AG Merrick Garland Says White Supremacists ‘the Most Dangerous Threat to Our Democracy’

“In my career as a judge and in law enforcement, I have not seen a more dangerous threat to democracy than the invasion of the Capitol”

Attorney General Merrick Garland told Congress that white supremacists represent the greatest danger to America right now.

His testimony was a gross distortion of reality. It is nothing more than an attempt to reinforce the narrative pushed by Democrats and the media since January of this year.

Alexander Nazaryan of Yahoo News has details:

White supremacy is top security threat, Garland says

Attorney General Merrick Garland told Congress on Wednesday that violence incited by white supremacists poses “the most dangerous threat to our democracy.” That assertion reflects near-universal consensus among national security experts, including those who worked for the Trump administration.

Garland’s warning came during a Senate Appropriations Committee hearing on the Jan. 6 riot at the U.S. Capitol, which was conducted by supporters of then-President Donald Trump and incited by white supremacist groups like the Oath Keepers and Proud Boys. Five people died as a result of the attack.

“In my career as a judge and in law enforcement, I have not seen a more dangerous threat to democracy than the invasion of the Capitol,” Garland said, calling the attack an “attempt to interfere with a fundamental element of our democracy, the peaceful transfer of power.” The attorney general went on to say that “there has to be a hierarchy of things that we prioritize. This would be the one we’d prioritize.”

In the video of Garland’s testimony below, he lumps the January 6th Capitol rioters in with the KKK, which he fails to mention was an outgrowth of the Democrat party, the Unabomber, and the Oklahoma City bombing.

At the 4:15 mark, Garland says: “When someone tries to promote or impose an ideology through acts of violence, those acts can be the most dangerous crimes we confront as a society.”

Is that not exactly what BLM and Antifa did as they burned, looted, and rioted their way through American cities for most of 2020? Funny, he fails to mention those groups even once. Watch:

To borrow one of Obama’s favorite words, this is a distraction. No one would deny that racist groups exist in America today, but they are a tiny minority and the country has much bigger problems.

Lord, did we dodge a bullet when McConnell kept this moron off the Court, or what?

The only person that died in the Capitol Hill ‘riot’ was unarmed and murdered by the FedGov.

Compare that to the mayhem and destruction visited upon the country by BLM rioters the previous eight months. Many dead, including law enforcement officers and and (I believe) the biggest private property insurance payouts not caused by natural disasters in the country’s history.

    don’t matter

as the Rainman said “there are lots and lots of them”

as in Stacy Abrams, the next SCOTUS judge

TargaGTS in reply to REDACTED. | May 13, 2021 at 4:38 pm

That’s true. But, what Garland represented for Obama was a pick that seemed almost non-partisan. His reputation was one of erudition and serious jurisprudence and as such, wouldn’t have come with a heavy price tag in political capital. It turns out, he’s just like Stacy Abrams.

Abrams might well in fact end up on the bench (although I really don’t think it could happen in this Congress because that’s likely a bridge too far for Manchin). But, if she were picked (or someone just a nakedly partisan as her), that would come with a heavy political price tag for Biden.

Merrick Garland was painted as such by the MSM, for certain. All it took was a little peeling of the onion to reveal the truth. He was and is a hack.

That ruse is getting old. RBG was portrayed as a moderate prior to her Supreme Court nomination. Most Republicans at the time believed it. She was appointed with a 96 to 3 vote.

The ultimate humilation to the Supreme Court – if she fits through the front door.

Ben Kent in reply to TargaGTS. | May 13, 2021 at 7:24 pm

    NOW IT’S ” INVASION ”

They called it “INSURRECTION” before. But it was obviously not an insurrection and their narrative feel apart as we learned that the only one murdered was a conservative.

But that does not stop Garland from upping the ante with more semantic word-play by calling it an “INVASION”. Now if he were talking about the border – I’d agree. But he is talking about US citizens in the US capital. Actually, it’s quite revealing. He considers conservatives to be invaders. As the Nazi’s showed – you must first de-humanize before you can commit heinous crimes against your enemy.

