CNN Hardest Hit: Michigan Study Shows Hydroxychloroquine ‘Significantly’ Lowered Coronavirus Death Rate

“Our analysis shows that using hydroxychloroquine helped saves lives. As doctors and scientists, we look to the data for insight. And the data here is clear that there was benefit to using the drug as a treatment for sick, hospitalized patients.”

Remember when the media and leftists trashed President Donald Trump for hyping hydroxychloroquine as a treatment for the Wuhan coronavirus? Pepperidge Farms remembers.

Trump received more vindication from a study at the Henry Ford Health System.

Yes, CNN. We remember what you said before.

From the Henry Ford Health System:

In a large-scale retrospective analysis of 2,541 patients hospitalized between March 10 and May 2, 2020 across the system’s six hospitals, the study found 13% of those treated with hydroxychloroquine alone died compared to 26.4% not treated with hydroxychloroquine. None of the patients had documented serious heart abnormalities; however, patients were monitored for a heart condition routinely pointed to as a reason to avoid the drug as a treatment for COVID-19.

The study was published today in the International Journal of Infectious Diseases, the peer-reviewed, open-access online publication of the International Society of Infectious Diseases (ISID.org).

The study included giving patients another drug called azithromycin:

The study also found those treated with azithromycin alone or a combination of hydroxychloroquine and azithromycin also fared slightly better than those not treated with the drugs, according to the Henry Ford data. The analysis found 22.4% of those treated only with azithromycin died, and 20.1% treated with a combination of azithromycin and hydroxychloroquine died, compared to 26.4% of patients dying who were not treated with either medication.

“Our analysis shows that using hydroxychloroquine helped saves lives,” said neurosurgeon Dr. Steven Kalkanis, CEO, Henry Ford Medical Group and Senior Vice President and Chief Academic Officer of Henry Ford Health System. “As doctors and scientists, we look to the data for insight. And the data here is clear that there was benefit to using the drug as a treatment for sick, hospitalized patients.”

Doctors use azithromycin to treat bacterial infections since it helps stop the bacteria from growing.

However, I found at medicineplus.gov that medicines like “azithromycin will not work for colds, flu, or other viral infections.”

Everyone, especially those with TDS, needs to remember that the majority of those who died were elderly or had underlying conditions:

Overall, hospital system patients in the study experienced an 18.1% in-hospital mortality rate. Regardless of treatment, mortality was highest in:

  • Patients older than 65,
  • Patients who identified as Caucasian,
  • Patients admitted with reduced oxygen levels,
  • Patients who required ICU admission.

Patients who died commonly had serious underlying diseases, including chronic kidney and lung disease, with 88% dying from respiratory failure. Globally, the overall mortality from SARS-COV-2 is estimated to be approximately 6% to 7%, with mortality in hospitalized patients ranging between 10% and 30%, according to the study. Mortality as high as 58% has been seen among patients requiring ICU care and mechanical ventilation.

Reminder! You should take in studies with some caution. Dr. Marcus Zeveros, division head of Infectious Disease for Henry Ford Health System, said the drug needs more analysis:

Dr. Zervos also pointed out, as does the paper, that the study results should be interpreted with some caution, should not be applied to patients treated outside of hospital settings and require further confirmation in prospective, randomized controlled trials that rigorously evaluate the safety and efficacy of hydroxychloroquine therapy for COVID-19.

“Currently, the drug should be used only in hospitalized patients with appropriate monitoring, and as part of study protocols, in accordance with all relevant federal regulations,” Dr. Zervos said.

Listen. Common sense. Always talk to your own doctor instead of relying on government officials and doctors who never met you.

The problem with Hydroxcholorquine is that it costs pennies a pill. Remdesevir is $500 a pill. How about “esteemed” Dr. Facui?

