President Joe Biden intends to sign 17 executive actions, including 15 executive orders, which will reverse some of President Donald Trump’s policies and restore policies from President Barack Obama’s administration.

Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayer swore in Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris at 12 PM ET. Press Secretary Jen Psaki said Biden “wants to roll up his sleeves and get to work as quickly as possible.”

Biden wants to implement a 100-day mask and social distancing mandate, but this can only happen in federal buildings and on federal lands. It can only affect federal employees and contractors.

However, governors, mayors, and local politicians might follow suit.

Biden will make the U.S. a part of the World Health Organization again. Trump started the process of leaving WHO after the organization helped China hide facts and figures behind COVID-19.

The U.S. will rejoin the Paris Climate agreement. Biden will end the Keystone XL pipeline and stop any oil and gas exploration and “development at national wildlife monuments.”

Incoming Domestic Policy Advisor Susan Rice promised the administration will “advance racial equity through the federal government.” They also want to broaden “the federal protections against sex discrimination to include LGBTQ Americans” in the workplace.

They will also end Trump’s 1776 Commission, which came out a few days ago. The commission sought to put facts about America’s founding back in the education system.

The Census will once again count non-citizens. This move “would affect federal allocation of money and federal representation.”

Biden will end the border wall construction and “preserve and fortify” DACA.

Another executive order will end the so-called “Muslim ban.”

Then there’s affordable housing, which includes extending eviction and foreclosure moratoriums:

To do this, Biden will call on the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to re-implement and extend the already defunct moratorium until at least March 31. The new president will also call on the Departments of Agriculture, Housing and Urban Development, and Veterans Affairs to extend the foreclosure moratoriums for their federally backed mortgages. “These emergency measures are important,” Mr. Biden’s top economic adviser Brian Deese said on the call with reporters, “There are more than 11 million mortgages guaranteed by the VA, Department of Agriculture and HUD that would be extended.”

Biden wants to “cancel $10,000 of student loans,” but that needs to go through Congress. His Executive Order will continue to pause payments until September 30.

America: Rule of the government, by the government, for the government with 25,000 troops keeping the subjects at bay.

We are so screwed.

When Trump tried to cancel Obama’s executive orders, the federal courts said he did not have the authority to do that. Ridiculous, of course.

But the Republicans need to go to the same judges and block Biden’s actions.

Of course, the federal judges will find a way to support their hypocrisy at let Biden do whatever he wants – but at least it will be fun watching them try.

When Americans gas climbs up to 5-6 dollars a gallon again and the gas sector is out of business

The so called Biden supporters will be screaming for relief

Screw them all

Unfortunately we have to suffer with them

40% of New Mexico’s budget comes from oil and gas revenues. I can’t wait until it craters and the freaking idiot legislators and governor realize there is no possibility of making up that shortfall by raising taxes on businesses or residents. Instead of just being governed like a 3rd world country, the standard of living here is going to be the lowest in the nation.

“No Blood for Oil!” they will screech.

    Morons.

Well on the Bright Side – all of Biden’s Feminist Supporters can point to his Female Vice-President. And, when Joe abdicates and Kamala becomes President it will finally prove without the shadow of a doubt:

You can sleep your way to the top!

I’m not upset at Joe and his merry band of “greenies”.
I’m highly upset with the GOP.
Trump brought them the largest coalition of voters in 36 years and how did they react?

They backed him and he lost they then didn’t pretend otherwise. The stab in the back mythology has to end, like at once. The only legislation Trump ever asked for from them in the 2 years they held house and senate he got.

He stabbed us in the back with his myth making (see Legal Insurrections own coverage of the lawsuits).

where’s the 25 billion for the wall he asked for on day 1 and Ryan screwed him on that?

      buck61 in reply to Danny. | January 20, 2021 at 4:06 pm

What happened to the replacement health care bill that Ryan promised he had ready to go. No legislation on immigration, nothing on big tech even with vocal voices on both sides wanting it.

        Milhouse in reply to buck61. | January 20, 2021 at 4:40 pm

The House passed bills to repeal 0bamacare many times before Trump came in; then Trump came and said he didn’t want that, so that was the end of it.

Ditto with immigration; Trump said he supported DACA and wanted to see it in legislation.

Trump insisted on getting rid of the ObamaCare mandate, and he did.