Why doesn’t the Puppet/Slut administration just call it a thermonuclear attack and retaliate?

Odd that they never vet the backgrounds. Will they find true anti govt types? They play it up as Trump’s supporters yet aren’t brught enough to see they hate all govt.

When will he address the murder of the protester by Capital police? Admit it..they are afraid that now the very people they represent are revolting.

Let me translate: White Supremacist equals Republicans, conservatives, and anyone who does not agree with the Democratic party and their fascist oligarch overlords.

Again, when I see white supremacists start to kill people, blow things up, burn things down, riot, loot stores, beat up people in the streets, or attack critical infrastructure, I will certainly change my mind. Failing that, people who part with reality shall not be spared the consequences of reality.

Milhouse in reply to Brave Sir Robbin. | May 14, 2021 at 12:21 am

Well, some white supremacists have certainly killed people, blown things up, burned things down, and beaten people up. I’m not sure there are enough of them in any one place to have a proper riot. I haven’t heard of them looting stores, or attacking critical infrastructure.

The point is, though, that while they exist and they do bad things, there aren’t enough of them to be a significant threat to our republic. And to waste any time on them when the black supremacists, Marxists, and left anarchists are wreaking real havoc is just perverse. It’s like worrying about some kid playing with matches while a huge conflagration is raging just up the road.

henrybowman in reply to Milhouse. | May 14, 2021 at 1:53 am

The people that whores like Garland call “white supremacists” aren’t interested in looting stores, or burning down private property. When they come out to play, the new catchword in the news will be “surgical.”

        mark311 in reply to Milhouse. | May 14, 2021 at 2:21 am

Well the intelligence community, FBI etc seem to strongly disagree with you there. As for your characterisation of the BLM riots etc those were looters that’s quite different from a domestic terror agenda isn’t it.

Its a good point about the critical infrastructure threat but again that relates to greed not a terror agenda so isn’t strictly speaking relevant.

          SDN in reply to mark311. | May 14, 2021 at 9:59 am

Would that be the same FBI that escorted the Muslim terrorist to shoot up the “Draw Mohammed” event in Garland TX? Why yes it would.

Critical infrastructure is not about greed; you can’t shoplift an oil pipeline.

          @SDN

You do realise that the colonial pipeline threat was ransomware ie the entire point was to extort money hence the greed.

Regarding your comment re the FBI citing one incident doesn’t magically make all of the things they do somehow wrong. That’s a stupid argument. Can you actually present an argument or are you going to just throw out meaningless insults.

Brave Sir Robbin in reply to mark311. | May 14, 2021 at 11:05 am

“Well the intelligence community, FBI etc seem to strongly disagree with you there. ”

Click your heels Mark. Raise that arm stiff and straight. Where are the white supremacist riots, looting sprees, bodies of victims, etc? You can piss down my back and tell me its raining, but I know the difference. I do not care about what someone says – I care about actual evidence.

Whether crime and destruction is motivated by politics or greed, even petty greed like looting, matters not. Threats are threats regardless of motivation. What difference does it make if someone kills another due to political disagreement of greed? It’s still a dead body. Say for destroyed or disrupted pipelines.

Again, when I see a significant threat from white supremacists I will point it out. Honestly, I do not even see any white supremist anywhere. Where the hell are these dangerous hordes hording up?

How so? Isn’t domestic terrorism using violence and lawlessness to affect politcal change through coersion and intimidation? What do you think BLM is doing? They openly advocate for the end of capitalism, the abolition of police, taxpayer-funded reparations, and a host of other government-related demands, and if they don’t get their way, they will burn, loot, and murder until they get it. “No justice, no peace” is their slogan for a reason.

          @BSR

Oof course the motivation matters, it’s can’t be racist if the intention was entirely non race motivated. That’s just stupid.

As for evidence where have you been for the last 10 years? Rise of proud boys etc.

          @Fuzzy slippers.

Yeah you are conflating standard criminal opportunists with motivation. There isn’t much /any evidence that BLM were involved in actions for the purpose of black supremacy.

