Media Pushes False Narrative That Klobuchar and Buttigieg Are ‘Moderates’

Contrary to all the media hype, Democratic presidential candidates Pete Buttigieg and Sen. Amy Klobuchar are nowhere close to “moderate”

With socialist Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders’ star rising in the Democratic Party and the rampant infighting going on in Democrat circles as to whether or not that’s a good thing, the mainstream media is pushing a new narrative in advance of the upcoming Nevada caucuses, South Carolina primary, and Super Tuesday.

Their message? That Sen. Amy Klobuchar (MN) and former mayor of South Bend, Indiana Pete Buttigieg are “moderate” Democrat candidates that primary voters uncomfortable with Sanders can turn to.

For example, in the run-up to the New Hampshire primary, CNN ran a piece asserting that Klobuchar was “one of the three moderate candidates” including Buttigieg and Joe Biden. Both Buttigieg and Klobuchar were described as “moderate candidates” by NPR after their respective 2nd and 3rd place finishes in New Hampshire.

Vox’s Matthew Yglesias characterized Klobuchar as “the thinking moderate Democrat’s electability candidate.” Last month, Politico stated Klobuchar was a “moderate Minnesotan.”

Here’s a video montage of journalists and liberal commentators alike declaring both of them “moderates”:

But are they? Examinations of their records and statements while on the campaign trail paint a picture that is at odds with this narrative:

In fact, The Washington Examiner discovered Klobuchar “actually voted with socialist Sen. Bernie Sanders 87 percent of the time over the course of her Senate career.” Klobuchar’s own home state newspaper declared: “Across the spectrum, Klobuchar holds positions that until recently were considered the definition of liberalism, and even on the left edge of that definition….Klobuchar has never gotten a rating lower than 85 percent from the ADA. In three years, ADA scored her at 100 percent….These are the ADA scores of a very solid liberal, which is what Klobuchar always has been and still is.”

One review of Buttigieg’s public stances found that “From health care and abortion to guns and immigration, and from the Supreme Court to the Electoral College, the man is decidedly a radical.”

On hot-button issues like gun rights, abortion, and Medicare for All, both Klobuchar and Buttigieg are far to the left of the average moderate/centrist politician.

GUN RIGHTS:

Klobuchar stated during the first Democratic debate last year that mandatory gun buybacks were not actually gun confiscation because gun owners received “offers” from the government to “buy back” their guns. This was well before failed presidential candidate Beto O’Rourke proposed a mandatory gun buyback program just a couple of months later.

Buttigieg is a proponent of so-called “red flag laws” and a nationwide gun licensing system and, like Klobuchar, supports a ban on “assault weapons.”

ABORTION:

On abortion, both Klobuchar and Buttigieg support unrestricted access to abortion during any stage of pregnancy, although Klobuchar stated during a Fox News town hall back in May that “there are limits there in the third trimester that are very important.”

MEDICARE FOR ALL:

Both oppose the Medicare for All plans proposed by Sens. Sanders and Elizabeth Warren, but it’s primarily because they know it would never go anywhere in a Republican-controlled Senate. Klobuchar favors a “public option that expands Medicare or Medicaid” and “improving” Obamacare. Buttigieg has proposed a “Medicare for All Who Want It” plan which is similar to Warren’s and Sanders’ but also gives consumers the option to keep their employer-based or private plans, although in 2018 he was all in on Medicare for All.

While it’s possible the mainstream media is pushing the myth that Klobuchar and Buttigieg are “moderates” simply because they haven’t yet climbed to the tippy top of the socialist flagpole like Sanders and Warren have, that doesn’t mean either of them are ready to break bread and find meaningful compromise with Sen. Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY).

Klobuchar and Buttigieg may sound sane in interviews and during debates in comparison with Sanders and Warren but in reality, they are not moderates. Not at all.

If there’s a D after the name, that’s all I need to know.

Their moderates like Stalin was good old Uncle Joe

FDR. The fool believed he could charm Stalin. Stalin played FDR like a dimestore banjo.

The only brilliant thing FDR did was to appoint Marshall. Marshal was the fulcrum on which everything rested – and he never once thought Stalin was anything less than a monster.

The left even see moderate from where they are.

Peter’s a 2nd generation Red Diaper.

Today’s NPR news quiz show host was mocking Bloomberg while subtly promoting Klobicher/Peter.

The left remains a united front.

How, in this era of obsession with minority status and special rights, ranging from illegal aliens to transgenders, has Mayor Pete’s homosexuality basically escaped all media attention. Why hasn’t the media mentioned his status when touting the political achievements of this guy? Has there ever been another man in a so-called marriage with another man who won a caucus or primary before Pete? One would almost think the media was trying to keep his homosexuality from the public view.

That’s what they are trying to pass as “moderate”.
It tells you everything you need to know about today’s Democrats.

