California Faculty Association Demands Free Tuition for All Black, Native, and Indigenous Students
“redress for systemic anti-Black racism in the CSU”
With all the money lost due to the Coronavirus crisis, it’s hard to see how any school could afford such a thing.

California faculty demands ‘free tuition for all black, native, and indigenous students’
The California Faculty Association released a statement in light of George Floyd’s death and recent protests. The group also created a list of demands for California State University that it says will provide “redress for systemic anti-Black racism in the CSU.”
The CFA demanded CSU “provide free tuition for all Black, Native, and Indigenous students.” Trends show that enrollment of these students has been decreasing within the CSU system. To increase admission of these “marginalized students,” the CFA proposes that the universities make efforts “to overturn Proposition 209, the ban on affirmative action.”
According to the CFA, “racial pay equity” is necessary because “workload is also higher for Black faculty given that CSU faculty are majority-white, and CSU students are majority of color resulting in ‘cultural taxation.’”
The CFA claimed that the research and studies conducted by Black faculty are “often not valued at the same level as other faculty.”
To “condemn white supremacy,” the CFA proposed that hiring and retention practices be reformed to mandate that “there be Black faculty available to serve as reviewers for Black faculty candidates.” The introduction of “targeted hiring programs” is necessary “to promote and develop the scholarship and creative activity of Black faculty,” the CFA insisted.

Why are liberal institutions so uniformly racist?
How does cultural taxation work? And why would workload for black faculty be higher than white faculty? None of that makes any sense.
They claim that they do “invisible” work, such as advising minority students, because apparently white professors can’t advise minority students.
Point One
A black Nigerian should get free tuition, correct?
Clearly, a Union soldier’s (who died in combat)descendants are far more worthy.
Point Two
The hiring committee would enforce correct thinking.

What’s the difference between native and indigenous people?
I think by “indigenous” they mean indigenous to somewhere else. Which one would think includes everyone, but I think they mean to exclude those whose ancestors migrated from one place to another a long time ago but within historical time. (Those whose ancestors migrated before written history, which is everyone, don’t count because there’s no record.) Or something.
If they feel it is so important for those who were gifted a high school diploma and are not qualified to do college level work to waste their time and the professors time, let them pay for it!
Their solution to historical racial discrimination is………
More racial discrimination!!
If they value giving free tuition to certain students, they should be willing to forfeit part of their salaries for this worthy cause. If it’s not worth them giving up some of their salaries for it, then it’s not a serious proposal.
Notice how the “woke” leftist groups always want someone else to sacrifice their income or their jobs for some sort of cause, but they never want to make any kind of personal sacrifice?
The state is trying to bring back affirmative action by nullifying Prop 209.
I wonder how much of that, if true, is because black faculty are concentrated in areas like angry studies, which no sane person values.
You’ve got it. Though even in other fields it could simply be that on average the research and studies they do happen to be of below-average value. After all, not all research or studies are the same, or of equal value. Some are either false or just not that important, and it could be that, for whatever reason, in the sample tested black faculty members produced more of these on average than did non-black faculty members.
This only makes sense if one assumes that all students who are “of color” are being taught by “black faculty”, while all non-black faculty (including those who are of colors other than black) are teaching only students of pallor. Which is a nonsensical assumption.
I’m pretty sure even of Prop 209 were repealed, this would be against federal law.
Somewhere in some dark, dank basement chained to their fridge full of Hot Pockets is a furtive, sweaty, enraged SJW coining and distributing terms like ‘racial pay equity’ & ‘cultural taxation’.
Note that the Black demands are high and hiding inside the use of POC demographics.
Blacks make up less than 6% of Californians. Perhaps a bit more in the college demo.
Hispanics account for 40%.
So the Black faculty are trying to parlay the big POC numbers into Black advantage.
