Is Joe Okay? Biden Adds Two More Iowa Flubs to the Growing List

Is Joe Okay? Biden Adds Two More Iowa Flubs to the Growing List

Biden’s latest round of gaffes come as the Democratic presidential frontrunner returned to the campaign trail after taking several days off to relax in Delaware.

https://youtu.be/OkWkuBNvdjo

While it’s no big secret that Joe Biden is a walking gaffe machine, the number of flubs he’s made just this month alone are raising alarm bells in Democratic circles.

Just a couple of weeks ago, I wrote about several gaffes the Democratic presidential frontrunner made in just a few days time during a campaign swing through Iowa. Among them, Biden said “Poor kids are just as bright and just as talented as white kids” and “We choose truth over facts.”

He also, for the second time this year, confused former British PM Theresa May and the late former PM Margaret Thatcher.

The day after that disastrous Iowa trip concluded, Biden went back to his home state of Delaware to take some time off from the campaign trail.

Biden’s back at it this week in Iowa, and in spite of several days of rest the gaffes haven’t stopped. At a campaign stop in Urbandale on Tuesday, he recalled the assassinations of Robert F. Kennedy and Martin Luther King, Jr., which he incorrectly stated happened “in the 70s”:

“When Bobby Kennedy and Dr. King had been assassinated in the 70s, the late 70s when I got engaged,” he said in the run-up to making a point about how times have changed.

[…]

While Mr. Biden went on to place iconic 1960s slogans in the correct decade, he also stated that the women in his audience wouldn’t remember them.

“Up to that time remember — none of you women would know this, but a couple of men may remember — that was a time, in the early, late 60s and the early 60s and 60s, where it was ‘drop out,’ go to ‘Haight Ashbury,’ ‘don’t get engaged,’ ‘don’t trust anybody over 30,’ ” he went on to say.

Watch:

At another campaign event that same day, Biden tried to clarify the gaffe he’d made twice during his previous Iowa trip about the Parkland students visiting him “when I was vice president.”

His explanation was almost as bad as the original gaffes themselves:

Speaking at a campaign event, Biden said he “was still called vice president” when he met with the students from Parkland.

“I also met with the kids from Parkland, in the Capitol,” Biden said. “I was still called vice president, but it was in ’18.”

His memory of the event, however, remains incomplete.

“They asked me to come speak to them in the rotunda,” Biden said, before pausing to think.

“I think it was the rotunda, it was one of the buildings, or one of the rooms in the Capitol,” he said.

Watch:

That’s just downright embarrassing. And nobody’s buying it.

Biden’s penchant for making these types of mistakes on the campaign trail has gotten so bad that it has led to speculation about his mental acuity. His own physician even talked to Politico this week to assure people that Biden “is every bit as sharp as he was 31 years ago. I haven’t seen any change.”

I’m not a doctor and certainly not someone who can make a diagnosis from afar in any way, shape, or form, but this doesn’t look like it can just be blamed on tiredness, long days on the campaign trail, and “Joe being Joe.”

I’m not saying this because of politics, either. You don’t even have to take my word for it. Watch the videos and see for yourself. Something is off here, way off.

Is Joe okay? I hope he is, for his sake and for his family’s.

This is the lefts best shot and they want TURmp out under the 25th.

Watching Biden, it is clear that he has advanced dementia. When he is not active, his face has a slack appearance seen in dementia. Other times his gait is shuffling again, dementia. Biden really should drop out, you feel sorry for the guy.

No worries. There is no problem. Slow Joe is that stupid. He’s been like this for over 40 years. I feel for the country that keeps electing this doofus over and over.

Biden has a life’s history of buffoonery,he was chosen by Obama for that very reason.
Obama saw him as the controllable patsy, just keep him away from a mic and keep a thumb on him and he will offer no opposition,Biden left to his own devices well the buffoon comes shining thru.

The Liberals and the leftist Press has been mocking Uncle Joe for years and years. Suddenly he’s the man to dethrone Donald Trump!