Your reference to no justice, no peace is misleading. I’ve always understood that to be a reference to MLK saying “There can be no justice without peace. And there can be no peace without justice.” It’s got a rich historical context so I’m not really sure it means what you think it means.

@Mark311, you write, “There isn’t much /any evidence that BLM were involved in actions for the purpose of black supremacy.” Which is it? There isn’t much or there isn’t any?

Further, what on earth are you talking about? Here is what I wrote:

Please point out where I mention “black supremacy.”

Obviously, I didn’t, but as usual, you sink into logical fallacy (or just outright lies like claiming you drive 50k miles/yr in your personal vehicle or that you have been posting on LI “for ages,” when your first post here was on December 8, 2020, less than six months ago.).

As to “no justice, no peace,” your take is a giant load of steaming garbage. Not sure you noticed this, but BLM has rejected MLK because he advocated for PEACEFUL demonstrations and for judging people on the content of their character, not the color of their skin. Ideas the radical BLM movement clearly and vocally reject outright.

YOU might think that’s what they mean in your tiny, weird little troll brain, but we all know what it means because they proved it with their savage and unrelenting burning, looting, and murdering all last year. In fact, we saw it in action from Mad Max just before the Chauvin verdict: we get the verdict we want, or we “get more confrontational” to “show them we mean business.” Think that’s about some cozy MLKism? Really!? Because the way I heard it was: “No justice, no peace.” And by justice they mean BLM mob rule via violence (what rational people understand as terrorism).

When stealing an election… those that didn’t vote for Joe are all potential threat to the thieves…. as for the Capitol… hardly a comparison to the Summer of Floyd and the Courts of Terror the Left have in place.

Prove that whites are not supreme.

Brave Sir Robbin in reply to Anchovy. | May 13, 2021 at 4:34 pm

OK, let me take a shot. “The Supremes” were not white, and thus, whites were not “The Supremes.”

Whites are not Supreme for no white is allowed to say “White Lives Matter.” Nobody can go on the national media and say that. Reminds me of the quatation from Animal Farm, “All animals are equal, but some animals are more equal than others.”

Some animals were of the opinion that their lives mattered more. That is, they were more equal than the other animals. It was their lives that mattered. They were the Supremes. They came out of the farmhouse walking on their hind legs waving whips.and acted as if they owned the farm. And they had a canine police force to back up their claim.

NYBruin in reply to Anchovy. | May 13, 2021 at 4:57 pm

You make an excellent – and oft overlooked – point. If Whites were REALLY so awful they would have revoked BIPOC’s rights to vote a long time ago, as well as wasteful “welfare” and affirmative action programs.

      mark311 in reply to NYBruin. | May 14, 2021 at 2:25 am

Because revoking voting rights would be the ultimate in stupid, let alone the practical implications .. can you see any politician signing that bill?!

Brave Sir Robbin in reply to mark311. | May 14, 2021 at 12:13 pm

If this were a white supremacist nation, why would they not?

The funny thing about actual racists and white supremacists is that they are profoundly proud of their worldview. They actually beleive that black people are inferior and deserve no rights, and they are not the least bit shy about it. They are also the dregs of society and haven’t any real clout in at least half a century. Can we see any politician today sign a bill revoking the voting rights of POC? Nope. Because they are not actually racisty racist white supremacists. If they were, they’d be falling over themselves to sign exactly that.

Anonymous Bosh | May 13, 2021 at 4:29 pm

Serious question: What form does this “greatest threat” take? Have there been unreported FBI takedowns of planned actions?

What am I not seeing? Or, what, exactly, goes into that bucked? I mean in the eyes a Merrick Garland?

I mean it: I really don’t get it.

Unless it’s a relative thing–and *nothing* else poses a “danger”?

nordic_prince | May 13, 2021 at 4:42 pm

WHAT “invasion”? WHAT “insurrection” (another term they like to bandy about)?

Here’s a fun fact, Garland: The Proud Boys have POC in their ranks – still want to engage in the propaganda that they’re “white supremacists”?

