Michael Bloomberg Taking Steps to Enter Presidential Race

Michael Bloomberg Taking Steps to Enter Presidential Race

Oh joy.

https://youtu.be/FyEDacBzbLk

Former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg has started preparations to enter into the presidential race. From Fox News:

Bloomberg, who besides his stint in the New York City’s mayor’s office is also a billionaire businessman, has been reportedly mulling over a potential White House run for weeks, but has not made his final decision. His move to send staffers to Alabama to gather the signatures needed to qualify for the primary is the first sign that he is seriously considering entering the Democratic fray.

Alabama is not an early voting state, but it has a deadline of Friday for candidates to officially enter the presidential race.

People close to Bloomberg said he called many “Democrats on Thursday to tell them he was seriously considering the race, including former Senator Harry Reid of Nevada, the retired majority leader who remains a dominant power broker in the early caucus state.”

Reid said Bloomberg did not flat out say he planned to run, “but that the implication of the call had been clear.”

Bloomberg’s entrance could cause headaches for the Democratic Party. The large presidential field has started to chip away as people realize former Vice President Joe Biden, Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA), and Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) will not budge from the top three spots.

His centrist views do not mix well with the far-left positions of Warren and Sanders. But those views could cause problems for Biden, who has tried to keep a centrist position. Biden has struggled to raise money, but Bloomberg has enough personal wealth to not worry about funds.

From The New York Times:

Howard Wolfson, a close adviser to Mr. Bloomberg, said on Thursday that the former mayor viewed President Trump as an “unprecedented threat to our nation,” and noted Mr. Bloomberg’s heavy spending in the 2018 midterm elections and this week’s off-year races in Virginia. Mr. Bloomberg, he said, has grown uneasy about the existing trajectory of the Democratic primary.

“We now need to finish the job and ensure that Trump is defeated — but Mike is increasingly concerned that the current field of candidates is not well positioned to do that,” Mr. Wolfson said. “If Mike runs he would offer a new choice to Democrats built on a unique record running America’s biggest city, building a business from scratch and taking on some of America’s toughest challenges as a high-impact philanthropist.”

Only 8% of the respondents in a Fox News poll said they would vote for Bloomberg. 32% said they would never vote for him.

Comments

Someone has to jump in and claim that 1% just hanging out there for someone to claim. Bloomberg is not a serious threat to the margin of error.

A liberal could be a genius, but he or she is still a liberal.

A less intelligent conservative would always guide the nation better.

President Trump believes our rights come from our Creator.

bloomberg believes he can keep me from drinking a big gulp.

No thanks michael bloomberg.

Bloomberg: just another air head leftard for Trump to curb stomp.

As if the clown car wasn’t still crowded enough.

My first thought was about my right to choose my own soda size, don’t need the government in my mouth.

What does that say about the man?

Bloomberg, “a small man with a small soda”

What a slogan

There is not a single word in the Bill of Rights that he feels applies to anyone other than himself. Not from “Congress ..to ..people” Not a word.

…. and his vp is nyc mayor: deblazin’-oreo

Something about Bloomberg reminds me of Mario Cuomo.

    Bloomberg isn’t quite that stupid.
I just don’t see him polling any better than his last time wishing to run when his polling numbers came in and told him “no hope Little Micky”.

Bloomberg actually believes he could win the nomination. Because he appeals to Spanish speaking goys living in the mid-western hinterlands? How could he believe such a thing?

Because he lives in a sanitized Manhattan isolation bubble surrounded by scores of metro-girls and beta-soy-male suck-up crawlers eager and willing to knife one another in the back for the singular pleasure of massaging his Schwarzenegger-sized ego?

I know that Bloomie could not get a single vote in Texas, not even from Democrats. Down here he comes off as some insane alien who doesn’t even speak the same language as anyone we know. It’d be like the King of RumpHumpistan trying to run for election here.

“Big Club Bloomberg Enters Democrat Presidential Primary Race…”

“It was always going to be thus, and those who refuse to understand the Big Club will never be able to the understand the predictability of it all. It’s a big club folks, and you ain’t in it.

…I love, absolutely love, the predictability of it all, and especially how the club managers position the narrative. Notice the hard-sell: “it could represent a seismic disruption in the Democratic race.”

“As if this is an organic new shift in the race, and not a pre-planned, pre-determined, and pre-scripted event being rolled out. ”

surprise he waited this long, I was expecting him to run when Hillary was running, to a Ross Perot, Perot is the reason we had 8 years of clinton

Word out there is that his campaign slogan will be MAFIA:

Make
All
Fun
Illegal
Again

Yawn. Another gun grabber with a small, uh, uh –

soda.

Bloomberg campaign slogans.

Bloomberg: The man we’ve been waiting on. Because the subway is broken again.

Bloomberg: We’re only going to take other people’s money. We promise. Honest.

Bloomberg: 20 and 20 – Because $40 all the money you’ll have left.

Bloomberg: You have to give it to him. Or he’ll send a SWAT team and take it anyway.

He may be a serious threat. A megalomaniac with a calm demeanor and only your best interest at heart.
btw: he does not abide by a single stricture he advocates for others.
He may be the candidate.

bloom: If you can’t shoot a deer within 3 bullets, and assault weapons are automatic, one trigger pull is “brrrrttt,” blow the deer up with dynamite or it deserves to get away, don’t be stupid, wt-F am I even saying no one knows but you damn sure can’t drink a big gulp.

Yeah, I don’t think so bloom.

And now it’s being reported that Eric Holder is about to throw in his hat too. Probably needs the legal protection of being a political candidate before he gets dragged into testifying on his role in all of these scandals.

tom_swift in reply to Pasadena Phil. | November 8, 2019 at 3:35 pm

    What “legal protection” is that?

Certain government officeholders are protected from legal harassment in specific limited ways. But candidates aren’t generally officeholders.

Some candidates qualify for Secret Service protection, but that doesn’t happen until late next year.

He has no chance to win … every dollar he wastes on a presidential campaign is one he’s not spending on gun control.

Go Bloomberg!

Yeah because we want the country to be run like NY.
Great reason to run.

The Democratic Party is not going to survive its July, 2020 convention in one piece.

That face. One of the most noxious, detestable, oily creatures ever to pollute public life. Go away, Michael. Nobody likes you. You cannot even comprehend how loathsome you are to the majority of decent human beings on this planet.

Bloomberg is an older Robert Francis O’Rourke; much better financed with a better strategy for gun grabbing who is highly skilled and much practiced at squeezing tax money out of turnips.

amatuerwrangler | November 8, 2019 at 10:46 am

So the Dems are all upset by the NY billionaire now occupying the White House, and their solution will be replacing him with yet another NY billionaire. This oughta be good…

The fun never ends.

Dems, you’re going to need a bigger klown kar.

Make sure to leave enough room for Hillary!’s fat arse.

Sorry about the multiple comments. There is something about this website that really screws with my PC. I would think the problem is on my end. But I’m on my third laptop since I started following this site.

I love this site. But it messed up all of them.

To the point where I’ve learned that I can only have one tab open at a time or my computer will lock up and I can’t even power it down properly. None of the functions work. I can’t ctl-alt-delete my way to relief. Task Manager stops working. Nothing works. I have to just risk a hard shut down via the power button.

And even with only one tab open, after a while my laptop freezes up. This doesn’t happen on other sites.

I hear he is only 5’2″ so the steps he is taking must be baby steps.
