Democrat Insider Lanny Davis: Blue States are “leaving. We intend to form our own country…”

“We get 85 percent of America’s venture capital and entrepreneurs. You get Mississippi.”

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tDfrZMGwQ-A

Long-time Clinton and Democrat insider Lanny Davis is not known for his circumspection; indeed, he’s a political bomb-thrower of the first order.

Last month, he ranted and raved about President Trump refusing to leave the White House and being “dragged out,” and this month, he’s warning red states that Democrats are packing up their toys, leaving the union, and taking all the blue states with them.  So there!

Here he is being particularly obnoxious.

He goes on. And on. And on. But you get the idea.

He’s misreading the opposition mightily if he thinks secession threats will change a single mind. This is just typical foot-stomping petulant blather from the foot-stomping petulant left.

One beautiful thing about America, is it’s built on principles more than most countries. Thus, when a tyrant like Lincoln comes along and destroys half the country with his dictatorship, we can still return to the principles that he made his personal doormat.

Secession and revolution are rights. Ask Geo. Washington, Thom. Jefferson, et al.

Now, whether right now secession is a good idea, is another question. I agree with Ace of Spades: time for a divorce from the left!!! Let them secede, in whole states, or in parts, and let us enter into a treaty with them for the United States bases and ports, as the South tried to do with Lincoln, when he snubbed them and refused to answer, and instead, purposefully provoked S.C. to shoot at Ft. Sumter.

So, it’s not really “Blue” states versus “Red” states. It’s about mega cities against rural areas. Good luck eating. If desired, the RED COUNTIES can just jack up food prices and suck all your money away. But, then, there’s always Soylent Green the Blue cities can fall back on.

And that Little Girl is Me!!! – Kamala Harris

If the “new” blue country doesn’t burn its own cities down, they will abort their own replacements.

I’m not inclined to cede them a damned thing. If they don’t like it here, they can leave.

Dear Lanny, good riddance and take the NeverTrumpers with you.

If they are can we just forfeit instead? With minor variations based on county preferences we could simply let them go away.

He sounds confident in a Trump win.

He might be surprised at the level of resistance within the ‘blue’ states to secession.

I wonder what would have happened if the North had succeeded from the Union. What would the South have done? Most probably nothing.

I think the problem with the Blue states succeeding would not be with the Red states at all, but with the Red interiors within the Blue states that would object to that succession. So good luck with that internal rebellion and insurgency against your exploitive dictatorship.

Never thought I would see the day when the Communists would brag about how many billionaire plutocrats they have on their side and how much they despise the working class, yet here we are.

You can have Seattle and Portland. The rest of Washington and Oregon are solid red. We’ll take the eastern half of California.

I’m very much supportive of my home state of Wa splitting into two states. I’m not alone in that desire either. We’ll peel off a an electoral college vote or two, take our own house reps and get a couple Senators to boot.

CorkyAgain in reply to Andy. | September 27, 2020 at 9:38 pm

I live in WA too and agree that eastern WA wouldn’t go along with his plan to secede from the USA.

In fact, most blue states are only blue because they are dominated by a big metropolis or two. Lanny can have all of those cities and the problems that come with them.

I sure Pres. Trump will negotiate a great deal for us when the politicians running those cities discover how much they depend on non-urban people for things like food, water, electricity, oil, …

DaveGinOly in reply to CorkyAgain. | September 28, 2020 at 1:16 pm

I was going to mention the same thing. Any attempt to break out of the Union, or to add new states to it (esp. by ceding a portion of an existing state, as the surrender of Congress’ exclusive legislative jurisdiction over D.C. would first have to retrocede the territory to Maryland, as was land retroceded to Virginia, before MD could authorize the creation of a new state from the parcel) would result in a demand for statehood from some of the areas you mentioned.

The only places in the country that are actually “blue” are the metro areas. Let them shut off access to the ports. We’ll see how long they can go without food. (Telling that it’s not enough for Davis to postulate the secession of blue states, but he must also envision the punishment of the red areas.)

RedSoloCup in reply to CorkyAgain. | September 29, 2020 at 1:04 am

Illinois is only “blue” due to the cesspools that are Chiraq and East Saint Louis. The rest of Illinois is strictly red.

I say we split it like the red/blue county map. Then see how the blue areas do without food and fuel.

Lanny, any land you can steal from Venezuela you can keep. No land in the USA will ceded to your autocracy.

