In Chicago, police arrested more than 100 people overnight over “allegations of looting, disorderly conduct and more in the chaos, looting and violence that also left 13 officers injured,” reports local news.

From the Chicago Sun Times:

“We are waking up in shock this morning,” said Mayor Lori Lightfoot, calling it “brazen criminal looting and destruction.”

Chicago Police Supt. David Brown, who joined the mayor for a news conference at CPD headquarters Monday, called it “pure criminality” not connected to any peaceful protest.

“Criminals took to the streets with the confidence that there would be no consequences for their actions,” Brown said, adding that police would aggressively pursue cases against people involved in the looting.

“You have no right, no right to take and destroy the property of others,” Lightfoot said. “We are coming for you. … I don’t care what justification was given for this. There is no justification.”

The rioting and looting included an area mall:

More from local news:

Chaos erupted in downtown Chicago early Monday, with widespread looting at countless businesses, property damage and shots fired both at and by police.

More than 100 people were arrested, Chicago Police Supt. David Brown said at a news conference Monday morning alongside Mayor Lori Lightfoot. Brown said more than 100 people were arrested for allegations of looting, disorderly conduct and more in the chaos, looting and violence that also left 13 officers injured.

The unrest began at around 12:20 a.m., when police were called to reports of a mob scene on Michigan Avenue. Large crowds gathered outside the Saks Fifth Avenue and Coach stores, with hundreds of people yelling and throwing things at officers.

Looters were captured on video in multiple locations, with merchandise taken and storefronts vandalized. Officers were told to respond wearing helmets and there were multiple reports of gunshots.

Just before 5 a.m., a Chicago police spokesman tweeted that shots had been fired at officers who returned fire near the intersection of Michigan Avenue and Lake Street. No officers were injured in that shooting, Tom Ahern said, adding that it was not known at the time if the offenders were shot.

It appeared as though the looting initially began in the city’s Loop, but spread to multiple Chicago neighborhoods in the overnight hours, with reports of businesses struck in River North, Streeterville, Lincoln Park, the Gold Coast and the South Loop as well.

I am starting to believe that Chicago is lost. Looters were coming into the city last night with shopping bags, U-hauls and other ways to take their spoils home with them. Today, most of downtown is closed–I woke up to a notice that the Thompson Center is closed, so there will be no work comp offices open, or any other govt offices open there. They had to raise the drawbridges to keep people from coming into the city to commit crimes–and Lightfoot continues to throw the police under the bus.

For a real look at what goes on from a cop’s perspective, read the Second City Cop blog which is run by officers–some of the things they report are chilling.

I guarantee Twitter and Facebook could help name every one of the rioters, how long this had been planned, who they coordinated with, who told whom the hit what store, what they managed to steal – with photos, etc.

The Left has got the same problem Victor von Frankenstein had – they created the Monster, they set the Monster loose, now the Monster is tearing up the shit and won’t do what they tell it to do. Too bad, so sad. I feel sorry for any good people in Chicago, but you’re getting what you voted for.

They raised the drawbridges to keep the Visipocs out of the city.

Ancient Rome just called and said “you’re f*cked.”

Sweet home, Chicago. My kind of town.

“Not connected to any peaceful protest”

Why, then does it always coincide with a BLM protest? I didn’t see this happening in 2009 when the TEA party protests started occuring

Scdooterjay — Other than the gunfire, assaults, disorderly conduct and looting, the evening was “mostly peaceful”.

The Democrat Controlled Chicago TV stations still refused to call these criminals, looters. This morning Channel 5 [NBC] & Channel 7 [ABC] continued to call the mob, Protestors!

The Chicago TV “news” is sickening. The idiot reporters were scrambling to find way to blame President Trump for the breakdown in Chicago.

events like this make it harder and harder to NOT cast sideways glances at the black community. The silence of black leaders is deafening

    Head on over to https://thedonald.win.

There is a growing chorus of Black voices denouncing this crap, from across the political spectrum, and up and down the social levels. Some of them are even former gang members.

People from TheDonald.win may be the only group that is making the effort to find and listen to these people. The MSM certainly isn’t doing it, and Big Tech is busy trying to suppress them.

Everybody agrees that Lives Matter, but a lot of people, including some of the founders of the organization BLM, see that the organization, as currently configured, is not controlled by Black people, nor is it acting in the interests of Black people.

You mean like Oprah and Michelle?

If 100 were arrested in that crap hole, how many got away with it?

“We are waking up in shock this morning,” said Mayor Lori Lightfoot, calling it “brazen criminal looting and destruction.”

As a token liberal, she is using “we” way too liberally.

Her words speak louder than action. This is Just steeply discounted shopping. Reparations you know for hundreds of years of something else. Until cities can legally force businesses to stay and flood the burbs with the projects, they will continue to lose their financial base….taken for granted now.