The lying Ds keep pushing the propaganda that anyone who essentially opposes their agenda is “racist,” a “terrorist,” “anti science,” etc etc. Make no mistake: their goal is to politicize EVERYTHING and crush any and all who stand in their way. They are totalitarians through and through, and will send us off to the gulags as soon as they consolidate their political power.

This is why the audit in AZ and other places is crucial, and why we should not heed their call to “move on” from the 2020 election. After four years of their “Russia Russia Russia” bullshit, the very least we can do is return the favor and pester them mercilessly about Biden and his extensive voter fraud organization stealing the 2020 election.

As a political force, white supremacists don’t exists in America. I’m not saying there are no white supremacists in America, but I am saying as a political force, they are non-existent. For Garland to say white supremacists are the most dangerous threat to democracy, he is either delusional, or flat out lying. Or maybe both.

henrybowman in reply to dging. | May 14, 2021 at 1:57 am

No… what Garland is saying here is that people he insists on calling white supremacists — meaning, everybody in America who doesn’t suck down and then regurgitate on command the Democrat CRT Marxist Koolaid — are the most dangerous threat to “democracy,” meaning those who identify with the “Democratic” party.

Diversity [dogma] (i.e.. color judgment), not limited to racism. Rabid diversity, even, including affirmative discrimination. Lose your Pro-Choice religion.

That said, diversity of individuals, minority of one. #BabyLivesMatter

And yet their “democracy” is the single greatest threat to our constitutional republic.

CDR D in reply to McGehee. | May 13, 2021 at 5:16 pm

This is exactly right. To the leftists, “our democracy” means “majoritarian rule” only when THEY have it, and an autocratic “people’s democracy” where the state reigns supreme when they don’t. Whenever these double talking sons of bitches use the phrase “our democracy”, think North Korea.

Wonder if there is such a thing as black supremacists?

Nah, probably not.

LOL

There are many empty gibbets

‘Invasion of the Capital’….uhmm… do you mean the crowd of citizens who strolled down to Capital and where many, but not all, were allowed entry into the Seat of their Congress? Where a handful of bad actors entered offices and one guy took a podium and some woman stole a laptop from the Speaker’s office?

At worst that sounds far more restrained than the ‘peaceful protests’ on display all summer where arson, looting, assault and worse was on display.

Maybe he meant Gen Ross, the British Commander who set fire to DC in 1814?

Where are all these dangerous ‘white supremacists’ hiding? Can you please show us a photo?

Granted there are some whacos out there who desperately want to believe that the color of their skin is somehow relevant. Some are even dangerous. But aside.from some whacos in and around Idaho or Northern Michigan there isn’t any organization…. unless you count the prison population; Aryan Brotherhood or whatever flavor they come in.

If the AG simply means Republican voters or blue collar workers or other average people who respect the Constitution and the rule of law while rejecting CRT then he needs to say so in a loud, clear and unequivocal manner.

I cannot comment on the Northern Michigan crowd, but I have some familiarity with the Northern Idaho crowd. They are White SEPARATISTS– that is they want to live with their own “kind”. They may or may not feel superior to dark skinned people, but they think they are different. I have never heard any of them (I am sure there are) advocating anything other than separatism. I don’t know if they feel “supremacist” or not, but they aren’t doing anything about it.
Generally speaking they keep to themselves. Survivalists, etc. Generally, if you live among them, you will find them generally good neighbors.

Gee–what about Black Student Unions, Black Dormitories, etc. ????

You do realise that Weaver believed in the separation of races. He is on record as saying that. Its not really that far fetched to call him a supremacist.

Brave Sir Robbin in reply to henrybowman. | May 14, 2021 at 1:13 pm

You do realize that belief in racial separatism does not justify shooting a 14 year old boy in the back while running away from federal agents, shooting an unarmed woman holding her infant child, and shooting another unarmed man in the back.

I hold racial separation to folly. Indeed, I hold the entire notion of race an evil folly. But as strange as I think the conceptions about race and religion held by Randy Weaver, his wife, and Mr. Harris were, I cannot discern they constituted any sort of public threat. In the “land of the free,” you are supposed to be allowed eccentric notions and positions on matters of both private and public interest and not be censored or murdered on their account.

