Is Bernie Sanders About to Eat Elizabeth Warren’s Lunch in Massachusetts?

Elizabeth Warren’s placement in the New Hampshire primary was not only awful, but embarrassing for her and her supporters, considering it happened in her backyard. What happens if Bernie Sanders creams her in Massachusetts on Super Tuesday?

This is not out of the realm of possibility.

Joey Garrison reports at USA Today:

Elizabeth Warren neck-and-neck with Bernie Sanders in her home state of Massachusetts, poll finds

Sen. Elizabeth Warren is in a fight to win her home state of Massachusetts, according to a new poll released Friday that shows her down 1 percentage point to national frontrunner Sen. Bernie Sanders in the state’s Democratic presidential primary.

The poll, conducted by YouGov for the University of Massachusetts Lowell Center for Public Opinion, found Warren with support of 20% of likely Democratic primary voters in Massachusetts, trailing Sanders’ 21%.

They are followed by former South Bend, Indiana, Mayor Pete Buttgieg, 15%, former Vice President Joe Biden, 14%, former New York Mayor Mike Bloomberg, 12%, Minnesota Sen. Amy Klobuchar, 9%, Rep. Tulsi Gabbard, 3%, and businessman Tom Steyer, 2%. Four percent said they were undecided.

The poll, an online survey of 450 voters, was taken from Feb. 12 to Feb. 19 – before Warren’s standout performance in Wednesday’s Democratic debate in Las Vegas. Sanders’ lead is within the poll’s 6.1% margin of error.

Bernie Sanders obviously sees an opening here and he is acting on it. He just announced that he is going to hold a rally in Boston on Saturday.

Anthony Brooks writes at WBUR:

Challenging Warren On Her Home Turf, Sanders Plans Rallies In Massachusetts Ahead Of Super Tuesday

Sensing an opportunity for a win on Senator Elizabeth Warren’s home field, Vermont Senator Bernie Senator plans to hold rallies in Massachusetts ahead of Super Tuesday, when 14 states and one U.S. territory vote in presidential primaries. According to his campaign, Sanders will rally Friday night in Springfield, and Saturday on Boston Common.

The announcement comes on the heels of a recent poll that found Sanders and Warren in a virtual tie for first place among Democratic primary voters in Massachusetts. According to the survey, conducted by the UMass Lowell Center For Public Opinion, 21% of respondents said they supported Sanders, and 20% said they supported Warren.

The Sanders campaign says that over the past weekend, it hosted more than 60 active volunteer sites across the state, and knocked on more than 50,000 doors.

During the debate in South Carolina last night, Elizabeth Warren went after Michael Bloomberg again, much as she did in Nevada. If she wants to beat Bernie Sanders, you would think she would go after him as well. There was only one real moment where she confronted Bernie and it was pretty weak.

She cautiously reminded viewers how much she and Sanders have in common, but suggested that she is better positioned to pass a progressive agenda. Watch below:

If Warren loses Massachusetts to Bernie Sanders, she should end her campaign that day, and she will have only herself to blame. She never brought the fight to Bernie.

At one time I might have said that Warren and Sanders would be logical running mates, but after the last two debates with Liz really digging in at Bernie, I now don’t think so. Nor do I think he would extend an offer of a position in his cabinet if, god forbid, Bernie were to win.

Liz lashing out at all the “contestants” is going to leave her off everyone’s list for VP. I could see Bernie choosing Tlaib or AOC. I can’t imagine who Biden would select. Maybe the “other Biden” Dr Jill? Who would run with Bloomberg? Klobuchar? Buttigieg?

To blunt Trump’s inroads into the black community, the Dems have little choice but to put an African-American on the ticket. A long-shot alternative would be a hispanic VP pick.

So think Cory Booker, Andrew Gillum (the black guy who lost the Florida governor race in 2018) or Stacey Abrams. Kamila Harris might be considered, but I think she’s got too many question marks in her background.

Thinking aloud, I could see Bloomberg choosing Beto. They are both gun grabbers. Beto has the Hollywood support. He’s from Texas that the Dems are desperate to turn blue. Beto is young.

I agree about the black candidate … but Stacey Abrams? Seriously, what has she ever done … beside cleaning out a buffet establishment? Maybe Bernie will surprise and go full blown loon and choose AOC.

AOC can’t be VP due to age.

Warren is running to be Bernie’s Tonto. You may be right about him picking her, but she has to know chances of her being the nominee are pretty slim.

Can AOC be a VP pick when she is not old enough to be President? I am guessing she could be, but that means she is passed over by the Speaker if anything happens to Comrade Bernie before she is 35.

He can’t choose AOC, as she is only 30 and so does not meet the constitutional age requirement of being at least 35.

Of course, since it’s commie Bernie who thinks we should ignore the constitution, maybe he’ll do it anyway just to see if anybody tries to stop him!

Hmmmmm…….

Warren Refuses To Recognize Jerusalem As Israel’s Capital: Still Need To “Determine The Capital”

https://www.weaselzippers.us/444460-warren-refuses-to-recognize-jerusalem-as-israels-capital-still-need-to-determine-the-capital/

“We should let the parties determine the capitals themselves”.

Indeed. And Israel made that determination in 1949, so why does she have a problem with accepting it?

A country’s capital is by definition wherever its government is located. It’s a matter of objective fact, like its tallest mountain or longest river. Washington is the US capital not because someone said so but because that’s where the government is. Israel’s government has been located in Jerusalem since 1949; thus, as a matter of objective fact, that is its capital.

All the years that the US embassy was in Tel Aviv, if the US ambassador wanted to meet an Israeli minister, or watch a Knesset debate or a High Court session, he had to drive to Jerusalem to do it. Having the embassy in Tel Aviv made as little sense as having the Israeli embassy to the USA in Baltimore.

And insisting that Jerusalem isn’t the capital is just as crazy as insisting that Washington isn’t the US capital.

Well he’s certainly not going to eat his own lunch — he’s a socialist.

She will lose her shit when Trump trolls the hell out of her on twitter starting late at night and through the next day.

Not only is Bernie going to eat her lunch, he’s going to clean her clock and fix her wagon too! Maybe he’ll buy her a drink afterward.

Warren is abjectly irrelevant to Massachusetts. She is not from here, probably cannot name three rivers in the state or where the bridges are that cross them.

As to Harvard? Remind the moonbats that W has an MBA from Harvard! Whereas, famous Kennedy coward Dead Ted Kennedy was EXPELLED for cheating.

On the uptick, Bernie means nothing to Massachusetts, either, but Vermont seems to like him and that is more than can be said for a hideous liar without a feather of her own.

MA has a limited open primary in that the unenrolled can vote in either party’s primary.

So I’ll do my own little Operation Chaos and vote for the Bern.

I’d like the 2020 election to be one of real contrasts.

No tears for liz. Hoping for more bad news of any kind for her lying a**.
Even the Indians are demanding a real apology and not some mealy mouthed bs as she’s been try to do to them.

Sanders v. Warren in MA? For Bay State Democrats, this is akin to deciding between Stalin and Trotsky over who’s going to lead the Soviet Communist Party.

Either way, they’re going to lose.
