Appeals Court Orders Molotov Cocktail Lawyers Back to Jail

Reverses District Court release on bail

Two Brooklyn-based lawyers facing federal charges for allegedly throwing Molotov cocktails into a NYPD cruiser during the riots are back in federal custody after an appeals court reversed the bail decision.

Mary covered the original story earlier this week:

Two Brooklyn lawyers face federal charges after allegedly throwing Molotov cocktails into an NYPD cruiser during the riots.

Colinford King Mattis, a Princeton graduate and associate at Pryor Cashman LLP, and human rights lawyer Urooj Rahman are accused of throwing the cocktail into the unoccupied car.

Federal prosecutors charged them “with causing damage to a police vehicle by fire and explosives.”

The New York Daily News published a picture of Rahman, who used a Bud Light bottle as the device:

Rahman hurled the bottle, which was filled with gasoline, into the cruiser. But the Bud Light Molotov cocktail failed to ignite, law enforcement sources said.

Cops gave chase and stopped Mattis’ van nearby on Willoughby St. They found the makings of another Molotov cocktail in the back seat along with a gasoline container, authorities say.

Mattis and Rahman have never been arrested before. Mattis also serves on the Community Board 5 as “vice chairman of the by laws committee and serves on the housing and land use committee headed by prominent activist Viola Plummer.”

They will be arraigned today “before a federal magistrate in United States District Court in Brooklyn, and it could not be determined if they have lawyers representing them yet.”

What? Some sanity in the legal arena of NY? I find it hard to believe that De Blazio didn’t order them released and given keys to the city.

They are, after all, his kind of people.

Sometimes the bad guys lose. Sometimes.

Fortunately, they broke a federal law and are being prosecuted by the Trump DOJ. I’m pretty sure that their are state and city laws against using Molotov cocktails against the police, but those prosecutors won’t do anything against progressive fascists.

Sorry: I should have read the comments first. You were about 4 hours ahead of me.

In fact the arresting officers are likely in job trouble. That is how bad it is. I don’t think the city will survive Mutt and Jeff, Cuomo and DeBlasio. I expect sane corporations and finance managers to leave ASAP, like the manufacturers upstate had to do, and the very rich did. NYC is a city of non-Americans slowly disintegrating into a South American/Muslim/African slum, pretending to be the cultural center of…absolutely nothing. Its only culture is hatred of America and capitalism.
It is a third world hell hole.
We asked our daughter to leave years ago when we sensed the social disintegration and pandering, and she is now extremely happy she did so.

Yeah, why not? We’d have a full slate of affirmative action characters, judge, defendants, defendants’ lawyers.

We’ll probably never learn. When it’s all been given to them on minimum achievement, and they have no skin in the game, the ingratitude bubbles to the surface quite easily because they know they never deserved any of it.

    Or a Hawaiian judge.

A Hawaiian judge can make up law faster than most people can think. It is simple for the Hawaiian Obama Judges: anti-American? Anti-Bill of rights? Democrat? = You win!

They’ll be the hit of the country club: They’ll call it the Molotov Cocktail Hour.

On the same principle that every doctor should spend some time as a patient, it is salutary that every criminal lawyer should spend some time as a defendant. If they weren’t criminal lawyers before, they are now…

My “spidey” sense says that maybe the DOJ is going to put the squeeze on these two. Could we be looking at the walk up the ladder to the those that sent them out with the Molitov Cocktails in the first place?

I expect this nonsense will continue until clowns like this start finding their own homes, and their parents’ homes, burned to the ground. And then maybe large numbers of them just come up missing, forever.

An article written by the anti-civilizational Urooj Rahman and her compatriots:

https://inthesetimes.com/article/20508/afghanistan-refugees-rise-up-across-europe-athens-vienna-stockholm

Until we give them everything we have, they will not be satisfied.

Katy L. Stamper | June 5, 2020 at 9:07 pm

From the end of the above article:

Samira Shifteh is an Iranian-American activist based in Seattle, who has been working on immigrant and refugee rights for well over a decade, from supporting survivors of intimate partner/family violence to organizing actions against deportations and detention centers.

