Biden’s Pentagon Nominee Vows To Purge Ideological “Enemies … Within Our Own Ranks”

Biden’s Pentagon Nominee Vows To Purge Ideological “Enemies … Within Our Own Ranks”

Vows to “rid our ranks of racists and extremists,” but given the left’s expansive definitions of “racists” and “extremists,” politics cannot be far behind.

https://youtu.be/FJDv8pbjepk

The radical left has long eyed our military with suspicion, revulsion, and disdain. So much so that during his presidency, Obama did everything he could to shrink the military to pre-WWII levels, purge military leadership of all who were not ‘progressive’ sycophants, and chip away at the rank and file’s ideological and religious liberty.

As I blogged in 2015, “the army has sadly become famous for its attacks on Christianity and its Christian soldiers.  For example, the army labeled Christian Ministries ‘domestic hate groups,’ Bibles were banned from Walter Reed Army Medical Center (a decision that was later rescinded), chaplains have been ordered not to quote the Bible or pray in Jesus’ name.

It’s really no wonder that Obama was the least popular president with active-duty members of the military. It would seem that the Biden administration is intent on expanding Obama’s desecration of our military by conducting witch hunts for “extremists” and “racists” among its ranks.  Considering that we all know these terms are used by the left to actually mean Republicans or anyone who does not toe the radical progressive line, this is truly alarming.

This renewed war on the center-right and right started with the events at the Capitol on January 6th.  The left seized it as their own personal Reichstag fire and used it to justify Big Tech’s purge of wrong think on social media platforms, the blacklisting of Trump administration employees, and the incredible assertion that all 75 million Trump voters must be “punished” and “purged” from public life.

To that end, 12 National Guard members were pulled from inauguration duty without due process and reportedly for showing support on social media pages “for affiliations with the NRA, Turning Point USA, and other conservative groups.”  This is what is considered “extremist” in Biden’s America.

We should not be surprised, of course, given that during the Obama-Biden administration, their DHS issued a memo warning our nation’s police to be on the lookout for:

rightwing extremism in the United States” as including not just racist or hate groups, but also groups that reject federal authority in favor of state or local authority. “It may include groups and individuals that are dedicated to a single-issue, such as opposition to abortion or immigration,” the warning says.

A lot has changed since the release of that 2009 memo. None of those changes favor an Iowa grandma who opposes abortion or anyone who supports the 10th (or 1st, 2nd, etc.) Amendment.  These “extremists” must be purged and punished, and they absolutely cannot be permitted to serve in our nation’s military.

To that end, Biden’s Pentagon pick has vowed to rid the military of “racists and extremists.”

Breitbart reports:

During his opening remarks, Lloyd Austin stated:

We also owe our people a working environment free of discrimination, hate and harassment. If confirmed, I will fight hard to stamp out sexual assault, to rid our ranks of racists and extremists, and to create a climate where everyone fit and willing has the opportunity to serve this country with dignity. The job of the Department of Defense is to keep America safe from our enemies. But we can’t do that if some of those enemies lie within our own ranks.

Democrats in recent days have sounded the alarm over the prospect of extremists in the military, after veterans and active-duty members of the military were identified attending a pro-Trump protest at the Capitol on January 6, with some breaching the Capitol building.

Some Democrats have suggested that members of the National Guard posed an insider threat to the inauguration on Tuesday. Rep. Steve Cohen (D-TN) said Monday on CNN that he predicted that 75 percent of white male National Guard members protecting the event were an insider threat.

. . . . Austin said having potential racist or extremist behavior in the military is “absolutely unacceptable” and said he would work to make sure it is “absolutely clear” that that behavior does not fit military values.

“I will want the leaders of all the services and all of the departments to make sure that they’re doing the right things to set the right example and to create the right climate that discourages and eliminates that type of behavior,” he said.

“And this is not something we can be passive on. This is something I think we have to be active on and we have to lean into it and make sure we’re doing the right things to create the right climate,” he said.

Watch:

It’s particularly chilling and frightening because today’s Democrats, their activist media arm, and their Big Tech gatekeepers claim that any and every Republican from members of Congress to your neighbor and including every center-right or right-leaning person who holds the “wrong” and unapproved viewpoint instantly receives a label: racist, extremist, Nazi, white supremacist, terrorist, insurrectionist, and traitor.

And it doesn’t stop there.  According to John Brennan, this sweeping purge includes libertarians, as well.

how long was he at the upper levels of the military, sounds like whatever he did in the past wasn’t very effective, if this indeed an real issue.

I can’t believe this is the country that I served many years ago.

I don’t think conflating J Brennan’s remarks with Gen Austin is a fair thing to do. Brennan is a complete whackadoodle.
Austin didn’t make any statement that any other SR nominee would not make.

Like it or not the military has to adapt to the political policies of their civilian commander in chief. That’s how our system works for good or ill.

Unfortunately during the Obama administration, but also the Clinton and GW Bush administration’s the selection for SR officers became more politicized. One example is HR McMaster. He was passed over for selection to flag rank several times.