Sure, Buttigieg and Klobuchar are “moderate” in the same way that St. Obama the Infallible slickly (and, falsely) marketed himself as a “moderate” — all three Dhimmi-crats are sufficiently shrewd to understand that, in order to get elected and ultimately promote a radical Leftist agenda, a campaigning Dhimmi-crat must adopt the pretense and illusion of “moderacy.”

So, then-U.S. Senator Obama, during his speech at the 2004 Dhimmi-crat Convention, gave a very nice, well-received speech that hit all the right, mellifluous notes of bi-partisanship and national unity (“There aren’t ‘red’ states or ‘blue’ states; only a United States”). Obama was happy to disown and kick his spite-filled, Jew-hating/America-hating preacher, “Reverend” Wright, to the curb, like an old shoe, when he became a liability. Obama also was happy to play up his white heritage and midwestern roots, and his maternal grandfather’s WWII service. This wonderful, multicultural and unifying rhetoric and ethos was then quickly dispensed-with, once St. Obama had attained the oval office, replaced by his true, embittered and vindictive contempt for rural/conservative Americans, entrepreneurs and Jews (i.e., “bitter clingers;” “you didn’t build that;” “money”/”foreign interests”). And, of course, St. Obama pursued an exceptionally radical Leftist domestic socioeconomic agenda and a predictably incompetent/feckless foreign policy.

Comrade Sanders dispenses with this contrived posturing and artifice, because he doesn’t give a damn who knows if he’s a rabid neo-communist demagogue.

Nothing says Kenyan Hillbilly quite like that Obama attitude.

Pete is the Man (sic) Of The Moment, but he will not get the nomination. His current appeal is based on how comparatively sane he looks compared to Bernie and Lis’Beth (if I am spelling her Indian Name correctly). He’s a White Male and in the “Beat Trump regardless” gang think that is important to Independents somehow. He also has the benefit of being young and handsome ala John Kennedy.

For many on the looney side of Left his gayness is considered a feature, not a bug, and so inconsequential that there’s nothing to report about it in the press or discuss in a debate. Hence their silence on the subject, or at least so they will claim when they are finally called on the matter.

Now, while it IS really inconsequential for most Republican voters as long as he pushes no agenda about it (and he has not so far), there is one voting block for whom gayness is still an important matter, and that block is the Black voting block. Further, his firing of his Black Police Chief and Fire Chief is going to be hung around his neck and set on fire by his opponents if he ever becomes an actual contender. So, the bottom line is that Pete at the head of the ticket will reduce black voter enthusiasm and turn out. Not good and not something the Democrats can afford when Trump is already drawing a bit of Black support.

So, he’ll drop out at the convention; but not because of “Get Bernie” super-delegate cheating, but because of the power of Bloomberg’s checkbook. Fella can make a pretty good chunk of change by endorsing ‘the right little fella’ nudge, nudge, wink, wink.

My prediction is Mike and Hillary from a brokered convention.

Oh, wait! Did I forget to mention Klobuchar? No, I didn’t forget…. I just didn’t bother.

Interesting attitude you have there Joy.

I think its homophobic too!

Joy Behar: ‘Every Single’ Democratic Presidential Candidate Has a Race Problem (includes Mayor Peter of South Bend, IN too.)

When the Dems have lost the Spew…er…View…… IT’S OVER!!!!

If the swine in the corrupt ‘news’ media didn’t lie and sell out our country, what else would they have to do all day?

I guess it’s a matter of what scale you apply the term “moderate” is applied.

Klobuchar and Buttigieg may be “moderate” measured on a scale between the ‘Left’ and the ‘radical Left’.

But the notion that they are measured as “moderate” on the common scale of the 1970’s is utter nonsense.

Methinks its more of a scale of
“Wants to Mass Murder Everyone including Themselves” and
“Wants to Murder Everyone except Themselves and Their Slaves.”

Klobuchar Says English Should Not Be US National Language,
Reversing From Prior Vote

The Christmas card of Mr. and Mrs. Buttgiggig plastered all over the internet might make a few people change their minds a bit.

Mark Steyn said a moderate to a democrat means they just don’t really know anything about them. He was filling in for Rush Friday.

Using BUTTIGIEG and PUSHES in the title says a lot ….

Here in “Minnesoda”, Amy is well known for being a small ball Senator, meaning that she has always avoided controversial issues and cut her chops on little, feel good matters over which the local media gush. Her voting record in the Senate is a different matter which has been generally ignored.

Mayor Pete has two attributes in common with Obama, that are highly valued by Democrat political operatives:

> The ability to make one’s vote a virtue signal against “hate”.

> A blank slate that voters can easily project their policy preferences upon and think he supports them.

And of course, Mayor Pete is not Bernie …

… but the Dems have a billion reasons to decide this Tale of Two Cities by nominating Mayor Bloomin’, who with those billion reasons is out to make his own Green New Deal for the Oval Office.

There is no such thing as a moderate Democrat. End of story. At all. Ever.
