Enough Yet? Obamas Buying $14.8 Million Home on Martha’s Vineyard

The Obamas are in the process of buying a 29-acre waterfront estate on Martha’s Vineyard. The property belongs to Boston Celtics owner Wyc Grousbeck, and the house boasts seven bedrooms, eight bathrooms, and a pool.

Has no one told the Obamas we have only ten years until the world ends due to climate change? Do they not realize this house will be underwater soon?

Sam Dorman reports at FOX News:

Obamas placed an offer on ‘mega-expensive’ estate in Martha’s Vineyard: report

Former President Barack Obama and his wife, Michelle, reportedly made an offer on a 29-acre estate in Martha’s Vineyard after renting it from Boston Celtics owner Wyc Grousbeck over the summer.

According to TMZ, the “mega-expensive” estate sits on the beach, has two guest wings, seven guest rooms, and 6,900 square feet. Although the property is listed at $14,850,000, sources told TMZ the Obamas were paying “less.”

The Obamas previously purchased a nine-bedroom house Washington, D.C. That 2017 purchase cost them $8.1 million.

While the pair is currently in escrow, the deal could fall apart due to unspecified “contingencies,” according to the outlet. The news came as the former first family seemed poised to continue raking in millions from a variety of other opportunities.

It’s a beautiful house.

You can tour the property at this real estate listing.

The irony of this has not been lost on anyone.

The only way this story could get any better is if the Obamas decide to build a wall around the property.

Wow, a guy who’s never had a job that generated one dime of profit in his whole life can afford to buy a $14 million house. America!

Exactly, He has never “made” any money, therefore he can accumulate as much as he can. People who “make” i.e. increase the value of labor and resources, those guys are exploiting everyone.

My father-in-law’s brother has a place down the street from there on the island. His is definitely not that expensive (still too pretentious for me). They’re on a quaint back corner of the island, now worrying that the new neighbors will be bringing dozens of secret service, the paparazzi and gawkers down their back road. Real shame to have to live next these two con artists.

My thoughts exactly. The well heeled residents got a taste of the circus to come when the Obama vacations began during his presidency. I hope they enjoy the disruptions in perpetuity.

He did vastly improve the economy, his personal economy.

This is my shocked face.

I know I shouldn’t, but if the libs/dims can hope for a recession I can certainly hope for a good Nor’eastern

I would settle for a nice wind farm to enhance his view.

My only thoughts are that I hope both his wife and boyfriend are with him when a hurricane SLAPS his house like a ton of bricks – just a weekend after his daughter marries a ‘good Jewish boy’! Perhaps they’ll find him as a floater somewhere outside the 3 mile limit, playing with the fishes!

Who knows, if the sharks don’t eat him there are always lobsters who get hungry for a little carrion.

Poor Ulysses S. Grant had to claw out his memoirs on his death bed(chair, he had to sleep sitting) so his wife, fmr. FLOTUS Julia didn’t end her days in the poor house. Times have changed.

I would like some very selective ocean-level rise – so that Obama, Gore and all the global warming celebrities and news people who live along the coasts end up underwater. Nobody deserves it more than this hateful phony crowd.

Hmm… no mention of the lot’s elevation. I guess waterfront is waterfront.

79 Turkeyland Cove Rd – “Turkey” is right on the money.

He’s pretty much in the middle of a flood zone. It would be interesting to see how this area fared during Sandy.

Can we swap Martha’s Vineyard for Greenland?

Planet Earth ends in 11.5 years. Party like it’s 1999.

The Friendly Grizzly | August 23, 2019 at 9:11 am

I didn’t know Martha’s Vineyard allowed their kind to live there.

    That’s ok.

They know Barrack isn’t anywhere near being a Black American,
and the think Michelle is his maid!

    SNARK!

Most blacks live in Oak Bluffs (multi-generation), which is a very cool town. Figures that Obama however chose the white fences, white houses and white people of Edgartown.

Dems/Progs subpoena President Trump’s tax records. He was a billionaire before elected.

Chairman O, has never held a real job, buys a few multi million dollar homes. Nothing to see here, move along. Elected office pays well!

No kidding. It’s amazing how many of these “public servants” start out very middle class and end up multi-millionaires.

Normally, there’s nothing wrong with making money and spending it any darn way you want.
But the absolute and abject hypocrisy of these people is really mind boggling.

Yes, but, perhaps they’ll build a village of tiny homes to house the homeless on the property? Or maybe a nice high-rise housing project (with bus service to nearby jobs, etc.)?

At least this would be consistent with the Obama administration’s push to require (mostly upscale or at least solidly middle-class) communities to accept more public housing, even when most residents really didn’t want it.

Harry S. Truman said: “An honest public servant can’t become rich in politics.” To which I say: “I know.”

Seems a lot of cash to lay out when the sea levels are rising. Pretty well puts that to bed, doesn’t it?

amatuerwrangler | August 23, 2019 at 3:41 pm

Obviously, the Kenyan has not reached that “..you’ve made enough money” point.

Will this financial hypocrisy be a negative for Michelle in the general election? (We know it will not be at the nomination level.)

How will any of the socialists/communists currently seeking the Dem nomination be able to justify seeking an endorsement from this “rich guy”?

This may reinforce Michelle’s adamant statement that she isn’t running/won’t run. Or it could give her an easy drive home from all the fundraisers her neighbors will throw for her.

It’s Barry Sotero’s money, he can spend it anyway he wants, but he’d better quit lecturing me about my carbon footprint.

We should do an online petition to make it so obama can’t make more than $15 an hour doing speeches.

I should’ve majored in community organizing 🙁

If Obama truly that the oceans would rise and inundate his mansion, why would he throw away his money?

Answer: He will just make the island float. Remember how the MSM portrayed Obama in photos with halos over his head??
