Trump Will Deliver Presidential Nomination Acceptance Speech at Either Gettysburg or the White House

Incorrect Confederacy allusions abound

Monday afternoon Trump announced he would give his Presidential Nomination Acceptance Speech at either Gettysburg (a famous Civil War battleground) or the White House.

https://twitter.com/realDonaldTrump/status/1292872318562205699?s=20

Though the Confederacy (under the leadership of General Robert E. Lee) had their butt’s kicked by General Meade, the big heads in the media bubble are so convinced this is all about racist racism and white power and whatever other hallucinations they’re having.

CNN is gonna CNN:

I’m not sure where the notion that uncomfortable history must be removed because it might be uncomfortable began, but it’s a pox and speaks to the collective emotional immaturity of way too many people in this country.

Anyway. Gettsyburg would be a much better choice than the White House, even if we’re now living in a historical idiocracy.

Breaking

https://www.zerohedge.com/political/7-year-old-boy-georgia-died-covid-19-theres-just-one-thing

Secret Service took down an armed person near the fence outside the White House early Monday evening.

Not to be outdone, Biden says he will deliver his acceptance speech from his basement, not once, but three times. It will then be seamlessly edited by NBC and released as the most perfect speech ever.

In looking at the maturity and intelligence of so many in this country, especially of the left, I am convinced that mankind is devolving.

Intelligence levels are falling, at least as far as politicians and education goes. Feelings matter more than facts.

Masculinity is viewed as toxic. Despite the fact that it is through masculine struggles, efforts, wars, and defense is what gives the idiots who cannot face opening a history book without becoming offended, the freedom they enjoy now. They won’t like the end results of the left getting control of power.

You don’t have to be smart at all to be a crook these days… just run for a government positions or get a government job….

It’s probably not so much a universal intelligence problem as a franchise problem. Nobody has ever offered a sound defense of the idea that abolutely any yahoo should have exactly the same vote as all the other yahoos.

The news is aimed at women, as a business model. There’s no interest in hard news (think city council meetings) but one audience will tune in every day, news or no news, and that’s soap opera women. It’s a minority of women (40%) but big enough to pay the bills, so it’s soap opera news or nothing.

The product of news organizations is not news but you. They sell your eyeballs to advertisers.

The population isn’t stupid but the news target audience is, and no public debate has legs unless it appeals to the tastes of soap opera women.

I suppose Lincoln delivered his address there because he loved the confederacy too.

Wherever Trump gives any speech, ClownNN will not be invited. In the second term it will be well that the “press” will have NO access to the President and any conference will conducted via CCTV.

No more need for White House Press Passes, none of them will be welcome on federal property.

Hell, Trump can just deliver his addresses from the basement, just like Biden, and that should be just fine with “media”.

Has the Left ever considered Gettysburg might be chosen because Trump recognises that Democrats are once again seeking to split America, are at war with those who will not agree with them? Oh wait this is the MSM we’re talking about, a group that can barely distinguish between peaceful protesters and violent Leftists yet considers non-Leftist gatherings to be violent andor dangerous.

As fraught as the idiots at XiNN are imagining Gettysburg to be, why aren’t they objecting to the alternative: giving his speech from the Racist House?

FYI

https://www.zerohedge.com/political/1958-psychological-warfare-plan-playing-out-us

“The Naked Communist.” The title, I admit, is chuckle-worthy, but the words inside are no laughing matter, particularly when one reads the section titled, “Importance of the Psychological War.”
Written in 1958, some of the “current strategy goals which the Communists and their fellow travelers are seeking to achieve” seem dated and read like a history book from the past. But then one comes to item number 17:
“Get control of the schools. Use them as transmission belts for socialism and current Communist propaganda. Soften the curriculum. Get control of teachers’ associations. Put the party line in textbooks.” (Emphasis added.)
That part in bold especially caught my attention. Haven’t Americans been suspicious for years that public school curriculum has been dumbed down? Prominent public figures have certainly made this claim, while a comparison of middle school reading lists from today’s schools and those of 100 years ago provides further evidence.
Things take a step closer to home by encouraging the use of “student riots to foment public protests against programs or organizations which are under Communist attack.” We’ve had not a little experience with riots and protests lately, many of which have been heavily attended by young people. Are they mere tools in the hands of an ideology we don’t realize is pulling the strings?
Even more terrifying, the list progresses from student riots to the cancel culture and statue bashing we are also currently experiencing.