Connivin Caniff | July 3, 2020 at 4:32 pm

The generic but effective Hydroxcholorquine is so cheap that it can’t carry enough of a bribe load as demanded by our totally corrupt bureaucracy. On the other hand, Remdesevir does nothing, but since the monopolistic moola is there, Fauci and Friends ran a virtual telemarketing infomercial for Remdesevir, making Trump look like a fool. But the prime reason they fear the Hydroxcholorquine so much is, if given in early stages of infection, it is a game changer, and thereby spells the end of their dictatorial powers. Without those powers they can’t destroy the economy and get Trump thrown out!

What are the odds that CNN viewers will ever hear about this study?

All the neverTrumpers in the media attacking HCQ just to go against Trump helped prevent its use by millions.

Can we now say that “they have blood in their hands”?

That evil action must have red pilled tens of millions of now former Democrat voters.

Early on Tucker had a doctor on his show, from Mt. Sinai hospital in Astoria, casually mention that he was taking Plaquenil as a prophylactic. I knew it was the real deal then and there. Tucker didn’t notice, but his producer whispered in his ear, and he asked about it and HCQ in general.

Congratulation CNN, you just graduated from Fake News, to Deadly News.

It’s called regulatory capture, where people with a monetary interest are best placed to get the attention of government officials.

The same thing happened during the HIV epidemic.

Bristol-Myers got all excited because a cheap, two-drug combination looked practical for treatment of HIV infection, and offered to give $500M worth of medicine to Africa.

They were castigated in the media for daring to offer cheap drugs to Africans, and for possibly interfering (!) with the development of more expensive drugs. They eventually got out of the business.

The FDA also made an announcement that we had enough protease inhibitors, so no more of them would be approved, in order to protect the market for drug makers.

This is deja vu all over again, for me.

Meanwhile, in California, the local newspaper wants to blame bars, and tell us that there is “no evidence” that the recent protests had anything to do with the current spike in cases. This after reports on Next Door that contact tracers have been instructed to refuse to record involvement in a protest.

It might also be wise to look into the financial interests of those in the NHI, CDC, FDA, and all the US agencies, as there are 50 patents held by the CDC alone for vaccines. No one, not even Trump, had any idea how deep the swamp actually is and how embedded these people are.

notamemberofanyorganizedpolicital in reply to Valerie. | July 3, 2020 at 7:48 pm

Everyone remember the lesson from Valerie’s post.

If your State forces you to do contact tracing like New York’s Cuomo – where every person you come in contact to is also automatically counted as infected – just tell them you were out rioting, uh, I mean protesting.

More like looting, every riot has been cover to loot. I have been around groups who made it clear that they were entitled to loot.

More often than not I’m now leaving my phone at home. Most trips aren’t over an hour or so, I can make it without the phone for that long.
Also turned off bluetooth which is the standard most of those trackers are using when I do take the phone with me. Turn it on only when I’m doing my walks with the ear buds.

Connivin Caniff in reply to 4fun. | July 4, 2020 at 9:39 am

Wouldn’t it be safer for you if you put the phone in a metallic container, so you have it for an emergency, but it is not detectable?

“Always talk to your own doctor instead of relying on government officials and doctors who never met you.”

Also, never rely solely on your doctor. Your health is YOUR responsibility. You can’t just delegate it away.

I had symptoms of Laryngopharyngeal reflux (LPR) for years. My wife finally figured out what it was. Protonix fixed it WITHIN ONE DAY. Now I’m about to get an endoscopy to see how much damage was done. None of my doctors found it.

Keyword: Narrative.

HCQ impairs ability of virus to enter cells and facilitates entry of Zinc. Zinc inhibits the virus’s ability to reproduce inside the cell. AZ treats opportunistic pathogens. This cocktail is a disinfectant that is most effective before disease progression and reduces the virus’s viability, but does not, in itself, “cure” the disease, but rather aids the body’s natural mechanisms and defenses to function more effectively.

    GatorGuy in reply to n.n. | July 5, 2020 at 1:09 am

    Perfectly described.