This is the same guy who was Nat. Security Advisor to DJT, later resigned very publicly. If he couldn’t get promoted to General Officer without the personal intervention of D Patraeus when he was CoS Army …..

I personally wouldn’t read too much into Gen Austin remarks. He is parroting what has been the Army ‘company line’ for over two decades. I will take a wait and see approach while remembering that the POTUS directs the DoD policy or maybe that is Susan Rice?

Whether those policies are constitutional or not?

Sounds like Adolf’s loyalty oath to the Wehrmacht.

CommoChief in reply to SDN. | January 21, 2021 at 10:24 pm

      Wow!!!!

Lighten up man. Gen Austin made no mention of a loyalty oath and neither did I. The POTUS is the commander in chief. Period, the end. If you don’t want to serve under a President whose political ideology you find objectionable, resign, don’t reenlist or wait to enlist until his term of office ends.

The only oath is to support and defend the Constitution and obey the lawful (Constitutional) orders from superiors.

An order to bayonet a baby isn’t lawful or Constitutional as one example. An order to the military to round up a bunch of US Citizens based upon their ideology; political affiliation, religious beliefs ECT is likewise unlawful and Unconstitutional.

Could you please quote from Gen Austin’s remarks what you object to and state the reasoning for that objection? I really don’t get what you see.

“Like it or not the military has to adapt to the political policies of their civilian commander in chief. That’s how our system works for good or ill.”

180 dg out from reality, legality, and the stated values of the organization. Unless of course you can convince yourself the values change with the political winds. That is most definitely NOT how our system works.

The Commander in Chief of the U.S. Armed Forces is not the Chief Political Kommissar of the U.S. Armed Forces. That’s how the system works in the PRC’s People’s Liberation Army, and how it worked in the former Soviet Union. If a President didn’t intend to impose his political ideology on the members of the armed forces, there is no reason to expect anyone to “adapt to the political policies of their civilian commander in chief.”

Of course, when I say something is not how our system works, that doesn’t mean leftist ideologues will try to impose it anyway. Look at the confirmation hearings of Amy Coney Barrett. The Constitution, which is the fundamental law of the land that lays out how our system works, states unequivocally that there shall be no religious test “as a Qualification to any Office or public Trust under the United States.” It’s illegal, unconstitutional, but that doesn’t stop leftists from imposing a religious test anyway. And in fact the leftist lawyers the Harris/Biden administration will be infesting the executive branch with are hell bent on imposing the standard that traditional Catholic beliefs (really, Christian beliefs that conform with scripture, and which are orthodox Muslim and Jewish moral precepts as well) are to be considered so “taboo” that anyone who holds them is barred from public office.

        The hell with the Constitution.

Here’s a @JoeBiden staffer saying that orthodox Christianity, Islam, and Judaism should be made “taboo” and driven from the public sphere. Beneath all the talk of “interfaith” and “pluralism,” this is what they really believe…”

Unity! Let’s all unite around leftist dogma and reject the Bible, or be declared an enemy of the state. There is, of course, more at the link. Nikitha Rai isn’t simply a “Biden staffer.” She represents the official Biden administration policy. Biden, the pretend Catholic and now our Pretender-in-Chief, speaking at a Human Rights Campaign (there’s Orwellian doublespeak for you) function in 2018 said that people who actually believed what the Catholic church teaches on the subject of homosexuality and transgenderism thusly:

“They’re a small percentage of the American people, virulent people, some of them THE DREGS OF SOCIETY. And instead of using the full might of the executive branch to secure justice, dignity, safety for all, the president uses the White House as a literal bully pulpit, callously exerting his power over those who have little or none.”

“If you don’t want to serve under a President whose political ideology you find objectionable, resign, don’t reenlist or wait to enlist until his term of office ends.”

So, CommoChief, should officers who take their oath to the Constitution seriously resign when presented with a President whose ideology involves trashing the Constitutional guarantees of free exercise of religion or whose ideology requires religious tests to hold office (they’re called officers for a reason) despite the fact the Constitution says there shall be no such test?

        https://www.stripes.com/judge-obama-sex-assault-comments-unlawful-command-influence-1.225974

“…‘I expect consequences,’ Obama added. ‘So I don’t just want more speeches or awareness programs or training, but ultimately folks look the other way. If we find out somebody’s engaging in this, they’ve got to be held accountable — prosecuted, stripped of their positions, court martialed, fired, dishonorably discharged. Period.’

The judge’s pretrial ruling means that if either defendant is found guilty, whether by a jury or a military judge, they cannot receive a bad conduct discharge or a dishonorable discharge. Sailors found guilty under the Uniform Code of Military Justice’s Article 120, which covers several sexual crimes including assault and rape, generally receive punitive discharges.

“A member of the public would not hear the President’s statement to be a simple admonition to hold members accountable,” Fulton stated. ‘A member of the public would draw the connection between the ‘dishonorable discharge’ required by the President and a punitive discharge approved by the convening authority.’

… However, in recent months there has been a lot more said — and in overly specific terms — about sexual assault by military and political leaders, Hansen noted. Obama’s call for dishonorable discharges is an example of such specificity, which begins to sound to military juries like a direct order from the commander in chief.

