Media’s Swift and Dishonest ‘Reporting’ On Trump’s Mount Rushmore Speech

They claim they want “unity,” but what do they mean by that?

When I saw the overwhelming number of headlines proclaiming President Trump’s Independence Day speech at Mount Rushmore “dark,” “divisive,” and “harsh.”  I smiled a little.  Okay, I smiled a lot.

Trump “stokes national divisions” and his speech was “dark and divisive,” they proclaimed as one.  Even if I hadn’t already listened to the whole thing, I would have suspected that they are protesting too much and that it’s most likely due to their fear that the anti-American violence and destruction is not going to play well with voters in November.

Here are just a few of the more hysterical headlines:

  • Reuters:  “Trump repeats vow to defeat ‘radical left’ in July Fourth speech”
  • CNN: “Trump doubles down on divisive messaging in speech to honor Independence Day”
  • CNBC: “Trump stokes national divisions in Fourth of July speech”

Obviously, at least to anyone who heard or read the speech without their Trump Derangement cranked up to fifty-eleven, the president did just the opposite.

TDS-addled leftwing media activists also took to Twitter to share their “hot takes.”  Via Twitchy:

Frankly, there is only one way to unite Americans, and it’s the same way we did for generations before the Marxist scourge took over academia and the Democrat Party: as Americans.

The left, however, appears to have a goal of unity that they are shoving down voters’, politicians’, and the president’s throats.  Their idea of “unity” is the same “unity” Democrats, socialists, communists, and assorted totalitarians and dictators always want: complete submission to their iron-fisted tyranny.

Here’s an NBC “contributor” waxing her own special brand of “unity” and noting that the president’s goal didn’t seem to be meet her and her horde’s definition.

The leftstream media are clearly unified in their hatred of Trump, his supporters, and if they believe as those they run interference for, of America herself.

But this barrage of unfounded, dishonest criticism of the president’s speech suggests, to me anyway, that they are very concerned that the violence and destruction will not serve their chosen candidate well when it comes time for voters to reflect on the riots, destruction of monuments and statues, arson, looting, and assorted lawlessness Democrat leaders have permitted, even exalted.

    Ha! I thought that, too. There is nothing President Trump can say that will sway the TDS-deranged. His best bet is focusing on what he mentioned in his speech. Only the most frothing-at-the-mouth radical loons want to abolish ICE and the police . . . let alone freaking capitalism. Black people are appalled at the idea of abolishing the police. Are they smart enough to #WalkAway? Or will they buy this every-four-year Democrat pretense that they give a poop about black people? That remains to be seen.

      Any number of “news” articles and stories can be applied (with only a light bit of editing) to ANY Republican president or nominee for the past 60 years. By now I suspect it is standardized into a Micro$oft Word template for lazy journalists.

Look, you can say what you say here, but no normal American is going to see the virtue in voting for anyone but GOP/e when our entire way of life, our Constitution is under attack. Few are so stupid and dim-witted that they would rather a Democrat than a supposed GOPe . . . what? Wizard? Get a freaking grip and stop with the we must eat our own crazy.         Don’t you get that for any Trump reforms to have lasting meaning they must be done via Congress? Do you seriously not understand our government? Nip them in the bud. Do not allow cable service to charge for package deals that subsidize fake news outlets or disgusting sports channels.

Allow subscribers to order a’la’carte. Prohibit the cable providers from subsidizing unwanted programming/propaganda.

No one should suffer the indignity of having to pay for CNN or other dregs of media if they choose not to consume such vomit.

      This might be easy to do in a large metropolitan area with 60 or more over-the-air channels with great variety of programming but not so easy where, like us, there are only a couple of dozen with few of those offering something Spectrum already has. We have antennas on our TVs for the times we want to see what a cable channel doesn’t have or for the rare times the cable system is off.

    The idea of a la carte cable service has been kicked around for years but the cost of subscribing to individual channels would be astronomical compared to channel packages. If you don’t like a $150 TV/internet bill already, would you like a $300 one?

    Service providers use their interfaces for many things, including keeping track of who watches what, when, and for how long. That’s how they know Fox News does so well and CNN so poorly. Vote with the remote. Just don’t watch what you don’t want to see.

I can’t read the news any more Fuzzy. I just can’t. I used to be a reporter, I used to be a news junkie. It is such poison now I’ve forsworn all of it, unless I run across something mentioned by by someone I trust, which includes this site. Even then, sometimes I have to skim.

I never thought I’d live to see the U.S. media as rotten and soulless as the worst propagandists in history.

I’ve been thinking about this a lot over the past few days, and I’ve come to the conclusion that the entire debate about whether or not the speech was “divisive” is a red hearing. The reality is that right now this country *is* divided between two largely antithetical ideas of what it is, and what it could be.

