Left Threatens (More) Rioting if Trump Tries to Replace RBG Before Election

“If they even TRY to replace RBG we burn the entire fu**ing thing down.”

America has been suffering silently for months while the radical left has been rampaging through American cities, smashing windows, destroying businesses, setting fires, and worse.

Now that Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg has passed away, people on the left are threatening a new wave of destruction if Trump and Republicans even try to replace her.

The rhetoric on Twitter was way over the top. Here are a few choice examples I decided to screen-cap in case they mysteriously disappear.

Note how many of these comments are from verified, blue check-mark, accounts.

Former CNN host Reza Aslan.

Playwright Beau Willimon.

Washington Post writer Laura Bassett.

Progressive activist Charlotte Clymer organized a march to Mitch McConnell’s house, only to find he wasn’t home.

University of Waterloo professor Emmett MacFarlane.

Former Democrat candidate for the House in Tennessee, Hana Ali.

And that’s just a sample.

Some people have noted that the country has grown weary of riots and protests. Even Nancy Pelosi took to the floor of the House this week to condemn lawless rioting.

Do these leftists really think this behavior is going to help their cause in November?

I don’t think the process of manufacturing votes is negatively impacted by rioiting.

Well sounds like this is going to be interesting. Obviously “We are going to Burn it Down” sounds like words of comprise.

You know Trump was telegraphing this will his SCOTUS Picks.

I might be mistaken, but wasn’t this list supposed to be in addition to the remainder of his original list of potential nominees to the SCOTUS and Appellate Courts, rather than a complete replacement? I’d be surprised that Amy Coney Barrett was dropped from his list for the SCOTUS, unless she requested it of course.

CommoChief in reply to Edward. | September 19, 2020 at 11:27 am

      Edward,

Correct. This list supplements the original list. IMO it is a mistake to have omitted Judge Neomi Rao, DC CT of Appeals.

The left cut the branch off and RBG dies. Now its obvious this election will end up before the 4-4 SCOTUS. How are they going to rig that?

Between a rock and a hard place?
From the perspective of the Obama/Biden/Hillary/Schumer crowd:

If Ruth is replaced before the election, Trump & Co. will be accused of creating a Constitutional Crisis.

IF there is NO genuine effort to replace Ruth ASAP, Trump & Co. will be accused of creating a Constitutional Crisis – particularly as the COVID-Crazy Dems have promised to disrupt the normal protocols of the election, and a 4-4 court is toxic.

Wake-up, America . . .

If the Republicans fail to find their gonads and fail to confirm any nominee the President sends to the Senate, they can kiss the Republican Party goodbye for a few decades.

MarkSmith in reply to DuxRedux. | September 19, 2020 at 10:33 am

I hate to say it, but there already is a Constitutional Crisis. Obama started it with Spygate in 2012. I Question if it started a lot earlier like with McStain.

Trump loses if he does not put forward a candidate now.

“Remember, Fear is the weapon of the Liberal/Commies.”

Thanks for that reminder, Mark. Solzhenitsyn wrote about this in the Gulag– why they put criminals in with political prisoners, everything they did was to instill fear.

They will burn down Democrat run cities and hurt the people who voted for Democrats. Is this the best infantile reaction they can come up with?

Make the appointment before they can get their weapons restocked.

So the Party who claims to have nothing to do with the riots is threatening to Burn the Country Down.

Not surprising that Ginsburg – who was a horrible, evil person – is inspiring other horrible, evil people to commit even more murder and mayhem

How ironic that the left fears living under judicial tyranny.

It’s well past time to establish a leftist emigration program: free moving expenses to any socialist paradise in the world in exchange for no right of return.

So Aslan believes a nominated and confirmed new Associate Justice will be over his dead body. I’m sure there are people in the country who would be ready and willing to accommodate his stated desire.

Democrats have already normalized fascism, street violence and sedition. What’s wrong with a little insurrection for seasoning? It’s who they are. All it took was an R to take the fight to them and bang! The veneer fell right off.

By the way, it’s not “the left” threatening riots. Don’t give them the benefit of separation. The are Democrats plain and simple, just some more excitable than others. Make the Dems own them.

My Vote is for Amy Coney Barrett. Best Troll bait out there. She is young and solid.

“If they even TRY to replace RBG we burn the entire fu**ing thing down.”

These aren’t threats, these are opportunities. We can rebuild the entire fu**ing thing, but this time around without Democrats. As should have been done in 1865,

Over our dead bodies. Literally.

