citizens
2. Illegal Immigrants that are abused and work for next to nothing
3. Children and grandchildren of USA Citizens who now have to live in different country than their parents and grandparents.

Number 3 above was not so clear.

It means they are changing the culture and the demographics so dramatically and so quickly that the next generation will not know what America was like for the previous generation.

Just one generation to make the country unrecognizable.

    Cartels + Democrats (interesting partnership)

“That’s not my department,” says Joe Kennedy von Braun.

Cue Jimmy Hoffa joke in 3…

Labor arbitrage, democratic gerrymandering, redistributive change, civil rights violations, Planned Parent/hood. Emigration reform to mitigate [catastrophic] [anthropogenic] immigration reform and collateral damage at both ends of the bridge and throughout.

The illegal border jumpers are not being forced to make the trip. McClain’s slavery comparison is complete rubbish.

THE WORST WHITE PRIVILEGE

o Thinking the best of people.
o Being Complacent.
o Being good-natured.
o Not realizing when your country is under attack.
o Thinking someone will do something about it – so you don’t have to.
o Thinking no rational person would try to F**-UP what generations worked so hard to build in America. A land of opportunity.

White-people are obviously dumb. They fail to fight for what matters. What do you need? a PEARL HARBOR or a WORLD TRADE CENTER CRASH to understand that people hate you and want to see you dead or subservient. You want to play nice. They take advantage of your good nature every day.

You cannot blame them for trying to grab what ever you got. Blame yourself for allowing them to take it. For allowing America to turn into a place where such grabbing is normalized. For allowing them to control language and you go along with it. For allowing them to indoctrinate your kids.

Marxists are domestic terrorists – and they are winning every day. In small ways. Soon they will be unstoppable.

They don’t care about your rational arguments. They don’t care about your ideals of equality of opportunity for all. They don’t care about your reverence for the Bill of Rights. They don’t care about societal norms or rules. They use all those things to their advantage and against us.

What will happen if Biden declares Amnesty for 30+ million illegals ? And open the door to 30 million more. And a constant barrage of divisive propaganda on the basis of race and income. Is there ever anyway to get America back ?

or a WORLD TRADE CENTER CRASH to understand that people hate you and want to see you dead or subservient.

Not even that! The 9/11 attack was one of the most successful attacks in history and we ended up giving in to muslims in almost every realm possible. We even supercharged our already insane importation of muslims and saw the massive increase in the construction of mosques in America (even in many areas that had few muslims, to speak of). We were barely able to fight off a muslim victory mosque scheduled to be built near Ground Zero (by a group called “The Cordoba Project”!!) and, not even 8 years after the attack elected an America-hating retard named Hussein to the Precedency.

We are going to go down in history as one of the most pathetic populations in recorded history. It’s mind-boggling how insane American society got. We will be a cautionary tale for millenia to come.

mark311 in reply to Ben Kent. | May 11, 2021 at 6:35 am

That’s the trouble Ben, your arguments aren’t rational at all. You equate not getting what you want with being attacked somehow. Democracies run on compromise , seems like you are unwilling to compromise at all.

Ben Kent in reply to mark311. | May 11, 2021 at 9:06 am

Each party has radical fringe elements. I reject the lunatics on both sides. But the Dems have mainstreamed Marxist views that just 10 years ago they would have rejected as lunatic fringe. Surely you have seen the Dem Party turn away from its classical liberal core. BTW I support classic liberalism in the sense of human rights, personal rights (such as Bill of Rights) and personal liberty.

The Rs have a different problem. They allowed the party to be personified by Trump. I have nothing against DJT but he is not the Party. The R Party has moved toward Populism. And that’s why Establishment Rs like Liz Cheney are being removed. Establishment politicans are deathly afraid of the Populists and the “Never-Trumpers” in the R Party are all Establishment folks. DNC is dominated by Establishment Ds. Establishment believes in BIG business, BIG donors and career politicians. Establishment types believe the people should be RULED. Populists believe the representatives are to serve the people.

Both D and R Parties have had battles between Establishment and Populists. For Ds it was Biden vs Sanders / for Rs it was Bush & Romney vs Trump.

Which camp are you? Establishment or Populist ?

mark311 in reply to Ben Kent. | May 12, 2021 at 8:32 am

“Which camp are you? Establishment or Populist ?”