‘This is bad lawyering on [Obama’s] advisor’s part,’ Hansen said. ‘It’s certainly not a problem to say that sexual assault is a bad thing and we need to weed it out … that’s innocuous. It’s when they get very pointed that it’s problematic.’”

Make no mistake; the administration’s push for more convictions in sexual harrassment/misconduct/assault cases was purely for domestic political purposes. Obama in particular, and the Democrats in general, wanted courts martial to become more like college kangaroo pseudo-courts, where when a student is accused he is also simultaneously convicted no matter how much damage to the principle of due process they have to do to achieve the politically required result.

The article notes that Marine Corps Commandant Gen. Amos stated that 80% of sexual harrassment/misconduct/assault cases were legitimate. So, anything less than an 80% conviction rate meant courts martial and juries were just winking at “legitimate” instances of criminal sexual activity. At least, that’s what Gen Amos’ crystal ball said. Congress couldn’t have made it any clearer. Either deliver the desired rate of convictions or they’d take jurisdiction in such cases away from commanders and turn them over to political lackeys who would deliver.

Should officers involved in the administration of military justice have resigned rather than pushed back against the “political ideology” of the CinC?

The Defense Equal Opportunity Management Institute (DEOMI) has long been a bastion of Marxist dogma; specifically, cultural Marxism (when the German communists of the Frankfurt school noted to their dismay that members of the proletariat rather than developing their proper class consciousness following WWI instead aspired to become members of the bourgeoisie they realized that rather than encourage revolution using the language of economic class they instead needed to put everything in terms of race and gender in order to destroy America). Hence their EO training:

        https://www.usni.org/magazines/proceedings/2014/january/deckplates-do-not-use-job

“The Department of Defense continues to make news for the wrong reasons. A recent example involves reports of Defense Equal Opportunity Management Institute (DEOMI) training for personnel assigned as equal opportunity advisers throughout the DOD.

Criticism of DEOMI last October involved a lesson on Power and Privilege, chapter EOAC-3000 of the Equal Opportunity Advisor Course student guide. The chapter emphasizes how “power and privilege can sometimes create exclusive work environments at the expense of others” and introduces students to the concept of white privilege. Two themes of that chapter deserve scrutiny. The first is that white males gain privileges and success through ‘unearned advantage.’ The second is the assumption that ‘racism is everywhere.’”

Just as it is taken as faith on the left that anyone who insists on their right to free exercise of religion, and to have a right to their own conscience, is an intolerant bigot it is a matter of faith that anyone who refuses to submit fully to and repeat leftist racial pieties on demand must be a racist. Their dogma is obvious B.S. So much so that they need to silence their opposition since their B.S. falls apart like a house of cards in any kind of breeze.

Should officers resign if they don’t agree with a political ideology that states most of their troops (as well as they themselves) are irredeemable racists, engaging in racism every day? So much for the equal protection clause of that Constitution we swore to uphold and defend from all enemies foreign and domestic.

Things were bad when I was in. I retired in 2008, about a year before Obama was inaugurated. They’re worse now. When Obama decided to open up all roles to gays in the military they gave everyone identifiable login IDs and passwords. They made it clear that everyone would be on board with the progressive program. The word went out; there would be NO problems. Anyone who noticed that there would be problems, or later commented on the problems, would be signing up for re-education and if they didn’t take that hint then they were signing up for career suicide. At least, that was the case for officers and senior enlisted.

I recall how John Sheehan, a retired Marine four star and former NATO commander, testified in 2010 that the Dutch CoS told him that the presence of gays in the military had weakened morale to the extent that Dutch peace-keepers completely folded to Serbian forces. The Srebrenica massacre was ruled a genocide, the first and only genocide in Europe to date.

That caused an uproar. Of course, no one really refuted his statement. That’s what made it memorable. The Dutch PM said that there was nothing in the final after-action report that hinted that the presence of gay couples in the peace-keeping force had any role in the Dutch collapse.

Of course not, I reflected after the final report came out following the 2013 Fort Hood massacre. You know what didn’t make it into that final report? The name Nidal Malik Hasan nor the word Islam nor any reference to Islam.

You see, in 2011 in a coordinated WH/Islamic front-group move to whitewash the very real connections between the theologically correct, historically irrefutable ties between the ideology of Islam and terrorism, a number of Muslim Brotherhood associated front-groups wrote the WH demanding all mentions if Islam in counter-terror/anti-terror/national security training materials be scrubbed and former trainers be blacklisted. Only MB-approved trainers and training materials could be used. Naturally the Obama admin eagerly accepted the ultimatum they no doubt had agreed to ahead of time (can you say “collusive litigation,” boys and girls?).

This was akin to handing over intel collection and analysis to the KGB during the cold war. Or fighting WWII while being told it was racist to drawing any sort of connection between suicidal Kamikaze/mass Banzai attacks and the Shinto religion in general, the specific Shinto beliefs that the Japanese Emperor was a descendant of the sun goddess Ameratsu, was himself a living god, and that any Japanese who died in combat in the service of the emperor would be enshrined at the Yasukuni temple in Tokyo as a demi-god.

