New CNN Poll: 12-Point Decline for Harris, Biden Regains Double Digit Lead

Harris lost a lot of points in all the questions asked by CNN.

A new CNN/SSRS poll has some disappointing news for 2020 Democratic presidential hopeful California Sen. Kamala Harris.

Harris dropped to fourth place with only 5%, down from 17% in June. Former Vice President Joe Biden received a huge bump and regained his double-digit lead.

Harris jumped up in polls after the first debates in June when she jumped from 8% in May to 17% in June in the CNN poll. A Quinnipiac poll had her at 20% after the debate. Did the second debate harm Harris? From CNN:

The second debate in Detroit didn’t cause most of Harris’ drop. She was already down to 12% in a late July poll by Quinnipiac.

Still, the California senator seemed to be holding onto some of her first debate bounce coming into the CNN debates. I wrote at the time “why Kamala Harris needs another strong debate.” That didn’t happen.

Harris is now considerably weaker across the board. She dropped by over 10 points with whites and nonwhites. She declined by 9 points or more with those under the age of 50 as well those aged 50 and older.

Her biggest drop might have been among liberals. She went from 24% in late June to only 4% now.

Harris’ decline is seen in other questions too. When asked which candidates they’d like to hear more about, 30% said Harris in late June. That was more than any other candidate. Now, only 18% say they want to hear more about Harris. That’s slightly behind Elizabeth Warren, who clocked in at 20%.

Biden obtained seven points since June. No one else received as many as he did during that time period.

Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) sits in second at 15%. Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) is in third with 14%. These two switched spots from June, but their numbers stayed relatively the same.

CNN asked people which candidates they wanted to hear more about. Those not named Biden and Sanders had a huge jump after the first debates but declined a lot in this poll. As CNN reported, Harris dropped to 18% from 30% in June, but others saw a loss as well.

The June poll showed 23% of the people wanted to hear more about South Bend Mayor Pete Buttigieg, but now sits with 13%.

New Jersey Sen. Cory Booker also suffered with this question. Only 10% want to hear more about him, a drop from 17% in June.

Former Texas Rep. Robert O’Rourke went up to 10% from 9% with this question. Entrepreneur Andrew Yang went up two points to 6% from 4%.

Defeating President Donald Trump in November 2020 remains the most important issue for the respondents at 54%. However, that went down from June when it hit 61%. Instead, having a candidate that has the same position as the respondents gained steam. That question hit 39%, up from 30% in June.

kamala is a fraud. She is also angry, and seems to dislike America. Looks like biden the gaffe machine is going to be the dem nominee.

Democrat voters are getting a look at their candidates. I don’t think they are looking for the next, shiny, new thing this year. They got that with Obama.

    Yeah!

Obama was the first “lady” president after all….

The first illegal alien president also…..

Like all of Obama’s sports picks, his political picks never seem to pan out.

Gropin’ and sniffin’ are in this year.

It begs the question.

Which one of these slimy slugs is going to win the snails race to be the Demoncratic nominee?

It’s obvious, the one crossing the finish line with the thinnest shell and having left the most slime.

These polls have no relation to what they purport to be measuring. It’s all about the narrative and so Biden will lead these polls until someone who is even less loony than Biden appears. Humorless communists who hate everybody and want to take everyone’s rights away isn’t selling so Biden seems destined to be the chauffeur of the Commie Clown Car leading Dems off of the cliff.

I think these polls reflect who will be in the next debate. Otherwise, meaningless..

I’ve read that Communist China really wants Ol’ Joe.

Ergo, the Deep State also wants Ol’ Joe.

They’re used to his gropin’ and sniffin’ ways I guess.

The best part is the original BITE PUSH polls are no longer keeping him of 33%. The numbers are now showing what we all knew. put em in a bag and you cant tell the difference.

Gabbard really leveled Harris.

    A nuclear level event.

OTOH, it was an easy thing to do. People just naturally don’t like Harris. She has a lot of negatives. The biggest negative hasn’t even been brought out yet.

She’s got a big mouth and I hate politicians that shoot their mouth off. She’s also from CA … I live in CA … I haven’t seen one bit of improvement in CA since I came here in 1968. We don’t need a CA anything as president.

Yeah I think Harris can forget about the nomination and might have to worry about reelection to the Senate. Without the blacks she has no base. And the blacks are gone now, not to return.

Which made me expect a surge by Corey Booker as blacks switched to him. But I don’t see that. The gay thing may turn them off. Booker is no Obama, he doesn’t make you feel comfortable, doesn’t have the special thing that I heard in Obama’s voice (but that seemed to disappear after his election when he didn’t need it any more.)

Some other poll had Elizabeth Warren in the lead with 30% support, Biden behind with something like 24%. But the question was different. Nobody really wants to hear more about Warren. We’ve had enough Indian stories for the next 20 years.

Polls are rigged. I doubt she ever went up as much as what was reported.

I’m going with Biden/Gabbard.

That’s what I thought, and it makes sense, but Gabbard is from a safe state. Usually they look for a VP to bring in a swing state.

The Democratic Nominee has not yet entered the race. Either Mark Cuban or Mark Zuckerberg. All these midgets will scurry away when they join in December.

Hard to believe that so many senators and a former VP have so little influence that that would be allowed to happen. Trump wasn’t wanted by the Rep. establishment (quite an understatement) but he was there from the very first Republican debate.

My bets are on moochelle – thanks Prof Jacobson – or fauxahontas. They both check all the dem pc boxes.

The goal of most of the democratic candidates is a negative one – defeat Trump. They do not emphasize a positive agenda, which would be to make the USA a better country by solving our multiple problems.
