This is breaking news, and will be updated.

Donald Trump has announced a peace agreement has been reached through U.S. efforts between Israel and the United Arab Emirites. The UAE would be only the third Arab country, after Egypt and Jordan, to make peace and establish full diplomatic relations with Israel. Israel has agreed to “suspend” plans to “annex” sections of Judea and Samaria.

Text of Joint Statement:

President Donald J. Trump, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of Israel, and Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the United Arab Emirates spoke today and agreed to the full normalization of relations between Israel and the United Arab Emirates.

This historic diplomatic breakthrough will advance peace in the Middle East region and is a testament to the bold diplomacy and vision of the three leaders and the courage of the United Arab Emirates and Israel to chart a new path that will unlock the great potential in the region. All three countries face many common challenges and will mutually benefit from today’s historic achievement.

Delegations from Israel and the United Arab Emirates will meet in the coming weeks to sign bilateral agreements regarding investment, tourism, direct flights, security, telecommunications, technology, energy, healthcare, culture, the environment, the establishment of reciprocal embassies, and other areas of mutual benefit. Opening direct ties between two of the Middle East’s most dynamic societies and advanced economies will transform the region by spurring economic growth, enhancing technological innovation, and forging closer people-to-people relations.

As a result of this diplomatic breakthrough and at the request of President Trump with the support of the United Arab Emirates, Israel will suspend declaring sovereignty over areas outlined in the President’s Vision for Peace and focus its efforts now on expanding ties with other countries in the Arab and Muslim world. The United States, Israel and the United Arab Emirates are confident that additional diplomatic breakthroughs with other nations are possible, and will work together to achieve this goal.

The United Arab Emirates and Israel will immediately expand and accelerate cooperation regarding the treatment of and the development of a vaccine for the coronavirus. Working together, these efforts will help save Muslim, Jewish, and Christian lives throughout the region.

This normalization of relations and peaceful diplomacy will bring together two of America’s most reliable and capable regional partners. Israel and the United Arab Emirates will join with the United States to launch a Strategic Agenda for the Middle East to expand diplomatic, trade, and security cooperation. Along with the United States, Israel and the United Arab Emirates share a similar outlook regarding the threats and opportunities in the region, as well as a shared commitment to promoting stability through diplomatic engagement, increased economic integration, and closer security coordination. Today’s agreement will lead to better lives for the peoples of the United Arab Emirates, Israel, and the region.

The United States and Israel recall with gratitude the appearance of the United Arab Emirates at the White House reception held on January 28, 2020, at which President Trump presented his Vision for Peace, and express their appreciation for United Arab Emirates’ related supportive statements. The parties will continue their efforts in this regard to achieve a just, comprehensive and enduring resolution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. As set forth in the Vision for Peace, all Muslims who come in peace may visit and pray at the Al Aqsa Mosque, and Jerusalem’s other holy sites should remain open for peaceful worshippers of all faiths.

Prime Minister Netanyahu and Crown Prince Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan express their deep appreciation to President Trump for his dedication to peace in the region and to the pragmatic and unique approach he has taken to achieve it.

Poor Palestinians… once again

I’ve been thinking about this all of today and I think this is an excellent strategy by PDT.

Instead of attacking the Israel/”Palestine” problem head on, he decided the way to have a good chance at solving that issue is to nibble at the edges.

Get the rest of the Arab world on the side of Israel, backing the “Palestinians” into a corner.

Once that’s done, they might not go willingly to a solution, but with pressure from the ENTIRE Arab world, they will go.

Given the religions involved, it isn’t worth the paper it’s written on. UAE is dedicated to the eradication of Israel. Anyone who says differently is wrong.

With this stunning stroke, I’m certain the next Nobel peace prize will be awarded by unanimous acclamation to… former President Obama. Again.

Yes, because isn’t that three more peace deals than the last three presidents, since 1993?

There is a reason Obama gets so much praise. He has 666 stamped behind each big floppy ear. Flies and lies are attracted to him. Don’t get me wrong, I am merely using SARCASM here. But if someone were to draw a cartoon of the antichrist, they couldn’t go wrong using Obama for their model.

I don’t care what anyone says, I’m all for peace.

This is a step in the right direction.

Hope it holds.

The enemy of my enemy is my friend.

And Iran is everyone’s enemy right now.