CommoChief in reply to lichau. | May 13, 2021 at 7:14 pm

A ‘separatist’ who is basing that division upon immutable characteristics is espousing a doctrine that these immutable characteristics are a valid basis for that division and their withdrawal into exclusionary enclaves based on the same.

I have seen too much of the world to believe that BS.
Religious beliefs and affiliation are not based upon immutable characteristics.

Would I want to live with a bunch of ‘separatists’, of any ‘race’ nope. IMO, what you are describing as ‘seperatist’ is a more benign version of the cancer of racial division espoused by supremacists.

It’s a free country and people are going to behave in ways I disagree with. As long as folks respect the Constitutional framework and obey the law it doesn’t matter to me. Nor should it to anyone else. Other than to exercise my right to comment about it.

CommoChief in reply to randian. | May 14, 2021 at 7:59 am

          randian,

The d/progressive folks of all colors and flavors are pushing CRT and its ideological underpinnings.

This ideology is based upon racism; ie using the immutable characteristics of ‘race’ to determine if one is an oppressor or the oppressed. That determines whether one is rewarded or punished. Not your individual merits.

There are plenty of ‘white’ d/progressive pushing this lunacy of division into tribes. The elites in academia, the media and Fortune 500 companies most prominent among them.

Trying to shoehorn all ‘whites’ or all ‘blacks’ or all any other ‘race’ into one box due to the immutable characteristic of ‘race’ is …racism.

Doesn’t matter the intention. Doesn’t matter who is doing the categorization or it’s purpose. The fact is that using ‘race’ as a discriminatory factor is, IMO wrong.

This Nation has achieved the aspirational promises of our founding documents. All men created equal…ECT. It took a while but we did realize the goals as expressed by MLK a colorblind society.

At least briefly. Now many of all stripes seem to wish to throw that away. Not me.

When Ignatius Piazza designed Front Sight training complex just outside Clark County, Nevada, he envisioned it as a residential community of pro-gun-rights citizens that could be assured that their community (an incorporated town) would never suppress their Second Amendment freedoms.

        Separatists.

I was sorely tempted by the concept, but ultimately decided against it — not because it was “separatist,” but because I thought it was a bad tactical decision for a community of “enemies of the state” to essentially round themselves up for federal raiders.

Garland is anti-immigrant, that means. The only white supremacists today are blacks in Africa and Latinos in Central/South America trying to get to a white-run country.

And people wonder where antisemitism comes from.

With a name like Merick Garland? Who knew?

Notice that at least some Democrat politicians are anti-Semitic. I guess Garland is a Useful Jew to them.

I don’t know that the antisemites among the Dems find him all that useful.

But BillyHW’s comment is itself antisemitic. Claiming that antisemitism is caused by one Jew having a wrong opinion, or even by a lot of Jews having wrong opinions, is not only ignorant on the level of the left’s classic claim that crime is caused by poverty, but it also comes damned close to justifying it.

It’s like the claim that the reason there’s so much antisemitism in Russia and Eastern Europe is because so many Jews were Bolsheviks, and so many Bolsheviks were Jews. That is indeed so, but it is not the cause of the antisemitism; it would be more accurate to say it’s the result.

henrybowman in reply to Milhouse. | May 14, 2021 at 2:18 am

Your last sentence also well explains the recent rise of white pride sentiment over the last two years. Racism is not the actual cause of these troubles, but it is the result.

Keith_ in reply to Milhouse. | May 14, 2021 at 2:24 am

BillyHW is not “anti-Semitic” he is just *noticing* things that we are not allowed to notice.

This recent hysteria over “white supremacy” is really an attack on the white race – a blood libel on all white people and when you look at who is behind it you find its mostly people like Merrick Garland and his fellow tribe members in positions of political power and control of media.

Over 80% of Biden’s top cabinet positions are held by Jews despite Jews representing only 2% of the population. It is under the Biden Regime that the “white supremacy” big lie has flourished.

The “white supremacy” big lie/blood libel is pushed 24/7 in the media which is overwhelmingly controlled by Jews. Of all the major media outlets only Fox is owned by Gentiles and Fox stands alone in not pushing the “white supremacy is the biggest threat” lie.