Haha…they’re “anti-war”, so even if they try to take all this stuff we can just invade them and take it all back.

I forgot: let’s not forget Hillary’s “We came, We saw, Khadaffi died.”

Which then opened the spigots for migration into Europe.

If they weren’t incompetent, the left would have no virtues whatsoever.

Not to mention turning Libya into a turd world toilet (or more so than it already was, anyway) where they have active slave markets operating openly, just so Italy could raid Qaddafi’s bank accounts to shore up its economy.

And what did the US get for it? Diddly squat other than further draining our stocks of “smart” munitions because a supposedly first world continent that was a whole lot closer to the AO couldn’t hack it with their own stores.

They should start with just the richest state in the nation Leftifornia and see how that goes for 10 years then decide if Nicaragua style is the way to go.

Actually, Nicaragua is a good example of Marxist/Socialist disaster. Nicaragua’s insurrection against Somoza was small potatoes until the latter half of 1978. Note that the insurrection had little impact on agricultural production from 1977-79.The Sandinistas took power on July 19,1979.

In 1980, Net Per Capita Agriculture (PIN) production declined 39.4% from 1979. The decline in 1980 could not be blamed on the insurrection, as Somoza fled the country in July, 1979. It took the peacetime policies of the Sandinistas, with “land reform” and price controls among their policies, to decimate agriculture production in Nicaragua.

Nicaragua: Net Per Capita Agriculture (PIN) production. 1979=100
      1977 95.7
      1978 99.9
      1979 100.0
      1980 60.6
      1981 64.9

The red county/blue county works in CA too. Lanny’s kooks will be lording over islands of welfare cities building walls to keep their proles from escaping. We’ll be airlifting food and cigarettes to them.

Morning Sunshine | September 27, 2020 at 8:03 pm

silly – the United States can produce everything we NEED – food, fuel, shelter. And a good chunk of that comes from “flyover” country. The only reason the people there do not harvest those resources and sell them is that the know-better bureaucrats won’t let them.

Keep your multi billionaire venture capitalists – all the money in the world won’t do you any good without food. And California can’t keep you in food since that interferes with some fish.

And speaking of fish – they need water, and so does California. If they secede, Colorado, Utah and Nevada will quit sending you our water; we are itching to stop anyway.

The Drill SGT in reply to Morning Sunshine. | September 27, 2020 at 8:09 pm

and quit selling you oil, ng and power.

The part about “venture capitalists” in Davis’ screed caught my attention. Imagine a “progressive” political party celebrating the large number of ultra-rich One Percenters they have!

Loud public opposition to interracial adoption, calls for a military coup, and now threatening civil war while boasting about strong support from billionaires. Safe to say this has not been a good week for the Communist Party!

California’s Achilles Heel is electricity, as it currently imports about a quarter of its electrical demand.

henrybowman in reply to Morning Sunshine. | September 27, 2020 at 9:35 pm

“good luck with getting goods in or out of the country affordably.”

Good luck getting goods BETWEEN your “country” affordably. We get the interstate highway system — you ge,t what, the Panama Canal and the Northwest Passage?

Lanny needed a little attention and he won’t get to be on tv unless he spews shit.

Enjoy. Know where your food comes from? Red states. Know where your electricity comes from when the wind isn’t blowing? Red states.

Two weeks later when you’re starving in the dark, we’ll talk.

At the county level Red America is contiguous from coast to coast with the exception of 10-15 red counties trapped in blue states.

Rebel Blue land? pockets of starving cities…

I suspect that those Red counties produce 90% of the food, 95% of the oil and NG, 90% of the power, and 80% of the industry.

All of the Army less one base in Hawaii and one in Washington. Half of the Navy, the bulk of the nuclear forces, and a majority of the USAF are in Red states.

good luck feeding yourselves or keeping the lights on, or heating your homes…

Red states won’t have Hollywood, or Netflix, or any of those silicon Valley venture guys, but it will have a contiguous internet.

The customs charges at the blue borders may be a bitch.

They promised to leave the country if Trump was elected and Yet they are still here.

Enjoy that venture capital until you start taxing it to pay for those programs. The “rich” know this and will want to stay in the US.

Since all the environmentalist are going with you they will insist on green energy. Brownouts and blackouts will become the norm. Park your car and buy a bike because you won’t have any gas or it will be too expensive.

When you do leave don’t let the door hit you in the ass.

“”we’re going to want all our citizens back from Iraq at once.””

You can have all of your citizens back from Texas right now.

