Pelosi Sought To Have Military Limit Trump’s Authority As Commander-In-Chief

Pelosi Sought To Have Military Limit Trump’s Authority As Commander-In-Chief

Was Pelosi “orchestrating a military coup against a sitting president”?

Democrats, their activist media arm, and their Big Tech doorkeepers are perilously close to pressing their advantage far too far and alienating sympathetic right-leaning and centrist voters with their ongoing attacks on President Trump.

Not only has the sitting President of the United States of America been deplatformed pretty much everywhere on the internet, but House Speaker Nancy Pelosi reportedly spoke to the Joint Chiefs about stripping him of his Constitutional authority with regard to his role as Commander in Chief.

Politico reports:

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi spoke with the nation’s top military officer on Friday about precautions in place to prevent President Donald Trump from ordering a nuclear strike or conducting other military hostilities as Democrats seek his removal from office.

The stunning revelation came in a letter from the speaker to House Democrats outlining next steps following a violent breach of the U.S. Capitol on Wednesday by Trump supporters. Pelosi said she spoke to Joint Chiefs Chairman Gen. Mark Milley about guardrails in place that could prevent “an unstable president” from wielding the military or the country’s nuclear arsenal.

“This morning, I spoke to the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Mark Milley to discuss available precautions for preventing an unstable president from initiating military hostilities or accessing the launch codes and ordering a nuclear strike,” Pelosi said in the letter.

“The situation of this unhinged President could not be more dangerous, and we must do everything that we can to protect the American people from his unbalanced assault on our country and our democracy,” she added.

Milley’s spokesperson, Col. Dave Butler, said Pelosi initiated the call with the chairman. “He answered her questions regarding the process of nuclear command authority.”

The sound bite of the day was supposed to be that she is safeguarding America from an “unhinged” president with his finger on some imaginary nuke button.  What it was, however, may be considered an attempt to “orchestrate a military coup against a sitting president.”

Yes, this is the next level of propaganda.

Pelosi literally held a press conference the other day (and CNN reported it dutifully as “BREAKING NEWS”) that she had spoken with the military to be assured that President Trump would not be able to launch nuclear weapons should he decide to in his final days.

Seriously….how do people not see through this charade?

The don’t want to, they think they’re going to reap the rewards. As useful idiots, they’re going to be sorely disappointed to find out the elites don’t like them any more than conservatives.

We may as well I’ll start learning to speak Pan-American dialect Spanish. We are becoming a banana republic, we may as well use the language.

At this stage, who would have the “audacity” to bring what charges before whom? They’re embolden now! Just a sample of what’s to come, I suppose.

The justice department has become the Department that just investigates Republicans.

“Nancy Pelosi tried orchestrating a military coup against a sitting president”

I agree, what is the penalty for this, is it treason, can she be put in front of a firing squad?

As we all know, if she actually thought he was “unstable,” she would never publicize her concerns, because that could push an “unstable” man over the edge.

This is all for the consumption of lo-info voters.

He actually is one of the most stable high profile people I’ve ever observed. All he’s been through in the last 5 years would have wrecked an unstable man. Accusations of treason with the Russians… Being smeared constantly as deplorable etc… Being spied upon relentlessly…. Having his children targeted, his business targeted, his lawyer targeted, his campaign staff targeted. His nominees targeted.

Honestly, Pelosi is COUNTING ON HIS STABILITY, or she would never utter such malicious vicious drivel.

Stable ? A man who repeats conspiracy theories and throws tantrums when people disagree with him is not stable. Given the circumstances at the capitol I’d be surprised if no one had the conversation with the military.

“Pelosi reportedly spoke to the Joint Chiefs about stripping him of his Constitutional authority with regard to his role as Commander in Chief.”

This is sedition, at worst, or an anti-constitutional attack on the seperation of powers.

Is it just me, everything I see about her screams uppity, self centered, spoiled brat, dishonest. throughly unlikable.

If a few hundred people breaking into a government building is “sedition,” then an attempt to subvert the constitutionally-mandated chain of command and to wrest authority from a duly-elected chief executive officer is certainly seditious.

If Pelosi believes that Trump is too dangerous to have his finger on the button, that’s what the 25th Amendment is for. Evading the amendment is an extra-legal end-run around the Constitution. If what she says is true, it’s an admission that she has violated her oath of office and she should be removed from her seat – and then tried for sedition. (Like that’s going to happen. She could admit to killing babies and, at this point, would be untouchable.)

No, it’s protected both by the first amendment and by the speech or debate clause. And of course she won’t resign, why would she? She has no shame, and she has no reason to care what anyone thinks.

“Democrats, their activist media arm, and their Big Tech doorkeepers are perilously close to pressing their advantage far too far and alienating sympathetic right-leaning and centrist voters with their ongoing attacks on President Trump.”

HA! For one thing, the NeverTrump escape hatch will be, “Both sides do it, but Trump was much worse.”

For another, even if they had a Road to Damascus-type conversion to common sense, there is nothing they can do now. They may fantasize about dumping the Communists in 2022, but all adults know that voting fraud will make sure that never happens

Dump that declassified info ASAP. Blow these traitors the hell up.

Information is classified for a reason; Trump is unlikely to know what should be declassified.

Trump was counting on Grennell, Burr and now Ratcliffe to navigated those dangerous waters. Grennell helped out, Burr didn’t do anything that I can see and Ratcliffe seems to signal that he is over head too.