“We are waking up in shock this morning,” said Mayor Lori Lightfoot.

I seriously doubt this tool will ever “wake up”.

She is wide awake, and her expressed shock is in the same style as Inspector Raynault, or however it’s spelled. She knows full well what she is doing.

What the Hell? What was she doing going to bed when her city was under attack? She should have been out there on the front lines observing and helping where possible.

She should be going to sleep today after staying up all night.

The police chief chloroformed her expressly to prevent that.

Sorry for the accidental downvote, iPhones are tiny.

“We are waking up in shock this morning,” said Mayor Lori Lightfoot, calling it “brazen criminal looting and destruction.”

Brazen criminal looting?

No, no. It’s just DIY wealth redistribution.

Authorize the use of live ammunition to stop looters in the act. That would put a stop to this bulls**t very quickly.

I blame “white supremacists”. You know – the ones the Joseph Goebbels media claim are lurking under every bed in AmeriKKKa, but no one has actually seen.

How long will outfits like Boeing remain there? I’ve been following things over at Second City Cop, and one comment-maker alluded to how the Chicago Mercantile exchange, and some of the other financial centers with trading floors are going entirely to terrminals, or have built/are building new trading floors in other places.

Only thing new here is the sheer number of thugs and thieves. Any white person visiting downtown after dark takes a huge risk of being robbed and attacked by feral blacks. Been that way for years.

So, the war against honest, law-abiding Americans goes on, unchecked. Does this sound familiar? The same thing happened in NYC a month ago. Look for it to happen in LA next month. It is a tactic. Nothing will happen in Chicago. Just as nothing happened in NYC. The government(s) will not protect the people. The people are nit yet willing to do it themselves. So, the barbarians will continue to loot, pillage and plunder for a while. This is all designed to destroy the current fabric of this nation. And, it will be coming to a town and city near you tomorrow.

What of it?? At one time a criminal record was a deterrent. Now its a badge of honor.

Major part of the problem as told to me by a CPD retiree is the complete lack of fear/respect for cops. The thugs know that after they are arrested when they appear before a imbecile in a black robe they will in most cases be bonded out. Don’t take my word for it look at the backgrounds of two criminals involved in recent shootings. A 19 yr old was arrested for aggravated unlawful use of a weapon, bonded out and murdered two teenagers in a store buying candy. Unless I missed it they never publicize the identity of the judge behind a horrific decision like that. Judges need to be held accountable. Incident number 2 about ten days ago a “career criminal” with pending cases was able to hide a gun during his pat down search and upon arrival at the station used it to shoot and wound three cops. Both these guys should have been in jail for gun crimes. I could go on and on but you get the point. Look up Shomari Legghette criminal history, this ex felon with extensive history of gun crimes murdered a high ranking Chicago cop named Paul Bauer.

I thought a Trump sent help to
Chicago?

Pretty sure this all began after another incident where a black man was shot by police… He shot at them first, the gun was recovered, but facts don’t matter.

Chicago DA Kim Fox dismissing charges in %30 of felony cases while cops are required to work 12 hr shifts with no days off. They’re going to need more cops. All this while Mayor Groot really dropping the boom on a peaceful gathering at Montrose Harbor and threatening to close every park and beach down because of people not obeying her China flu edicts.

Whatever. As I’ve said before in regards to Portland and Seattle as long as the violence and riots stay in Chicago I don’t have an ounce of sympathy for Mayor Beetlejuice and her incompetent administration of the city. They are reaping what they sow and are getting exactly what they deserve.

Unfortunately, the corruption runs deep in Chicago and has so for decades… current inept mayor is just par for the course…

My sister, father and my nephew all live in downtown Chicago and they love living there. They don’t pay much attention to politics but hopefully they will vote smarter – I’m not sure what can be done to fix the wide spread corruption in govt there…

100 arrests are 97 more than the police make in most democrat riot centers with fewer convictions. It is treated as political expression, capitalism bad, communism is good, revolution now, whites must be punished.

In Chi town, they call this Sunday.

Seems to be a more larcenous cast this kind of thing when African Americans do it. The, mostly white, rioters in Portland don’t seem to have much interest in stealing stuff, just lighting fires and smashing things.

Black Louis Vitton Bags Matter!

The Citizens of Chicago deserve the government THEY ELECTED. More proof the democrats are incapable of effective leadership. They ARE the Enemy of America and its people.

This kind of behavior will continue until troops are brought in and respond with live ammunition.
Second, it confirms all the prejudices people have about black criminality.
Third, it will accelerate the ongoing exodus from Chicago and Illinois

Hey, but at least the good news: somebody actually arrested somebody.
