U. Cincinnati Not Mandating COVID Vaccines for Returning Students

“Although a vaccination is highly recommended, university officials said they will not mandate the vaccine for individuals to return to campus.”

This is newsworthy because it’s unusual. Most schools are mandating vaccines for returning students.

WLWT News reports:

University of Cincinnati will not mandate COVID-19 vaccine for students

The University of Cincinnati is the latest university to announce it will not mandate the COVID-19 vaccination for students, faculty or staff.

Although a vaccination is highly recommended, university officials said they will not mandate the vaccine for individuals to return to campus.

Thousand of college students in the Cincinnati area have already received their shots at mass vaccination sites across the area.

“I got the vaccine two weeks ago. I got the Johnson & Johnson one,” said Luke Bergman, a freshman.

Other students are waiting to get home for the summer before getting vaccinated.

“I have not gotten the vaccine yet because they stopped offering the Johnson & Johnson. I knew I would be leaving in a couple weeks so I felt it was better for me to get it at CVS or Walgreens,” said freshman Ian Eberts. “If I have to get the two I don’t want to have to come down here to get it.”

Recognizing not everyone is on board, Bergman says most of his friends haven’t had the vaccine. But for him, the shot is a green light to see grandparents.

“I think it’s fine that (the university) is not requiring it,” he said. “I understand why people are afraid to get it. And at some point hopefully it’ll be required, but until more research and information is out about it, I think it’s best not to be required.”

Eberts said he looks forward to a more normal college experience, adding freshman year was less social and isolating.

“at some point hopefully it’ll be required”

Still a little fascist at heart.

Great news!

Finally some actual science: 18-22 year olds aren’t at meaningful risk from covid.

Can someone explain how anyone can be “required” to take an experimental, non-FDA-approved vaccine? It’s my understanding that only the J&J product is a traditional vaccine that injects a weakened or dead virus to stimulate the body’s immune system to produce anti-bodies to protect against the virus. The other two messenger RNA-based so-called vaccines introduce altered genetic material to trick the immune system into defending against the disease. At least that’s what the pharmaceutical companies tell us it does. It is also my understanding that the FDA has never before approved a messenger RNA-bases treatment.

In fact, none of these supposed vaccines have received FDA approval, so there is no true measure of safety or efficacy associated with any of them. I’ll form my opinion by the fact that those encouraging people to take the jab are also saying you still have to wear a mask and ‘social distance’ even after getting vaccinated. If you still have to wear a mask and social distance, what’s the purpose of getting the vaccine in the first place?

The world’s population has essentially become pharmaceutical company guinea pigs and test subjects and, at least in the U.S., the companies are shielded from legal liability for any adverse effects. Not only are the companies are shielded from liability by the government, the government is paying them hundreds of millions of dollars to produce the vaccines and doing the advertising the vaccines for them.

And I question the need for a vaccine since there are effective treatments and a greater than 99% survival rate.