On the one side, you have the faction that, all they claim to care about is the blood of your ancestors. All that they claim matters is who you were born from or the meat you are made of. They a treating everyone as though what they are born as is the primary things that matters. They see America as defined and should be defined by Blood, and don’t seem to see anything wrong with that. They are the Nation of Blood.

And, on the other, we have the side of the self-evident truths, the belief that all men are created equal, and that right are universal and inalienable, and that the only path to a just a good society is one that recognizes and abides by those rights. That your blood does not dictate who you are, or who you might become. To strive to be the best you can possibly be, from your own sweat and tears, unbound by the blood that flows in your veins, this is the American Dream.

Those that see the world as defined by one’s birth rail against the sin of slavery, but to see people as bound by blood is the original sin that slavery sprung from. To return to a time where your place is society is dictated by one’s skill color, by one’s parentage, by one’s immutable characteristics is to revive that dead sin, and to murder the American Dream.

The newsies want to accuse others of dark and divisive ways, but it is their elevations of skin above all else that betrayed the common ties of allegiance we once had. It is not those who called out their actions that have divided the country, but rather they who have cut the country asunder for their own ends who made those divisions.

If this weekend told us anything, it is that Americans in general are fed up with iron-fisted tyranny. Yesterday,I posted that link to a dramatic news helicopter video showing the entire LA sky being lit up by fireworks. I was expecting others would would post similar examples from around the country. NOT ONE!!!

Last night, there were fireworks going off most of the night, even in my neighborhood. This isn’t Idaho. This is CA and I guarantee that most of this was NOT conservative Republican. Are we the only ones defying the Marxists? I really doubt it.

If I were a Marxist today, I would be concerned that the tide may be turning fast. I am expecting a lot more “blue parades” which I hope will “put a little lead in the pencils” to dare make use of the second amendment in recruiting citizens to help create a powerful deterrent to these establishment-approved violent Marxist agitators.

Dare to think it, then dare to speak it, then DO IT!

Our country is under attack from radical leftists. Mobs rampage through our streets, monuments are being destroyed, and the very law and order that ensures our communities’ peace and security is being undermined. In far too many instances, those bent on destruction have hijacked protests, creating violence and division and ultimately attacking the very foundation of our nation. For them, it’s not about resolving race issues; it’s about using racial discontent to forward their anarchist agenda like Antifa. While it is widely recognized as a far-left fringe group, another organization—just as radical—has managed to drape itself in more mainstream smokescreen called Black Lives Matter (BLM). The organization actually advocates an agenda that is completely out of step with American values. One look at the BLM organization’s website shows that the idea of protecting black lives and seeking justice is merely a vehicle to advance a different, radical set of ideas. The organization is more dedicated to gaining political power and remaking America according to Marxist ideology. The group’s platform includes planks unrelated to improving black lives, like calling for dismantling the family, saying, “We disrupt the Western-prescribed nuclear family structure.” The breakdown of the black family and the rise of single-parent households is one of the root causes of poverty, crime, drug abuse and poor educational achievement in many black communities. Why would anyone who’s supposedly working for black progress want to tear down the very thing that helps to achieve it?
Just as disturbing is the fact that some of America’s biggest corporations are giving hundreds of thousands and even millions of dollars to this organization and others whose misleading names conceal a more expansive and dangerous agenda.
Groups like Antifa and the BLM organization want to impose an ideology on America that would only bring greater poverty, a loss of freedom, destruction to churches and civil society, and violent law enforcement tactics to enforce compliance.
We’ve seen leftist protesters physically and verbally attacking police officers, an entire neighborhood turned into a violent “autonomous zone” with spineless politicians telling the police to stand down and let anarchists rule over innocent residents.
We’ve seen violent mobs defacing and toppling statues of historical figures such as soldiers and abolitionists. We must stop the violence and destruction and bring those committing criminal acts to justice while protecting the rights of good people to protest peacefully.
We must support our police officers who risk their lives every day to protect us no matter our color, religion, sex or nationality—while also making needed reforms like removing police unions to weed out bad cops and end unacceptable policing procedures.
Calls to defund the police are calls for chaos, and calls to disarm them are lunacy. We’ve seen what happens in Seattle, Minneapolis and other cities when criminals are allowed free rein.
Their Marxist agenda has wrought destruction on nations for generations. It expands government control and takes every opportunity to limit freedom—and it must not take root in the United States.
The most desperate communities in America have been run by the liberal left for a generation or more. We’ve seen what that leadership has brought: generational poverty, fatherless families, worse educational outcomes, more disparity and higher crime rates. Lurching even further left would be even more disastrous. Instead, we must implement conservative policies to ensure America’s promise of liberty and opportunity is a promise for all Americans. America is a land of promise, and conservative policies can make those promises ring true for all Americans.