Looks like desperation is consuming the Democratic Party.

Maybe after 2020 Whoppie and the rest of the idiots from The View and their ultra liberal friends might really have a Canadian postal address! My only question is how will they explain the animal fur wardrobe?

I’m a physician who worked with patients suffering from dementia for many years. There is no doubt in my mind that Biden has mild (early) dementia on clinical grounds. That is not a diagnosis, however, which requires more anatomic or radiological information. Most probably Biden’s condition will incrementally worsen over the course of the nomination process. Should he be nominated, I have no doubt that his condition will be evident to all voters by the time of the election.

Yeah, it seems much more obvious than in the debates. In the debates, he was actually very sharp. He had all the facts at his fingertips to stand up to Kamala Harris and survive until he could arrange for Tulsi Gabbard to take her down in the next debate. That’s master politician stuff.

But here he really looked old, tired and disconnected. The disconnected part is what I saw in my mother as she began to show dementia symptoms.

Not much difference between now an 30 years ago., with the exception that his competition is more dismal. This is one of the reasons why he badly lost all previous attempts.

I think the press would like us to forget Biden has had brain surgeries for aneurysms. https://www.nytimes.com/1988/05/04/us/biden-resting-after-surgery-for-second-brain-aneurysm.html

As a physician who worked with dementia patients over many years, there is no doubt in my mind that Biden manifests findings consistent with mild dementia. Most probably his condition will incrementally worsen over the course of the election process and I suspect that, should Biden actually be nominated and not withdraw, his limitations will be evident to all voters who are not similarly afflicted by the time of the election.

I’m a former RN who currently volunteers by providing hospice respite care to families keeping their loved ones with dementia at home. It’s truly a horrible progressive disease, with no hope of cure. I have nothing but compassion for these people, But this is why I agree with Professor Jacobson that if the Democratic Nominating Convention is either deadlocked or appears to settle on Biden, his medical records will miraculously materialize (HIPAA notwithstanding) and Michelle Obama will ride to the rescue by acclimation. Don’t ever underestimate the Obamas’ power. This is the scenario young voters and suburban soccer moms fantasize about.

Amen RNJD! You are correct about the Obama’s. I’ve thought for quite awhile that Moochelle would be “The One”

Elizabeth Warren, the co-frontrunner with Biden, is a ruthless operator who has never lost an election. I don’t think she would allow Michelle Obama into the process, nor would she want anything to do with being VP. And besides she wouldn’t be the VP pick, from safe state Massachusetts.

Michelle Obama will not enter the presidential race imho. She has shown zero interest in running for any political office.

Any additional stress… long hours, etc will potentiate the underlying issues. The clock ticks on and opportunities pass… sooner for some than others.

He doesn’t have advanced dementia, definitely has memory problems and has had serious Heath issues
He has. No business running for President

artichoke in reply to gonzotx. | August 22, 2019 at 8:43 pm

I’d say early dementia. Advanced dementia and you’re in your own little world, oblivious. Biden is not there by a long shot.

alaskabob in reply to artichoke. | August 22, 2019 at 10:14 pm

The term would be MCI…mild cognitive impairment. Would like to see what a F-18 FDG PET brain scan would look like. So Biden is chosen, and “something” happens that needs a candidate to step forward to replace the heroic Biden… enter Michelle O.

They did a good job of hiding Hillary’s issues… which included brain injury from the thrombosed draining vein. They have the routine down.

        oldgoat36 in reply to alaskabob. | August 22, 2019 at 11:18 pm

If he were elected I would expect his “running mate” to be the true candidate as Joe might just have to retire before the end of his term, giving this country no real choice in who the left insert into the role.

Few people pay much attention to the running mate. It would be a stealth move to put in place one who wouldn’t likely get elected.

