Mosques in Germany are praying for the Turkish army’s success as it wages a fierce military offensive against the U.S.-allied Kurdish forces and civilians in neighboring Syria, German newspaper Die Welt reported.

The worshippers pray the victory verse: “Allah, Lead Our Glorious Army to Victory.”

The backing from mosques in Germany comes days after Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan ordered a full-scale attack against Kurds in northern Syria following the withdrawal of U.S. troops from the region. German mosques read out the “victory verse,” or Surah al Fath, from the Muslim holy book Quran, celebrating Muhammad’s victory over his rivals in 7th century Arabia, media reports suggest.

Turkey’s state-controlled Directorate of Religious Affairs, or Diyanet, issued the call to prayer. Germany’s largest Turkish Islamic group, DITIB, which runs some 900 mosques across the country and boasts of 800,00 members, has also allegedly participated in prayers calling for the victory of the Turkish military against Kurds in northern Syria. DITIB officials denied endorsing the call, but a media investigation showed several leading DITIB officials involved in the campaign. Mosques affiliated with Milli Görüs, Germany’s largest Islamic association with around 10,000 supporters, also reportedly took part.

German newspaper Die Welt reported the nationwide Islamist prayer call:

Following Turkish invasion of northern Syria, Mosques in Germany have prayed for Turkey’s victory. Turkish [state-run] agency for religion, Diyanet, imams to mosque congregations of DITIB, Germany’s Islamic Association Milli Görüs (IGMG), and ATIB (Turkish-Islamic Union in Europe), have circulated a Friday sermon that says verbatim: “Help our heroic Army that has launched a military campaign for the safety of our land.”

In addition to this, The Kölner Stadt-Anzeiger newspaper reported about an audio recording which was circulated by DITIB congregation in the [northwestern German city of] Herne. “Allah, lead our glorious army to victory,” it says. A spokeswoman for the DITIB head office explained that this was “neither ordered nor planned by us.”

Now investigations on Facebook shows that significant number of mosques have prayed for a Turkish victory. “After the prayer on Sunday afternoon the surah [verse] of victory was read so that our Prophet comes out victorious,” the [Facebook] page of DITIB-branch in [the town of] Forbach said. The board member of the DITIB congregation in [the town of] Kirn posted [on social media] that this surah was read “in mosques all across the country” during the operation in Northern Syria.

On the [Facebook] page of DITIB mosques in Saverne [a French town near the German border] one could read: “May Allah allow our armies to be triumphant.” The DITIB congregation in Horn-Bad Meinberg posted a quote of Diyanet Chief, Ali Erbas, who prayed to “make our glorious armies victorious.” [Translated by the author]

Erdogan’s government exercises firm control over DITIB and other Muslim congregations in Germany. They send hand-picked imams from Turkey to run their mosques and direct their activities. Despite its loyalty to Turkey’s Islamist regime, DITIB has received millions of euros in German state funding in the name of “de-radicalization” and “refugee aid” programs.

The loyalty of these foreign imams has long been under question. In 2017, Germany’s domestic intelligence agency uncovered an elaborate spy-ring run by DITIB imams under Ankara’s direction. In the light of compelling evidence, DITIB accepted the spying allegations, pinning the blame on a “few” imams who had acted on the instruction of their Turkish handlers.

The damning revelation of espionage activities did not stop Chancellor Angela Merkel’s government from signing further fat checks for the Erdogan-backed organization. Only subsequent public pressure forced the government to cut the group’s funding.

The latest jihad-style prayer call should come as a wake-up call to the German and Western Liberals. Decades of government-sponsored multiculturalism in Germany has miserably failed to “integrate” its immigrant Muslim population. It is a slap in the face to Germany’s state-ordained “Welcome Culture” (Willkommenskultur), which hoped to win over imported a hostile Muslim population by loading them with welfare benefits and making the society Sharia-compliant.

Look at the bright side, Germany. You don’t have so many of those pesky Jews around, jah?

Some people claim that this evil conquest ideology is a religion. Imagine a “god” who commands his adherents to kill innocent people. I concur with Obama on this one: “ no religion condones killing”.

I think many are focusing on the religious aspect of this story and missing the most important part. The reason this is happening isn’t because of Islam per se, although that’s the vehicle; it’s happening because almost all of the Mosques in Germany are directly controlled by the Turkish Government. That’s why they disseminate official propaganda for the Turkish govm’t. (remember that everyone who the Turks are attacking are muslims, too)

Germany has allowed a hostile foreign government to move millions of military age men inside it’s borders, and has allowed them to set up a public and well organized command and control system so that they can directly control those men. THAT’s the story here!

Okay Germany, now what? Borders beginning to make sense yet?

Germany is being conquered without a shot being fired …. just an occasional slash of the knife …. and procreation on steroids.

    Well that and rapes.

    LOTS AND LOTS OF RAPES
which the German media refuses to report.

I suppose I should profess to be surprised that a substantial number of Muslims remain stuck in a mindset of perpetual belligerence vis-a-vis non-Muslims that hasn’t changed in the 1,400 years since the ideology’s founding, but, that would reflect a foolish ignorance regarding the ideology of “Submission’s” intrinsic supremacism and totalitarianism, and, the scripture-sanctioned exhortations to violence against non-Muslims, as a core duty of the faithful.

The Kurds are also Muslim. This is a Turkish ethnic war against a minority with an Arabic-speaking culture.