Obama so politicized intelligence because he simply didn’t want to hear that Islam had anything to do with terrorism (that would have come as shocking news to the last Ottoman Caliph who issued fatwas out the yazoo during WWI explaining that terror jihad by the individual, in small groups, and the entire ummah or Islamic community was the religious duty of every Muslim) the intel analysts at CENTCOM practically mutinied and demanded (and got) an IG investigation into the administration’s improprieties.

The DNI, you see, was jumping the entire intel and military chains of command and going directly to the CENTCOM J2 and telling him exactly what to put into his intel reports. Nothing came of it, of course.

These ideologically-driven policies, political to the core, were getting people killed. No one made that more obvious than Army CoS Casey when after the news of the Fort Hood massacre came out remarked that as big a “tragedy” (tragedy, no; atrocity, yes) as it was it would be an even bigger tragedy if it interfered with the DoD’s diversity initiatives.

But they weren’t as clear cut as being ordered to bayonet babies or round up “disloyal” American citizens. Would any court have declared any of these political games the Obama admin, and now the certainly the Harris/Biden administration, did and will play with people’s lives unconstitutional? Should the CENTCOM analysts have gracefully resigned rather than lie for the pleasure of the President?

        I don’t think so.

CommoChief in reply to Arminius. | January 22, 2021 at 5:17 pm

          Arminius,

That was pretty long to read through to find the two questions you asked me or implied.

          1. ‘180 degrees wrong that the Services must adapt to the policy preferences of the President’

Of course they do. As an example: DJT wanted a reduction in troop levels in Afghanistan. The SR leaders civilian and military are duty bound to deliver. OR they…

          2. Resign from position or one’s Commission.. Yes that is a practical option. If your boss is giving orders that you disagree with and feel strongly about that your conscious won’t let you execute then resign.

All the rest of that post is, IMO, projecting your fears into the mundane remarks of Gen Austin. If he starts hounding people out for listening to a Lynyrd Skynyrd song then I will admit my mistake.

Arminius in reply to Arminius. | January 22, 2021 at 9:06 pm

CommoChief, I was obviously not talking about second guessing the civilian leadership when it comes to appropriate force levels. I was clearly talking about using the military for social engineering purposes.

Not, mind you, as an experiment to see if something will or won’t work. But using the chain of command as a sledgehammer to make it clear that THERE WILL BE NO PROBLEMS with whatever stupid experiment is thrust upon the troops. Which of course means the leadership preemptively declares the new policy a success before the experiment begins, and nobody better say anything differently from the approved narrative no matter how badly the experiment turns out and no matter how intolerable the situation becomes for the troops.

When the Obama administration decided to allow gays to serve in the military, they then decided to cobble together the evidence that it would be no problem. As I said, it was a top down, “The beatings will continue until morale improves” type process. Officers and enlisted had to take surveys about their attitudes toward serving with gays in the military, and the commanders made clear what exactly the results their bosses in the Obama administration expected. The Marine and Naval officers and senior enlisted I knew (I had only retired two years earlier) told me they were assigned login IDs and passwords for the surveys. Gee, like it would be hard to figure out who gave what answers, and therefore who needed reeducation or who needed to be shown the door.

Guess what? The survey results were exactly what the administration expected.

          https://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2014/mar/25/sailors-leaving-navy-over-stress-on-social-issues-/

The mind boggles that you accuse me of projecting my fears when I’m talking about the failed track record; actual disasters the leftists inflicted upon the armed forces.

How can I “project” my fears on the failures of the Obama administration? The 2013 Boston Marathon bombing and the 2009 Fort Hood massacre (I was thinking of the first when I earlier said the Fort Hood massacre took place in 2013; Nidal Malik Hasan’s court martial was in 2013) were the direct result of the Obama administration’s political ideology. Despite 1300 years of history to the contrary, they decreed that there was no link between Islam and terror. Allah and Muhammad’s hundreds of statements to the contrary notwithstanding.

Surah 8:12: ” Your Lord revealed to the angels: ‘I am with you: give the believers firmness; I shall put terror into the hearts of the disbelievers- strike above their necks and strike all their fingertips.’”

When Michael Adebolajo and his accomplices murdered British Army Drummer Lee Rigby on the streets of London he mutilated the soldier’s body in exactly the way commanded by Allah in the Quran. And cited chapter and verse in the theologically correct manifesto he had a bystander record on her cellphone as he waved his bloody knife-filled hands around for emphasis.

          https://muflihun.com/bukhari/52/220

          “Narrated Abu Huraira:

Allah’s Apostle said, “I have been sent with the shortest expressions bearing the widest meanings, and I HAVE BEEN MADE VICTORIOUS WITH TERROR (cast in the hearts of the enemy), and while I was sleeping, the keys of the treasures of the world were brought to me and put in my hand.” Abu Huraira added: Allah’s Apostle has left the world and now you, people, are bringing out those treasures (i.e. the Prophet did not benefit by them).”

