All Three Finalists for New President of Evergreen State College Drop Out of Running

“We have some learning to do as a community as to why they withdrew.”

The three finalists backed out after meeting with students and staff. That speaks volumes, doesn’t it?

The Chronicle reports:

All Three Finalists to Be President of The Evergreen State College Withdraw From Process

A year-long process to find the next president of The Evergreen State College came to a shocking conclusion Wednesday when the college’s Board of Trustees emerged from a three-hour meeting and announced that the three finalists for the job had withdrawn their names from consideration.

Board of Trustees Chairwoman Karen Fraser said all three finalists — Michael Dumont, Catherine Kodat and Lee Lambert — withdrew following recent interviews with faculty, students, staff and alumni.

“We’re still in a state of surprise and disappointment,” she said. “This is where we are at the moment.”

The Olympian wasn’t privy to all the community interviews, but did observe a three-hour virtual gathering with alumni and others, which appeared to be a cordial exchange of questions and answers with the finalists…

Trustee Ed Zuckerman defended the process the college undertook to find a president, but also said, “We have some learning to do as a community as to why they withdrew.”

“The process is not at issue from my standpoint,” he said.

Trustee David Nicandri said the common conceit about the college is that its biggest challenge is in recruitment and retention, but he also cited a “deeper set of problems” facing the college, which he did not identify.

They met with staff? Or, staph?

What did the trustees ask them, or demand of them, that they would not swallow? This is the key question.

The candidates did not drop out because they suddenly realized they were bad candidates. They dropped out because they were scared away from the job.

I think the part about having to shoot a guy first to prove their loyalty was a deal-breaker.

They may not want to be held hostage like George Bridges allowed the protesters to do to him. Having to beg a bunch of obscenity-screaming students to let him go pee is a little off-putting for most potential college presidents.

Anyone who wants to be respected as the President of ESU will need to be a black female lesbian transsexual who is a card-carrying member of the Communist Party. She will need to use her Red Guard to eliminate anyone who opposes her.

Does make you wonder what they found out at the last minute, that isn’t already public, that made them all decide they don’t want to try to clean up the mess.

2 white people and 1 Asian.

They’re probably subjected to racist abuse by the students.

Being leader of that toilet of CRT on the Left Coast apparently is too much for even the most strident whackademic.

Talk about a thankless job! I have a colleague from medical school whose granddaughter attended that college. He is a Vietnam veteran and said even the Viet Cong could not have brainwashed her like that faculty did.

I’d be glad to be considered for the job a Evergreen, However, they wouldn’t like my politics or my regime!
