Third time’s the charm? Poll has Hillary leading Democrat pack if she were in the race

Third time’s the charm? Poll has Hillary leading Democrat pack if she were in the race

You know she wants to run.

How bad is the current crop of candidates for the 2020 Democrat presidential nomination?

So bad that a recent Harvard/Harris poll shows Democrat primary voters rejecting the current slate of candidates and selecting as their top pick someone who is not even in the race. Twice-failed presidential candidate Hillary Clinton was their top choice.

The Washington Times reports:

She’s not running for president — yet — but Hillary Clinton was the top choice for Democratic voters in the Harvard-Harris national poll released last week.

Mrs. Clinton drew 21%, followed by former Vice President Joseph R. Biden with 20%, when registered Democrats were asked whom they would support for the 2020 party presidential nod if she and former Secretary of State John Kerry were added to the mix.

Placing third in the hypothetical race was Vermont Sen. Bernard Sanders at 12%, followed by Massachusetts Sen. Elizabeth Warren at 9% and ex-New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg at 7%.

Hillary has been desperately clinging to her twice-dashed hope of being the first female president and repeatedly refuses to eliminate a third run.

As a bit of an hilarious aside, the same poll asked Democrat primary voters to consider a field that included John Kerry (D-MA).  He polled at 5%, trailing all of the actual candidates and Hillary.

The Daily Wire reports:

Without Clinton, the vote showed Biden with 29%, Senator Bernie Sanders with 16%, Senator Elizabeth Warren with 13%, South Bend mayor Pete Buttigieg with 8%, and former New York City mayor Michael Bloomberg with 7%.

But when Clinton and 2004 Democratic presidential candidate John Kerry were added to the list, the vote came out 21% for Clinton, 20% for Biden, 12% for Sanders, 9% for Warren, and Buttigieg and Kerry with 5%.

The prospect of a third Hillary run for the White House naturally makes me reflect on her most recent loss.

Professor Jacobson ran must-read, comprehensive reflection posts on the one-year anniversary of Clinton’s loss to President Trump:

And finally, because this never gets old (language warning):

Should she enter and lose again to “impeached” President Trump, the resultant media/leftist meltdown will make this look like objective reporting.

Yea that poll sounds good, however you have to take into account that it was taken without Hildabeast actually convalescing around the country and coughing out her nonsensical drivel.

That is probably her plan. Let everyone else kick and spit and then just drift in and take the prize. It will work for the nomination but it will not work against Trump.

That’s about what Robert Kennedy did. Then, there was that spot of bother at the Ambassador Hotel.

I’m not sure it would even work for the nomination. A lot of the Democrats blame her for the 2016 loss, and the candidates who are in the race right now aren’t simply going to roll over. I can see candidates like Bernie openly (and loudly) refusing to endorse her, and even telling their supporters not to vote for her. If she steps in at the last moment and takes the nomination out from under someone else it could shatter the Democrats.

And wouldn’t that be a shame?

I think she’s growing accustomed to the taste.

Draft her. Then deploy her to Yemen.

oh please do! the optics will keep me fat on popcorn for years!

Please, please, PLEASE?

I would love to see a three-way debate between her and Liz’beth (if I am spelling her Indian name right), and Uncle Joe.

They’d tag-team Joe and once he started whimpering and went to his corner, they’d turn on each other…. there ain’t enough popcorn in the country for that fight.

My money’s on Hillary; you don’t survive in the arena as long as she has without knowing how to pull a can opener out of your bra in the clinches.

Fake news. She’s running. She just hasn’t done the official announcement show yet. She can afford to let a few more of the morons self-destruct before she starts the next spending cycle.

I think even the Democrat voters would be mocking her were she to get the nomination. It would mark the perfect end to five years of her #resist buffoonery. The ultimate humiliation of losing in an historic landslide to her life’s biggest nemesis. How could she go on living? (Hint. Hint. Is she listening?)

If she runs what would happen if she is put on trial for selling the favors of her office for hundreds of millions in donations to her slush fund and for mishandling classified information?

What would happen? The Dems would scream about interference with the election and demand another impeachment (which would fail like the current one will.)

But it would be very popcorn-worthy.

Not only were the videos of the election night fantastic but we had one comment that was spot on.

Trump will be impeached. No, it’s not because he colluded with the Russians, committed major fraud, or anything traditionally considered a high crime or misdemeanor. Rather, he committed the unforgivable sin of making the self-appointed MIPOE (most intelligent people on earth) look downright stupid. Nothing will contain Democrat and Leftist rage over this.

Hillary’s problem is her failure to acknowledge the reason she lost, calling half the voters a “basket of deplorables”. For all his persona defects, Trump is trying to deliver for all Americans and largely has, especially for the poorest, for whom the unemployment rate and personal income stats mean the most. Trying to be President of only the select half is a non-starter for her; and there is no evidence that her attitude has changed. (Her health also appears compromised.)

The filing deadline passed in some states. A lot of deadlines are coming up in the next several days.

Do these deadlines, ultimately, not even matter?

CorkyAgain in reply to Colonel Travis. | December 10, 2019 at 9:56 pm

If the Dems control the Secretary of State offices in the states where the deadlines have passed, they’ll almost certainly find a way to say they don’t matter.

