Truckers Gathering in California as #PeoplesConvoy Prepares Journey to D.C
Pentagon expected to OK National Guard for DC in response to convoys.
Facebook may have taken down its Twitter page, but American truckers are poised to hit the gas on their protest convoy to the nation’s capital.
Inspired by the Canadian #FreedomConvoy, American truckers gather in Southern California Wednesday morning to begin a cross-country journey that should place them in the Washington, DC area in early March.
Organizers are hoping to have 1,000 semi-truck drivers in their ranks by Wednesday, when a group calling itself the People’s Convoy leaves Adelanto to begin a scheduled 11-day trek to Washington, D.C. The convoy is expected to arrive in early March, which could disrupt traffic near the Capitol around the March 1 State of the Union address.
Inspired by the Freedom Convoy in Canada, the People’s Convoy protesters insist that “government has forgotten its place” and that COVID-19 vaccination and mask mandates are unconstitutional stretches of power.
As the Omicron surge of the coronavirus has receded across the U.S. and more states begin to lift mask mandates, similar caravans and blockades have started to pop up across the globe.
Among the messages the truckers which to send is a Biden-era classic.
On Tuesday, a small number of truckers began gathering at the Adelanto Stadium, where like-minded conservative groups huddled. Their rigs were decorated with stars and stripes and messages including “Let’s Go, Brandon” — a common phrase to deride President Joe Biden.
Trucker Mike Landis, who said he supports coronavirus safety precautions, said the protest isn’t for the truckers, it’s “for the people — hence the name the people’s convoy.”
“(The) fact is we have a government that tries to push us around,” Landis said. “At this moment, we are living without our Constitution. Our Constitution means nothing right now.”

It appears that other convoys will be joining as the big rigs make their journey across the country.

Washington DC plans to greet the convoys with open arm…aments.
The Pentagon is expected to approve the deployment of 700 to 800 unarmed National Guard troops to the nation’s capital, a U.S. official said Tuesday, in the face of trucker convoys that are planning protests against pandemic restrictions beginning next week.
The District of Columbia government and the U.S. Capitol Police are requesting the National Guard assistance. The troops would be used largely to help control traffic and are expected to come from the district’s National Guard and three states, said the official, who spoke on condition of anonymity to discuss aid not yet formally approved.
Here’s hoping that all the truckers have learned from what happened during the January 6th protests and are on the lookout for infiltrators and government agents wanting to entrap and incite.

I’m willing to entertain the thought that this is a set-up all the way. Soros/DOJ inspired. A trap.
What owner/operator can afford to take time off to travel across the continent, at his/her expense (gas, food, plus other out-of-pockets). Plus the time to return once the protest/rally is over.
This strikes me as an idea from the same file drawer as the Jan 6 insurrection. Like the Jan 6 mess its organizers as advertising this thing as widely as a Ron Popeil veg-o-matic commercial.

You are not wrong. A much more effective tactic would be a variation on the old sit-down strike. They need to park those rigs for as long as it takes to do away with the mandates. See? They have a stated goal that is achievable. Not some “we’ll burn down the city until everybody shows us love!”
I think that is the plan. Eight rigs, four abreast and perpendicular to traffic flow would strangle DC…and never be in DC.

Sometimes people in California seem to think that the whole country lives under the same oppressive liberal dominance as they do. As far as I know I’m not currently facing any governmental requirements related to Covid. But then my weather’s not as nice.
The people behind the convoy are demanding an end to the Biden emergency declaration, but to what purpose? Are there any specific federal requirements they want to remove?
I could support them but they need to give me something concrete to work with because they are going to piss off a lot of people if they shut down interstates.

Let me add that the Canadian truckers had a just cause. The quarantine restrictions at the border were crippling and absurd.
I support the truckers but my advice would be to avoid doing anything that Biden would use as a pretext to act like Trudeau
I don’t live under any restrictions where I am either, other than not being willing to deal with air travel. However, I fully support these truckers and I hope they get everything they want.

I’m a bit confused now. This is another convoy? My understanding was that the trucker convoy was already in Ohio or some such.
There are several convoys forming in different parts of the US that plan to converge in DC. That gets the most people from the most places involved. There are going to be cheering crowds all along the way. Reminds me of Martin Luther’s trip to the Vatican to explain himself to the Pope and cardinals where he was expected to be condemned to death. He was greeted as a hero in towns all along the way becoming an untouchable legend by the time he arrived in Rome. The Vatican was cowed into merely condemning him and sending him back on his way.
I can’t think of a better way to demonstrate to the pinheads who run things (especially the Republican squishes) how unpopular the Uniparty establishment truly is. Sure, go ahead and arrest these guys and confiscate their trucks, bank accounts and whatever. Anyone who doesn’t believe we can have a civil war in this country needs to pay attention. It has already started and we have not yet been fighting back.
This gets the entire country engaged in the big discussion. At least we have confirmation about the true dark nature of our government and institutions. Where are all the “from my cold dead hands” poseurs? The “die standing and not kneeling” poseurs? When exactly is that supposed to happen? I like the trucker convoy idea better.

