UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson was removed from intensive care Thursday evening after being admitted with COVID-19 on Monday. Johnson will remain in the hospital for monitoring.

From NBC:

U.K. Prime Minister Boris Johnson was released from intensive care on Thursday, after being admitted for coronavirus treatment.

“The Prime Minister has been moved this evening from intensive care back to the ward, where he will receive close monitoring during the early phase of his recovery,” a spokesman for No. 10 Downing Street said in a statement to NBC News.

“He is in extremely good spirits,” the spokesman said.

The Conservative Party leader announced on March 27 that he had contracted COVID-19, making him the first major governmental leader known to have contracted the virus.

Johnson, 55, tweeted Monday morning that had been admitted to St. Thomas’ Hospital in London the previous night for “some routine tests” because he was still experiencing coronavirus symptoms. He previously said that he had been tested for the virus after coming down with “mild symptoms,” including “a temperature and a persistent cough.”

On Monday afternoon, a government spokesman said Johnson was moved to the ICU after his symptoms “worsened.”

Dominic Raab, the U.K.’s foreign secretary, has been deputizing for Johnson in his absence.

Trump wished Johnson well:

I hope he was treated with HCQ. That would really explode some heads.

It could be the story of the century if it came out that is what they used.

If they did give him HCQ, it will probably not be mentioned in most news stories.

Trump did send a medical care package to him.

IIRC, the meds he required were NOT available through the National Health Service in Britain. Please correct me if I’m wrong. If I am correct, then President Trump may have saved his life.

A small ray of sunshine on this gloomy outlook.

At what point do we just overthrow the tyrants who are shutting down the whole country for what is still a minor threat to the people?

We may be soon entering a period where our economy will never recover from this because it is exactly stupidity like this that helps usher in new socialistic or communist governments. It becomes a catalyst for revolution.

Are we going to overthrow all 50 governors? All the shutdowns are state directed. Weirdly, all shutdowns are looking the same from state to state…

I don’t think he was ever put on a ventilator, just oxygen. I have seen some reports questioning the need for ventilators on some patients.

Oldgoat – this experience of being shut down may prevent the US going socialistic. Who wants to live under these conditions where you can’t go out, supplies are limited, and some police departments are getting so restrictive.

Given that it seems a goodly chunk of the press works for an adversarial foreign country nowadays, I think we need to see a picture of him sitting up in bed, with a current copy of… do they still sell daily newspapers?

Very pleased with this good news for Britain. Way to go, Boris! A tough guy the world needs.

Keep up the prayers. They are working!

Just added “IF YOU LIKED THE SHUTDOWN, YOU WILL LOVE SOCIALISM” to the meme stack.

One more joins the immune herd and the socialists can’t even get together for a pity me party.
