Sinking Warren: Green New Deal Not Enough, We Also Need a ‘Blue New Deal’

“We got to innovate out of this problem and, also right at the core has got to be environmental justice.”

https://youtu.be/vD9b0oDuras

During a recent campaign stop in Virginia, Elizabeth Warren praised the ‘Green New Deal’ but suggested it just doesn’t go far enough. She also wants a ‘Blue New Deal’ to save the oceans.

This is becoming a familiar pattern for some 2020 Democrats. When they think their campaign is floundering, and Warren’s is, they try to up the progressive ante and push harder left. We saw Beto O’Rourke do this with gun control shortly before he dropped out.

Warren is now doing it with climate change.

Spencer Neale reports at the Washington Examiner:

Warren proposes ‘Blue New Deal’ to ‘save our oceans’

Sen. Elizabeth Warren told a fired-up crowd that she “believes in science” before proposing a “tenfold” increase in science funding if she is elected president.

The Massachusetts Democrat, who struggled in the first two primary contests of the 2020 election season, said the proposed “Green New Deal” does not go far enough to deal with climate change.

“I’m all for a ‘Green New Deal,’ but it’s not enough,” Warren said. “We gotta have a ‘Blue New Deal’ to save our oceans as well.”

Julio Rosas has more at Townhall:

Elizabeth Warren Says the Green New Deal Doesn’t Go Far Enough: We Need a Blue New Deal!

Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) is trying to keep her struggling campaign alive by going all in with the Green New Deal to combat climate change during a campaign stop in Arlington, Virginia, but she said it does not go far enough and proposed another plan to help the world’s oceans.

“Climate change threatens every living thing on this planet. What truly scares me the most is every single time the scientists go out and collects some more data and do some more analysis, the problem is worse than we thought, and we have less time than we thought. That means the urgency of the problem cannot be overstated,” she said on Thursday.

“I am going to increase by 10 fold the money we put into science, basic science, applied science, every part of this. We got to innovate out of this problem and, also right at the core has got to be environmental justice. For decades in this country, this nation has permitted toxic waste dumps, polluting factories, to be located in or next to communities of color,” she continued.

The video is below, and I recommend watching the whole thing. In one surreal moment, Warren proclaims her belief in science and the crowd starts chanting “Sci-ence! Sci-ence!” You can’t help but wonder how these folks would respond if they were asked how many genders there are:

Last week, Democratic strategist James Carville warned Democrats that they need to start talking about issues that appeal to a broader coalition of voters.

It doesn’t appear as though Warren’s campaign got the message.

Democratic Budget Poker:

Sanders: $30 trillion for Medicare for all

AOC: I see your Medicare for all, and am going to propose the most economically unviable $100 trillion Green New Deal ever. (wait for everyone to fold)

EW: I see your Green New Deal, and raise you a Blue New Deal.

Translated from Insanease to English:

“What truly scares me the most is every single time the scientists [my campaign advisers] go out and collects [sic] some more data and do some more analysis, the problem is worse than we [I] thought, and we [I] have less time than we {I}thought. That means the urgency of the problem cannot be overstated,” she said on Thursday.”

You beat me to it…this is an amazing display that Warren is putting on.

The entire country, well not the entire country, just those that still check in on her from time to time, are seeing all of the Democrat’s desperate vote-buying gambits on full display.

She’s not going to stop and bow out until she’s exposed everything and is nary the wiser about doing so.

My only fear is that I’ll die before the November election and I’ll end up as a registered Democrat again…

It says something that she’s campaigning in Virginia instead of South Carolina.

Virginians are proving to be susceptible to liberal oppression such as baby killing and gun control; goo place for Warren to troll for votes.

Assume climate change and ocean damage is very real. What these LDA’s [liberal democratic assholes] don’t seem to grasp is America throwing gobs of money at this is meaningless if ALL THE OTHER COUNTRIES continue their ways and don’t participate in some agreed upon solution.

stablesort in reply to walls. | February 16, 2020 at 11:20 am

Even if every nation in the world participates, nothing will change. There is no problem to solve.

The earth warms and cools. Is she going to stop volcanos and earthquakes as well? Oh wait she’s going to fix the ocean tides.

All of the “solutions” proposed by the politicians are just gigantic wealth redistribution schemes, with the politicians in charge of the kitty. It has absolutely nothing to do with the climate, it’s about money and power. The fact that they’re using words like “social” and “justice” tells you all you need to know.