These are all very tempting offers. I’d like to see the (generally useless) Republicans redeem themselves and take these up.

One thing, though, this silliness does accomplish; it clarifies that our violent Left has no use whatever for Constitutional government, preferring government by the mob. More specifically, their mob.

In 1865, the wrong side won.

Don’t mistake modern dems for our forebearers. They were principled, erudite, and courageous.

Long live the right to Self-Determination and Revolution.

I suppose one could say that unlike the Nazis and the Communists, the pro-slavery south was content to practice their lack of humanity within their borders rather than trying to take over the world. However, that doesn’t count as a ringing endorsement of character.

…and the media will deploy their “…two groups clashing..” ploy instead of pointing out that the left is attacking the right.

Speaking of which, Alan Dershowitz is suing CNN ($300,000,000)
for defamation after the network omitted part of a statement he he made reversing his meaning

The karmic irony of Her Choice, not her choice. So, now what, the protestors’ choice of Planned President? #HateLovesAbortion

Burn it all down? What the hell have you been doing since Memorial Day?

The remainder of the Supreme Court will likely end Obamacare. My concern is that the Republicans have not done the work necessary to provide for a better solution. It has to start with addressing the insane cost of health care, and breaking the connection between employment and health insurance.

I hope that a decisive Democrat loss in November will force them to negotiate with the Republicans in good faith. Stop laughing – it’s not funny.

The most encouraging hope is the fact that Trump excels at doing what everyone else considers impossible.

The remainder of the Supreme Court will likely end Obamacare. My concern is that the Republicans have not done the work necessary to provide for a better solution. It has to start with addressing the insane cost of health care, and breaking the connection between employment and health insurance.

The federal government has no business mucking around in health care or health insurance other than making regular interstate commerce of such. That is it. There is nothing else that falls under the purview of the federal government. Every step that the federal government makes to manage health care and health insurance just makes things worse – aside from being totally un-Constitutional.

“Trump excels at doing what everyone else considers impossible…”

It is impossible if you are beholden to the swamp. Trump is not.

He is the ONLY president in modern history beholden to NO ONE but the American people.

What an historic figure, and what a great American.

The most troubling aspect of this for me:

The GOP-appointed judges turn into leftish squishes.

The vetting needs to be far, far improved.

We will have the riots, the burnings, the hysteria – – – and the left will still get a vote.

The Federalist Society is the best we have? Really?

Gorsuch and Kavanaugh have been only mildly helpful, and frequently grossly unhelpful. We all know about Roberts. The right doesn’t take these nominations seriously enough.

The GOP is a rat-infested swamp, beholden to everyone but the Americans who vote for them.

Don’t EVER trust them, any more than you’d trust the democrat party.

Dude, this is just crazy right now. No one is going to stay home or vote for the socialists, so what is your point? Heck, even you are going to drag your butt out to vote, and I’d bet dollars to donuts you aren’t voting for a down ticket socialist Democrat nor the Harris-Biden ticket.

Sure the GOP has problems, but you gain exactly what with this ongoing crazy? Is Trump going to drain the swamp or not? After all, the REAL swamp is not elected RINOS in Congress but the unelected lifer bureaucrats who imagine they create and enforce U.S. policy.

We don’t have a lot of room here, Fine, and few are willing to engage in a civil war over squishy, utter crap Repubs. The worst are gone (Flake, et al.), so get over it and grind a new organ, please. You are stuck in a time that no longer exists, chirping crap that no longer applies (if it ever did). It’s time to reassess the terrain and be way smarter.

Love you Fuzzy but you are so wrong. These Republicans never fail to fail. It is never EVER the right time to do the right thing and we have every reason to rubbing their noses in it right now. This now THE MOMENT when these polymorphic swamp rats have to suck it up and GET IT DONE!

They have proven to us for a long time that being nice to them is a big mistake. The Dems always get more than they ask for by beating these guys into a pulp. So if we expect to get what we want, we have to beat them into worse pulp. And then after this is done, no relenting. We keep beating on them until we find suitable, more reliable replacements. There is no forgiving these rats. Never! They are every bit as responsible as the Dems (if not more so) the mess we are in.

So let’s get the SCOTUS thing done, get past the elections and clear the decks of these scumbags.

So one side, the d and it’s allies, seek to advance their cause through extortion. The other side, r and it’s allies, wish to follow the constitution.

This is where we have arrived as a nation.

Mob rule by anarchist or the rule of law.

Kudos to the d and MSM for continuing to highlight the vast difference between our electoral choices on this point.