I know this observation has been made many times before, but for a bunch of people who pretend to be so absolutely certain of their ability to steal this election, they sure are acting like they’ve already lost.

Lots of CA is federal land, including everything around Lake Tahoe.

Every blue state has red enclaves. Do they get to secede too?

The funny thing about the idiocy that comes out of this fool’s mouth is they won’t get 85% of the venture capital or entrepreneurs.

It’s fleeing as fast as it can to red states.

JusticeDelivered | September 27, 2020 at 8:57 pm

It sounds to me like Lanny Davis’s new country will have to figure out how to digest silicon chips.

Savannah GA just hosted the largest container ship to visit any port on the E coast. There’s more dredging planned. At least as far as shipping goes, we should be fine.

Lanny should also consider the county-by county breakdown in some of those states he listed. The cities may be blue, but it’s unlikely the less urban areas will want to go with them.

Close The Fed in reply to f2000. | September 27, 2020 at 9:48 pm

Yes, and the dredging in Savannah has been snail-slow due to so many regulations. We take decades to dredge 6 feet, while China builds islands and buildings in months.

So, without the blue regulators, we’ll be able to build like it’s 1930 again. Back to the future.

JusticeDelivered | September 27, 2020 at 9:35 pm

I have been prepaying for over a year now to liquidate my Michigan assets and move to a red state,I think Michigan has had it. Muslims will be a big problem over the next 20 years in Michigan.

Maybe, with a split, blue areas will absorb all the riff raff.

We get our government back, free from obstructionist aszhats like Pelosi, Feinstein, and Maxine, and you get your own cozy Politburo where you can debate for two years whether or not applause and/or finger-snapping triggers some of the other delegates.

Like children the Democrats throw tantrums about leaving when Republicans win but then they stay and always get richer. It is ridiculous already. Lannie, stop embarrassing yourself on Twitter.

How did that work for you the last time you Dems tried?

Subotai Bahadur | September 27, 2020 at 9:50 pm

Although not Christian myself, I find that Proverbs 26:11 fits. ” As a dog returns to its vomit, so a fool repeats his foolishness.” Democrats were born of racism and secession, and they return to it.

It has been mentioned before. CW 2.0 will not be like CW 1.0. No mass armies. Siege warfare. Your areas are overpopulated and dependent totally on imported food, water, electricity, natural gas, petrol in all forms.

The average urban area has a 3 day supply of food in warehouses and stores at normal purchase levels. Without constant resupply, it gets hungry out.

Subotai Bahadur

From “The Ayes of Texas” by Daniel da Cruz

(The Governor of Texas addresses the state on TV)

His speech was dignified and brief, with none of his customary imagery and rhetorical flourishes. He gave a resume of his remarks in the Statehouse that morning. He noted the resolution by both houses of the Texas legislature calling for immediate secession from the United States of America and the promulgation of the Second Republic of Texas in the event of Russian incursion into Texas’ waters. Then his voice became grave.

“It is for us, your representatives, to propose. It is for you, the people of Texas, to decide. At this moment, in geosynchronous orbit 38,000 kilometers above Texas, the lenses of TexComSat23-LBJ are focused on us. In exactly five minutes” – he consulted his watch – “at 9:25 P.M., all power-generating equipment in the State of Texas, except for emergency facilities, will be cut. The state will be in total darkness.

“Those who favor Texas remaining in a union that submits to the Russian yoke – if any such there be – will step outside into the night and show a light. A match’s flare, a flashlight, even the glow of a cigarette, will be picked up and registered by TexComSat23-LBJ and relayed to Earth for instant tabulation. I say again: anyone who wishes to remain a citizen of a craven, misguided United States will step outside, and in his loneliness show his feeble beam.”

He paused.

“At 9:35 P.M.,” he resumed, “just fourteen minutes hence, all those in favor of a proud, independent Republic of Texas, ready to fight anybody and everybody who denies us the honor we will die to preserve, will step proudly out into the velvety blackness of the Texas night and light the lamp of freedom…”

At nine-twenty-five, there were brief, isolated flashes of light from one end of Texas to the other. More often than not, they were followed by even briefer flashes as indignant Texans, their firearms at the ready for such expressions of disloyalty, zeroed in on the dissidents and let fly. As a test of loyalty toward the United States, it was a candle snuffed out in a high wind.