I would love to see a certain rotten city be put out of sight out of mind, protesting there does nothing for our cause, gets good people arrested and helps Democrats try somewhere else for a change.

No, it doesn’t change my opinion at all, I can’t speak for Danny. Turdeau was looking at a possibly very embarrassing refutation from his senate up there, so he withdrew. But don’t think for a moment that he won’t spin the fascism up immediately if challenged again.
1. Now that he knows the house of commons will back him, and he could just withdraw the motion before defeat in the senate what exactly prevents him from re-asserting the fascism next protest against himself?
2. There was a lot of skepticism of him, and of the house of commons approving his state of emergency in the senate, and the possibility the senate would negate the emergency was a real one.
3. Name one good thing that comes from going into D.C. I could name good things about a family friendly protest in Wisconsin, or PA, or other swing states such as flipping the governors mansions immediately removing a wide variety of restrictions in those states, or the possibility of influencing senate elections for the better. You on the other hand can’t name why it is so important to give the FBI a field day.

I don’t see the NG replacing the movement of all that stilled merchandise.
1) This is probably a trap. Remember, our Federal government learned a lot from the KGB’s 5th Directorate during the Cold War, especially the Democrats.
2) It is pretty much guaranteed that somewhere along the line Federal troops or police, or political auxiliaries will attack truckers causing casualties. This is for the purposes of both creating justifications to crack down on Americans in general and to intimidate the American people. There will be no official blame attached to any Federales ever and the casualties will be Ashli Babbitt in spades.
3) Allow me to toss out a thought about supply chains. With the Canadian government at war with Canadian truckers, including seizing all their assets without due process or trial, how enthusiastic do you think the trucking industry there is going to be about making deliveries? You think that might affect supply chains, industrial production, and how full store shelves are?
Now consider what the equivalent feelings by truckers here in the US would be after a Federal massacre. Y’all may want to make sure your pantry is full.

Maybe. X many rigs either at home or driving to DC over the course of ten days or so is a lot of capacity unavailable to move product. That plus some media coverage raises awareness of the goals of those staging this protest.
Staying away from DC as a destination is imperative. By all means drive to the outer loop and do a days worth of laps on the surrounding Interstate bypass but don’t go to the Capital and park. That’s inviting disaster. As long as these folks are friendly, cheerful and law abiding then no worries. The moment some hothead gets into it with some over aggressive LEO or bystander all nets are off. This needs lots of risk minimization and mitigation to be successful. Parking in DC and using air horns will be unhelpful and likely considered belligerent.
DC shouldn’t be the target in the first place. At this point most of the illegal mandate BS is happening at the blue state govt level. Going to DC is just playing into the Fed/media hands with little or no return on investment.
All Biden has to do to neutralize the convoy to DC is wait until they commit themselves and say “OK, Federal Emergency over”… which will change absolutely nothing on the ground but will take the perceived wind right out of their sails.
If the truckers want to use their time and gas money effectively they need to be targeting the things they can actually change, the draconian state regulations (most of the Fed ones have been or are being neutered in court already).
So take the convoys to the point(s) where they can actually do some good. Target the capitals of states that still have mandates and such. Off the top of my head I can recommend NY, Mich, and Ca.. I’m sure they can come up with a few more. But protesting their state govts will have a much higher impact than wasting their time and making targets of themselves in DC.
There’s some truth to that. However, these blue State/City/County govts rely upon CDC guidelines to justify their actions.
As far as targeting goes this should be about messaging and creating a platform to voice that message during the movement. They shouldn’t be tempted to come into DC and park; that’s a disaster waiting to happen.
Perhaps a way to expand the duration is upon leaving DC that various regional groups in the mass of trucks converging on DC coordinate to drive around the blue State Capitals on the way home. That gets State and local media coverage to reinforce national coverage.
CDC horsecrap ‘guidelines’ aren’t going to save the politicians from the voters or their offices from lawsuits.
Realistically, there isn’t going to be a single message, or rather certainly not one the truckers want, especially after the feds and the media get done with massaging what joe the plumber sees on TV. They have had 3 weeks watching the Canadians and honing their skills.
Yes, there will be the self publishers/broadcasters and such online, but that’s no way to coordinate a single effective message either. On the other hand, just how many disciplined and on-message trucks do you need to fill a camera lens anyway? Or how many are needed to slow traffic enough to have an effect that people notice?
As to the tactics themselves, one thrust is easy to outflank, cut up, and defeat in detail. Maybe eight entirely different state capital objectives makes it much harder to identify, locate, and react to all, especially if the Feds try to get involved and try to run the show.
I’m just saying that from initial appearances this could have been thought out and planned better rather than hey diddle diddle straight up the middle.planned much better.
Biden doesn’t have the capacity for strategic thinking. He just says what his puppetmasters tell him to say.