BillyHW is right – people like Garland are causing anti-Semitism because whites are beginning to notice what is going on – what is being done and *who* is doing it to them and it is naturally causing resentment and anger.

The Merrick Garlands of the world need to realize that they are playing with fire. You cant demonize and defame an entire race of people – a people who built this country and who are responsible for its greatness – without expecting a backlash.

“White supremacy” is one of the biggest frauds perpetrated by the lying Left. There are no “white supremacists”! They do not exist. They are invented bogeymen, used for the same purpose as “Goldstein” in Orwell’s “1984”: as a target for the “two-minute hate”. Belief in “white supremacy” is an OPINION, not an action. The Left wants people persecuted for holding or expressing an OPINION. Thoughts have now been criminalized. NO ONE self-identifies as a “white supremacist”. The Left assigns the smear, then inflicts the punishment. It’s like the Salem witch trials. Fake “crime”. No defense possible. Death sentence as punishment. What a fantastic age of evil we live in!

    Milhouse in reply to mike6972. | May 14, 2021 at 1:09 am

They certainly exist. And they can be deadly. Garland is wrong, not because they’re a myth or because they’re not as bad as they’re painted, but because there are too few of them to threaten our republic. That wasn’t always the case, but it is now.

One month after a Muslim targeted 10 white people in CO. Garland is a liar and a crackpot.

St. Pyrenees | May 13, 2021 at 7:12 pm

To understand Garland here, we need to run his quote through a truthometer. I ran it through mine and this is what came out: “In my career as a judge and in law enforcement, I have not seen a more dangerous threat to our (“our” meaning the democrat socialists’ great reset cabal) democracy (“democracy,” of course, meaning “our” world as we envision it after we’ve built it back better) than the invasion of the Capitol (“the invasion of Capital,” also known as “white supremacy,” means Trump and those voting for him)”

There – now you have a more accurate statement of what runs through this Creten’s mind.

George_Kaplan | May 13, 2021 at 7:31 pm

So the greatest threat to democracy is a group that people seen only on TV or mentioned by the MSM, and the example Garland gives is a mostly peaceful rally attended by tens of thousands or even hundreds of millions?!?!? That’s crazy talk!

The reality is the greatest danger to democracy is a maladministration divorced from reality spewing fairy tales, dogma, and prejudice.

    CommoChief in reply to George_Kaplan. | May 13, 2021 at 8:18 pm

    George,

That is a very valid point. I was born in Alabama. I lived there for the first 18 years of my life. Joined the Army, came back to Alabama for College + grad school+ law school. Working in the State while I went to school.

Didn’t really like civilian life so I went back ‘home’ to the Army. Spent the last few years until my retirement in Texas. Spent another few years post retirement in Texas and just moved back to rural Alabama.

I have yet to see in person an actual Kluxer. Not once. I have never seen in person any rally or march by the Kluxers or any other racist jackass of any stripe in Alabama or Texas.

The Eastern Orthodox assholes we had to deal with in Bosnia and Kosovo would fit the bill. They did conduct an ethnic cleansing and were a total pain in the ass to deal with.

Maybe the Iraqis would qualify but that was 99% based on religious beliefs v ‘immutable characteristics’. So not a true fit there.

One would think that these folks are around every corner the way they are being presented. Why have I never met one of these asshats in person?

henrybowman in reply to CommoChief. | May 14, 2021 at 2:23 am

“I have yet to see in person an actual Kluxer. Not once.”

I’ve never seen Robert Byrd (D-WV) in person, but I saw him on TV lots.

CommoChief in reply to henrybowman. | May 14, 2021 at 8:17 am

        Henry,

Pithy comment but it serves to buttress the point; seen in news or depicted in entertainment but I have never seen one in person decked out in full regalia.

I don’t dispute that they exist. As a true national threat? No. These Kluxers don’t have any political strength nor the numbers/organization to be a true threat.

In the early to mid 20th century they hit their zenith. Had brief resurgence in the civil rights movement era. Today they are a pathetic and spent force. IMO.