Now, with the current HCQ/Zn/AZ clinical counter-movement rekindling the drug-combination’s true and rightful place in the far less costly, safe, efficacious, and ethical therapy/prophylaxis of COVID-19, additional controlled clinical trials have to be realistically, albeit soundly designed to accept and support, rather than reject and oppose, the appropriate and judicious use of the tremendously valuable drug-triad.

By keeping the swampish inputters’ influence in such trial designs to an absolute minimum going forward, if, in all respects, that’s even possible, we the people will make it through this crisis far more likely alive, rather than deceased, and far more likely serious-symptom-free, rather than ill enough to require hospitalization — and worse yet, a most serious risk to one’s long-term well-being with this disease, on mechanical ventilation.

Big Pharma; the military-defense-industry complex; big energy; the IC, etc — all hate PDT because he’s the real president of the free and brave people, and the blessed country in which such people naturally thrive, and not the go-along-to-get-along, head-bobbling puppet attached to the control strings operated by the aforementioned entities et al. The Dem-Lefties, being so naturally designed and readily wired for this supremely passive role and operation, are thus eager to assume them.

Keep those newly supportive trials and studies of the cheap, very helpful, and comparatively safe Covidian triad of HCQ/Zn/AZ coming.

Given these magacorps and their powerful, tangled, financial webs’ — mostly their capability to achieve Laurie’s well-identified regulatory capture — just imagine Joe, and his soon-to-be-POTUS running mate, either of whose every word and move would be a direct result of the foregoing mechanical/political pulling of the operative puppet strings.

GatorGuy in reply to GatorGuy. | July 5, 2020 at 1:12 am

      Not Laurie’s, sorry; that’s Valerie’s well-identified regulatory capture.

      Good night, all.

New insights on the antiviral effects of chloroquine against coronavirus: what to expect for COVID-19?

The multiple molecular mechanisms by which chloroquine can achieve such results remain to be further explored. … preliminary data indicate that chloroquine interferes with SARS-CoV-2 attempts to acidify the lysosomes and presumably inhibits cathepsins, which require a low pH for optimal cleavage of SARS-CoV-2 spike protein

With the likes of Joy Behar and her ilk suggesting that HCQ is a death sentence, this study comes too late. Her falsehoods fly in the face of routine malaria prophylaxis with HCQ: at any given time, it’s in use by millions (I myself routinely use it whenever I am in Malarial regions). How many have believed, refused HCQ, and died? The truth is too late: it can’t bring them back now.

“Get back in the fight: pick up your weapon, soldier; aim, and shoot to kill,” ordered 1LT Richard Winters, CC, E/2B/506 PIR, during a moment of soldiery diffidence, overcome, at the Brecourt Manor Assault on 6 June 1944, as depicted in Band of Brothers.

Whiskey-Tango-Hotel, I know how you must feel; it’s understandable. But there really is no option, brother, other than to fight this one with all you got, with your proud sibs — and win!

The alternative’s dreadfully possible consequence will leave you feeling worse — if you’ll be able to feel anything at all; being numb or worse, I mean. Feel yourself capable, and strong.

Just join in, keep at it, and enjoy the company. This way, we’ll all start earning the only result that pays: keeping our country, rescuing her from being wiped out; and both she and we’ll have you to thank in part.

We’re all with you, bro; your country’s counting on you, among the many, many others. Be proud to fight in this one — it’s for keeps!

Lousy insurance company made me change to an alternate drug for neuropathic pain. Turns out, I have a bad allergic reaction to that drug. I stopped taking it but now I seem to have permanent eczema. Thank you insurance company.

Does taking a zinc supplement by itself have any prophylactic value?

Aside from malaria, it has been given for decades for lupus and rheumatoid arthritis – in dosages higher than for Covid and for years and years, instead of 5 days for Covid. One Lupus doctor on TV said that he had never had a patient with a serious side effect.