At nine-thirty-five, firehouse sirens wailed in every city in the state, and people poured out of houses and apartment buildings. From the Rio Grande to the Oklahoma Panhandle, from the borders of Louisiana to the sands of New Mexico fifteen hundred kilometers away, the state was ablaze with the light of impending battle in twenty million defiant ayes of Texas.

Come on Man, another 5 year temper tantrum?

They won’t have guns, they’ll be banned. So it won’t be long before we take back the land and ship off the undesirables to North Korea.
I really like his idea, we can rid OUR country of liberals.

At least we won’t have Facebook/Twitter/Google to kick around any more.

In your dreams, Lanny. You are unimportant.

What he’s saying is what they’re planning.
Don’t close your ears to this: they’re for real.

    Let them go.

This. Davis is a deep state tick. He’s spent his entire career moving in the Democrat circles of power, being a consultant, writing the occasional book, and going on political shows. It’s given him the mistaken idea that he actually matters.

Don’t let the door slap ya in the backside on the way out Lanny. And oh by the way, you can turn off the lights in California since California can’t make enough power on its own at night.

Hurry Lanny, please hurry.

Juvenile hysteria from a once respected attorney. The musings of a drunk staring at a map and reading Wikipedia statistics incessantly until he believes his own ramblings.

It’s probably what’s best for their well-being and longevity in the long run.

Oh, and we get the oil, since your country will obviously ban fossil fuels. Good luck there, pal. Oh, and all those internet fiber optic cables running thru our country? Boy are we gonna tax the $%#@ out of them! Shipping from one coast to the other? Try the Panama canal. Food? Yeah, what do you have to trade for it? Ouch.

I think it’s a great idea. Let them go. And let them take their venture capitalists with them.

When their new nation becomes a horror movie, make sure the venture capitalists don’t make it back to our country.

No sh*t, Sherlock: this is the best idea the democrats ever had.

The thought of this is about to cause me to have an orgasm. Please hurry. Please hurry.

Dear Lanny Davis. If I believed a word of what you were saying, I would be forced to point out that those of us in the state of New York who don’t live in any city won’t go along with your childish scheme. You do not speak for us and you will not control us. You’ll have to conquer us.

Good luck.

Lanny the Loser needs to get a cat scan. To see if he has an actual brain (probably a very tiny one) or a hamster on a wheel.

Lanny Bozo actually thinks Joementia would be a competent president. LOL

What a stupid twat.

The story of “the oldest civil war of all, that between the city and the country” has already been told, in Edward Abbey’s “Good News”.

TDS is quite comical to watch

Kurt Schlichter has written 4 good books about exactly this happening, and what it would be like to live there:

.”Peoples Republic”,

“Indian Country”,

” Wildfire”, and

“Collapse”.

Read all about it!

Close The Fed in reply to audax. | September 28, 2020 at 10:12 am

I’ve read the first two. Quite good!

Plus, eerily prophetic, or it just shows how predictable the left is.

Fine: you get to keep all that public pension obligations that are currently underfunded as well. Oh, and for those coast states, be sure to put your navy together. If you need to get to your sister states on the opposite coast, be sure to account for the the time to get around the no fly zone. I hear Panama is nice this time of year.

We also withdraw all military assets from these “blue” states and see how long they can survive being “anti-war” with the Chinese invading them. LOL

Ok… I’ll call your bluff… You get venture capital, Hollywood, and the Tech Companies. We’ll take the modern US Manufacturing base and don’t count on Boeing so quickly… They’ll move the rest of their production to SC in a heart beat if given the opportunity.

Just to play along suppose he is right when he says “We get 85 percent of America’s venture capital and entrepreneurs.” Where do you think they will move when they start to be taxed to death?

Lanny is merely part of a phyche op

where do sign up? most of the food is grown in the midwest. we’ll get new orleans, houston and charleston to import and export from.
we also get the naval base in savannah georgia. it’s home of the nuclear submarine fleet. boeing builds the f15 and f18 in st. louis and missouri houses the base for the b1 bomber. we also get florida, which is home to cape canaveral. good luck launching satellites elsewhere.
i know i’m missing a bunch, but this is a deal i’m willing to make.

Davis is the second prominent Clintonista to advocate secession lately, the other is Podesta. https://spectator.us/top-democrats-contemplate-civil-war-biden-loses/

Oh, they’ve been gaming this idea for decades, but are only now going public with it. I’m kind of torn, to be honest, I think they should all congregate in one area and fly their trial utopia balloon without the support of federal aid pouring in to save them from themselves. I very much resent that the tax dollars of every American in better-managed states always seem to end up propping up quasi-commie state and local governments.