“Continue discrediting American culture by degrading all forms of artistic expression,” item number 22 commands, while number 31 calls for Communists to “[b]elittle all forms of American culture and discourage the teaching of American history….”
The document also suggests discrediting both the Constitution and the Founding Fathers…..

He gave a speech at Gettysburg during the 2016 general election. It was one of the best he gave…all from a prompter with little to no ad libs.

The Drill SGT | August 10, 2020 at 8:27 pm

The decision by Lee to fight at Gettysburg, rather than avoiding a fight and getting between Meade and Washington, was the beginning of the end for the Confederacy.

Never again did the South threaten the Union.

David Lentz in reply to The Drill SGT. | August 11, 2020 at 9:18 am

R.E. Lee was the wrong general fighting the wrong war. Gettysburg was the price. It was suggested to Lee that Longstreet be detached to relive Grant’s siege of Vicksburg. To keep Longstreet, Lee said he had better plan, invade the North. So on July 3 Lee lost at Gettysburg and on July 4, Vicksburg fell. Some great plan, Bobby.

democrats should take every cent the party has and pay reparations to the black people of this country. And change the name of the party. The animal can stay because it accurately portrays them as jackasses.

Democrats blocked the first attempt to ratify the 13th Amendment in 1863.

Democrats unanimously voted against the 14th Amendment giving former slaves citizenship.

Democrats unanimously voted against the 15th Amendment giving former slaves the right to vote.

Democrats instituted Jim Crow laws across Democrat led states, preventing African Americans the right to vote.

Democrats held the longest filibuster in U.S Senate history to block the civil rights act 1957.

As the north burnt many southern towns to the ground, and waged war against women, children and old men, the north should be the one paying reparations. Sherman should have been tried as the war criminal he was.

Trump gets a lot more out of notes on the back of an envelope than Lincoln did.

I do think that there are interesting Hatch Act problems in organizing a political speech at the White House. Regarding Gettysburg, one would expect the same rules would apply to the Republican National Convention as to any other group seeking to organize an event there. Thrity days advanced notice and a $100 application fee is required by the NPS. https://www.nps.gov/gett/planyourvisit/permitsandreservations.htm

Sometimes, I can’t even tell if he’s trying to troll them.

Any more, The Screaming-D’s take bait tbat’s not even there.

If he does give it in Gettysburg he’s got the perfect opening line:

Sevenscore and seventeen years ago a Republican president stood here in Gettysburg and highly resolved that government of the people, by the people, for the people, would not perish from the earth. I stand here today and call on you to join me in renewing that high resolution.

I am beginning to wonder if the Communists are afraid black voters won’t turn out in huge numbers for Biden. Usually at this point in the campaign (August) they are talking about the Worst Economy Since The Great Depression (TM).

But instead they are still playing the race card.

And Trump announce this day after outmaneuvering Pelosi/Schumer on the relief bill and on the day the Dems announce their 50-day “Occupy the White House” suffering their first casualty. More and more, Trump is hemming the uniparty into a smaller and smaller space with less room to maneuver.

Keeping in mind that the Dems also plan riots right into the election and beyond, Trump will look more and more like Lincoln so this is a brilliant move. I hope he laces his speeches with plenty of Lincolnesque oratory. Keep it short and to the point… just like Lincoln’s Gettysburg Address.

We are witnessing a brilliant and ballsy presidency.

Katy L. Stamper in reply to Pasadena Phil. | August 11, 2020 at 7:59 am

Quite frankly, Trump is far superior to Lincoln as a president. Unlike Lincoln who acted unconstitutionally CONSTANTLY, Trump has respected the Constitution and declined to send troops to states that have not requested them.

