Or at least I can’t.

Back in 2007, Bloomberg appeared on stage dressed as a male Mary Poppins. Whether or not the nanny statist parallel here was intentional or accidental, the whole ordeal is just… well, just watch:

/I better not.

Bloomberg is a bit of jerk but that spoof reminds me of what great music emanates from orchestra pits, everywhere fine entertainment is served.

Look for the little mermaid spoof Welcome to NY Sea. It’s way way more cringey.

The whole optic is about control. Being a nanny, and then the comment at the end where he wants to get the whole country to behave. He really does want to micromanage our lives. One thing I can’t stand is someone trying to micromanage me.

1. the GOP is doing record fundraising.
2. They don’t have to hire anyone, merely splice Democrat videos. And the Dems continue to create more each day.
3. Poll: Trump wins 400 EV, greater or less?

    f2000 in reply to tz. | February 17, 2020 at 9:35 pm

While the 400 number sounds nice, there’s at least 150 votes in states that’ll never go for the GOP.

WA, CA, OR, IL, NY, CT, MD, MA, NY, VT … and I’m probably leaving a couple out. Sweeping the in-play states might net around 375 … maybe.

      maxmillion in reply to f2000. | February 17, 2020 at 11:22 pm

It’s hard to believe as recently as 1984 Reagan won all those states when he ran for re-election, losing only Mondale’s home state MN (a state you left off your list that might go there). The landscape has changed a lot since then.

      Petrushka in reply to f2000. | February 18, 2020 at 10:59 am

How many of those are pledged to the winner of the popular vote?

Iolite in reply to Petrushka. | February 18, 2020 at 2:05 pm

Well the threat of suit is looming over that pact agreement. Taking people’s vote that voted for the other party having their vote flipped for their opponent is Anti first amendment.

malclave in reply to Petrushka. | February 18, 2020 at 5:17 pm

None, as far as I know, unless they get more states to sign on. The “national popular vote” laws they’re passing don’t kick in until states with 270 electors sign away their citizens’ franchise.

      GaveUpOnTV in reply to f2000. | February 19, 2020 at 9:02 pm

I’m more optimistic than that. One thing I’m sure of is that Trump will win by a LARGER margin this time. I just hope that we can get lots of videos of them crying and raging after their candidate falls.

We will have to thank Pelosi for her VERY public tearing up of the SOTU speech. That was just stupid and it shows how Trump has got the Democrats RAGING. I wonder if there is any way to figure out how much extra fundraising or how many more votes that swung to Trump? I heard a lot of people complaining that that was NOT what they expected their party to represent.

It’s early in the game at LEAST, but we may be watching one of our GREAT presidents go down in history. And I believe that we will only have MORE to achieve in the future. But as Yogi Berra said, predictions are tough, especially in the future.

The Friendly Grizzly | February 17, 2020 at 9:27 pm

At least he can poke fun at himself. He’s a loathsome man, but I can imagine very few in the political arena who would do this. The last one I can think of is Richard Nixon on Laugh-In.

Katy L. Stamper in reply to The Friendly Grizzly. | February 17, 2020 at 9:52 pm

That was such a fun show! The link you have says they have the episodes on DVD.

That’s not my down vote, but I have a different take. This is a multi-billionaire fantasizing about being the top nanny in a nanny state. He wants to make all of America behave. He’s a totalitarian statist. I hate using the word cringy, but that was one of the most cringy things I’ve ever seen in the world of politics. The more I see of bloomberg, the more I’m convinced he could not buy the presidency even if he spent every last penny of his fortune.

Mini Mike strikes me as the sort who had pin-ups of Stalin and Mao in string bikinis on his bedroom walls when he was growing up.

Bloomberg wasn’t a good mayor, he was a caretaker. A viceroy if you will. To the degree he had success it is because he didn’t rock the boat on his predecessor’s successes.

notamemberofanyorganizedpolicital in reply to rdm. | February 18, 2020 at 8:30 am

        Thanks.

        That’s what I figured out.

Mayor Mini Mike was just COASTING on others’ hard work – like Hillary coasted on others’ work too…….

Iolite in reply to rdm. | February 18, 2020 at 2:08 pm

You mean even a blind squirrel can find a nut once in a while?

farmermom in reply to CKYoung. | February 18, 2020 at 10:36 am

You’ve got it! What’s sad is that his analysis of problems is not off the mark. The trouble is that his solution is him telling everyone what to do!

I’m not so sure he is poking fun at himself.
The man is a narcissist, just like Obama, that thinks they are the greatest thing in the world and no one can do better.
I think he really believes he is magical.