All this talk of a Republican healthcare bill to replace ObamaCare is a particularly effective psy-op by the left, anyway. Republican health care reforms were reforms intended to open up the health insurance market (health savings accounts, buying health ins. across state lines, allowing catastrophic ins for the young and healthy, and etc.) to make it more competitive, more effective, and cheaper for consumers, not some comprehensive health care plan.

But Americans, including many right-leaning and even some conservatives, seemed to expect a replacement comprehensive healthcare plan from the government (this never made sense to me since the whole point was to get government out of healthcare as much as possible). Congressional Republicans didn’t help here by buying into the leftist misdirectional talking point about a comprehensive gov’t health care plan/replacement for ObamaCare. Republicans lost that in the language and on principle (i.e. by failing to pushback against the language and by failing to stand firm on small government principles).

The whole idea of “replacing” ObamaCare with some Republican version, in short, was a leftist trap, and Republicans (and many right-leaning voters) leapt right in like a bunch of utter unprincipled morons. Trump tried to avoid that trap, but he didn’t really articulate it very well and ended up just dropping the whole thing, as Milhouse accurately points out.

          buck61 in reply to Milhouse. | January 20, 2021 at 4:57 pm

The senate blocked the repeal and the repeal and replace bills. The bills couldn’t get the 60 needed votes to get it on the floor for debate.
          July 25,2017 on HR 1628.
The senate is so broken they can’t even get bills to floor for debate, then again some of the bills are sobad they don’t deserve formal debate.

Milhouse in reply to Milhouse. | January 20, 2021 at 5:51 pm

He wanted to get rid of the so-called “mandate” (or, as SCOTUS correctly characterized it, the additional income tax on those who made the perfectly legal choice of not being insured), so they did. But he explicitly said he was against repealing 0bamacare itself, so they didn’t.

      buck61 in reply to Danny. | January 20, 2021 at 4:10 pm

McCain, Flake and Romney approve of your message. During Trump’s time in office both Arizona ad Georgia went from two republican senators to two democratic senators primarily because McSally was a weak candidate as well as the two in Georgia. Question election process didn’t help either.

What do them blue pills taste like?

JHogan in reply to scooterjay. | January 20, 2021 at 3:19 pm

Other than the tax cut and judges the GOP did little or nothing to support Trump in the Legislative branch. Instead they undermined him.

Most saw nothing, heard nothing, and said nothing as the evidence of widespread vote fraud piled up. They’re pretending it doesn’t exist.

Now some are trying to convict Trump in a fake impeachment trial.

Lately the GOP has been sitting silently on their hands as the Dems declare all Trump voters domestic terrorists and plan to unleash the nation’s War on Terror on them.

Meanwhile they keep sending me fund raising emails and I keep telling them to stop. They’re ignoring my requests.

Until further notice the GOP is dead to me.

IIRC, federal judges tried to block several of Trump’s executive orders. Make use of all those federal judges that Trump appointed.Turnabout is fair play!

trump judges respect the rule of law. True of almost all conservative judges

    except perhaps roberts

      Milhouse in reply to Joe-dallas. | January 20, 2021 at 2:31 pm

Yes, but at least some of these actions are actually against the law. I hope we can count on the courts to stop those.

MattMusson in reply to Milhouse. | January 20, 2021 at 4:11 pm

Don’t hold your breath, Milhouse. The SCOTUS has proved they will do whatever the Swamp wants them to do. They don’t need to pack the court when they already have 5 yes men.

      gonzotx in reply to Joe-dallas. | January 20, 2021 at 2:51 pm

You mean like the 3 he got on the SC that wouldn’t lift a finger to help him get his case even heard?

      Those Trump judges?

Biden is the wrecking ball headed for the heart of America.

The swampitbureau has coronated ‘his fraudulency.’

Not my fraudulency. Not my values. #RESIST.

What is the Biden administration’s view on nuclear energy, in particular Gen IV? My expectation is that there will be some hopeful words and then nothing.