Only three Arab countries have made peace with Israel, since its founding. Tells you something about the oppressive gravitational force of Islamic jihad, and, how hard it is for Muslims to reject the central tenet of their supremacist and totalitarian ideology, which calls for the destruction or subjugation of all people who don’t worship as they do.

But, of course, it’s the Jews’ fault, for having the temerity to resist Arab Muslims’ genocidal aspirations, against them.

Who says they’ve rejected it? All peace treaties with Muslims are only ever hudna, to be discarded whenever opportune. The Quran removes any duty on the part of Muslims to keep their word with infidels.

“The stone the builders rejected has become the cornerstone, and it is wonderful in our eyes.”

I really like the able way DJT can use all of the tools at his disposal, to bring about agreements among nation-states. It’s obvious from his speeches that he knows his recent history, and that he has a grasp of what is good for each.

Wow.

Obama got the Nobel Peace Prize for doing nothing.

I wonder what Trump will get for this. Right, “world community”?

The Friendly Grizzly | August 13, 2020 at 2:55 pm

So. PDJT has picked up 9 more Jewish voters.

lmao, truth. 8 more than I guessed.

Elections are won on domestic policy. This as an individual achievement doesn’t move the needle.

But collectively all his achievements do. The message here is national security. The more he aligns the world in a peaceful way that takes care of its own problems, the less of a burden we have to shoulder and foot the bill for.

He promised to make the country more secure in a dangerous world and stop paying for the world’s defense. He is doing it.

Professor, respectfully, it’s EmirAtes, not EmirItes.

So the residents of the “territories” pay the price again, and will continue to live under the Defense Department’s rule, and subject to its whims, for the foreseeable future. And defenders of Israel everywhere will continue to argue with one hand tied behind their back, because even under Israeli law the “territories” are not part of Israel.

Saudi Arabia will not be far behind.

Before Trump gets finished it will be Iran and the terrorists against everyone else. Isolation continues. Economic destruction continues.

Iran will collapse in the very near future.

IIRC wasn’t a member of the Saudi royal family castigating the Palestinians for their unending and expensive state of war against Israel? About 6 months ago and I think he was a finance guy in the kingdom. Perhaps I read it on here. I hope you are right about Saudis being next to make peace w Israel.

randian in reply to JimWoo. | August 13, 2020 at 10:07 pm

Such pronouncements are warnings about tactics, nothing more. Saudi Arabia is one of the largest conduits for Islamic terror financing in the world, much of it originating in Saudi Arabia itself. Did you think that the hundreds of millions of dollars collected each year by Hamas, Hezbollah, ISIS, the Muslim Brotherhood, and so on from direct donations and numerous Islamic charities is kept in proverbial mattresses?

Barry in reply to randian. | August 13, 2020 at 10:57 pm

I think if you’re fair you would acknowledge that the Saudi Crown Prince has a more modern vision for Saudi Arabia.

It is clear that the crown prince and President Trump have worked together to defeat Iran and the terror networks.

The terror networks are no longer funded so much by the Saudi Arabians. They are now largely funded by Iran.

notamemberofanyorganizedpolicital in reply to Barry. | August 13, 2020 at 11:05 pm

Does the castration of the Bush gang have anything to do with that?

Barry in reply to Barry. | August 13, 2020 at 11:16 pm

My opinion, yes. When Trump easily put down the last Bush the Saudi’s saw what was coming. From the first day of the Trump presidency the Saudi’s knew it was a new world in the ME and the Bush/Clinton/Bush/obama era was over. That was welcomed by many. Not all muslims are crazed and intent upon destruction.

President Trump’s first international trip was to Saudi Arabia.

Barry in reply to JimWoo. | August 13, 2020 at 11:10 pm

Not next Jim, just in the near future. The satellites of the UAE, Oman and Bahrain, will be the next countries, IMO.

There are changes occurring in the ME. The UAE cannot take on Iran on it’s own, it needs the power of the US behind it, as do the Saudi’s. Trump is leveraging this. You don’t get something for nothing.

If Biden wins, it will all fall apart and Iran will be the winners short term. Iran will then have nukes within 5 years. SA will be forced to go nuclear, probably has an agreement with Pakistan already.

Trump has to win or hell will occur in the ME. Hell in the ME will destroy much of the western economy because of the need for ME oil.

      The stakes are huge.