The Turks have a long history of eradicating ethnic minorities. They’ll treat these guys worse than they did the Armenians the last time.

I think Erdogan has bit off way more than he can chew. He’s not only fighting the kurds now, he’s going to be fighting the Syrian govm’t, who are backed by the Russians, and the remaining Syrian rebels, and some Iranian backed Shiite militias. Turkey doesn’t have nearly enough military strength to face all of these adversaries at once. Their planned invasion is going to fail.

Add the prospect of crippling sanctions and you can see why Turkey requested an emergency peace negotiation session. It’s why Pence and team are headed there now.

Trump got it right, again. Unfortunately, hardly a story out there that is fact based enough to convince the general populace – or the hawks in DC or anyone in the McCain tree of treachery.

      “Trump got it right, again.”

He has the whole middle east figured out. I’d like to give him credit and I do, but figuring it out isn’t that hard.

The hard part, which is where the real credit is due, is too put the policy in effect knowing you are going to get hammered by the neocons, the TV generals, etc. Trump does it anyway. He isolated Erdogan, quite nicely in fact. Even the Kurds are going to win in the end.

I’m not sure which is greater in number, the fools that believe we have some magical responsibility to police the ME, or the ones that profit from it in some way. I appreciate Trump trying to keep my grandchildren out of that place.

This seems to be a pattern.
Trump does or says something unexpected and outside the box, which the “experts” decry as evidence of his stupidity.
After the chattering class have finished screeching, folks see that it’s not going the way they predicted and Trump has actually called it rightly, as events unfold.
Then the chattering class goes back to hating him and ignores his foresight and success.
Same pattern when he trolls them as well. It may sound and seem off-the-cuff, but it ain’t. He appears to know where he want to go and throws bread cumbs out for his adversaries to follow to his dead-fall. Not saying it’s 4-D chess but he appears to know how to play the game. Better than the usual suspects.

I have read that the invasion of Rome by the Visigoths was not all that impressive, either. They were a shambling group of tribes with women and children, carrying all their worldly goods.

The difference is that Europe now feeds and houses their invaders, who see the largess of European taxpayers and jizya, something owed to them simply because they are Muslim.

That picture from inside the mosque reminds me of sheep being led to slaughter.

What a target rich environment. If only for a flamethrower.

After the prayer on Sunday afternoon the surah [verse] of victory was read so that our Prophet comes out victorious

Odd. The Kurds are as much Muslims as are the Turks. And mainly Sunnis both. Maybe the Kurds are usually not quite as wackily devout as most of the Middle East, but Muslims they are.

The Ottomans claimed the authority of the Caliphate in the 14th century. But that was by right of conquest, not by right of descent—the Ottoman Caliphate is not a proper one derived from descent of one sort or another from Muhammad. You’d think the German mosques would still be peeved about that if they were good Muslims rather than good Turks.

I believe the prayer, in full, goes something like this:
“Allah, lead our glorious army to victory over Allah’s other glorious army.”
I may be paraphrasing.

But don’t call it a death cult.

Make no mistake, this is as much about the political ISIS that is megalomaniac Recep Tayyip Erdoğan’s Muslim Brotherhood as it is about random Muslims in the random mosques in Germany chanting support for Turkey’s theocratic dictator Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and Turkey’s “Muslim Army”. Erdoğan intends to one day unite all the “tribes” of Islam and “ascend to caliph” of a “new Ottoman Empire”. He’s not as verbose about it today, but for well over a decade he’s not made that a secret. https://www.memri.org/tv/turkish-president-erdogan-turkey-hope-all-peoples-region-we-will-be-architect-new-middle-east

This is very important. Turkey is the hope of all peoples in the region, we will be the architect of a new Middle east……Approximately just 100 years ago, from Bosnia-Herzegovina to Yemen, from Georgia to Libya, a very large region of the world was ruled from here, from Istanbul where we stand today…The Ottoman State was able to maintain the entire region in unity and harmony…Now we all need to accept that above all else…When it comes to Iraq, for example, why are there such blood conflicts between Shiite and Sunnis and all the other tribes? Allah willing, we will remove all the borders in the hearts and minds that were created after World War I, and we will all join together…Trust me, many people will follow our beliefs. —President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan (speech at Marmara University October 13, 2014)

    Well said!

No mention of the Kurds. What a surprise.

The Treaty of Sèvres, which ended WW1 between the Allies and Turkey, included provision for a Kurdistan of sorts. Unfortunately for the Kurds, Mustfa Kemal was opposed to many provisions of Sèvres, so fighting continued. Mustafa turned out to be surprisingly formidable, and Sèvres was soon superseded by the Treaty of Lausanne, a treaty much more favorable to Turkey; among other things, it pretty much blew off the Kurds.

But I’m sure that now that a century has passed the Turks will see the virtues of sweetness & light, and ensure a Middle East positively wallowing in peace & harmony.

“…The Ottoman State was able to maintain the entire region in unity and harmony …” Many of those states were not Muslim.

In Unity and Harmony, because the conquered states knew if they made a peep, they be slaughtered.

When they say “our” glorious army, I suspect that they don’t mean that of the nation on whose foolish altruism they depend.

All of these heathens need to be exterminated.

Allowing 900 Turkish mosques and for them to be controlled by Turkey shows that the German people are beyond insanely stupid! Germany is F**ked!