Granted, the states such as Washington, Illinois, et al., are allowing ruinous mayhem against their own citizens, but such is our system of government, that each state was sovereign and they can always vote the bums out.

Now, if Trump would just start telling the courts to pound sand and assert the equality of the executive to the judicial branch, he would be an A++ president, instead of a A- president.

Lincoln didn’t have to deal with a gargantuan corrupt bureaucracy and the country was engaged in all-out war. Wait until his second term. The Senate looks like a shoo-in right now and if the GOP succeeds to win the House, there won’t be another impeachment.

If Trump wins in a landslide, expect a lot of the ancient RINOs to get out of the way. Trump can then work to purge the bureaucracy. I hope he begins by announcing the elimination of the EPA for starters.

BTW, write down the name Steven Schrage. You will understand by the time we get into September and the Durham Report is released.

What part of the constitution forbids him to send troops to states that have not requested them?

It is high time a president challenged the courts, but it has to be in the right case. In general it is the judiciary’s role to determine what the law is, and the other branches must respect that determination. But there have been so many decisions lately by judges who were simply ultra vires, and Trump ought to have called those judges on it and refused to accept their decisions as valid or binding. That would also have given him an opportunity to fire those civil servants who, in deference to these invalid decisions, would refuse to carry out his lawful orders.

Something to think about regarding Trump’s strict adherence to the Constitution. The justification for Trump’s executive orders yesterday was Chief Justice Roberts’ absurd interpretation of the Constitution in justifying the DACA bill which gave Trump new powers. This caught Pelosi and Schumer (and probably McConnell too since it blew up any possible McConnell/Pelosi/Schumer back room deal) by complete surprise.

So now, having lost all negotiating leverage, the Democrats have their backs up against the wall. In yesterday’s semi-daily presser on the Wuhan virus mass imprisonment, Warden Gavin Newsom issued a rambling and confused obfuscation in addressing last week’s computer systems crash, the surprise resignation of CA’s top health official and especially, his desperately wrong-footed rationalization of how Trump’s EOs would bankrupt the state. The Warden was clearly rattled.

For ont thing, he blamed the computer systems crash (which not only rendered the virus data completely useless but also impacted pretty much every department in the state by the sudden explosion of paperwork processing created by the new bureaucratic state) on his predecessor and “lack of funds”, his main theme for everything. It’s not mismanagement of money due to priorities but CA is just not getting enough money from the Feds. Guess what he had to say about the EO covering the extended unemployment payments of which the states have to pay 25%?

That EO will cost CA $750 million PER WEEK! Money CA doesn’t have due to its misallocation of funding to prioritize socialist programs! CA redirected $100 million of its CARE Act share to housing the homeless! There is NO virus outbreak among the most egregious violators of face mask and social distancing laws yet they get the biggest chunk.

Now think about that. Nancy Pelosi was holding Trump’s bill hostage believing in the end, Republicans would fold and she would get the money to bail out the spendthrift states. Epic fail. And Trump did it all by adhering to the Constitution.

Those states like CA, NY, IL, NJ, CT and others who were counting on bail outs are now facing the likelihood that they will be forced into bankruptcy. Any help from the Feds (think re-elected Trump doing the negotiating) will surely be predicated on substantial state spending reforms. Those insane government employee pensions are certain to be #1 on the list. Do you think the Dems will be rioting?

Katy L. Stamper | August 11, 2020 at 8:01 am

Just thinking – – – – He should give his speech on the steps of SCOTUS, and calling them out for their usurpations, and pledge to nominate justices that will follow the law rather than invent it.

Yes, throw the gauntlet down at Roberts, etc.

No, that’s their territory, not his. He wouldn’t let Congress or the judiciary give a speech denouncing him in the Rose Garden.

Katy L. Stamper in reply to Milhouse. | August 11, 2020 at 11:43 am

      Milhouse and his Law-itis.

Trump the Candidate has every bit as much right to make a public statement on the steps of SCOTUS as every two-bit malcontent that protests there every time SCOTUS is considering amending the Constitution again.

      Throw it in their faces!!

SCOTUS’s band of usurpers should be insulted on their home turf!