Hasan also delivered a theologically correct manifesto to his colleagues. It was more polished than Adebolajo’s; he gave it in the form of powerpoint presentation during what was supposed to be peer-to-peer professional training. The clear message was not lost on his fellow army docs, but their chain of command refused to listen and instead threatened to accuse them of bigotry, racism, blah blah blah for threatening their precious EO scores.

13 personnel were killed and over 30 wounded as a result of the willful ideological blindness enforced by the Obama administration. They then doubled down on accusing anyone who pointed out he glaringly obvious, the fact that Islam and terrorism, conquest, oppression, and genocide are inextricably linked.

Care for a history lesson on the Muslim conquest of India, when Muslim Emirs and their generals competed to see who could build the highest mountains of severed Hindu, Buddhist, Jain, and later Sikh skulls. Care for a point by point lesson on how the Ottoman genocides of the Assyrians and Armenians were studied by their WWI German allies as an outline for their planned genocide of the Jews? Right down to the fact that, since the world gave (and still gives) the Turks a pass for those genocides the Germans figured their genocide would be quickly forgotten, too.

As I mentioned, in 2011 the Obama administration put the foxes in charge of the hen house when they put Ikhwan-affiliated organizations in charge of DoD/intelligence/national security training. All references to Islam were scrubbed from the training materials. So when the Russian security services tried to warn the FBI about the Tsarnaev brothers, particularly Tamerlan who had gone to Chechnya to train for jihad, the FBI completely dropped the ball. “Jihad, what’s that?” the agents no doubt thought. “Oh, I remember; my (Muslim Brotherhood approved) instructors taught us that jihad is an internal spiritual struggle against sin. Good on the Tsarnaevs!”

How can I be projecting when I’m talking about a history lesson that won’t be learned? When they asked Austin about “racists and extremists” he was talking about me, since reading and actually doing counter-terror/anti-terror intelligence collection and analysis has now been “racist” for the past ten years.

This is not an exaggeration. The largest voting block in the UN general assembly is the Organization of Islamic Cooperation; 57 Muslim-majority countries plus the West Bank and Gaza. They have largely succeeded in convincing the muddle-headed western pols (none more muddle-headed then Tapioca-eatin’ Granpa Joe sitting at the kiddie table in the Oval office) that it is in fact racist to do what was completely uncontroversial when I had my hand in. Although, things were going bad under George “Islam means peace” Bush2 toward the end of my career. I wanted to slap him since Islam means submission, salaam (the Arabic cognate of the Hebrew shalom) means peace but then that idiot was the first one to give the MB a place at the table. His successor put the MB in charge of the place settings and the menu.

Once more for emphasis. Islam is not a race. It doesn’t even have rights since only people have rights and Islam is not a person but an ideology. As a matter of reason it is no more racist to study the enemy’s playbook (it’s thin and they’ve been using it for 1300 years over and over; a five year old can understand it) than it was to study Shinto to understand what motivated the participants of suicidal Kamikaze/Banzai mass wave attacks during WWII.

But then we weren’t suicidal or stupid or stupid in the 1940s. We are now, as evidenced by the rise of Harris/Biden. And I find it bizarre that you accuse me of “projecting my fears” when I’m talking about being able to absorb a history lesson. Austin tells me that he’ll go along to get along when the leftists continue their Bolshevik trend of declaring history racist (Hey, CommoChief, where did all those statues go?) and declaring anyone who has learned the lessons of history white supremacist patriarchal Islamophobic transphobic xenophobes.

When you get a prospectus for a stock it comes with a disclaimer. “Past performance is no guarantee of future results.” With this “Death to America” crowd it is.

CommoChief in reply to Arminius. | January 23, 2021 at 9:28 am

          Arminius,

I totally agree that we.shouldn’t have a.social experiment military. The purpose of the military is to protect our Nation’s security interests when the diplomatic corps and politicians have failed.

My point about projection; you are taking events and putting them into Gen Austin’s lap.

IMO let’s wait and see what he does. I could frankly care less about what a SR official says they will do than what they actually do.

Let’s give, now Sec Def Austin the opportunity to succeed or fail, judging him on his actions and performance in office.

zennyfan in reply to CommoChief. | January 21, 2021 at 9:41 pm

If the good general believes the ranks are infested with white supremacists, extremists, and terrorists, he should have put his stars to good use and acted sooner. As it is, he seems to be the perfect marionette for whomever is pulling Biden’s strings.

CommoChief in reply to zennyfan. | January 21, 2021 at 10:08 pm

That isn’t what he said. Not even close.

Personally I don’t have any problems with what he said. This is not different than any current policy.

Maybe because I lived it for 27 years I am not too upset. I endured many training sessions and even presented some sessions on the ideals of military service.

Those remarks of Gen Austin were …..unremarkable. This is basic stuff; no one should expect that openly racist or any other ist can be allowed to serve. Period.

I am not sure what exactly you find objectionable in his actual remarks. His, not John Brennan. Not trying to parse his words or attempting to put a spin on his remarks.

Don’t make this into something it isn’t. I choose to wait see what changes from current policy. I will happily admit if I am proven wrong.