Each day getting closer to look like an episode from the “Man in the High Castle”

They haven’t stopped pushing and won’t anytime soon.
And it won’t be pretty when it hits tipping point.
A couple broken windows no matter by whom is not a insurrection.

This witch is showing how low and weak she is.

If there is a military coup, this POS should adorn the front grill of a humvee.

The Democrats are going to try to use this riot as their Reichstag fire to limit our first and second amendment freedoms.

They have introduced bills to ban “hate speech,” with a malleable definition that they can construe to outlaw anything they don’t like. They have also introduced HR 5717, which will terminate all private ownership of firearms without government approval and licensing.

Politico. Violent breach by Trump supporters.
Maybe you should find a different source? One that isn’t so blatantly bigoted?

Why? The Politico report I actually cited (i.e. NOT the one you mention) is straightforward and simply quotes Pelosi and others related to my post. Where is the ‘blatant bigotry’ in the quoted material that appears in this post to which you are responding?

You may not realize this, but LI is not a news site, never has been, likely never will be. We don’t break the news (outside of LIF’s investigative work), we just report on what others have already broken, often with our own “take” on it. Thus it has ever been. I already don’t link to a number of media sites that I, personally, dislike (for my own reasons, not yours), and when I do include them, I also include an archive link so you can see the original material without adding to their clicks. So yeah, I will continue to cite Politico and the Hill and a handful of other “blatantly bigoted” sites because they sometimes get things right. As here.

“are perilously close to pressing their advantage far too far and alienating sympathetic right-leaning and centrist voters with their ongoing attacks on President Trump.”

So what are we going to do if they alienate us?

pelosi and the left are running around with their hair on fire in regards to PDJT. Big tech purges. msm at TDS level 12. dems, rinos screaming at the sky. NOT the actions of confident, happy winners. More like the condemned being led to the figurative guillotines. The left took this as far as they could; a deadly serious game of chicken. PDJT is driving the MAGA train. He’s not able to swerve, and definitely not going to pull the E-brake. nancy and her ilk are standing on the tracks, in front of industrial grade kitchen freezers, eating chok-lit ice cream with that stupid, pained grin on their faces.

You do understand the light in which the capitol protestor are seen? If someone is considered to have attacked the heart of democracy wouldn’t you scream bloody murder?

      Mac45 in reply to mark311. | January 10, 2021 at 11:40 am

Seen by whom? The political elite? Demanding to have your voice heard in matters politic is the basis of democracy.

This is analogous to the run-up to the French Revolution. The political class, in this country, cared not a whit when rampaging mobs of barbarians destroyed statues and monuments, looted businesses, burned cities, carved out secessionist areas of the nation and actually injured and killed hundreds of people. But, they are enraged that the People would come to the People’s House and demand entry so that they could air their grievances. Now their heads are on the block and they are terrified.

To make matters worse, increasing evidence that election fraud actually reversed a Presidential election continues to surface. If it is taken to heart, by the People, the political class, in this country, is in very big trouble. And, they know it.

And suppose a senile dementia-addled Joe Biden tried to order a nuclear strike against some country after he hallucinated an attack against the US—Nancy “Needs a 2 x 4 to the head” Pelosi would be yelling MUTINY and TREASON if the US armed forces refused to comply to such an insane order.

That hypocrite should be removed from the line of succession and placed into a inpatient mental facility for life.

no sworn service member(regardless of rank)is obligated to obey an unlawful order–so long as either the pres/vp are alive, she has no unilateral authority–she would be told to piss off

nuke protocols(in place since the ’50’s)are clear and specific–one of the reasons we have yet to have an international incident involving their use/release

This senile old bat needs to be removed from office before anyone else.

Guess her military coup d’etat didn’t come off as well as her civilian coup d’etat which seems to have gone off splendidly

I’m sure Milley referred the Speaker’s blatant constitutional (ie, separation-of-powers) infraction to the appropriate DOJ officials for proper disposition.

Oh, he didn’t? How ’bout that — I mean, who would’ve thought…?

“Nancy Pelosi tried orchestrating a military coup against a sitting president”

Why use two words like “military coup” when one word will not only do, but captures Malig-Nancy’s perfidy even better?

In the Navy we have the perfect word for it. Mutiny. The spawn of Satan went to the JCS and tried to pressure them to mutiny against their Commander in Chief.

Since mutiny is only a felony if you’re actually subject to the UCMJ, I suppose sedition will have to do.

The Privilege from Arrest Clause does not and was never intended to shield a member of either house of Congress from arrest and prosecution for a criminal offense. Williamson v. United States, 207 U.S. 425 (1908).

The very words of the clause “…in all Cases, except Treason, Felony, and Breach of the Peace…” illustrate that the privilege did not extend to criminal cases. Some may argue and try to make the case for Treason, but I’m not quite as eager since that is the only crime actually defined in the Constitution (Art. III, Section III). While 18 U.S.C. §2387 may not be a Breach of the Peace, it is certainly a felony to advise, counsel, or urge insubordination, mutiny or refusal of duty to any member of the military or naval forces of the United States.

I don’t think the Speech and Debate Clause would apply in this case because her action was not an integral part of the deliberative process by which legislation is considered and passed. Nor can urging insubordination, mutiny or refusal of duty by any member of the armed forces be considered a matter within the jurisdiction of either House. Gravel v. United States (1982).