I can also see the DNC pulling something like a brokered convention so Big Mike can be put in place without having to have the exposure of going through the primaries. I just wonder if Jarrett would remain the power behind the throne as she was during Obama’s puppet Presidency. I don’t think either Obama is particularly energetic, which is the only saving grace we had from him.

    oldgoat36 in reply to gonzotx. | August 22, 2019 at 11:10 pm

Over thirty years ago Biden had two brain aneurysms, and while his doctors claim his brain is fine, he has always had issues with mental capacity, his being older doesn’t help the prognosis, despite his doctors claiming so.

First off, he was extremely lucky to live through two of them. If you have had these issues before, it speaks to there being issues with the blood vessels in his brain. His chances of surviving another aneurysm is low, putting additional concerns on his choice of running mate should he (God forbid) be elected.

His judgement has shown to be lacking, how much could be the result of brain damage from those two incidents while he was in the Senate?

We all know Biden was a hedge for Obama against impeachment, as Obama planned to go outside the Constitution and to “transform” this country. I believe it was one reason why Obama never had to worry about impeachment, the other being his use of the race card.

McCain suffered from Brain Cancer, and in his later years showed his penchant for truly questionable decisions and choices to get worse. How long was he suffering from brain issues prior to his treatment for cancer?

I wouldn’t have trusted McCain and I would have less trust in Biden who suffered brain abnormalities at a much younger age.

People who have had concussions can suffer ill effects in their cognitive abilities ever after, aneurysms have to be even more devastating to the brain.

      artichoke in reply to oldgoat36. | August 24, 2019 at 9:26 am

I don’t believe the story about McCain and brain cancer. When he returned to the Senate for his “thumbs-down” speech, he showed no symptoms, and his bandage was too small for the operation described which would have required removal and replacement of at least a whole section of skull. He had no physical impairments which is pretty unbelievable in those conditions.

I guess it was an excuse because he spent some time in custody or witness protection. And that legal pressure made him even more bitter and angry, which you can see in his attitude in that speech.

“after taking several days off to relax in Delaware”

This is what they meant,

Maybe that was being done under the care of “Dr Jill Biden” who is not a doctor but rather is the holder of a PileHighDeep in “educational leadership” (sounds important). Her dissertation, Student Retention at the Community College: Meeting Students’ Needs, has been read by maybe 10 people and only because they had to since she paid the tuition bills.

Biden will never survive. He’s way too stupid.

And he’s the best they have…

Advanced dementia is a psychotic hell hole that people are either physically aggressive or bed ridden and have no clue about anything but clearly are living a psychotic paranoid hell.

artichoke in reply to gonzotx. | August 22, 2019 at 8:47 pm

Or just disconnected. Disconnection can lead to paranoia in some people, anger in some people, it’s been said you’re like you would be drunk. There are happy drunks and angry drunks. But the one thing that’s common with dementia is disconnection.

tommy mc donnell | August 22, 2019 at 3:59 pm

is this because biden is having mental problems or because he is so use to lying and having the media back him up on them that he no longer even considers it necessary to tell the truth. communists don’t even believe in the concept of truth only what gets them their way.

Obama wasn’t much better:

Dumb Barack Obama Quotes and Gaffes:
https://www.liveabout.com/barack-obama-quotes-and-gaffes-2733986

And age wasn’t obama’s excuse.

Obama’s Fisher-Price presidency and his idiocy was enabled and covered-up by a diaper-changing democrat media, who wiped him each time he soiled himself.

Biden’s idiocy is a great insight into obama’s time (and America’s sentence) at the White House.

I’m not convinced Biden really wants to be president. Where Obama told him “you don’t have to do this” would speak to Biden’s motive “I’d never forgive myself” … he sat out 2016 for Hillary’s swing and a miss – and to this day thinks he would have beaten Trump. So it sounds like his main motivation is to atone for the Trump win.

Such a person would lack the passion to campaign, remain atop the issues, and stamina to win if the motivation is to atone … the gaffes may be multiplied by Biden’s indifference …

Flip side of that – Warren’s energy and determination is moving her up in the heap – despite her native American fiasco. So it seems like passion and determination can overcome the negatives.