Could you please quote from his remarks the part you find objectionable and state why you disagree? That would help me understand what you are saying.

gospace in reply to CommoChief. | January 21, 2021 at 10:33 pm

It is exactly what he said: “We also owe our people a working environment free of discrimination, hate and harassment. If confirmed, I will fight hard to stamp out sexual assault, to rid our ranks of racists and extremists, and to create a climate where everyone fit and willing has the opportunity to serve this country with dignity.”

Hate and harassment will be defined to bounce out anyone who doesn’t adhere to the bottom line. State the truth- Rachel Levine is a male, and you’ll be kicked out after court martial for muttering hate speech and not referring to him in his preferred pronouns.

(Rachel Levine is male) = (2+2=5). Do you see four lights or five?

alohahola in reply to gospace. | January 22, 2021 at 2:01 am

“I will fight hard to stamp out”

Notice he says he “I will fight hard to stamp out” rather than “I will stamp out.”

That’s pretty much a non-statement. He knows he won’t really get anywhere.

He’s certainly not overpromising or being militant (pardon the pun). He at least has integrity in that respect.

          gospace,

You quoted a portion of his remarks. You failed to object to the content of the remarks. Presumably because the remarks themselves are not objectionable.

You are projecting your interpretation of the remarks. You are ascribing motives not present in the remarks.

Rachel Maddow does this every day on her program. She takes what someone says, injects her interpretation and her own personal prejudice into the words of that person. Then, having redefined and recast the original statement into some twisted parody of the original statement she decides that the person making the remarks is an ‘ist’ of some sort.

          Don’t be Rachel Maddow.

It should be interesting to see what will happen if they piss off enough young white men to the extent that they decide not to join a military that has no use for them other than as cannon fodder for foreign adventurism, and otherwise wishes they were dead when they return.

Not only that, but they should boycott law enforcement in “woke” cities as well. Let the urban hipsters and the ghetto militants fend for themselves.

Brennan is a cretin, and doesn’t speak unless he’s told to.

They’re underestimating our hold on the military: they are us and our families. They are now serving a fake president, and they are tools of oppression

Wait till that intercine war breaks out.

I think you are being extremely naive

Wait a minute. I thought our biggest enemies were the Russians, especially Putin!

Our enemies are as follows, and in this order:

1-our Junta government, including the Republicans – but we are most threatened by Nancy Pelosi: though situated below Xi Jiping, she really is running the show.
    2-Communist China
    3-Iran.

Rabid diversitists (not limited to racists), anti-nativists, anti-emigration reform, social justice anywhere is injustice everywhere warriors, sex (and gender?) chauvinist pigs, and abortionists are not a viable choice.

Re: disband its Chaplain corps

Isn’t Duffelblog a satire site? Would you quote The Onion or the Babylon Bee as fact?

So it sounds like he’s saying everyone in the military will be required to, essentially, take an oath of loyalty to the Left or be discharged without honor. Followed, no doubt, by intensive Critical Race Theory training for all who remain.

America is no longer the land of the free.

The Left is playing, almost step by step, from the Nazi’s 1930s playbook.

CommoChief in reply to JHogan. | January 21, 2021 at 9:53 pm

    JHogan,

No he isn’t. His statement is no different than one any other nominee would say for any administration in the past several decades. Don’t take the current climate and use that to read things he didn’t say into his answers.

The Army conducts lots of touchy feely anti this and that training. The purpose of the training is to make sure everyone in uniform understands that as long they are serving they must put aside their own individual notions and embrace the values of the organization.

You can be a racist, bigot, homophobic or whatever else. You just can’t act upon those, IMO misguided beliefs, nor express them. The organization is drawn Nationwide from every walk of life. Everyone who can meet the physical, emotional and psychological demands of service can and should be allowed. to serve. If they can’t hack it then no, send them home.

Chaplains are allowed to provide spiritual services to those who wish to receive them. Chaplains are not allowed to club people with religion or their own particular sect; a Catholic Chaplin isn’t imposing the ‘church of Rome’ any more than a Rabbi or Muslim or Baptist or Anglican or Methodist or Hindu or Buddhist Chaplin imposes their religion. The Chaplin is there to provide counseling support to every member of the unit.

If that sounds like you are giving up your individuality when you join the Army you are absolutely correct. That’s what every Army does. Break down the individual and rebuild them as a member of a diverse team. That diversity used to be mostly geographic since 1948 it has been racial diversity, since the late 1970s it has been gender diverse. Now we have allowed homosexual people to openly serve. All that is to the good, provided they meet the standard.

Reading the comments Chief, you’ve taken some heat. However as a veteran with 14 years…I’ll stand with and behind your reasonable, articulate position.

You’ll be lonely. And on the side of tyranny

So, because I don’t believe what you do because I think for myself, drawing conclusions from the evidence, facts and !y experience and education I am on the side of tyranny? Get bent.

Tyranny demands conformity of thought. Anyone who thinks ‘wrong think’ is violating the rules.

It appears that you Fine, are attempting to impose your interpretation and your beliefs on the rest of us. That is the behavior of a petty dictator.

