Former Obama Speechwriter and Wife of Former Democrat Candidate Among Biden Town Hall Questioners

Former Obama Speechwriter and Wife of Former Democrat Candidate Among Biden Town Hall Questioners

Would be bad enough if this were an isolated event, but it happened at a recent NBC town hall event, too.

Biden and Trump held dueling town halls in which Trump was badgered by the moderator and Biden was treated with kid gloves by a former Clinton Staffer.

Better (or worse?) still, of those that asked Biden questions, one was a former Obama speechwriter, serving in the same administration as Biden, and the other was the wife of a former Pennsylvania Democrat candidate. But everything is fair and balanced, right?

From Fox News:

Two of the questioners at the ABC town hall featuring Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden on Thursday had ties to high-profile Democrats, including one questioner who previously worked as a speechwriter in the Obama administration.

One of the questioners at the ABC-hosted event was Nathan Osburn, a former speechwriter for the Obama White House. Osburn specifically worked for the Office of Public Affairs at the Commerce Department under the Obama-Biden administration and at the Small Business Administration.

Would be bad enough if this were an isolated event, but it happened at a recent NBC town hall event, too. See also:

“I will flat out just change the law,” Biden responded.

We don’t need no stinkin’ Congress!

I know I’ll get attacked for this just as I did for pointing out the objectively true fact that Republicans used the phrase “court packing” to mean filling existing vacancies on 2013, but Osburn was also a speechwriter in the Bush administration.

And he was never a speechwriter for the White House, either under Bush or Obama. That assertion is just plain false.

You get raked over the coals for trying to find equivalency where there is none. Your court-packing comment was idiotic. Since you’re clearly too lazy to do your own work, I’ll show you how you figure this one out, too. This is from the own guy’s bio:

“For five years, he served in the Obama Administration as senior speechwriter at the Small Business Administration and then director of speechwriting at the Department of Commerce. Early on, he was in executive communications at the American Medical Association and then U.C. Davis Health System.”
      https://ragantraining.com/speakers/nathan-osburn

“Nate Osburn has served as director of speechwriting at the U.S. Department of Commerce since 2012. Before that, he was the senior speechwriter at the U.S. Small Business Administration, starting in 2009. His experience includes speechwriting and executive communications for leaders at the U.C. Davis Health System, the American Medical Association and the Federal Aviation Administration.”
      https://ragantraining.com/speakers/nate-osburn

Hmm, how come he doesn’t bother to type “Bush administration” anywhere in there? Let’s check his LinkedIn page. Oh, OK. His first job out of college was as a speechwriter in the FAA from 2003-2004. Then he went to the American Medical Association (the, well-known, conservative hotbed, yes?) After the AMA, he joined Obama For America in 2008. Gee, I wonder why he didn’t hook up with McCain? Then he went to US Davis. Then back to Obama.

This guy is a leftist who worked at the cabinet level for Obama. Was he comparably as high up in the FAA when Bush was president? Nope. Not sure if you’ve noticed, but the cabinet is part of the Executive Branch, reporting to president. Saying he was a speechwriter for the Obama White House is no more in error than saying he was a speechwriter for the Obama administration. Was he a speechwriter in the Bush administration? He sure was. A low-level no-name who got out after a year, which should tell anyone with half a brain that he wasn’t committed to that cause. Someone who spends 5x as much time in the Obama administration than the Bush administration is bipartisan? Is that what you’re trying to imply? I don’t know. How stupid do you think we are?

You’re not objective, you’re not enterprising. You do, however, love to boast about your intellectual lethargy. Kudos.

LOL. This is comedy gold. The one time the lack of an edit button works in our favor.

In literal back-to-back posts 4 minutes apart, you FIRST CLAIM:

‘but Osburn was also a speechwriter in the Bush administration.’

      And then FOUR MINTUES LATER:

‘And he was never a speechwriter for the White House, either under Bush or Obama. That assertion is just plain false.’

So, were you lying then, or are you lying now?

Seriously step up your troll game, this is just amateur league.

You won’t get attacked, you’ll be asked to (1) source your allegation that he was a (implied) speechwriter for Bush and (2) explain why you think that changes the fact that his background was concealed during the town hall.

      txvet2 in reply to txvet2. | October 16, 2020 at 11:13 pm

Poorly expressed. For the Bush Administration.

      Awing1 in reply to txvet2. | October 16, 2020 at 11:50 pm

He wasn’t a speechwriter for Bush or Obama. He was a speechwriter for executive branch departments and agencies when Bush and Obama were president, but he never worked in the White House of either. He was a speechwriter at the Federal Aviation Administration from 2003 to 2004, when Bush was president.

They said he was a Democrat. They didn’t say he worked in government during the Obama Admin, but they also didn’t say he worked in government during the Bush Admin. How is either omission “concealing” his background?

“”Osburn was quoted in the Philadelphia Inquirer earlier this year as “a former Obama administration speechwriter” who had created a “Philly for Pete group” aimed at boosting former Democratic presidential primary candidate Pete Buttigieg””

That would be the DC Court of Appeals…right? Hum…unfi!led vacancies for years as not needed but an opportunity to tilt the court with three simultaneous selections. The situation is a little different but that was three and SCOTUS is one ….and functionally needed since it is the last step above DC Court. NOte…prior to Obama those vacancies were not filled when they could have been “packed” by Bush.

I respect Trump’s willingness to wade into a hostile forum.

Fox News Confirms Biden/China Payoff –

Rudy Giuliani Talks to Lou Dobbs….

https://theconservativetreehouse.com/2020/10/16/fox-news-confirms-biden-china-payoff-rudy-giuliani-talks-to-lou-dobbs/

“I will flat out just change the law,” Biden responded.

Every time he opens his mouth he gives us yet another clue that he really & truly has no idea how the federal government works.

Obama was pretty much in the dark too, but he was merely “present” through most of his career. Does Biden have any such excuse?

As things have turned out, it’s surprising that attorney general William “The Rat” Barr isn’t in the audience, throwing softballs at Biden.

You must have missed something. Don’t you realize it’s a true fact?

I’m surprised michelle obama wasn’t there – wearing a mustache disguise – and taking up three seats.