I remember in 2008 when Fred Thompson declared and generated some excitement but Fred didn’t exude any real / lasting passion about winning the presidency. Some comedy skit about him was a reporter asking Thompson a question to the effect “on a scale of 1-10, how much to you want to be president” and Thompson (actor) thought a moment and replied “a solid 5 – maybe a 6” … wasn’t long after that Thompson was done.

The point is, any person running has to be a solid 10. For the Dems, that would be Sanders and Warren. The rest are cold fish by comparison.

And then there’s Trump. He’s a solid 20.

BIDEN FOR POTUS! Let’s alllll get on the bandwagon… if ‘ol Joe ‘wins’ the D nomination, we assure Trump victory…

Jus’ sayin’!!!!!!

Eagleton… cough

I hope this ass-clown gets the nomination. It isn’t ‘dementia’, this jerk is such a self-centered asshole he thinks he can pull garbage out of his ass on the spot and people will believe it. His mouth outruns his ass. It was way back in ’08 when he made the Couric interview and stepped all over his crank with the FDR on TV in 1929 BS, and he prefaced it with a little lecture about how people want to know that a candidate knows what he’s talking about. He is a walking punch-line, and has been for many, many years.

Milhouse in reply to CDR D. | August 23, 2019 at 12:42 am

Also remember his debate with Sarah Palin, where she had read her constitution and knew exactly what it said, while he relied on having been in the senate for so long and the knowledge he picked up along the way about how things are done there in practice. He had no idea what Palin was talking about.

artichoke in reply to Milhouse. | August 23, 2019 at 2:31 pm

I don’t remember that, but very often the constitution as well as other things are interpreted in the framework of “stare decisis” which is closely related to how things have actually evolved to be done. Also the importance of the 14th Amendment in wiping out all sorts of other stuff must not be overlooked.

A clear gaffe was committed by Obama, who thought he was president of 57 states. You know, up at those rarefied levels and thinking their elevated thoughts, they may miss a few details …

All they need is a figurehead… the Central Committee and the 5th column ..er… 4th Estate will take care of the rest.

It’s obvious there is something wrong. His appearance, speech patterns, gait., all have changed. It’s hard to believe that his family would allow this when he should be at the beach. Unless he really is being used as a stalking horse and winds up handing the baton to Obama or Oprah after a tearful fair well at the convention. To my mind it’s the only thing that makes any sense, because he’s basically a shambling, mumbling old man at this point and everyone can see it.

They want another pliable face like Obama. Joe qualifies so does the girl who slept her way to the table in California

The last straw with Biden will be when, standing in front of a Krisp Kreme, he plagiarizes JFK’s famous Berlin Wall speech:

“All free men, wherever they may live, are citizens of America, and, therefore, as a free man, confronted by the existential threat looming over all of us, I take pride in the words “I am a jelly donut!”

You just know it’s coming. When Joe finally loses it completely, it will be a moment for the ages.

“that was a time, in the early, late 60s and the early 60s and 60s, where it was ‘drop out,’ go to ‘Haight Ashbury,’ ‘don’t get engaged,’ ‘don’t trust anybody over 30,’ ” he went on to say.

“Yessir, them dirty hippies was settin’ around parks, a-smokin’ that hopweed, singin’ them protest songs an’ generly makin’ damn-fools a’themselves, not gittin’ involved er workin’ fer change within the system to permote justice er nuthin. Course you ladies, God love ya, woodent know nuthin’ ’bout that cuz you wuz too pregnant in them kitchens cookin’ fer yer menfolks.
Yessir!”

“…Biden “is every bit as sharp as he was 31 years ago.”

That’s not saying much. From 32 years ago: https://www.apnews.com/cd977f7ff301993f7976974ba07c5495

Nah, he was sharp. He’s just a good liar. He tells a very believable sympathetic story that bears very little connection to the truth.

This is a good link, really shows how slimy he is.

I think what happened just a couple days ago is that he’s still spinning the stories but can’t maintain the impression of veracity as well, because he’s at least slowing down mentally.
