Pete Buttigieg has stagnated in the polls and the media isn’t paying as much attention to him as they did a few months ago. This is an attempt to stay relevant.

The College Fix reports:

Another Democratic candidate signs on to student debt relief

Yet another Democratic candidate for president has signed on to a student debt relief plan, adding to the considerable number of contenders that have endorsed such schemes.

Pete Buttigieg, the mayor of South Bend, Indiana, and a presidential candidate who has consistently ranked low in the polls since announcing his candidacy, released a plan last week meant to relieve student debt for poor students. The proposal is framed as a measure to address anti-black racism in the United States.

The Douglass Plan is “a comprehensive and intentional dismantling of racist structures and systems combined with an equally intentional and affirmative investment of unprecedented scale in the freedom and self-determination of Black Americans,” Buttigieg’s campaign states. That plan proposes numerous socio-political initiatives, touching on topics such as healthcare and criminal justice reform.

Among the proposals include a measure for debt cancellation:

We will cancel the debts of borrowers in low-quality, overwhelmingly for-profit programs beginning with those that failed federal “gainful employment” rules designed to ensure students receive an adequate return on their investments where the federal government should never have allowed students to enroll. We will hold those colleges accountable for their predatory actions.

At this point, latching on won’t get them anything this round. I think they are playing for the next round when they can say that their opponents that won didn’t come through but they are “for real”….it’s pathetic really.

Pete should top talking and write a check to pay for his proposal.

The angry little booty judge joins in the “free shit for votes” contest. Surprise, surprise. Yawn.

The hubris of a mayor of a shit-hole town thinking he can run the country.

He likely is in favor of all 13 year old wearing Speedos. No one cares. He is a sideshow.

I’ve said all along that Pete is ultimately running for VP; that’s why he came out (so to speak) and went after Pence so hard. He’s really got no other options since his only other option is to stick around Indiana and run for governor or senator, and that’s never going to happen.