Suraia Sahar is an Afghan-Canadian activist based in Toronto studying international development at York University.

Urooj Rahman is a Pakistani-American activist and lawyer from Brooklyn, N.Y., who has worked directly with refugees and asylum seekers as a legal advisor while living in Istanbul. Presently she is the policy coordinator for Bob Gangi’s mayoral campaign.

Import trash, become trashy.

    Urooj’s Struggle Continues Regardless.

If I’m overposting, I apologize. Beer will do that to me.

Anyway, I would be EMBARRASSED to be so dull-witted, as to be a maoist, communist, or anything similar.

Completely HUMILIATED and EMBARRASSED. Thank goodness, I have been dumb in my day, but never THAT dumb.

I never thought for a moment that you’re a communist or in sympathy with them.

We’re in the same universe, Urooj is anti-matter.

IIRC democrats have been importing losers into our country for decades for this very purpose.
Losers need democrats in power to continue to leech off the hard working Americans.

Katy L. Stamper | June 5, 2020 at 9:34 pm

Okay, it’s Friday night and I’m having a beer….

So I’m going to ask a non-rhetorical question & provide an answer:

Why are we importing all these damn foreigners that want our way of life, our living standard, but want to kill us/insult us/guilt us into obscurity?

Because, boys and girls, this country has a fundamental conflict between VOTERS and WEALTHY PEOPLE, and Politicians try to address both of said groups’ concerns in order to be elected.

I regret to say this truth, but truth it is.

Most voters are employees or dependents thereof, or on some government program. Most wealthy people have employees. The wealthy people want to pay as little to employees as possible, including all associated costs: pay, taxes, benefits, legal expenses, worker’s comp insurance, etc., etc., etc. They further, like all rational people, want as few headaches from employees as possible, e.g. as little litigation, union slow-walking, and general grief as possible.

Employees, most voters, on the other hand, want as many benefits as they are able to get. Insurance, disability insurance, SECURITY. Employees will vote for politicians who will give them these things or require employers to provide these things.

There are more employees than employers.

So, Employers give politicians money so politicians will provide a path for a generous number of foreigners to work here, because A. they need the money for campaigns, and B. Employers will contribute if they get the headache-free foreign employees they want.

So, politicians get their campaign funds from EMPLOYERS.

On the other hand, politicians need the votes from EMPLOYEES to actually have enough votes at the ballot box. Therefore, politicians constantly provide more and more mandatory benefits and legal rights to employees to give employees a reward for voting for them.

The very incentives employees are given, are the programs making the American employees less and less desirable to the employers, and thus reducing their share of employment in America. Americans are getting a smaller and smaller portion of their own pie, because the cost of their vote keeps going up and up.

Therefore, employers keep greasing the skids to get more foreigners approved to work in America.

The cycle is self-accelerating and self-perpetuating. And Americans need to wake up and SMELL THAT COFFEE.

At the rate Americans are going, there will be 12 Americans employed in America, male and female, and none of them will give a damn about having kids, because the government is giving them everything and why should they invest in the future?

So Americans, either you can completely end legal and illegal immigration for 500 years to end this crap, or let it continue, and continue to see your jobs outsourced to incoming foreigners until you’re a tiny speck of the population here. We’re getting there pretty damn fast.

Q: “Why are we importing all these damn foreigners that want our way of life, our living standard, but want to kill us/insult us/guilt us into obscurity?…”

A: To dilute our voting, and destroy our way of life. The “we” in all this is the swamp/left/islamic axis which includes the GOPe.

Imagine if mccain was still alive?

      Katy L. Stamper in reply to TheFineReport.com. | June 6, 2020 at 5:00 am

Fine, I believe those aspects, the voting dilution, etc., are gravy for those approving of foreigners coming in.

The businesses are tired of Americans and all the regulatory/benefits/legal baggage they come with as employees, as well as the expense.