We really are two different people. The sooner we recognize that the better.

The sad thing is that people on the other side are seriously fact-deficient. How they so willfully remain so highlights their narcissism and cultism.

We can NEVER allow these types such power again. It’s suicide to do so.

DaveGinOly in reply to CommoChief. | September 19, 2020 at 2:40 pm

Yesterday, in a comment I posted immediately after the announcement that RGB had died, I predicted that the Dems would overplay their hand to their own detriment. I see they have already begun with threats of violence, arson, and riot. The next step is, predictably, actual violence, arson, and riots, because that played so well for the Dems in recent weeks.

They learned nothing by the loss of support due to the riots, and just days after the riots settled down, they’re getting ready to do it all over again.

Will they have smarts enough to contain the violence until after the election? I don’t think so. We might as well be dealing with children, for all the self-restraint and ability to delay gratification that they have.

“Never interrupt your enemy when he is making a mistake.”
    Napoleon Bonaparte

I think the left made a big mistake as soon as Trump was elected, when they decided to engage in a “resistance,” to portray him as being somehow illegitimate, and demanding that he not be “normalized” in any way. The problem with that approach is that, if it doesn’t work to bring him down (and it HASN’T worked, considering everything he’s been able to accomplish in less than four years), then you’ve painted yourself into a corner rhetorically. You can’t suddenly change your tune and start working cooperatively or competing with him on normal political terms. Once you’ve labeled him as Hitler or Satan, there’s really no going back.

This is the problem the Dems are basically in right now. They’ve basically given a green light to violence in the streets as a means of advancing their political agenda. IOW, they’ve all but abandoned the idea that the way to accomplish political aims in this country is through civil persuasion and voting. THis doesn’t SEEM to be working; it seems to be pissing off a lot more people than it’s winning over. But once you’ve taken the position that violence and intimidation are the appropriate tools for what you’re trying to accomplish, it’s hard to go back.

Now the left is calling for more riot if Trump merely nominates a successor justice. If that’s the call that’s being put out, I guess it means they’re NOT going to be expending their energies getting volunteers to ring doorbells, or make phone calls, or drive people to the polls on Election Day. The energy is going to go into riots, so they end up abandoning the traditional/civil political process to their opponents.

once you’ve taken the position that violence and intimidation are the appropriate tools for what you’re trying to accomplish, it’s hard to go back.

Especially when the other side isn’t intimidated and refuses to give in to your demands. You’ll have gained nothing and have nothing left to negotiate with, except threats of continued violence.

Which is where the Dems find themselves today.

I would say that Democrats are insurrectionists or traitors, but they are far worse. They are demented nihilists. They don’t really care about taking over the country. All they care about is destroying the country. You can’t get any lower form of humanity than that. They are the bottom, the ultimate error in the “trial and error” of evolution.

Come the end of the month report on the count of legally purchased firearms, we’ll see another large spike in “legal gun” purchases as it has happened since the terrorist acts in American cities have been allowed to happen. For every time the thugs on the left declare a “Pillage and Plunder Revolution” and wherein the democrats remain silent, I see it as another vote for PDJT. Those buyers are voters who do not show up on any MSM poll but are committed to keep America out of the hands of those who want to throw out their Constitutional rights to protect their property or with their vote.

Hey,, right on, Voice. Did you happen to read Salina Vito’s book on the 2016 election? One chunk of Dem voters for Trump was *new gun owners”, especially wymyn new gun owners, who decided they needed to take their safety and their family’s into their own hands.

Aren’t there laws against fomenting a riot?

The people quoted in this article aren’t merely saying that some people will be angry enough to riot if Trump and McConnell push through a nominee, they’re saying people *should* riot. Not one of them is suggesting that a riot would be an irresponsible, immoral thing to do.

    Looks like fomenting to me.

Don’t expect any help from Barr

DaveGinOly in reply to CorkyAgain. | September 19, 2020 at 2:47 pm

Let me play Milhouse for a moment, as he has addressed this question in the past.

There is no prosecutable incitement here. There is no imminence (the speakers aren’t standing in front of a crowd of people who are ready to riot now), and they’re not speaking directly to particular people who are likely to riot (now), they are speaking to a general audience. The First Amendment allows inflammatory speech (esp. inflammatory political speech) that doesn’t constitute an immediate threat of actual violence (see above).

There may be more factors, but that’s the drift.

CommoChief in reply to DaveGinOly. | September 19, 2020 at 7:33 pm

        Dave,

Very true. Though if communication was made to specific actors relating to organization/planning of engaging in riots in a particular place….