        Will,

I appreciate that. It’s interesting how many people are posting disagreement and down voting. Clearly those doing so haven’t served in the last several decades or they would realize how much these remarks are the same as every EO or SHARP training session they sat through twice a year.

Maybe some people served pre Desert Shield/Storm when the EO was in it’s infancy and before Sharp training existed?

When you are reduced to defending your point of view with “get bent”, it’s obvious you ran out of intellectual gas.

Most of us seem to believe your point of view is rather naive and incredibly dated. The problem is, if you are wrong, we’re dead.

The US military is under the command of people who did not get elected, but rather, stole the election. That is called a coup, and the new ruling group is called a Junta.

The Junta now has useful idiot generals blabbering about a threat by US: when in fact, West Point was turning out avowed communists.

You are entitled to your point of view, but not juvenile ad hominem attacks. (“Get bent”? What are you, in junior high school?) Well, you are entitled to them, but they make you sound like a fool.

          Fine

Opinions vary. Read the statement of Austin.

Do that without projecting or ascribing any agenda to them.

Then lay out what is objectionable. Not one person has done that. Instead they chose to conflate what Austin said with what the whackadoodle Brennan said.

Alternatively they have ascribed motives and hidden meaning to his otherwise vanilla statement.

Since the man is now Sec Defense lets see what happens, then we.can pass judgement on what the man does and not on some interpretation of what he said.

What ever he was saying it wasn’t about the fighting posture of the Army.

CommoChief in reply to MSimon. | January 22, 2021 at 12:18 pm

Ok but if he is asked a question about ‘extremists’ in the military and what he is going to ‘do about it’ by some d/progressive with a flawed premise in their question then the man answers the question that was asked.

Just like when Rep Hank Johnson asked about the possibility of Guam ‘tipping over’ into the ocean if we redeployed Troops to Guam from Japan. Yes it’s an insane question but it has to be answered in a respectful and thoughtful manner. That’s what professionals do.

This guy is not a war general. He’s been a bureaucrat. The most ‘important’ operation handed to him was the withdraw from Iraq. In other words, when obama got the idea of sending our troops backwards in one of the largest retreats in US history, old Lloyd’s name came up.

Obama purged the military of the middle officer class, and infested the top of the military with corrupt hacks like Mattis. The patriot middle officer class is gone, but the corrupt hacks are still there. Biden’s handlers will continue decimation of our military.

When Trump came in, he saw obama had hallowed out the military to the point of crisis. He brilliantly built it back up, but at the price of having to agree to insane pork budget spending tied to military appropriation spending.

With PDJT out of office, biden’s handlers (the Communist Chinese – who were in fact also obama’s handlers, as well as McConnell’s) will decimate the military once again. With milquetoasts like Austin doing the left’s destruction of our war making ability, it will never return.

Our only hope for freedom and safety is secession.

General Lloyd Austin… House N for the Democratic Party plantation. Good luck with cleaning house of Republicans and Libertarians from the military.

America will be relying on the Chinese Army for defense when you’ve purged every conservative from the military.

All you will be able to recruit will be Cat 4 fat bodies, MS 13 gangsters, inner city high school dropouts, and the like.

Good luck with having any of those clowns operate high tech armor, fly fighters, and navigate the rocks and shoals. The army cannot be made up of strictly speed bumps for tanks.

Lord, I am glad I have retired. I couldn’t stay in the military with generals like this assclown.

“All you will be able to recruit will be Cat 4 fat bodies, MS 13 gangsters, inner city high school dropouts, and the like.”

Have you stopped to think this might be what they are wanting to do. Sounds like a population of perfect choices for that civilian corp Obama talked about in ’08 that will be just as funded and equipped as our military.

We will still need to be able to trust our military. Starting with the rank and file and then the officers.

There is always an internal enemy in the military to purge the only difference Democrats have with earlier evil historical organizations is the enemy they pretend exists are endless numbers of white supremacists.

The job of the Department of Defense is to keep America safe from our enemies. But we can’t do that if some of those enemies lie within our own ranks.
____________________________________________________________

and therein lies the justification for an ” official ” military purge/witch hunt for “racists, extremists, etc ”

yet who is going to determine what “extremist” means? or what “racist” means? and what sort of “evidence(if any)” will be required to sustain an allegation?

stevie wonder could see this guy is not a warrior or a leader

Interesting and seemingly correct comments from CommoChief (very similar to correcting comments of Milford of this blog on various comments) However what are your thoughts of the 12 of the National Guard people being “with drawn” from participation in Washington ceremonies. I personally found that utterly discussing but would like your comments based on your experience as to perhaps balance my attitude to this horrible attitude.

Dave Kabay

Only yes men need apply

When I saw the Dems go full military occupation of D.C. to protect the ruling class, which would have been a “war crime” it Trump had done the same thing to protect the mere “peasants” in Portland, Seattle, Kenosha, etc., I had to wonder.

Would the next step be a page out of Hitler’s playbook or Stalin’s? Germans, you see, took their oaths seriously. Hitler had everyone in the regular armed forces (Wehrmacht and Kriegsmarine; there was no Luftwaffe when Hitler became chancellor) take a personal loyalty oath to him.