I feel a little sorry for Bloomberg. He was a good mayor, building upon Giuliani’s successes, and, bringing some private-sector efficiency to city government.

Problem is, now, as a Dhimmi-crat candidate, he’s disavowing all the policy stances that made him a successful mayor. I don’t understand why he isn’t running as an Independent. I mean, what successful businessman (and, Bloomberg, the computer terminal, an, the financial services business, are amazing entrepreneurial creations) would ever associate himself with a party so manifestly corrupt, incompetent, infantile and totalitarian as the contemporary Dhimmi-crat Party?

amatuerwrangler in reply to guyjones. | February 17, 2020 at 10:47 pm

Mini-Mike’s candidacy is based on his hatred of DJT. If the Dems had a candidate at the beginning that stood a chance against DJT, Bloomberg would be content to stand in the wings and pump money into the campaign of that candidate. But that candidate does not exist, so he went into DIY mode. And here we are.

He also knows that if he ran as an independent he would split the Dem vote block and insure DJT’s second term, just as Bernie would if he got sidelined by the Dem power brokers and got mad enough to go Third Party. This is what some might call boxed in.

And while I’m here, I’ll just say that Blomberg would fail miserably as a farmer, and if society depended on him and his ilk to eat, we would all starve to death. About a week, maybe two of farming would cause him more work that he has done in his entire life, and probably kill him. He does not look like a guy who could routinely put in 16-18 hour days. And no one a plump as he is should ever disrespect a farmer.

Arminius in reply to guyjones. | February 18, 2020 at 1:50 am

“I feel a little sorry for Bloomberg. He was a good mayor, building upon Giuliani’s successes…”

I have to dispute this. He was really a mediocre mayor. For instance, stop-and-frisk. Under Giuliani the NYPD stopped and frisked 100k people; the DoJ notified the city they intended to charge the city with civil rights violations. Giuliani successfully defended the city and Eric Holder (oddly enough) agreed there were no civil rights violations.

Because Giuliani and the NYPD could make a probable cause case for each and every one of those stops, and at that level the NYPD could afford to assign only veteran patrol officers who knew what to look for to the program.

Bloomberg who, based upon his comments about farmers, factory workers, and women isn’t very bright despite his business success, increased the number to 600k. Because if a little is good, mini Mike thought, a lot must be better. But to meet that target they had to throw rookies at the program because mini-Mike really did think it was just a matter of “throwing minority kids against a wall and frisking them.” No longer could the city articulate probable cause for each and every decision to stop and then to frisk.

Now the moron is apologizing for the program as if the program was entirely wrong. When the only thing wrong with the program was putting Bloomberg in charge of it.

MaggotAtBroadAndWall | February 17, 2020 at 10:12 pm

He doesn’t need a box to stand on if he ever decides to debate anybody. He can levitate. And fly.

Que the white knight riding in to rescue them from Bernie.

notamemberofanyorganizedpolicital | February 17, 2020 at 10:32 pm

Is Mini Mike to blame for this?

“Nevada Officials Worry Caucus Results May Be Delayed – Stacy Abrams Wants VP Position….”

Nevada Democrat Club officials are warning voters the results from the caucus may be delayed due to “technology glitches” in the planned use of “custom Google calculator” that will be deployed to calculate the results.

Yeah, nothing suspicious about Big Tech working with Big Club party bosses, at all. Move along, move along… Trust them Bernie, it’ll all be fair and stuff, swear….”

Superciliosity is Bloomberg’s superpower
Though he’s only five-foot-eight he’s in an ivory tower
Everywhere he goes he is the munchkin of the hour
Supercilifragilisticexpialimouer!

How can you take anyone like this seriously? I swear, the left has gone beyond just merely insane, they are nearing the point of running around the woods naked and howling at the moon insanity.
Cringe worthy.
This should be tweeted around with the words Presidential Material?!?

Eastwood Ravine | February 17, 2020 at 11:36 pm

Stick a fork in him, Bloomberg’s done. He may not realize it yet, but the only role he’ll play is causing a brokered convention where he’ll never receive the nomination. The Democrats are screwed either way, but the worse outcome for them is Bernie not receiving the nomination and his supporters sitting on their hands out of spite in the general election.

But as a Trump guy, what do I care.

A brokered convention Is the worst of all works, because SOMEONE will go home with their ego mightily bruised, Bernie or other.

Tom Servo in reply to rdm. | February 18, 2020 at 6:45 am

Tucker wondered if Bloomie could win a brokered convention by asking Moochelle to be his VP candidate.