Neither, I’m unapologetic in that I’m a swing voter on an issue by issue bases. I’d say I’m more towards the democrat side, but there are specific policies where I’m more on the right. Im not a fan of populist policies in general , populism has a pretty poor history driving bad policy and poor results. That said gov should at least listen and engage with its population. I don’t really like any politicians at the present moment. Mostly empty air heads looking for sound bites. At the moment I’d say The Democrats are the least bad choice if that makes sense.

ThePrimordialOrderedPair | May 10, 2021 at 6:28 pm

I could not care less about these illegal alien “families”. They deserve to be deported immediately and sanctioned from ever returning to America in any legal way, at all … but if they don’t get deported because we have an America-hating junta running the country then I just don’t care if these “families” are made modern day slaves or whatever. Their welfare is not my concern, in the least. They need only to be ejected from the country (and never allowed back) and those who gave them aid and comfort arrested and charged with treason for supporting an invasion.

They should be deported, you should however care if the government is making them modern day slaves.

You are picking the wrong target for your anger, should be the people making the decisions (like Biden).

Anger at Biden=you remember to vote in 2022 which is useful (unlike the anger you expressed).

henrybowman in reply to Danny. | May 11, 2021 at 12:54 am

Yeah. Voting is useful. Even more so now that Democrat bots vote “for” you.

“If voting actually changed anything, they’d make it illegal.”

Danny in reply to henrybowman. | May 11, 2021 at 4:52 pm

Chuck Schumer wishes to thank you the exalted Henry Bowman #1 Special Democrat Agent for your tireless work for the Democrat Party, following your helping them get the senate you are working hard to preserve their majority in the house and prevent Republicans retaking the senate.

While every Republican position may be relegated to fringe be assured that Chuck Schumer loves you his special agent.

You will be made to care?

The children the children

    OH, THE CHILDREN
    > DEMS PUSH EMOTIONAL ARGUMENTS – WHENUSEFUL TO THEM

When Trump was trying to control the border in 2017, I recall a group of Democrats demonstrating in Ohio. Nice old ladies. I talked with them. They were obviously clueless about the real issues but they were told by their leaders to PUSH the “kids in cages” issue. And push they did. One lady seemed on the verge of tears as she showed me a picture of immigrant kids. I told her that Obama started the policy of detaining kids. Unfazed, she begged me to join in the fight against Trump’s border policy

I walked away. Really moved by their caring.

Came back an hour later to see the same lady near tears again while talking with another guy.
I realized I had been played by an actress.

That sums up the Party for me. Nothing you see is actually real. Everything is an act. Everything has an ulterior motive.

Both Party’s play games – but Dems are masters at it.

“but Dems are masters at it….”

Dems appear ‘masterful’ because their opposition – the GOP – is so patheticly corrupt, bought and paid for.

Let’s not forget who hired, rehired, and re-rehired these GOP bozos: us.

At least we didn’t make that mistake with PDJT.

mark311 in reply to Ben Kent. | May 11, 2021 at 6:38 am

You do realise there is a big difference between a policy that deliberately outs kids in cages Vs uncontrolled immigration and a an inability to house kids sufficiently well. Is that a distinction you actually understand? I don’t think Obama’s policies were particularly thoughtful on immigration but to deliberately separate families and house kids in cages as you put it was abhorrent. That was a deliberate action from Trump.

        henrybowman in reply to mark311. | May 11, 2021 at 8:21 am

More gaslighting. The policies and the “cages” existed through Obama, Trump, and Biden. When Trump was in office, the MSM called the “housing” “cages.” When the other two were in office, they called the “cages” “housing.”

The kids were separated because their parents were in prison for illegal entry (which is what they were, not “valued visitors” as the Democrats insist on treating them) — did you want the kids to go to prison with them instead?

In America, we do the same thing when we imprison citizen parents — the kids go into Social Services, and it’s really not that much different for them.

If illegal immigrants don’t want to be separated from their kids, they’re perfectly welcome not to come.

Slaves my ass. They are INVADERS. Unwanted, unwelcome, unacceptable. We are the only Nation in the entire world allowing such behavior and this invasion should be met with force.
