Faculty at Princeton Accuse School of Anti-Blackness, Issue List of Demands

“We call upon the administration to block the mechanisms that have allowed systemic racism to work, visibly and invisibly, in Princeton’s operations”

Academia is going to hasten its own demise. People are going to just stop sending their children to many schools.

The College Fix reports:

Princeton faculty accuse school of rampant ‘anti-blackness,’ issue list of 48 demands

More than 200 Princeton University faculty have signed a letter demanding nearly 50 initiatives to address what the scholars contend is rampant anti-blackness and racism that festers at the Ivy League institution.

“At this moment of massive global uprising in the name of racial justice, we the faculty—Black, Latinx, Asian, and members of all communities of color along with our white colleagues—call upon the University to take immediate concrete and material steps to openly and publicly acknowledge the way that anti-Black racism, and racism of any stripe, continue to thrive on its campus,” stated the demand letter.

The letter is dated July 4 and addressed to President Christopher Eisgruber and various provosts and deans. It joins a similar demand letter recently signed by students and alumni that calls on the school to pay reparations for slavery and abolish the campus police department.

“We call upon the administration to block the mechanisms that have allowed systemic racism to work, visibly and invisibly, in Princeton’s operations,” the faculty letter states.

The letter urges campus leaders to address nearly 50 “demands” broken into five categories: university-level, faculty-level, postdoc-level, graduate-level and undergraduate-level.

It is already getting criticism from some.

“Princeton faculty letter calls for eliminating academic freedom via a committee that would review all publications for racist thought (racist defined by the committee). It was issued on….July 4th,” points out writer Zaid Jilani on Twitter.

The words “university” and “demands” seem to go together a lot. Time for some deans or benefactors to start saying “no”, and, “if you don’t like it here, pack your belongings and be gone. You have 30 minutes to clear your office; there are boxes and tape in the corridor”.

A thousand up votes for you!

It is how Dean T. G. Grizzly would handle it. I am not woke. I do not suffer fools gladly.

I had a leftist view of things in my college days, but even I got fed to the teeth with the constant race or ethnic-based complaints shouted out by the malcontents.

I attended San Diego State College, and the “malcreado” Mexicans were unbelievable with their constant stream of complaints and demands. I had trouble accepting the ‘if you don’t like it, go back to Mexico” statements made by my classmates who were older, or were veterans, or who had been out in the actual working world before attending college. However, it didn’t take me long to understand, and then side with those with real-world experience.

Agree. It’s the benefactors who really need to shut this down. But aren’t they rather corporate-connected?

I can understand how peer pressure among the faculty would force many of them to sign such a statement, drafted by a small number of instigators. It takes no commitment from them, signals virtue, and prevents them from being Mobbed by their peers.

There is a lot of fear among university faculty of being singled out as not being “woke” enough and being rejected by the other faculty. Once an instigator points out someone’s lack of enthusiasm for the revolution, other faculty are more likely to help shove the victim into the tumbrel than to endanger themselves by speaking up for the accused.

“other faculty are more likely to help shove the victim into the tumbrel than to endanger themselves by speaking up for the accused.”

Perhaps such “victims” could use some Jacobson balls.

“Princeton faculty accuse school of rampant ‘anti-blackness”

Even at The New York Times, they must be laughing at that.

If it’s working invisibly, how do you know it’s there?

Schickelgruber–I mean Eisgruber–tried to head of the loonies by dropping the Wilson name.
But the deranged left (is there any other kind?) demands total surrender. A glance at the list of signers shows the predominance of affirmative action hires in such worthless fields as coon studies, English lit, creative writing, etc. I just love it when cowardly administrators get hoist on their own past stupidity. What is needed is a thorough cleansing of the academic sewer.

If you can’t achieve your dreams through hard work or capability, make ‘demands’. They debase their own credibility by actions like this, but it seems they’re too stupid to recognize it.