The feds pushing this narrative need to start answering questions. How many? Where? Who? Then show us the evidence. Since they haven’t done so and it would advance their agenda to broadcast the evidence …I maintain that the evidence is either minimal or non existent.

Brave Sir Robbin in reply to CommoChief. | May 14, 2021 at 11:18 am

The point is they are defining Republicans and conservatives as white supremacists to justify various suppressive activities.

You must understand, you are the target of this vile rhetoric.

CommoChief in reply to CommoChief. | May 14, 2021 at 11:56 am

          Robin,

I fully understand that the intent of the racist d/progressive, among other racists, are attempting to forcibly place me into a ‘race based box’.

I am not going into that willingly. I refuse any attempt to reduce my identity or individual merit to a BS concept like ‘race’.

I will continue to resist these racist labels regardless of their origin. I will not be pushed or bullied or coerced into volunteering to adopt the racist philosophies of my political adversaries.

So in sum, I refuse to respond or react in the manner my political adversaries want me to; place the absurd and false construct of my ‘racial identity’ as the means through which I determine my actions, my associations, my voting habits or any other aspect of life.

IMO, if you do so you are playing straight into the hands of the ‘race’ hustlers who seek to keep us divided and thus weakened as a Nation of individual Citizens with individual not group rights and liberties.

In truth, history shows that men exactly like Merrick represent the greatest threat of all to democracies.

Ghost Rider | May 13, 2021 at 7:36 pm

How could anyone in Congress have voted to confirm this clown?

As democracy is perfected, the office of president represents, more and more closely, the inner soul of the people. On some great and glorious day the plain folks of the land will reach their heart’s desire at last and the White House will be adorned by a downright moron.

The likes of this clown are insane, bur not because of any delusions or cultishness – they are insane because of the outcome they desire: fascism and genocide.

And they mean it.

healthguyfsu | May 13, 2021 at 9:31 pm

Are there really people pinning Abrams for the SC? This is the first I’ve heard of it.

Not only is she grossly unqualified, but they can’t afford that. They need someone like her to try and squeeze a few donations and gin up the vote from the notoriously stingy minority factions of their party. She can’t rant and rave, throw out fallacies, boycott states, or in all other ways be fatloud Stacy on the SC.

white supremacist groups like the Oath Keepers and Proud Boys.

That’s a lie right there.

Five people died as a result of the attack.

After; not necessarily as a result of. The heart attacks and strokes might have happened even if those people had stayed home. The only death that was definitely a result of the day’s events was Ms Babbitt. And one can hardly blame that on white supremacists.

Brave Sir Robbin in reply to Milhouse. | May 14, 2021 at 11:27 am

“And one can hardly blame that on white supremacists.”

In the Democrat narrative, that blame goes like this. Trump is a white supremacists. Therefore, his supporters are white supremacists. Therefore, the Trump rally on the Mall on 06 JAN was a white supremacist rally. trump incited his white supremacist supporters to insurrection and attack the capitol during the count of the electoral college votes to stop the election of Joe Biden as president. Therefore white supremacy is the gravest threat to our democracy.

Ergo, Trump and his supporters are the gravest threat to our democracy.

They have to raise this wave to deflect from election fraud, which is a much greater actual threat to our democracy, because it cancels democratic preference, destroys trust in democratic institutions to include elections and elected bodies, and the legitimacy of the deliberative results of those elected bodies.

garland is not an idiot nor is he “sick”. he knows precisely what he is doing and what he is doing is intentional and with malice. garland is evil. Stop trying to be polite, or whatever. Call it what it is. Evil.

Any groups or philosophy that will cause Blacks to attack Asians is extremely dangerous.

henrybowman in reply to wukong. | May 15, 2021 at 4:07 am

Frankly, from the cases I’ve seen, I’m pretty sure that “philosophy” is so far down the list of potential motivations, it has yet to even show up.

It appears starting with Biden himself and going down through the ranks of his Administration there isn’t one capable, reasonably rational person who exhibits any meaningful level of intelligence to carry out their duties. It’s like they were all recruited from the loony bin.