Worse, all of the schemes the Dems are pushing for Green New Deal and such are wealth *recycling* plans. It goes like this:

      1) Create a company that produces nothing useful other than ‘Green’
      2) Get $x from the taxpayers by way of Senators and Representatives that I’ve contributed to their election funds, AKA bribed.
      3) Proceed to fritter away cash, stash some in secret accounts, reliably donate more money to House and Senate races. Estimate 10% of taxpayer dollars received are paid directly back to my ‘influenced’ representatives. Another 20% is then directed into accounts and companies these representatives favor, some of which are their relatives and minions.
      4) Double down, receiving larger and larger multiples of taxpayer cash with every cycle, and paying larger and larger bribes (contributions).
      5) When the bubble bursts, make sure all records that implicate you are shredded, and all records implicating your favorite representatives are stored in a safe place. Go through bankruptcy, leave a few thousand investors starving in the cold, and say nothing to the press or investigators.
      6) Decide if you’re going to retire and live off your stashed goodies, or run through the process again.

“The interesting thing about the Green New Deal, is it wasn’t originally a climate thing at all,” Chakrabarti said to Inslee’s climate director, Sam Ricketts.
“Do you guys think of it as a climate thing?” Because we really think of it as a how-do-you-change-the-entire-economy thing,” Chakrabarti added.

“One has to free oneself from the illusion that international climate policy is environmental policy. This has almost nothing to do with the environmental policy anymore, with problems such as deforestation or the ozone hole,” said Edenhofer, who co-chaired the U.N.’s Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change working group on Mitigation of Climate Change from 2008 to 2015.
So what is the goal of environmental policy?
“We redistribute de facto the world’s wealth by climate policy,” said Edenhofer.’

    LDA…that’s a keeper!

We’ll have a New Deal for every color of the rainbow! Except orange.

Green New Deal, Blue New Deal. It’s all BS. What they’re really talking about is a Red New Deal. Joe Stalin red. Not a shade lighter.

Her problem will be that much of the public is waking up to the fact that “science” only gets gobs of money from the G when it appears to be a crisis on the horizon. Therefore, one must present every issue as looming disaster or no moola.

Warren’s bottom line is getting her hands on the purse strings where she can control everything.

Meanwhile, back in Casper, WY, people are seeking a solution to the aging wind turbine blade disposal problem.

https://www.bloomberg.com/news/features/2020-02-05/wind-turbine-blades-can-t-be-recycled-so-they-re-piling-up-in-landfills

I believe in science too. I also believe that the only thing that promotes good science is freedom. That means getting government the hell out of it.

I also believe that Warren will never be president and that makes me happy.

Obviously, Warren is an intelligent woman, so she id either ignorant or a liar. Her past dalliance with her ancestry leans heavily toward lying.

I bet she does not have a clue about the science.

Will China and India go along with her plan. China builds 400 coal burning plants a year and India will soon do the same. The US could go entirely solar and it will make no difference, except we will be very poor.

“I am going to increase by 10 fold the money we put into science, basic science, applied science, every part of this.”

does that include basic biology and genetics and XX/XY chromosomal studies? Can we get some REAL science applied to that topic as well?

Now that they believe in science, maybe they can start working on economics.

Massinsanity in reply to mrzee. | February 16, 2020 at 2:46 pm

Don’t worry, AOC via her econ degree from BU and her deep understanding of the economic theories of Milton Keynes has it all covered.

That DNA science thing didn’t work out to well for Liz

JusticeDelivered | February 16, 2020 at 12:08 pm

Warren’s blue deal sounds like she wants American taxpayers to fund cleaning up the mess other countries are making in the ocean. Are we going to clean up behind China, Africa, Japan, etc.?

There are hungry fish out there, we should feed Warren to them. She can do her bit to help those fish.

What we need are fewer wing nuts on the left. The minute something is profitable that ends the issues. Take the pot smokers complaining about cutting down trees last week. Trees have a value so a new tree will replace a tree cut down. Fauxcahontas has yet to show any value.

I hope after she drops out of the Presidential race, Liz Warren stays in the public view. Mocking her has been SO MUCH FUN!

The blue new deal is great but we also need an orange new deal. I bought a quart of orange juice recently and the juice was nowhere near as sweet is I remember it used to be. I am pretty sure this is due to global climate change and acid rain. Warren needs to propose at least a trillion dollars for a program to make oranges sweeter and she will have my vote.

How about the Blue Teal New Deal?

