NYC City Councilman: Blame Racism, Not Riots, for Post-Riot Coronavirus Uptick

NYC City Councilman: Blame Racism, Not Riots, for Post-Riot Coronavirus Uptick

In February, this is the same person who told people to go to Chinese New Year celebrations: “If you are staying away, you are missing out!”

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E-yN55KOkVQ

According to Mark Levine, Chair of New York City Council health committee, if there’s an increase in coronavirus cases following the violent riots, racism will be to blame.

And also cops, who by attempting to quell the riots will have helped to spread COVID-19.

Which mirrors a sentiment expressed in the NYT, wherein they blamed tear gas for any potential increase in COVID-19 cases. I’m not saying Levine ripped his terrible opinion from the NYT, but I am saying they both offered the same terrible opinion.

Levine is the same genius who stood in a “powerful show of defiance of #coronavirus scare” when he attended the Lunar New Year celebration in NYC’s Chinatown in February.

If you tick the right boxes, you can’t be held responsible for your actions.

We really need to set aside a new country to house this kind of stupidity.

I could make a joke about the last election and our aversion of a disaster of the worst first female POTUS, but I think you might have actually liked your lunch.

Diversity? Quite possibly. Viruses are looking for the expression of certain genetic and behavioral patterns when selecting sanctuary bodies. The infection is not diversitist, but its progress may be.

More the typical guilt-ridden hand-wringing sniveler in the image of a Woody Allen character. I’ll leave it at that.

Hmm, It’s almost like they never cared about stoping the virus and only cared about achieving political objectives and gaining control the whole time. Who could have guessed…

Here in the Boston area we have numerous protests from noon until dark+ every single day and our Mayor and Governor who shamed every person looking to go back to work or go to the beach or attend a family gathering say absolutely nothing.

Hmm, It’s almost like they never cared about stoping the virus and only cared about achieving political objectives and gaining control the whole time. Who could have guessed…

“Levine is the same genius who stood in a “powerful show of defiance of #coronavirus scare”. Satan protects his own.

The money spent on people is usually inversely proportional to their social worth.

This guy is just another liberal Progressive Loon. Nothing to see her, move along.

On a side note, I find it interesting the effect that these NYC riots have on the residents of that city. It is instructive to watch Greg Gutfield, on Fox News’ The Five. He used to appear as a liberal-leaning New York resident. While initially being critical of the demonstrations, he appeared to be empathetic to the purported underlying cause. However, when his neighborhood was looted earlier this week and his residential building came under attack by the rioters/looters/demonstrators, while he huddled helplessly inside, he became a ravening law and order conservative, literally over night. It makes one wonder how many other liberals, in these big cities, have changed sides due to these “protests”.

    Massinsanity in reply to Mac45. | June 4, 2020 at 2:28 pm

Not nearly as many as are being shamed in supporting the riots/protests particularly among the young. People are being watched on social media… what are you posting, did you post the blank image earlier this week, are you liking the “right” content, are you attending the local student protest (they have popped up in every lily white suburb in the greater Boston area), etc.

There is tremendous pressure on our young people to conform to the leftist narrative.

Social media is poison. Keep your kids away from it for as long as you can.

The b.s. never stopped flying, and it never will.

We are at war.

They forgot to blame Heteropatriarchy.

2smartforlibs | June 4, 2020 at 2:05 pm

These people are such empty vessel how do you vote for them? I have yet to see a virus burn a building.

“White Supremacists” Derek Chauvin (White), J. Alexander Kueng (Black), Thomas Lane (Hispanic) and Tou Thao (Asian) face charges in the death of George Floyd.

In that case, can we go back to our normal lives again, as long as we promise not to use tear gas on each other, recreationally or otherwise?

BierceAmbrose | June 4, 2020 at 2:27 pm

“Blame Racism…”

So, somebody’s making a vaccine keyed to African populations genomes? I hand’t heard of that.

/que the crystal meth / AIDs racial conspiracy theories.

BierceAmbrose in reply to BierceAmbrose. | June 4, 2020 at 2:35 pm

    Conspiracy Theories…

Fer bog’s sake … (Also, all the triggerings, below. So, if yr easily triggered, maybe stay away from the damn horse.)

The best white supremacist nationalists can do is a dozen LARPING cosplay Nazis with tiki torches — they can’t even stage a layup PR event without covering themselves in blow-back. (Eeeeew.) Yet, somehow, these same people are gonna orchestrate a world-wide racial health care hack, w beyond the state of the art biotech, to get at the mud people.

BierceAmbrose | June 4, 2020 at 2:42 pm

Here’s a thought…

Discrimination based on race depends on identifying individual people by race.

Maybe we could prevent racialized health care delivery by not tracking people’s “races” in their health records.

Something similar might work in eduction, economic development and even politics. (How do you know to give them the hard poll test, or the crappy drugs, if ya don’t know they’re black?)

Milhouse in reply to BierceAmbrose. | June 4, 2020 at 5:00 pm

Thing is, in health care you actually do have to know someone’s racial makeup, in order to know how to treat them.

BierceAmbrose in reply to Milhouse. | June 5, 2020 at 5:16 pm

Allow me to flambe that straw man (of whatever color straw, of course):

*Sometimes* it’s *useful* to know someone’s “racial” makeup as an *assumed proxy* for their genome, in order to treat them better for a specific presentation, condition, or circumstance. That is, when we don’t have anything better.

More weakly, and unspoken because unspeakable, what’s known as “race” is also used to proxy for circumstances n behaviors that lead to gene expressions, cause direct problems, or both: the observable is claimed to correlate with these, though not out loud.

We can do better these days. Let’s.

BierceAmbrose | June 4, 2020 at 2:45 pm

…Blame racism.”

— Mark D. Levine (@MarkLevineNYC) June 3, 2020

“Racism” isn’t a person who did something dumb or wrong, nor a particular behavior or event you can maybe do something about. So, sure blame “racism”, because this guy would rather have the issue, than progress.

Jackhole.

When you elect morons to office, they appoint morons to help them screw up the municipality. If you don’t like racism…you don’t like lockdowns, you don’t like division…stop voting Democrat!

The Los Angeles mayor (garcetti) and the city council just paid the ransom – and capitulated to a fascist remake of the city government:

Los Angeles is cutting $100M–$150M from LAPD budget to be “reinvested in black communities and communities of color”
“American society is founded on a racial hierarchy, one that is born out of slavery, followed by Jim Crow segregation and corporate abuse of labor. As such, police departments are asked to enforce a system of laws that are designed to reinforce and maintain economic and racial inequality.”