Stalin on the other hand purged the Red Army of disloyal elements. I’m always amused when people try to argue that the USSR “really” won WWII and cite the huge numbers of casualties the Soviets suffered. Yes, when you execute or send all the competent officers to the Gulag and spend the first week drunk in your dacha drunk off your gourd as Stalin did (he was in a state of shock that Hitler betrayed him), that’s a leading indicator your country is in for a shellacking.

Stalin was drunk, and no one else dared to make any decisions lest they be seen as a rival to the throne and be next in line for a bullet to the back of the head in the dungeons of Lubyanka prison.

To paraphrase John Wayne. War is tough. It’s even tougher when you fight stupidly.

So, which would it be? Hitlerian personal loyalty oaths or Stalinist purge? We have our answer. The American Bolshevik party, a.k.a. the Democrats, are going back to their roots and going full metal Stalin (it’s in Russian but did you notice the pun?).

That was accomplished a century ago with the Pledge to the Flag. When I Pledge to the Constitution people look at me funny. They are not used to it.

While I have no real problem with Gen. Austin’s comments, at this time, one has to look at how the progressive liberals view the military.

They have always viewed the military as a bunch of stupid drones who will blindly follow orders and will take no action on their own. They view them as toy soldiers who are totally controlled by their commanders. And, many commanders view them thee same way. hence why they deployed several thousand NG troops to DC and then made them sleep on the floor, like dummies. It is why once the show was over, these troops were relegated to living in an unheated parking garage. They simply do not care, as they did not really need the military for anything, domestically.

Then along cam the pending insurrection from 75 MILLION Trump supporters. The Elite Establishment suddenly woke up to the fact that the only fore at their disposal was the US military. Though they control the command structure of that military, they do not totally control the rank and file. And, if enough members of the rank and file refuse to take action against their fellow citizens, the Elite can never complete their mission of subjugating thee population.

The US military HAS to remain a neutral force in our society. If it becomes partisan, then we are all in trouble.

“They view them as toy soldiers who are totally controlled by their commanders….”

No, they view them as junk to be stored in parking lots overnight.
I’m so glad that happened: perhaps it woke up enough people in the services to what the ruling Junta thinks of them – as compared to what we think of them.

Their guns will one day be ordered pointed in our direction. Will they do it?

    Arminius in reply to Mac45. | January 23, 2021 at 8:36 am

The left views everyone the same way they view members of the military. And when I say the left, I don’t merely mean the American left. There isn’t any difference between the American left and the left internationally.

There is no such thing as human nature. Everything is a “social construct.” In fact, there is no such thing as nature itself. Or objective truth. So they can simply abolish biology, as Biden just did with an executive order enforcing the useful transgender ideology on grammar school children (if you’re going to mold the empty vessels into the “new Soviet man” (I wonder if anyone else is old enough or has been paying sufficient attention to know what I mean) it’s important to start early when children are still (in the view of leftists) unformed clay.

It’s absurd that the same people who don’t believe that there is any such thing as objective truth (hence the Oprah-esque phrase, “This is my truth”) spent four years accusing DJT of being a liar. How can anyone be a liar when there is no truth anyway. All that matters is SOME PEOPLE’S “lived experience”

Please review the posts on this site r.e. the Gibson’s Bakery V. Oberlin College. Oberlin college president Carmen Twillie Ambar won’t shut up about her own “lived experience.” Which apparently trumps the fact that what kicked off the dispute is that some of her “BIPOC” students did steal from the store. Whoops; bad habit of mine. Forgot there are no such thing as facts. I guess that in a fit of “spontaneous racial justice” some of her “BIPOC” students acted on their own “lived experience” and engaged in an act of “self-actuated reparations” and liberated some wine from the White Supremacist and Age-ist Patriarchy (the concept of an arbitrary “drinking age” is inherently fascist, I gather, and only by preventing teen agers as young as 14 from drinking and voting can the White Supremacists maintain their “privilege”) that is Gibson’s Bakery.

In the immortal words of Amiri Baraka, New Jersey’s second and last official poet laureate, “You can’t steal nothin’ from the White man including his life ’cause he stole everything he got.”

Carmen Twillie Ambar’s BIPOC “lived experience” says that the Gibson’s are unquestionably guilty of the racist crime of believing young BIPOC people actually have to pay money to recover the goods white people stole from them in the first place. And on the identity politics totem pole they’ve built BIPOC holds the top spot, so shut up.

All we need to do is “cancel” American history/Western civilization (and they said it was only about Confederate generals and people were stupid enough to believe them!) and replace it with the 1619 project’s “narrative” (a euphemism for “lie;” even the author Nicole Hannah-Jones was forced to admit her 1619 project wasn’t history but so what) and with sufficient force (psychiatrists/psychologists/cult deprogrammers call it “coercive persuasion” but you may know it as brainwashing or mind control) they can remake anyone into anything.

And the military is the ideal laboratory for them to prove it.

Yes please CommoChief

Dave
