California’s Population Drops for First Time Since Becoming a State 171 Years Ago

The population of the state of California has just dropped for the first time in history. All the reports we have heard for months about people fleeing the state have had a very real effect.

One week after California learned that it will lose a U.S. House seat for the first time in the state’s history, officials on Friday announced that the state’s population dropped for the first time since California became a state 171 years ago.
The nation’s most populous state lost more than 180,000 people between January 2020 and January 2021 – a 0.46 decline – according to state Department of Finance data.
Officials said the dip was due to “continuing declines” in immigration and the birth rate and a surge in deaths due to the coronavirus pandemic.
“In recent years, the slowdown in natural increase – a nationwide trend affecting California more than other states – has contributed to the state’s population growth slowing and plateauing,” state officials wrote. “The addition of 2020’s COVID-19-related deaths, combined with immigration restrictions in the past year, tipped population change to an annual loss.”

California’s population has surged and slowed in the decades since its founding, with notable increases following World War II and the tech boom of the 1980s and ’90s that put Silicon Valley on the map.
In recent years, more people have left California for other states than have moved there, a trend Republicans say is a result of the state’s high taxes and progressive politics. The average sale price of a single-family home in California hit a record $758,990 in March, a 23.9% increase from a year ago.
“The numbers don’t lie. People are leaving our state because it’s not affordable to live here,” tweeted Kevin Faulconer, the former mayor of San Diego and one of the Republican candidates hoping to unseat Democratic Gov. Gavin Newsom in this year’s expected recall election.

I would say “The last one to leave, please turn out the lights.” But I think the lights will have gone out first.

I left a week and a half ago. My daughter’s in-laws moved out 2 weeks ago. My son and his family left 3 weeks ago. My other son and wife are actively looking and when they leave her entire extended family has said they will follow. That’s eleven people with 4 separate families. All native Californians. All conservative.
This doesn’t count all of the friends and neighbors I know who have also moved out of the state. Most of them are native Californians too and are conservative.
We remember what the state used to be like and can no longer tolerate what it has become.
This time last week I was leading my little caravan across the empty desert of southern NV with CA a full day and a half in the rear view mirror. Mrs Wrangler and I are perched in a motel with our car, pickup and small trailer parked outside waiting to take possession of our new (to us) home….. Native Californians of over 70 years…. and conservative. The oldest daughter and brood are already gone, the “kid” waits for kids to finish high school and its “Katie bar the door” for her…
Most of us refugees do not possess the “California” that some fear…. we never had it, so we won’t be bringing it with us…..

Lets face the fact that California has become a shithole, with that trend accelerating. Eventually, the whole state will need to be fumigated.

One way to look at this news is that people are finally fed up.
Another way to look at it as the infection spreading.
Both could be true.
While this is interesting, you have to remember that this is the Peoples’ Democrat Republic of Alta California. There will be a review, conducted by a Population Commission which will hire a company called Dominion to check the figures. Soon it will be announced that not only has the population increased, but with the help of the Regime in DC, several more congressional seats will be added to California and taken from Middle America.

Every single officer at the police station where I work plans to leave California when they retire. Most are going to Florida and Texas, and some plan to retire overseas.
I have relatives who work for the CHP. With the advent of SIP last year multitudes of CHP officers were trying to transfer to the border of Cali so their families could live in NV or AZ, not California..
I’m surprised they’re not moving to Louisiana, so they can unconstitutionally seize the residents’ guns for the New Orleans mayor and police chief, like they did the last time they were there.
I knew some people from California. Staunch progressives in every way. The finally moved back to the Midwest. They said the number of Mexicans bringing in a different culture, and the enormous rise in crime, made the final decision for them. They were very pro illegal immigrant when the moved out there. But not when they moved back.
A period ending in Jan 2021, conveniently ignoring the huge increase in invaders after Jan 2021 just so they can say there was a decline in the invasion.
It’d be great if the population drops by 2 more people: Newsom and Pelosi.
What used to be the State of California is now the PDRK, the People’s Democratic Republic of Kalifornia. I have several friends who live their, I’ve visited 3-4 times over my life, physically it’s as beautiful as it gets. But you could not pay me enough to live there.
Former Texas Governor Rick Perry, during one of his tips to the former Golder State to get companies to relocate to TX, was speaking with business owners in a hotel conference room. During his speech he looked behind him, saw the Pacific Ocean in the window, and it hit him.
He said, “Ladies and gentlemen, you know what I can’t give you? That,” pointing to the ocean. “And that is a lot, your climate, weather, Texas cannot compete with that. That being said, we have a pro-business climate, low taxes and regulation, excellent schools, and a government that wants you to succeed. All things you can’t find in California right now.”
Couldn’t have said it better.
According to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), Texas has 3,359 miles of shoreline miles. The Gulf (of Texas) coastline itself is 367 miles.
“Texas has 3,359 miles of shoreline”?
That seems unlikely.
It’s less than 2.500 miles from LA to NYC as the crow flies.
And the Gulf Coast is nothing like the Pacific.
Gulf is much warmer no wet suit required. In AL and FL the sands are a beautiful and pristine white sand and the water is a lovely clear emerald hue.

They’re measuring every bump and rill in the shoreline, plus the circumference of all the islands. This is not considered puffery. I have to wonder if they are also counting the Rio Grande border..