‘Hey comrades meet at the east precinct in City X to fight the man. PD is hostile so bring your riot gear.’

        Or

‘PD is using excessive force at x location to disburse. Come now to help push back the PD’.

In context example one shows prior intent via asking to bring gear and a specific location. Win a conviction? Maybe not but it is enough to round up all the recipients and question them.

In example two also specific location, specific circumstances and intent to resist lawful order to disburse. Win conviction and sweat all the recipients.

Look this data IS accessible, if the Feds want to use it. Personally I don’t have an issue with interception and then matching identity to solve a crime.

even if 4 R-Senators come out to say: “We ain’t gonna confirm before election.”

Trump should still nominate someone to replace RBG – preferably a woman judge already on a district court – and McConnell should go through the hearings just so the collective Left will lose their shit just as they did with Kavanaugh

them and the media beclowning themselves again a month before the election will only hurt their image going forth

the Republicans don’t really need to have the vote

just have the nomination and hearings be a rallying point to motivate the republican and conservative base to vote a straight R-ballot

anymore of the Dems going apeshit is gonna cost them more of the middle

and for the whole world to see – again

The Communist/Socialist/ Anarchist bloc was going to continue rioting anyway. So, all the rest of the nation has to do is force government to deal with the uprising. If government fails to execute its duty to protect all of its citizens, then the citizens will do it for the government. Then the citizenry will turn around and install a government which meets the needs of the majority.

So I’m going to assume that the FBI is collecting a little list of these verified, blue-check twitter account users that post blatant threats against the country, the President, and the Congress. And that perhaps a visit from the FBI would be in order to put the fear of God into them. Or is it just going to be business as usual with the DOJ/FBI and Barr won’t do a thing.

I’m trying to find a downside here. Trump gets another SCOTUS nominee that actually embraces the Constitution and Democrats destroy largely urban, Democrat controlled communities. Hell I’d let’em burn, loot, mangle whatever they like in their own communities. Course then I’d say “no” to any economic recovery plan. Remember “elections have consequences”.

I’ll stop short of actually giving them matches and gasoline.

    “Remember “elections have consequences”.”

The infamous Obama quote along with “I won” from 2009 which was the mantra of the Democrat Party for 8 years, right up to the night of DJT’s election win. I believe the ole saying is true, “What goes around, comes around” and in this case, doubled down on. Yet the left still cannot see the hypocrisy on what they project on others, they see not of themselves.

You mean they promise to create more Trump voters?

“Riot … burn it all down” … not the brightest tactical thinkers, are they?

Closely packed mobs, advancing down city streets, limited room to move – easily boxed in with a few big guns and snipers with night vision … just guessing, but likely most armed forces retired are righties – likewise civilian gun owners – stockpiling after every Dem threat to “ban assault rifles/weapons” and “weapons of war” …

Perhaps the rioters will start carrying signs that say “gun free zone”?

How quickly will they realize the only advantage they ever had is the restraint of the law-abiding right?

Rank and file from E1 to 05 is likely 70/30 Trump/Biden. Full Bird 06 and up? Sadly very progressive in orientation.

I thought the democrats said they’re not behind the riots. I guess that was a lie… just like everything else that comes out of their mouths.

My previous opinion was that the diplomatic thing to do was wait until November 15th or so to announce the replacement. If they’re promising riots, do it now.

They have already promised riots if the outcome of the election is anything but Biden. I do not see the riots as much of a threat anymore. It is only a threat if it is not something you are already doing.

DaveGinOly in reply to beagleEar. | September 19, 2020 at 3:00 pm

In the famous words of Hillary Clinton, “What difference does it make now?”

In any scenario in which Trump wins the election, Trump will (or will have already) seated a justice.

In any scenario in which Biden wins, the Dems will either seat a justice (if Trump didn’t), or (if Trump did seat a justice) change the rules and pack the court.

How this plays out is academic. There are only a small set of scenarios, and the only ones the result in gain for the Dems are those in which Biden wins. So the only thing that will effect the final outcome is the election. Trump wins, he will get a nominee into that seat. If Biden wins, he will either fill that seat, or, if Trump has already filled it, the Dems (should they control enough of both the House and the Senate) will increase the number of justices and then appoint to fill the new positions.

All the rest is just Sturm und Drang, which is more likely to play against the Dems in the election. Let them rant, let them riot and burn. We’ve endured months of it already. We can take a few more weeks. If the election isn’t already lost for them (and I think it is), a little more violence may very well turn the tide.