As there are probably 5 billion people on earth who make less than Americans. If you’re allowed to import them, it’s a never ending opportunity which is actually illusory if you want to live in a decent America.

It’s a good thing smugness ain’t a crime, or they’d be getting 20 to life on those mugshots alone.

So these elite types threw a sorry Molotov cocktail
into police van. Didn’t explode. Thank God.

I’m tired. Tired of being called a bad guy by the really bad guys.

These two elite bomb throwers lawyers caught dead to rights. Roast them!

Read about the D.C. lawyer — a former Obama Administration lackey and SJW Muslim — bailing out her terrorist friend. This woman was put through NYU Law by George Soros’s funding.

I’m sure we’re all shocked that these snakes have no sense of moral probity.

https://pjmedia.com/news-and-politics/victoria-taft/2020/06/04/best-friend-of-nypd-bomber-was-obama-intel-aid-with-ties-to-cair-and-soros-n494873

In NYS, a lawyer who is convicted of a felony is automatically disbarred.

In other words, no action beyond the felony conviction need be taken by the NYS Bar: upon conviction, they are no longer licensed to practice law. If they do, they’re guilty of a crime, whether the NYS Bar formally disbarred them or not.

I’m seeing a lot of GoFundMe and other efforts to help small business owners in riot torn cities rebuild. In the past, I wouldn’t have hesitated to donate. I have even gone out with cleanup equipment and tools, ready to work and rebuild. But now, I must say no. Not until I see the results of the next major elections. If these cities keep electing democrats, sorry, you’re on your own as far as I’m concerned. I will not participate in your Stockholm Syndrome. I won’t spend anymore of my blood, sweat, tears, time, money or effort to help you. Because if you keep voting democrat, your business, your community, your homes will all burn again soon. You’re one msm/dnc/democrat outrage incident away from repeating the 2020 riots.

I am forced to agree about helping people rebuild. While not quite an American Kristallnacht, it comes alarmingly close. Violent leftist mobs motivated by racist hate have been normalized by the MSM/DNC axis, and only a fool would rebuild in the face of this reality. Store owners should not think for one second that the brown shirts won’t come back again (just wait until the police officers are acquitted, as seems likely because of the grandstanding stunt of Minnesota AG Keith Ellison to file 2nd degree murder charges). Get out of the communist hellholes if you want to stay alive.

It’s not just a stunt, Ellison wants acquittal because he wants more riots.

The Friendly Grizzly in reply to FOAF. | June 6, 2020 at 10:36 am

That was my very first thought. He jacked up the charges, and will, no doubt, mau-mau as hard as he can during the hearings and trials to come.

I think Ellison has calculated that he will win either way. If the officers are acquitted he gets the full-scale race war Democrats have been lusting for. If they are convicted Democrats have their very own version of the Soviet Union’s Section 58 (see “The Gulag Archipelago”). Either way Ellison goes on the short list for US Attorney General or the Supreme Court if Democrats seize power this November.

Ellison is a Manchurian Attorney General: a traitor, and in office only to further treason.

They pullled the wool over our collective eyes with obama and that tranny racist slob he tows around. Like the maddoff scam, it only works once every 100 years.

“Bud Light Molotov cocktail failed to ignite”

How many Ivy League lawyers does it take to make a Molotov cocktail? Clearly more than two. Perhaps if the fools/tools used an imported beer bottle?

Disbarment, Prosecution, Conviction and then Real Time…Plus Fines.

If convicted wouldn’t they automatically be disbarred?

While possibly not quite the level of domestic terrorism it’s only a smidgen off.

There must be a market for lawyers Mike these two, somewhere.
BTW, distrust anyone that’s into BudLight.

Btw, relationship advisor (she has no relationship), family advisor (she has no family), weight advisor (she’s fat) and political advisor (who gave us a traitor in obama) Oprah Winfrey is having slobbo Stacy Adams on her show in a one-hour “race” special.

So Stacey Adams is the presumptive and plumbptive VP. Mattis is the general traitor.

And soros is getting nervous:
