Joe Biden 2020: Totally Not Senile or Too Old

“He is every bit as sharp as he was 31 years ago. I haven’t seen any change”

The argument for Joe Biden’s candidacy for president is coming into focus. His mind is adequate. He’s 76 years young. You have nothing to worry about, America. Really.

A few months ago, I highlighted the game the media and Democrats played with John McCain’s age in 2008.

This Politico piece by Marc Caputo takes things to a whole new level:

We talked to experts on aging about the 2020 field. Here’s what they told us.

Joe Biden was lying on the operating table and about to get surgery for his second brain aneurysm when the doctor told him he might not recover.

“What’s the most likely thing that will happen if I live?” Biden asked him. “Well,” the doctor replied, “the side of the brain that the first aneurysm is on controls your ability to speak.”

That’s when the gaffe-prone Biden thought to himself: “Why in the hell didn’t they tell me this before the ’88 campaign?’ It could’ve saved us all a lot of trouble, you know what I mean?”

That joke, which Biden told in a speech in 2013, has taken on new relevance now that he’s on the campaign trail for president again and facing questions about his gaffes. Though Biden has a longstanding reputation for verbal flubs, they’re now inextricably linked to the 76-year-old’s age.

But concerns about Biden’s age and mental fitness are likely overblown, according to experts on aging and the brain, as well as actuarial tables used by the insurance industry to estimate the health and longevity of customers.

The article even includes this super-reassuring quote from the doctor who performed surgery on Biden for two brain aneurysms in 1988:

“He is every bit as sharp as he was 31 years ago. I haven’t seen any change,” Kassell said. “I can tell you with absolute certainty that he had no brain damage, either from the hemorrhage or from the operations that he had. There was no damage whatsoever.”

See? There’s no reason for worry.

If you’re still not convinced, you should listen to his wife Jill.

Cortney O’Brien reports at Townhall:

Jill Biden’s Attempt to Campaign For Her Husband Backfires

Campaign trail spouses want to support their husband or wife who’s running for higher office, but sometimes they do more harm than good. The latest example of this is Jill Biden’s attempt to explain why voters should choose her husband in the 2020 presidential election.

She admitted on Monday in front of a group of New Hampshire teachers that some of his opponents may have better ideas, but in the end it’s all about electability, and Biden’s got it. Meaning, you may have to “swallow a little bit” and vote for him.

Watch Jill Biden’s remarks below:

That’s not exactly a ringing endorsement, but it’s more than Biden has gotten from the president he served for eight years, so there’s that.

Let’s not forget that this is the same party which has repeatedly questioned Trump’s mental health.

What double standard?

Very reassuring to learn that this dimwit is just as “sharp” as he was 31 years ago. When was he NOT a dimwit?

Obviously there are some mental health issues at play here. How else can you explain ANYONE belonging to the Democratic party???

My neighbor/friend is a Democrat. Salt of the earth, old school. So I do not understand, nope. I have to believe that the Ds on TV are something new. The politicians have left my neighbor in the dust, and they will not be coming back. I asked his R wife, whom he would support for 2020. Too early, she said.

This is unbelievable. This is the D’rats putting their best foot forward?

Vote for our candidate because he’s not senile yet! Really, he’s not. Well, at least he wasn’t thirty years ago.

I’m sure comics will resist the temptation to exploit his wife’s imagery.

His wife is as dumb as he is. I didn’t think that would be possible.

My take is that she’s as desperate to get into the WH as he. She’d get to be First Lady and all that comes with it. She might even take up Jackie’s pill box hats.

They constantly refer to her as Dr. Jill Biden, implying that she’s a medical doctor. But she’s not a real doctor. What’s going on is a variant of Stolen Valor.

She has her PiledHigh&Deep one in “education” (as if that’s a bona fide). Hers is as worthy of respect as any degree in the “studies.”

I agree you can go all the way back to 1973 and he’s still making the same gaffes

Good old Slow Joe. Dumb as ever.

So, that stupid thing he said, or that weird picture of him acting creepy toward some young woman, those things aren’t because he’s old and senile?

I don’t see how that changes anything but thanks for sharing.

“He is every bit as sharp as he was 31 years ago. I haven’t seen any change,”

True, he is now,and always has been, this STUPID. It’s not an aberration, the not so bright voters of Delaware voted this idiot into the US Senate for decades, and he’s been wrong about nearly every major issue for over 40 years.

Sad and funny backhanded compliment as the fool hasn’t learned a damned thing in all these’31’ years . . . not even a trace of wisdom in that plastic face.

And Hillbully Clinton had no medical issues when she was chucked into the scooby van like a side of beef.

Biden appears much healthier than original Hillary (who may be dead now unless somehow they removed those venous clots in her brain) was up to the debates. Recall that in the debates, after 9/11/16, she was replaced by a shorter, younger, thinner woman who did amazingly well in those debates.

Biden has the advantage of being tall, and as a politician he is actually very skilled. He didn’t run before because the D’s had better candidates. This year the D’s have NOBODY, and so they trot out Joe Biden, who’s actually quite a good politician.

But really, the problem isn’t his current health but his age. Trump’s age too, but Trump is three or four years younger and more robust. To have a chance against Trump, whose performance has more energy than most 20 year olds, at least you can’t be even older than he is.

If Biden gets the nomination, The Democrat ticket will be known as Swallow and Spit.

i can see the health care offer: free classes on the heimlich maneuver in case the swallowing thing doesn’t work out…

“What! You’re telling me Biden is not senile?” Alice spoke matter of factly, “There’s no use trying. One can’t believe impossible things.”

The queen replied, “I daresay you haven’t had much practice. When I was your age, I always did it for half-an-hour a day. Why, sometimes I’ve believed as many as six impossible things before breakfast. For instance, Biden can be president. Warren can be president. Harris can be president. de Blasio can be president. Booker can be president. Buttigieg can be president.”

“All that before breakfast?”

“Yes,” said the queen. “And then I throw up.”

I remember elections where the democrats had weak candidates, not not an election where they were all so flawed.

So he had a room-temperature IQ 31 years ago, too. Impressive.

Why, there ought to be a bumper sticker:

BIDENse 2020.

Joe was a dumb, gaffe-prone politician 31 years ago, and he’s still a dumb, gaffe-prone politician today, but at least he’s helped enrich his family with Chinese and Ukrainian money.

The best thing about biden is his idiocy exposing obama: who else but a functional idiot would stand by a traitor like obama for 8 years?

A three letter word: J O B S !

Biden was in Congress way back when we were debating the Alaska pipeline.

He opposed it, of course. On grounds that it would take “five years to see the first drop of oil” through it.

Took less than that, and ever since we’ve been getting roughly 20% of our oil through that pipeline.

As Bugs would say, “What a Maroon!”.

So, yeah, he was an idiot back then too.

But, yeah, he’s a couple decades along with his senile dementia. Impossible not to notice.