I heard the SCOTUS term starts in two weeks.

    Gator,

    Two small quibbles:
    1. Might not be Judge Barrett, probably will but…
    2. End of Oct for swearing in? Nope too long.
    A. Funeral is likely to be nlt Monday.
    B. Conduct a 96 hour flags at half staff Sat – Tue.
    C. Tuesday conduct a ‘state mourning’ event in DC.
    D. Wed – Fri = Judiciary Committee hearings and vote
    E. Monday – Saturday floor debate/motions, final vote
    D. Swear in on 5 October.

    Why move that quickly?

First simple politics. Senate in DC means no in person campaign for the 1/3 of Senate up for election.

Second, assuming the nomination goes to Judge Barrett or another recently confirmed Appellate Judge, what real substance is being offered or debated now that wasn’t already hashed out in the previous nomination process?

Finally a speedy process will give the d something else to cry about. I am in favor of d, progressive, leftist tears flowing.

I live in North Texas. Why, oh why, isn’t Reza Aslan et al rioting within rifle range of my place? Why do they all have to be in Portland, Seattle, SF, and NYC?

Yes, that’s a rhetorical question.

You know, the Military was asking Trump if they should consider using their microwave heat guns to disperse the Rioters at the White house.
I think they would be at least as effective as the water cannons.
Point for the water cannons is they can put out fires.
But these ” Brave Souls ” are threatening right out in the light of day, might as well just lock them up for a while.

On a more serious note, any political system can be stressed to the point where people no longer believe that the rules will be followed or the system will protect them as promised. At that point, those who have lost that belief will retaliate in the same or more violent manner that was used to attack them.

Using the same words that my screen name’s master used in a final diplomatic note before opening hostilities:

Post-TBI, hitting my head again is a bit more risky for me than most, the odds of hitting should I fall are higher, and I’m more likely to fall from interference. So, I’m walking with a stick that happens to look like a shelliegh.

Even garbed-up “protesters” seem more inclined to allow me WASP-y amounts of personal space when I have a stick in my hand. It seems they’ll brain u for the cameras if they’re geared up in a group on mission, but in daylight, even one semi-steady old guy with a stick is too much.

They do seem to lack the courage of their convictions.

Well, our Movement friends seem to have decided that political outcomes are determined by force in the US.

This is not surprising as they’re mostly Maoists, though of the cannon-fodder caste. Even so I don’t think they’ve thought this through.

– Political power comes from the barrel of a gun — who has all the guns?

– The revolutionary cadres who won in China were peasants — who are the peasants, I mean deplorables, in the US?

They really should get out more.

In this past couple weeks Natl guard defied the CA fire authoritah to go get people the Overlords were happy to abandon. Then, they went back … until they got them all. Who’s side are they on, I wonder? Who’s gonna stand with them in an instant, I wonder? And who just doesn’t matter to any of those folks?

This week an abandoned town in Oregon rallied n saved itself. You wanna take on people willing and able to self-organize to stop a wild fire in somenoc the mostnremote n rugged terrain in tbe U S?

The Militia is way more than just guns: it’s citizens self-organizing to take care of a common problem better dealt with together. “Govt” is just the low-grade semi-permanent stuff of this kind. When they screw up too badly, citizens cover the hard stuff they can’t, then go looking for better staff.

The riots are destroying stuff directly. The lockdowns are destroying lives, livelihoods, n futures. The Kung-Flu response is getting people killed directly, and I don’t mean premature opening. Bad mandates, bad policies, n bad priorities.

When there’s hope that the yolk might be lifted a little, peacefully through normal politics, people forebear. Now it’s let us keep breaking things by law, or we’ll keep breaking things anyway. Not much relief there.

Really, “girls rule”-person quoted above doesn’t get it. We’re not locked in here with them; they’re locked in here with us. It’s they who ain’t seen nothin yet.

Thanks for this post. A millionaire upvotes.

A timely reminder of what Americans actually are. We are the descendants of the men who crossed the Delaware on Christmas Eve to beat the hell out of a bunch of drunken “British” (Kraut) soldiers. Who won a decisive Rev War battle because a teenage boy high up in a tree dared to kill a British officer (verboten then) and that routed the Brits. Who invented the “TinCan Carriers” that won the Battle of the North Sea and turned WWII from defeat to victory in 1943. Who fought for bloody *inches* in Tarawa.

    Come and take it!

“Do these leftists really think this behavior is going to help their cause in November?”

For all the hate America Left; they don’t care!