Never underestimate the Dems willingness to change the rules on the fly if it suits their purposes.

CorkyAgain in reply to Colonel Travis. | December 10, 2019 at 11:40 pm

Seriously though, here’s a link to a site with info re the filing deadlines:

    https://ballotpedia.org/State_and_federal_candidate_filing_deadlines_for_2020

Deadlines have already passed in Alabama, Arkansas, Illinois, California, and Texas. Of those, I would expect Illinois and California to be the states where we might see some convenient rule changes. Especially since there will be a lot of delegates at stake there.

But who knows, maybe Hillary’s plan is to be nominated by acclamation at the convention so she can skip the rigors of a primary campaign?

Well, now. The bill for the Democrats’ reliance on the Russia hoax is just about to come due, and it will be a doozy. The sound you now hear is Democrats sweating (yes – it is an audible sound).

Democrats today announced articles of impeachment, and cited the Russia-stole-the-election-for-Trump fraud as one of their main reasons. So if Hillary! runs and She is not the nominee Democrats punch yet more holes in their already weak case (as well as seriously piss a sizable percent of their genocidal base). For three years Democrats have been telling us that Hillary! is the One True President, so how can they nominate someone else and keep the Russia hoax alive? Wouldn’t that make them Putin’s stooges and Russian assets?

Massive voting fraud is arguably the Democrats’ most potent political weapon in 2020. But even cheating has its limits, and Democrats may be about to discover them.

Here in WA state, where Democrat shenanigans with ballot counting are as predictable as rain in Seattle, conservatives have as one of our mottos “They can’t cheat if it ain’t close.”

Unfortunately, thanks to the huge leftwing population in the Seattle metro area, it’s often close.

She will be the nominee in 2020, I have no doubt. As soon as the others are done feeding off each other she’ll jump in. I am so not looking forward to that horseshit.

Better than seeing Hillary after she lost the nomination to a one-term Senator with the intelligence of an ant.

Better than seeing Hillary after she lost the presidential election, and all of the media types went into denial.

Is seeing Hillary lose the presidential election *again*

Run, Hillary. Run. Or waddle.

Is that photo of her 20 years old?

Seen her lately?

She looks like a bag lady.

She didn’t have the energy to campaign last time. She’s halfway into her coffin now, just waiting on the lid to close.

How old is that photo, 20 years?

Come on!

Seems more like a push poll than something done seriously.

When a person runs multiple times and fails, it’s rare for them to come back and succeed. She failed the last time, would be running against Trump, and while – sure the left know the amount of fraud they would need to win if they were running the same repeat as last time. But, reality is Trump has been gaining votes from areas which Hillary did OK, but was on shaky ground.

She is a mental case, a real loon. She has delusions of having actually been elected President while Trump took her place. The left in large part believe this as well, hence the impeachment cries from before Trump was inaugurated.

Yes, the clown car is filled with vomit inducing candidates, but it’s not going to improve with Hillary jumping in to save the day. She hopes with little exposure, people won’t remember all there is to hate about her positions, her criminal behavior, her lies, but playing catch up in her case wouldn’t give her better results. It would remind everyone of why she wasn’t elected despite being selected and anointed the last time.

I buy this poll as much as I buy Obama being thought of as being better than Washington as President, when every day his legacy looks worse and worse and his criminality is becoming clearer for most folks.

Hillary has a better chance at reaching Heaven than she does being given a third try at being President.

I don’t think she’s going to run. I think the noises we’re hearing are her attempt to make herself relevant again, make it seem like she’s still a force among the Democrats. Lately the Clinton Foundation has been deep in the red, and has lost more than 30 million. Her speeches have much lower attendance and have had to discount tickets.

At this point it’s more likely she’s trying to play kingmaker, make it so the eventual nominee has to court her support.

If she thought another run was realistic, she’s be raising some serious money by now. Last time she spent . . . what, over a billion dollars? And that wasn’t enough. Especially since nothing much has changed since 2016: she’ll still have very limited appeal to the black vote, and the women’s vote will break for Trump in 2020 for the same reasons it did so in 2016. The only real difference is that DJT is far stronger now than he was three years ago. Then, he was a speculative unknown. This time ’round we know what we’re getting, and that’s what no other candidate even puts up a pretense of offering.

While I don’t anticipate that 2020 will knock 2016 off its pedestal as the best election ever, I expect it to be pretty good.

Every time I see one of those youtube clips, It puts a huge smile on my face……Thank You Professor.

The word “pathetic” comes to mind … if she doesn’t have the energy / stamina to compete in the debates – to declare and go toe-to-toe with the other candidopes, how will she ever compete in the general against Trump? She’s castigated practically everyone these last 3+ years for her loss – if she were elected in 2020 there would be real hell to pay by EVERYONE. Dems would have to be certifiably insane to vote for her.

I swear, one of these days, her Dem pall-bearers are going to wheel her out to the stage strapped to a refrigerator dolly.

If I were Bill (and thank God I’m not) I’d be hiding all the ashtrays, vases, and other similar-sized objects around the house. Because there’s going to be a lot of things being thrown in angry frustration when she realizes that she’s already had her chance and she’s not going to get another one.

There are lot of people and governments stuck with worthless Clinton ‘stock shares’ in America. (She is, after all, completely bought and paid for.) They might as well roll the dice with her.