I don’t see Bernie’s supporters sitting on their hands full of cement milkshake cocktails, billy clubs, and incendiary devices. The majority of the extremists in the Democratic party consists of his base.

GaveUpOnTV in reply to Eastwood Ravine. | February 19, 2020 at 8:36 pm

Bloomberg doesn’t have any CHARISMA. I don’t ever see him LAUGH or SMILE. I guess when you have 40 billion, you don’t have to pretend you are happy.
Trump on the other hand, HAS charisma. He has some passion. He can laugh, and it’s sincere. AND he is comfortable with EVERYBODY.
And I guess that they were friends, before Trump was president. I kind of doubt Trump will be getting any more Christmas cards from Bloomberg after this election. And I know Trump won’t give a damn, either. .

GaveUpOnTV in reply to Eastwood Ravine. | February 19, 2020 at 8:46 pm

I KNOW. Isn’t it just a good time to BE ALIVE?!
I hope there are a LOT of films and pictures of the upset and heartbroken Democrats after their slander and lying doesn’t work and Trump gets re-elected with MORE votes. It’s going to be EPIC !

First the stop and frisk, then the harassment charges, insulting farmers and factory workers and now this … not a good week for Mini Mike.

    GWB in reply to bw222. | February 18, 2020 at 9:11 am

And yet, he’s pulling even with Bernie in some polls.
The problem in America is NOT our politicians, it’s our electorate.

Nanny Bloomberg would insist on teaching Jane and Michael Banks (oh,dear!) the song “Just a Sixteenth of a Spoonful of Sugar Makes the Medicine Go Down – but It Will Make You Fat, and Just Might Kill You.”

Well, that was…. uncomfortable.

As much as the media covered for Obama, and in the early days of this campaign for Biden, I have to wonder who is digging up all this wonderful wonderful stuff on Bloomberg? Is it coming from the right, or are Dems scuttling him? The Bernie Bros? I’m just interested to know the sources. If the left is doing it, that makes it twice as delicious.

It’s quite the contrast we have in the upcoming November election, isn’t it.

On the one hand we have the Daytona 500, Fly bys by the Thunderbirds or Blue Angels, now Air Force One, The Beast on the high banked oval, lower taxes, lower unemployment, a goal of border security, a President who will play hard ball with dictators like the CHICOMs.

On the other hand we have Mary Poppins and The Village People, who would kill NASCAR, commercial aviation, not to mention killing the economy, who promise higher taxes, higher unemployment, open borders thus higher crime, but with more gun control we’d be less able to defend against it, and who will roll over for dictators like the CHICOMs (mini-Mike has already done it; when the CHICOMs complained about the reporting about the CHICOMs by Bloomberg L.P.’s media corporations, Bloomberg responded by telling his news companies cease and desist any reporting the Chinese might find offensive).

Yup. Quite the contrast.

Bloomberg Poppins… practically pathetic in every way

amwick in reply to malclave. | February 18, 2020 at 6:47 am

Someone in the twitterverse called him mini poppins..

What frightens me is that he successfully managed to get the NYC rule about term limits changed so he could have a third term.

Well, he does think he’s practically perfect in every way.

In your self-righteous arrogance Mike, you do not realize that you are not a tenth the man Trump is. To improve would take self-awareness — something you completely lack.

If you’re old enough to remember, the Trump campaign ad writes itself.

Visual – Bloomie flying on the wire.
Music – the Mighty Mouse Theme
Lyrics – Here I come to save the day; Mighty Mike is on the way.

“Maybe I can get the whole country to behave.”

How very totalitarian of him.

So Mini Poppins thinks that he can teach anyone to farm? I’d like to see him write down just what he would teach his students they would be doing every day. Aside from 1. Dig a hole 2 Drop in a seed.3 Cover it up 4 Corn grows. I really need a good laugh today!

GaveUpOnTV in reply to farmermom. | February 19, 2020 at 8:24 pm

Oh, you have to see this political cartoon! Bloomberg is sitting on a milk stool next to a cow. He’s got the pail under the cow. He is saying something like , “Farming is easy ! Watch me” and it’s a BULL he’s putting his hands on and the bulls FACE while this is happening–PERFECT.
It’s like “hold my beer. Watch THIS” !!

Does bloomy have any children???Is he sterile?? Did his wife just kill any babies?? Is this why he hates breeding people??

Do you see Bloomberg with people? He is just AWKWARD. He seems so STILTED. He doesn’t seem to like people much.