” advance racial equity “–ominous words indeed

Notice she used the ‘new’ word ‘equity’, not equality. So, even if your co-worker is worthless, they will still get the same pay raises (if not better) than you just because they are POC or LBGTQ

      vespidie in reply to 94Corvette. | January 20, 2021 at 3:55 pm

The “new” affirmative action is full bore out of control now. We thought is was bad in it’s present state, but we haven’t seen anything yet. What you are about to witness in the work place will be evidence of the “educated and worthless” managing those of us that know the job. A cluster-F*K in the making.

JusticeDelivered in reply to texansamurai. | January 20, 2021 at 3:22 pm

What she meant say is to promote them far into the realm of the Peter Principle. I think we have all already seen too much of that.

One of Rice’s jobs will be to crack down on videos by Trump supporters. Because they ‘might’ cause mostly peaceful protests an insurrection.

Clearly, he has not followed proper procedure in any of these first-day EO. I’m sure the same judges that took issue with the President reversing the unconstitutional EOs of BHO will now stop Biden in his tracks, right?

Milhouse in reply to felixrigidus. | January 20, 2021 at 2:42 pm

There is no “proper procedure” for executive orders. Rule-making, however, is subject the Administrative Procedures Act, so any rules that are made pursuant to these orders may be subject to challenge.

On immigration, though, it’s much easier to implement a permissive policy than a restrictive one, because if you improperly issue a visa nobody has standing to challenge it, while if you improperly deny one, even if the person denied has no standing himself since he is an alien who is outside the USA, someone in the USA is likely to.

felixrigidus in reply to Milhouse. | January 20, 2021 at 3:57 pm

      Thanks, Cap Obvious… 😉

ctgarric in reply to Milhouse. | January 20, 2021 at 4:48 pm

I’ve never understood this.. Please explain why I have standing to sue because someone else didn’t get a Visa. I can almost see if an employer could for an employee lost a Visa, but even then, wouldn’t the employer have to show that they are in some way harmed by the denial? If we were following a generally accepted definition of ‘standing’?

Milhouse in reply to ctgarric. | January 20, 2021 at 5:54 pm

You have standing if you are affected by the decision more than the general public is. So you can challenge it if the person is your relative, or your expected employee, or a student who would have contributed to the educational experience at your college, etc. But when someone is improperly given a visa you are only affected in the same way that everyone is, and the definition of standing is that you need more than that.

This should get interesting. I wait for the EOs and the challenges. Let’s see if our judges change their minds about previous presidential EOs. Trump found it difficult to undo them. I also remember Hawaii judges issuing injunctions on national policy.

Even if PDJT was reelected, the swamp was too entrenched: 2024 would be the start of the end.

Secession is our only way to freedom and safety.

I am not a Biden supporter but I do acknowledge this is a big day for Joe. After all these years in government he has reached the top. I really hope someone explains to him what is going on.

“Joe… look at all the pretty airplanes.” “See all the nice flags all lined up?” “Yes, the podium is where you stand and read the words the nice people talked to you about last night.” “Whee, isn’t this fun.” “Yes we can go get pizza afterwards if you remember what we told you to say when you get up to the talking place.”

caseoftheblues | January 20, 2021 at 2:34 pm

Not an original thought in his diseased brain. Sure why not put back in place every single failed policy of the worst administration ever. People are going to regret not fighting back harder on this election fraud.

I suspect Barack has more pull on what Slo Joe and Commie Harris are doing then they do.

Telling how Fox News used as much left-speak as they did in framing these executive orders.

Has he announced the farms will be collectivized yet?

I think that’s in Year 3 of the ‘Build Back Better/Green New Deal’ Great Reset Plan. Given the utter ineptitude of commies, though, that means it will be like Year 8ish, so we can right this ship before then.

There is no surprise at Slow Joe’s executive orders. This dumb SOB hasn’t had an original thought in decades. Ask Neal Kinnock.

JusticeDelivered in reply to Romey. | January 20, 2021 at 3:33 pm

I doubt that slow Joe ever had an original idea, even his get rich quick by going into politics was not original.

Were the thousands of troops there to protect China Joe from Trump supporters required to clap and cheer during the speech?

Asking for a friend.

Fake elections have consequences

If I had to bet on it I would say congress will happily vote that $10,000 debt gone

    94Corvette in reply to Skip. | January 20, 2021 at 8:35 pm

I read somewhere that many of the representatives will benefit from this – which means they should recluse themselves from the vote.

Slo Joe’s sole idea is whatever Trump did, undo it.