“…the crowd starts chanting “Sci-ence! Sci-ence!” You can’t help but wonder how these folks would respond if they were asked how many genders there are”

Or, more importantly, how would they respond to the scientific fact that a unborn baby is, in fact, a unique human being worthy of protection and the further scientific fact that unborn babies who reach ~22-23 weeks of development are viable and that permitting their termination is an abomination that no civilized society should permit.

How would the chant go then?

the scientific fact that a unborn baby is, in fact, a unique human being worthy of protection

Stop right there. No scientific statement can contain the word “worthy”. “Worthy” is by definition an opinion, not a fact.

      ss396 in reply to Milhouse. | February 17, 2020 at 9:20 am

The ‘unique human being’ is a scientific fact. The ‘unique human being’ is worthy of every Right and protection afforded to every other human being.

Likewise, ‘unborn babies who reach ~22-23 weeks of development are viable’ is a scientific fact. Permitting their termination is an abomination.

Likewise “an abomination that no civilized society should permit”. That is not and cannot be a scientific fact.

Being from Massachusetts is just so embarrassing.

Dukakis, Kennedy, Kerry, Frank, Studds, Romney, Markey, Warren and Pressley.

Hard to believe that many, many years ago we actually elected someone like Ed Brooke to the Senate.

Green and blue. Naive and asphyxiated. Color revolutions.

Sinking Warren

Warren a sinking lying Dim
Far from the peaceful shore
Very deeply stained stained within
Sinking to rise no more

Poor Liz Warren, she doesn’t understand that outside of Cambridge, most people think (and know) that she is a BUFFOON.

Next we’ll have the Yellow New Deal, where we go up and fix the sun to keep it from getting too hot.

She “believes in science”. I don’t. I am a (former) engineer and had more science courses by age 19 than Elizabeth Warren would have in 10 lifetimes. But I don’t believe in science.

I follow scientific principles that are established by observation and experiment, mine and those of others. Not belief. Not polls (the way they justify “climate science” these days.)

Cutting to the chase, “Red New Deal.”

Why don’t they just cut to the chase and promise to make us all trillionaires?

We got to innovate out of this problem

Even if that were true, what dunce thinks this happens on command?

And a Brown New Deal for the feces in many downtown areas. And A Gray New Deal to improve the gray matter of Democrats. Turquoise, Fuchsia, and Charcoal Gray New Deals, because I like the colors.

Warren came up with that Native American scam that made her millions of dollars. It propelled her into the Senate. The idea was brilliant. Evil, but brilliant. Now she she sounds like an idiot. That statement that she is going to have a child transgender pick her Education Secretary was about the dumbest thing I’ve heard. Maybe she was never very smart. Just a sociopath, willing to say or do anything to get ahead.

notamemberofanyorganizedpolicital in reply to Jackie. | February 17, 2020 at 7:16 pm

No quibbles at all sir, but…..

    “sounds like an idiot…”

    LMAOROTF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

She found a scam that worked to her benefit . It has enriched her and her family more than staying a teacher at that school who DID offer her a new contract to teach even though she was VISIBLY pregnant.A contract she dismissed. She then was able to continue that over the years to put her in the position she now finds herself. There are many swamp creatures who have done much of the same to enrich themselves and their families off of hardworking American’s backs. She and they need to go.

notamemberofanyorganizedpolicital in reply to Yamamma. | February 17, 2020 at 7:15 pm

Of all the lies, I think I like the one about her being the first to nurse her baby on the Congress floor.

My goodness, Lizzie would have to had been about 72 years old at least to do that!

Who said DEM Liars don’t Lie BIGGUNS?

You don’t have to ask them how many genders there are. Just ask them how well they do at math. Then ask them why they think they can lecture us about climate science.

You believe in science? Well, here’s what science has to say about it:

The United States saw the largest decline in energy-related CO2 emissions in 2019 on a country basis – a fall of 140 Mt, or 2.9%, to 4.8 Gt,” the International Energy Agency (IEA) reported Tuesday. “US emissions are now down almost 1 Gt from their peak in the year 2000, the largest absolute decline by any country over that period.

Go campaign in China – they love totalitarians there.

Johnny Rebellion | February 17, 2020 at 9:52 am

Can anyone here believe that there are people so brain dead in this country that they would actually support this moron for POTUS? Biden makes out with his granddaughter to get the pedo/pervert vote excited and Buttplug has got the homo/perverts.

Sooo… I always wondered what the bottom of the pandering barrel looked like. Democrats reek of desperation and futility…

Turn off, tune out, drop out Tin Lizzie.

Game over. You lose.
