Broward College Provides Resources for Profs to Incorporate Black Lives Matter Into the Classroom

“White students may resist confronting issues of race and racism”

Why bother paying for college if you can get the same level of education by watching MSNBC for a few hours a day?

Campus Reform reports:

Broward College lists resource for professors to ‘incorporate’ BLM into the classroom

A page on the Broward College library website states that it wants professors to incorporate the BLM movement into classes and to “address the social response to the notion of All Lives Matter.”

The library resource website notes that “Our goal is to ensure that our colleagues understand why #BlackLivesMatter (and address the social response to the notion of All Lives Matter), focus on social justice, and create an atmosphere of civil discussion on race.”

The first section is “Critical Thinking and BLM,” and lists various questions about how to implement critical thinking along with the BLM movement.

The second section is “Pedagogy and Black Lives Matter,” where it lists academic articles and articles from The Chronicle of Higher Education. The first PDF titled, “Teaching Race, Racism, and Racial Justice: Pedagogical Principles and Classroom Strategies for Course Instructors,” goes over various topics such as “White students may resist confronting issues of race and racism,” and, “Internalized oppression may complicate participation for students of color.”

The article states that “White students may resist confronting issues of race and racism,” in part, because they believe the “myths” that success comes from effort and labeling themselves as “innocent bystanders of racism.”

The second study listed, focused on the experiences of “White faculty who incorporate an anti-racist framework into their college classrooms.”

You can’t focus on social justice AND have a civil discussion on race, both. Nor can you have a civil discussion while telling students that the fact of being born white makes them somehow complicit in racism.

Calling that kind of abuse a civil discussion is at best, dishonest.

Imagine, if you will, a world where people are berated and slandered simply because they were born with a certain skin pigmentation. But don’t worry, it isn’t racism – because its victims are white, and we all know that everything really IS the whites’ fault.

“Imagine white people suck to death of being beaten over the head about everything?

“Imagine white people rescinding endowments and building funds to universities?”

The soul is the form of the body; immaterial, spiritual, weightless, odorless, colorless, indivisible, unique, preceding body in import; seat of will and wisdom, interpreter of the senses.

Vital to life and death, where God meets parents, nevertheless always individual, never a determinant of free will, good and evil, truth and falsehood..

The lens is ironically inverted toward the person who denies her personhood only to exclaim as a priority that which is the essence of false favor and disfavor color; always the easiest way to oblivion, because the eternal soul is reduced to the first thing one sees.