I’m torn, though. I suggest giving them Hawaii and letting that be that. All the commies, anarchists, black power, et al. radical loons can have that gorgeous set of islands, but they cannot have one inch of the contiguous United States if they choose to set up their own country.

Contra crazy Lanny’s predictions, they’ll “get” the radical, anarchist, commie, criminal loons who want to abolish police, the Constitution and each and very one of its associated and enumerated rights, guns, and fossil fuels. And whatever other crazy like plastic bags, straws, whatever. Let them sit in the dark once the sun goes down and solar stops working or the wind stops blowing. They can gnaw on their paper straws and smoke all the weed they can grow without disrupting the life-cycle of teensy fish and random owls.

No way would blue states agree to this hellish existence; their only hope is amassing all their lunatics in one geographical area, and Hawaii works for me if we’re giving up states, and I don’t think we should. Let them build their crazy utopian fantasy in PR or Guam (though it might tip over! /eyeroll).

I do like the idea of shipping all the commie nuts out, though. Maybe China will take them? Or Russia?

This guy is as senile as Biden; they must be on the same drugs since they both spew nonsense. Lanny Davis has always been hyper-partisan, in fact, he would have said Arkansas instead of ‘ol Miss, but he didn’t want to offend Bubba.

And since I’m in Illinois, I can tell you that according to the moving companies, IL ranks right behind CT and NJ, with people moving out of the state because of the taxes — personal, property, and business — because we have to pay for all those six-figure pensions of the govt workers. And should Biden win, then with Cory Booker’s plan to destroy the suburbs, I’ll have to move to middle of nowhere anyway.

Hopefully, Lanny’s on Biden’s debate team, so we can be prepared for some entertaining nonsense.

As a denizen of the middle of nowhere, let me assure you that there are far worse fates. 😛 Trade in your corrupt socialist loon overlords for true freedom; you won’t look back. Lower taxes, better standard of living, and surrounded by a better quality people . . . the middle of nowhere ads just write themselves.

Screw ’em … Lanny Davis … pointless ego stroking nonsense … unhelpful and divisive

Lanny Davis?

Who put this partisan Twatwaffle in charge of anything?

Davis is a smoldering turd of a human being and his “idea” is as dumb as bag of belly button lint.

Fuck that guy.

I agree with the admiration for Kurt Schlichter and his books. I just have to note that they are the sanitized version. It will be a lot worse and unbelievably messier.

Subotai Bahadur

Some of you folks have this wrong. I say “Bravo Lanny Davis”.
Get the f.. out, and go now. Except Eastern WA is not going with you and the Seattle feces lovers.
Make sure you take your politicians along, too. You know who we mean.
Take your “entrepreneurs” — we’ll keep the folks that actually do stuff and make things.
Take your lawyers — you all can spend your days suing each other.
But take lots of candles and canned soup, because we are keeping the electric production, the oil, the nuke plants, the cows and pigs, and the ground that grows your kale and wheat.
Take your Hollywood idiots — they can entertain each other with movies about comic books and frustrated lesbians.
Oh, and your population will shrink rapidly, since most of your reproductive agers are either gay or childless, or both.
And don’t try to leave, because we make your cars — except the ones Elon Musk makes, but you won’t be abler to use those either in the dark.

What a great country we would have if Lanny’s plan actually came to pass!

Lanny forgot that Delaware and Maryland were slave states.

Great lanny, but uh, you know – over your dead body. Seriously, once we slaughter you communist all that blue belong to us. It’ll be “America the Beautiful!” once again.

JackinSilverSpring | September 29, 2020 at 2:11 pm

DemoncRats tried this once before, in 1861 if I recall correctly.

Must have missed something. When and where was Davis elected to represent a blue state? Or anything else?

We’ll just take away all their slaves again. Without blacks there’s not much blue left.

Lanny is proof “drugs are bad, mmmkay?”.

Apparently he spent way TOO much time smoking dope with Willie Nelson. Another leftist fuckhead…

Are you people nuts? LET THEM GO! It will be a blessing for all of us in the red states if they leave. Because I’ve got some news for them: All those big companies they think will go with them will eagerly relocate anywhere there is a better tax structure and lower labor costs, and both of those things will become VERY unattractive when all these blue states make good on their tantrum.

We’ll be just fine without you, Lanny-buck.
